AMD graphics adapter missing

So I have an issue that has been going on for a while now. My pc, alienware x51, has not been recognizing the AMD graphics card i have. The only graphics adapter I see in device manager is Intel HD Graphics 4600. I tried reinstalling AMD drivers so many times, but nothing works. At this point i can only see something when my pc is connected through the HDMI cable And im able to see it on the tv.
Help please!

Dell Video and INTEL HD drivers are tightly integrated. You have to install them in pairs.
INTEL does not update their drivers as often as ATI.
You have to unistall the junk installed and download the INTEL and ATI drivers from dell as a set and install.
ATI drivers will fail if dotnet 2.0,3.0,4.0 and up are not installed BEFORE installing the ATI driver.

Hp pavilion amd graphics driver not found

hi i have a hp pavilion dm4-2100ex and it has 2 display adapters intel and amd but now i notice the amd catalyst is gone and when i checked display adapters in device manager the only one left there is intel. i tried installing the amd graphics but when it is installed it is still not there... i also tried reinstalling the amd using recovery manager drivers and application reinstal and was told installed success but when i check again in the device manager the amd display adapter is still missing what to do please help me

To successfully re-enable the Catalyst Control Center on your system, I recommend installing the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your notebook. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7). Once installed, please follow this resource on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7) to update the drivers and software.

Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter??

I treated my self to a new Macbook Pro with the AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1GB graphics cards..
Now that I've got everything up and running just dandy I Bootcamped Windows 7 (64 bit) on it to see how it would handle some gaming, I tried installing the latest graphics drivers from AMD and am presented with this error message :
"Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter."
Is this normal?? Has Apple restricted the installations of drivers on the MBP or have I got a problem?

Hi folks! I was scouring the web for some answers and got pulled to this thread. I've got a mid-2011 iMac 27", i7 with the 2gb HD 6970M (bootcamping Win7, 64-bit) and I also get that same error as OrphanGymnast when attempting to play the Battlefield 3 Beta. Whenever I try to join a server it says my Catalyst version is out of date and that I need to upgrade, in turn it only references the generic AMD url. However, the game still manages to play, but I'm not sure if I'm getting the proper performance I should be getting with the latest driver. Anyway I tried AMD's auto detector and nothing...same message shown above in the OP. Now I find myself here.
I'm not that hardcore about pc gaming so messing around with drivers and such is pretty new to me. From what I gather the reason for getting, the "Your Computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter." is because mobile/laptop GPU's have to rely on their manufacturers (Apple, in our case) to roll out their specific driver updates and not AMD. I used the following links, but encountered a few problems.

When I tried to uninstall the current ATi catalyst it was not showing up in "Programs and Features". I figured I could then just run the CCC and saw there was an uninstall option through there. CCC ran the uninstall, but the progress bar got hung up about 99% of the way through and after about a half hour in that state, I decided to End Task. By now, my display is all out of wack since it deleted the original driver. I rebooted and proceeded to install the 11.9 catalyst and that too got hung up about halfway through for a while...had to End Task again. Rebooted and display was still jacked up so I just threw back in my Bootcamp Support Disc and repaired drivers...now all things back to normal (display driver v8.812).
So now that I'm back at square one, would anyone that successfully updated their mobile GPU care to tell me where I messed up? I would greatly appreciate it. I apologize for the long read, but I wanted to be as clear as possible.

I have HP Pavilion dv6-3151st. I have a problem. Amd graphics is not installing. Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try manually installing the windows 7 graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page. If that doesn't work then there is no solution that I know of. I dont have the proper graphics adapter

So i recently dual booted my Macbook pro with windows 7 32bit OS, but now when i try t update the drivers for my AMD Radeon HD 6770M it says that i cant have the updates due to not having the proper graphics adapter. How do i update my graphics drivers? And where do i get the drivers from cause the AMD website isnt working and i havent found any 3rd party sites offering much more help.

