Amd o/c survey your views?

Hi just been browsing and find that there seems to be very varied views on O/C on amd (especially bartons) cpu`s. would be interested if you could give your opinions on this matter just to see who favours which method and if poss some statistics and range of boards,cpu`s and memory used...

My rig with:
2500+ barton 200X11.5=2300MHz
XP took a very long time to boot the bar on loading took 40+ time to go accross. everything seemed to run normal speed but some lag everynow and then
2100+ T-Bred B 200X11.5=2300MHz
Xp took 3 bars to load from time i hit power button it takes 12 sec to be in windows ready to use. Still have not seen any lag and running smooth after 6 months of OCing this chip.
Compared The T-Bred B feels like it runs faster and smoother than the barton did and on bench marks it was just a very small amount of a diff only due to the 256k more cashe less than 300pts in 3dmark2001. But to be frank i think i picked up a barton that was bad and died after 3 months of use for no reason.
Over all opinion:
Bartons are good OCers for a mild to medium overclocks but if you want to overclock a great amount go with the T-bred B series

Be aware that because BT is dropping Yahoo there has not been any definite info about what will happen with the Flickr accounts.
I went with the above package. I made 20 flickr account and have already sold 2 pro accounts for 1/3 of their price. Neighbour will also pay £3-5pm for the BT Wifi account.

It's a great idea to go ahead and roll out any of the Fusion Middleware products (including FI). By doing this you not only move towards a more SOA-based architecture but you are also preparing your environment for Fusion APPLICATIONS which are built on the Fusion Middleware tech stack.
By going ahead and using Fusion Middleware, your transition to Fusion Apps (if you so choose to move in that direction) will be a lot easier.

Your View: widgets don't minimize.

Hi,
I'm currently using Chrome. When I set up a widget in Your View and set it to Minimize this Widget, it does it in preview but does not stay minimized when published. Is this expected behaviour?

Hi Sekoya,
I've used similar systems to create layouts <cough>sharepoint for example</cough> and these allow for user minimization of the widgets when the layout is set. To allow minimzation just in edit mode doesn't make sense to me...

im planning on picking up an iphone today, and i just wanted your opinions as iphone users.

I don't really think so. But lots of people are disturbed by even small scratches, so get one. The bit you don't want to scratch is the screen, but it's pretty scratch resistant. If you want, you could get a cover for this bit only:

Yes you will, as the headphone recess is non-standard. Griffin and Belkin make adapters you can use.

"Your View" Anomalies

Hi,
Okay, I'm trying, but failing to like the new layout, like others have said - too much white space, and way too much scrolling.
I've tried to customise my view, but have hit a few snags that maybe someone here can help me with.
First, can someone explain what's going on here - I've tried decreasing the font size (I'm using Safari) to no avail.
Next, why is it that when I open the discussions (or whatever this rebrand is called) page in the "All Content" view I am presented with this:
and yet when I add the "Places" widget in the "Your View" pane, I am presented with this:
Did I mention how much I hate scrolling!!
On a positive note, I love how easy they've made it to add these pics.

You are able to select which community the widget shows the Top Participants for.
You can do that by clicking the upsidown triangle in the upper right hand corner of the widget and select Edit this widget:
Then click on Apple Support Communities under Place:
You can then start typing the name of a community and it will start to show there. Please keep in mind, you must select a sub-community, like Using iPhone in order to see the top participants in that community. You cannot set this widget to iPhone, as no discussions live in the iPhone parent community.

they both produce exact quality pictures there is no difference but
1) n958gb pictures may look blurry because of dirt and finger prints as there is NO lens protection
2) Autofocus in night mode is back in v15 software for n95 8gb

Wired & Wireless UK Network Set-up - Appreciate your views/advice?

