AMD Troubleshooting guide! UpToDate version in VIA forum.

[size=11](Revision 4-9-2003)[/SIZE]
Hi there,
Follow everything on the list, even if it doesn't look like it would solve your problem, most problems are created somewhere else!
To give some examples:
CPU won't run FSB133....mostly powersupply or CPU-cooler.
Videocard won't load drivers....mostly powersupply.
Sound won't work.....mostly metal-standoff's.
Windows won't install, file read error.....mostly CPU-cooler, Bad-ram or powersupply.
That is why you need to go over the entire list and check all!
Before you start doing anything, remove the power and make sure that you have touched the metal case of your system. If you don't you could damage your system due to static discharge!
Thanks to Arioch and Dragon60 for comments on this.
There are several reasons why this happens.....to name the most commen:
CPU speeds
You have a Duron, that CPU is 100FSB!
You have a Athlon(XP) and it's showing the wrong speed, set the CPU-FSB to 133....
Or 166 when it's a FSB333 CPU....or 200 when it's a FSB400 CPU....
Some boards have a jumper to set it, other do it in the BIOS.
Check your manual for this.
Speeds must be:
Duron = 100MHz (=200DDR)
Athlon B type = 100MHz (=200DDR)
Athlon C type = 133MHz (=266DDR)
Athlon XP - C type = 133MHz (=266DDR)
Athlon XP - D type = 166MHz (=333DDR)
Athlon XP - E type = 200MHz (=400DDR)
Use this link to see if your motherboard actually supports your CPU.
The TBred CPU's (0.13) start from XP-1700 and up, but not all boards support this CPU and they either show on the D-LED all red or don't start at all!!
The K7T266pro2 is an exception, it can be made to support the TBred CPU's, on this link you find all the info on how to make it work.
Many reports have told us that FSB333 CPU's work on KT3-Ultra boards work just fine, but it's unsupported by MSI, we don't know why....
As for mulipliers with AMD CPU's, just set them Automatic, as they are hardcoded on the CPU themselves and will allway's be correctly, even if if you think the BIOS doesn't know it.
How to recognise the CPU:
If you look on the dice, there are letters after the speed.
The last letter will tell you the FSB of the CPU.
B=100MHz (=200DDR)
C=133MHz (=266DDR)
D=166MHz (=333DDR)
E=200MHz (=400DDR)
To recognise a CPU quickly, checkout this link.
Thanks Mellops.
The MHz setting must match your setting in the BIOS for FSB value, as it translates to the correct FSB setting for the CPU.
The best way to identify a processor is by using the OPN (Ordering Part Number) which can be found on the processor (E.g. AXDA 2700 D K V 3 D).
Detailed information on the code can be found in this AMD document. (Thanks Hans)
CPU Cooling
CPU cooler not made for your CPU, check if it can handle your CPU....
CPU cooler mounted wrong!, take it off and check it as it will fit 2 way's, but only 1 is the right one, examine very carefull!
The cooler has a lower part that needs to go over the bump (higher part) of the socket, if it's not over there it won't cool the entire dice and WILL give you trouble.
Also check if it's making contact with the entire dice of the CPU...
Make sure you regrease it again, the same grease/paste can't be used twice!
YOU MAY NEVER USE A THERMALPAD OR GREASE AGAIN! APPLY NEW EVERY TIME YOU TAKE THE COOLER OFF!!
Example of a good mounted cooler:
Example of wrongly mounted cooler: [maesus: Rukee found the pix]
Used too much silver-grease! It will shorten the bridges on the CPU, clean it and use white-paste.
(Silver-paste is not recommended in any case!)
The latest AMD XP CPU's (XP-2200 and above) require a copperbased heatsink because the dice is smaller and generates far more heat per square cm then the "old" CPU's do.
How to check the cooler before taking it off.
There is a simple way to check the cooler without taking it off.
You do this by first checking your idle temp with PCAlert, it should be below 50-55C.
Then you download a client from http://www.distributed.net, let this client run for about 10 minutes while monitoring the temps, after about 1 minute or so it should stabilize and your temp should have gone up about 10-15C (max).
If it still goes up or the system crashes, there is a big chance you mounted the CPU-cooler wrong.
When you can't run this check, try with FSB100, if the system does run the check then, it could be well that the cooler is mounted wrong or your powersupply doesn't have enough power.
***** YOU CAN'T CHECK THE CPU COOLER ON TEMPS OR FAN RUNNING, IT MUST BE TAKEN OFF THE CPU!!! *****
Cleaning the CPU and Cooler - thanks to Dragon60 for his addition.