Can't update AMD graphics card drivers in Macbook Pro 15" 2011

I've been having this problem for a while now, and from what I understand, it's a fairly common issue with bootcamp but I have not been able to find a solution to the problem nonetheless. I am using a 15" Macbook Pro from 2011 (purchased in early September, not sure if that was before the 'late 2011' model or not), running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 through bootcamp v4.0. The graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6750m last updated on 6/13/2011 to version 8.812.0.0.
I have tried many times to update the card using the AMD catalyst control center supposedly made for windows 7 in bootcamp, but no matter what compatibility options I choose, the installer either tells me there is no graphics adapter (auto detect) or just crashes immediately after starting installation of the catalyst control center. I've also attempted reinstalling bootcamp several times, each with a fresh download of the windows support software, though I have not completely uninstalled Windows 7. I'm not sure if the problem is with the bootcamp drivers themselves or with AMD's software or a combination of both, and a solution would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I know this is completely the wrong spot for this, but while I'm here, does anybody else have issues running EA's Origin download service? I just installed it in bootcamp a few days ago to play Mass Effect 3, and ever since then my computer gets display lag (e.g. in windows media player the video freezes for a few seconds at a time, while the sound continues playing) sometimes, especially during and after attempting to play Mass Effect 3. I already checked to make sure that both Origin and Mass Effect 3 are fully up to date, so I thought it might have something to do with the graphics card.
Anyway, thanks for the assistance, and I apologize for asking a question that has probably been answered several times. I searched through several posts, I couldn't find any answers to my problem.

Despite all of these helpful posts from the community, I'm still coming up short. I'm attempting to update my ATI Radeon HD 6770m driver on windows 7 64-bit. I've followed this guide:

(third post down) - I also use Drive Sweeper after using CCCleaner and device manager uninstall.
Every time I attempt to install the driver after rebooting, I receive an error message stating "Driver install: the INF file was not found" with a log stating that the driver failed to install upon completion.
When I attempt to use control panel>Device Manager>Display Adapters>Update Driver Software>Browse My Computer For Driver Software and then choose the appropriate file path (including subfolders) or by choosing from a list of device drivers and selecting one of the two inf files in c:/amd/support/12-2_mobility../packages/drivers/display/w76a_inf, I receive the following error message:
"Windows Encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
AMD Radeon HD 6700m Series
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
I'm hitting nothing but dead ends here. I just want to play SWTOR with an updated driver!
Please provide a detailed, step-by-step solution (if you have one). It is not safe to assume that I have any experience regarding graphics drivers or running windows in bootcamp. Thanks in advance.

In device manager under display adapter there are two GPUs i.e. Intel Hd graphics 3000 its alright and Standard VGA graphic adapter which contains error (this Device cannot start code 10). I tried to update the driver in device manager itself but it tells ( Windows found the driver for the device but unable to install), I even tried windows update there it shows the driver update but whent i try to install it shows error Code 80070002.
Because of this im unable to play games and watch hd videos in my laptop.
Please some one help me to solve this problem.

The only graphics driver you should install for your model is the AMD graphics driver which will install both the AMD and Intel GPU's.
If you installed the Intel graphics driver from your PC's support and driver page, that could be preventing the correct AMD driver from installing.

Switching Graphics adapter in HP Pavilion 15-n007AX Laptop

I have the HP Pavilion 15-n007AX Laptop, with a dual "AMD Radeon HD 7620G" and "AMD Mobility Radeon HD 8670M" display adapter. Adobe has released it's new Lightroom 6 software with Hardware acceleration support for all graphics card with OPenGL version>3.3. The software crashes everytime, I try to use the "Graphics Acceleration" feature of the graphics. It runs fine, if I disable the "Graphics acceleration" feature.
I know, the Radeon HD 8670M display adapter has an OpenGL version >3.3, but the laptop always shows Radeon HD 7620G as the primary adapter, which has less VRAM and an lesser OpenGL version support.
Can anyone from HP Support let me know how would I switch the graphics adapter and make the Radeon HD 8670M adapter as the primary one?

Use the AMD Catalyst Control Center to set the AMD Mobility Radeon HD 8670M as the default graphics adapter.
Right click the icon in the systray to access Catalyst Control Center.

Graphic Driver missing for Win 8.1 (it WAS there)

However, when I check today (I reinstalled my OS), it's GONE. I still keep some of them on my HDD, for example, the AMD Graphic driver for Win 8.1 x64 is sp63715.exe. and someone can find the files from your server if they knew the sp id. But the problem is, what if they don't know? what if I don't keep these dirver files? Why they got removed fromt your support centor's list? Please directly answer this question instead imply I already got solution. It's very important for other users.

Hi, Windows 10 has been out and around. To support Windows 10 vendors (all of them) need to re-develop many drivers if not all. The most economical way is to develop drivers which can adapt to changes. I think (not sure) HP may temporary remove old drivers and will publish new drivers - not one size fit all but at least simplify the tasks. Hope this makes sense.