Firstly, apologies if this isn't the right question for this forum. As it's re networking and I use an AE I hope this is right!
I have a succesfuly workng wireless connection at home which is based on a D-Link DSL 300T ADSL Modem which has a phone line input and one ethernet output. I then wire the ethernet output from the D-Link Modem to the Airport Express and all works well with my Imac G5 and iBook G4 both recieving the wireless internet connection.
Fyi, my ISP is virgin.net and I have an up to 2Mbps connection. The connection works well, but would like a speedboost. I gather virgin may be launching an up to 8Mbps service soon - not sure when though, or if in my area (incidentally - does anyone know how to find out when their local telephone exchange is due for update to allow 8Mbps? or indeed when ADSL2 is coming?)
Anyway, my open question, as a London based Mac user is does anyone have any views on what ISP/equipment I should go with to get a fast and reliable connection which is compatable with mac. Obviosuly I realise that if I stick with ADSL I won't be able to go higher than 2Mbps until my telephone exchange has been unpgraded.
In terms of home equipment, I have been reading about MIMO, and though I don't understand it, I feel myself getting taken in by the marketing. Is it better (faster, greater coverage) that 802.11g? Does anyone know if mac is bringing out a MIMO Airport? If I went to a MIMO solution would I still be able to use my 802.11g wireless cards in my iMac/IBook to connect?
I have been looking at the "NETGEAR WPN824 RANGEMAX SMART MIMO WIRELESS ROUTER". I like the sounds of it because it seems to combine everything in one box (modem/router/4 port switch/wireless) and because its MIMO standard - so perhaps "futureproof" for a few years. Does anyone have any strong feelings about this piece of kit, and how it works with a mac?
I realise I would then not use my AE, but am thinking of just having in client mode so I can still use a central printer and Airtunes - both of which I do love about the AE. Could I do this with the AE if my wireless device is MIMO standard?
Sorry, lots of questions already here. Just one more.... I have a perception, (don't know if true), that my iMac might be better off having a wired ethernet connection to whatever modem/router I get rather than wireless. I would have thought this connection would be quicker than wireless, and since my IMac is not exactly portable this would not be a problem. Is it true that an ethernet connection through my modem would be faster than wireless or am I making this up?

So basically you need to enable File and Printer sharing on your Both the computers. First this which you need to make sure that your Both the computers are in the same "Workgroup". To Check that right click on "My Computer" click on "Properties" and click on the tab 'Computer Name" and below it display you the Computer name and the "WorkGroup" make sure your both the computers are in same Workgroup, if not then you can change it.
On the computer where the printer is connected you need to Enable Sharing on it.

Ensure that the Organization's data is safe and recoverable. Ensure that the database is open and available for normal use. Check the alert log for any errors. Check for any dumps. uname -X should give you some information about the number of CPU's. You could use a command like df -k

Blurry images when zooming in Survey & Grid View

When I am in Survey View and hit the Z key, some of the previews are blurry. The same thing happens in Grid View. However, in Loupe View, the images are fine when I the 'Z' key. Using Survey View would make things go faster when making my picks. Any ideas why this happens?
I tried rendering 1:1 but the returns a mesage that says renders are up to date and rendering was done.

Making website universal no matter what program your viewing it on

I have created a website for my church and I burned it to a cd to view before i publish it.
When I open index.html it only opens the home page and does not show any links to other pages at the top. To view the other pages I have to open each site.html there is...
Also, some fonts and formatting are screwed up. How can I solve this problem and will this happen if I publish it and is viewed on a PC in IE ?? HELP !!

When you intend to save a website on a CD you have to publish to a folder on your desktop first.
iWeb creates an index.html file and a folder, or more folders, with your Site name(s).
Check that you've done that.
The index.html file and these folders you copy to the CD.
You either open the index.html file in your browser or one of the webpages inside the Site folder.
And yes, MSIE does not play nice. That's not iWeb faults.
And use websafe fonts. Or make sure the fonts you use on your Mac are also on the PC. Otherwise a substitute font will be used.
And viewing webpages from a folder is no guarantee for succes. Webpages are designed to be viewed thru a webserver. So use Personal Webserver or publish them anyway.

ORACLE query give me your views

I have clob data's in a field

How to not have your view objects query before the page comes up?

Hello. I have a view object that is part of a LOV. This view object always gets queried on bringing up the page (I need it to happen on the LOV click) How can I have the VO not queried initially? I tried setting the Iterator to refresh never, but it still does it. Here's the log before the page comes up:

There are two ways:
1. Uncheck "Query List Automatically" under List UI Hints in the view object overview xml.
2. In the query add "where 1=:bnum and 1 is not null" and execute the query in the LaunchPopupEvent