An additional comments about this is what you clean the CPU with in this situation. The best thing to use is isopropyl alcohol. If this is not available then metholated spirits would do.
Make sure you allow the CPU to dry properly before you put it back in. This also means DO NOT try and clean it whilst it is still in the socket as some of the cleaning fluid, grease and dirt may get underneath and short some pins.
Last but not least. DO NOT use acetone to clean anything inside your PC. (or outside for that matter) It MAY not do any damage BUT it may disolve some parts.
Thanks Dragon60.
If you don't understand what we are talking about on this cooler matter, then read this link: AMD CPU & Cooling guide
Powersupplies
Powersupply too little, most commen cheap 300W CPU's can't handle an XP-1700 or above, try a better one to be sure.
Make sure your powersupply has about 185W combined on the 3.3+5V and that the 3.3V has 20A or above.
That should be enough for most systems.
On the latest boards the 12V has become very important too, expecialy with TBred CPU's.
Make sure yours can give 16A or more on the 12V line too.
I have found that a lot of cheap 350W will fail with modern boards and TBred CPU's.
Allway's make sure you have a decend PSU, it never fails to spent a bit more on that part!
Borrow a bigger one from a friend if you are not sure....
More info about powersupplies: Click here.
And the second you must read: Click here.
Powersupplies with these type of numbers on them or higher should be fine:
3.3V - 28A or better
5V - 30A or better
12V - 16A or better
Watch out!! Cheap PSU's like Q-Tec come nowhere near these figures!!
Do NOT trust the 300W or 400W rating on them!!!
Q-Tec is about the worst of them all!!
Metalclips
Stand-off's left between the board and the case, take the board out and check for too many of those metal-clips, they can shorten circuits and cause al sorts of problems (most of the time audio problems)
RAM
Ram problems, don't try to run with PC100 (SDram boards) when you have a 133FSB CPU, get PC133 ram of decend quality.
In any case, don't use cheap quality ram (Crucial seems decend, but give's a lot of problems, I consider these cheap quality too :P ), replace the ram with another brand to see if it fixes it....
DDR ram speeds:
Duron/Athlon-B =100FSB=PC-1600=DDR200
Athlon-C/XP upto 2600 =133FSB=PC-2100=DDR266
Athlon XP D-type and above =166FSB=PC-2700=DDR333
Athlon XP E-type and above =200FSB=PC-3200=DDR400
Higher DDR speeds are only a must if you try to overclock, they have no speed gain if run at the correct speed. You may use faster ram on a slower system, the speeds given are what is needed minimum.
Perform RAM test tools, ie http://www.memtest86.com if you suspect RAM is faulty, such as BSOD or data corruption. [added by Maesus]
Try your system allway's with 1 stick of ram, adding more sticks can give all the trouble too.
Some sticks just won't work in pair and a lot fail when you put 3 or more in the system.
When you want to use 3 sticks, make very sure you use the MSI tested ones, they are your best chance that they work without problems.
If still nothing, try to seat the ram in another slot, sometimes they work better in another slot.
Thanks boost
Or rise the Ram voltage a little, be carefull doing this!
Sometimes this works when you have a lot of ram in there.
BIOS
BIOS settings not right, clear the CMos and start with the default settings, if it works, try setting ONLY the FSB to 133 if needed, nothing more.....
And go further from there......
Clearing CMos
When you clear the CMos, make sure that all power is cut from the system.
This is done by takeing the wall-plug out or use the switch on the powersupply to turn it off.
On most boards, as far as I know all MSI boards, you must set the JBat1 to position 2-3 (clear position) for about 10 seconds, then set it back to 1-2 (keep data position)
After this your CMos should be cleared and you can turn the system back on.
In some rare cases it's needed to take the battery out too for a minute or so.
It can happen that the system will prompt you to set the BIOS again, go into the BIOS and set everything you need, then save the settings.
Thanks fguevara.
Harddisks
Harddisk is giving problems, most of the time with WD drive's, they are jumpered somewhat strange compared to others:
No jumper = Stand-Alone no other drive attached to the cable.
Jumper master = if you have a slave drive attached
Jumper slave = when it's slave to another drive
Harddisk is doing weird things:
Make sure you have connected the blue connector to the board, and don't let the other end of the cable unused, make sure there is a device connected to it.
The middle connector can be left into the air without problems if not needed.
IBM harddisks seem to fail a lot, try Drive-Fitness-Test on it, see if it has problems.
Other brand drives can have problems too, make sure they are ok, as harddisk failure can cause all sorts of problems.
Allway's be sure your harddisk is in tip-top shape, if not, replace it and try another to verify.