HP Probook 4540s (H6D81ES) AMD graphic problem!

There is any way to increase it or something?? Also how is it possible that I could play Watch Dogs which requires 1gb video ram while I have only 32mb !!

Hi:
Your specific 4540s product number H6D81ES only has the onboard Intel graphics adapter. It does not have the AMD/Intel switchable grahpics according to this spec sheet I found online.

Boot Camp & Windows 7 -- "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" (This is wrong.)

I am hoping I can find some help here, I have purged the internet looking for a solution, all to no avail.
Heres the situation:
I have a 15" mac book pro unibody.
500 gb hdd
4 gb ram
9600m gt graphics
Anyways, I decided to install windows 7 on a partition I made using boot camp, hoping to play the new Dragon Age: Origins game.
Everything went well with the install, except for the graphics card.
When I open the device manager, this is what it says:

Clearly wrong, clearly does not work with Dragon Age:

So I don't know what to do, here's what I HAVE done.
--I tried going to the nVidia website and downloading the latest driver for my graphics card, only to have it say this when I try to run it:

("There is no drivers in this package for the hardware on your computer")
--I tried going into Device Manage, right clicking Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, clicking properties->update drive->browse my computer->let me pick->picking my latest nVidia folder->picking 9600m gt from the list-> next. This looks like it starts to install, but then tells me that the control panel was not able to install successfully, so its REVERTING to the last working driver, uninstalling and restarting as I scream "Nooooooo!!".
--I tried changing the nvam.inf file, editing the device key value of the graphics I retrieved from running dxdiag, however when I ran dxdiag, it was the same device key as the one already in the nvam.inf file, so that changed nothing.
--Lastly (i just remembered this, I did this first), I tried downloading the latest BootCamp version (2.1 or something?), and this changed nothing as well.
I am severely exhausted and stressed from trying to get this to work, and I am in DIRE need of help, since one of the only reasons I put windows 7 on this was to play video games!!! Please dont let it be all for nothing haha.

Boot Camp in Snow Leopard does not yet "officially" support Windows 7, but such support has been promised "before the end of the year." See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3920
Presumably the updated Boot Camp will support drivers not currently available, such as the appropriate video drivers. The end of the year looms and there is as yet no word about better support for Windows 7. Lets hope there are new drivers, as there are many others in your situation, although plenty of other people report they are using Windows 7 and Boot Camp. I prefer to wait for the official release by Apple.

I have a question regarding a Qosimio E10. Is it possible to upgrade the graphics Adapter to a more recent one. (Now : Geforce FX 5200 Go 64 Mb) Because the one i use now is ot of date and I dont want to buy a new notebook just because of a Graphics Card !

No, its not possible because the graphic card is a little small chip which was fixed on the mainboard. The graphic card design is not the same like on the PC desktop.

HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC AMD Graphics driver

I have been having this problem for over a year (my warranty had conveniently just expired right before this started happening). It first started when I plugged in my computer to my tv through an HDMI cord (which I had done before with no problems). My computer shut down after loading up a game and when I finally got my computer back up and running, it said my AMD graphics card driver was not working properly. Every time I tried to repair or update it through the HP Website via the drivers list, it would crash my computer. After I unstalled the driver completely, it STILL crashes my computer upon trying to now re install it. I am very frustrated and at a loss, and I know there have been a lot of problems with these drivers in the past. They haven't even been updated since 2011... I built this computer to be a gaming lap top, and at this point it is just a suped up paper weight as there's no point in even having 8GB of RAM or 1TB of hard drive memory if I can't even run my games on it... Has anyone had this problem or found a solution to it?

Unable to read email with mozilla firefox. The online graphics are missing and the links are unable to be accessed when I try to click on them

Having issues with being able to assess my email on Mozilla Firefox. When I sign in, the graphics are missing. Once I'm logged in, the inbox is not there. Some thing is wrong graphically. There are work links for inbox and contacts, but they are all flushed to the left of the screen. When I attempt to click on them, nothing happens. I have tried to remove Firefox and then reinstall it but the same thing happens. I also attempted to reset firefox to its default state and that did not work either. I check plug ins and most are up to date. However, not clear for window presentation foundation is and if it was necessary to have. The plug in state was unknown. Please advise on what to do? Thanks!

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.