For more information read this: Click here.
To know what harddisks your motherboard support, use this link.
To enable harddisk over 137GB in Win2000 edit this registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Atapi\Parameters]
"EnableBigLba"=dword:00000001
The KT4 raid boards only support 1 harddisk on IDE3, the rest must be SATA drive's!!
Harddisk/power led not functioning - thanks to Tweetyoost
If your HD led or power led not work try to switch(wrong + or - side) the connectors on the motherboard.
leds will work only when + or - is correct
Thanks Tweetyoost.
Floppy drive's
If your floppy drive doesn't work or the led stay's on all the time.
Make sure the floppy is set correctly in the BIOS, as the BIOS doesn't autodetect a floppy drive.
Check the cable, make sure the twist in the cable is at the floppy-drive side.
If the light stay's on, flip the connector at the floppy-drive arround.
Sometimes it happens that even after all this, they still don't work, try with another drive from another brand.
Not able to enter the BIOS or lockup
When you try to enter the BIOS it won't go in there or
lockup, but your system is running fine.
This symtom can happen when your CPU-Cooler is giving spikes on the coolerwire.
Try with another brand of cooler to test if it solves it.
Keyboard and optical mouse lights stay on after power off[/U]
Some motherboards have a jumper called JKBV1, this jumper is located (mostly) near the keyboard connector, put it in the other position.
If your board doesn't have the jumper, try to find the following BIOS settings and turn them off:
resume on KBC
resume on PS/2
resume by alarm
USB ports not working[/U]
Check in the BIOS if the ports are enabled.
USB2.0 ports are supported in Win2000+SP3 and XP+SP1, just let the OS reinstall the ports and they should work.
Thanks Stygge
Replacing parts and the system won't boot after
It's never a good idea to replace stuff like CPU and ram without taking the board out of the case.
But if you still like to do so, please support the board, because if you don't you might bent the board a little and cause other components to make bad contact.
Allways support the board when you replace stuff, no matter what!
Also make sure your system can take the replacement, it could happen for example that your powersupply can't handle your changed videocard from GF2MX to GF4Ti4600.
Test all the parts in another system
Make sure that the new part is in good working order in the first place (in particular: videocard, CPU, memory): try it in another system, or have it demonstrated by the one you bought it from if possible.
Testing might also give you a clue on what is actually wrong in your own system.
Thanks HansH.
Checking the powersupply
Don't do this if you don't know what you are doing!
Disconnect the powersupply.
Orientate the 20pin Powerconnector with the clip up.
Locate pin 4 and pin 8 top row, mostly green and black wire.
Use a wire to short them (or better a 12V test lamp).
Now connect the power and the fan inside the powersupply should start spinning.
If it doesn't your powersupply maybe dead.
Thanks HansH.
KT4 users
Please read the Un-Official KT4 guide if you have CRC errors or strange crashes.
These can be BIOS problems.
In any case !!!Only flash if the system is stable!!!
Set default-settings and FSB100 to make it stable first!!!
Motherboards making a Siren-sound
If your board is making the sound of a firetruck, BEEP-BOOP-BEEP-BOOP...
Check the folowing:
1. CPU too hot
2. chassis intrusion was enabled in the BIOS
3. PSU is below min/max allowable value
Stutter in audio
Remove your antivirus software.
We have heard a few cases where the stuttering was created by badly behaving antivirus software.
Disable cpu halt command if it's in the BIOS (Thanks Pascal16)
Windows
Windows2000/XP won't run stable, try to disable APIC and install again....
Not all drivers/devices like the APIC.
Windows2000/XP won't install USB2.0, install the latest servicepak (SP3 Win2000 or SP1 WinXP).
Let Windows rediscover the USB ports, they should work now.
If you have driver or other problems and don't know what to do anymore but Windows does function without crashing, read this: Click here.

Nope, what for?
If you know what you are doing and you discharge yourself there is no need for such.
BTW, those bands are not that safe, if you use them wrongly you can electrocute yourself pretty easily

  • Troubleshooting Guide: Audio does not Work after a Certain Period of Time

Hello everyone, Thanks for choosing the HP Forums! If your sound recently stopped working on Windows 8.x or Windows Server 2012, and you suspect a Windows Update is involved, then look no further! This is the troubleshooting guide that will explain how to resolve the issue! Explanation: Currently, there is a Windows update that may be causing the sound on your computer to stop working. The update is KB2962407, and it is now an “Important” update. That means that it will be installed by Windows Update unless you hide it. This thread also covers generic sound troubleshooting that can resolve "no sound" issues. Before tackling the update itself, since a Windows update may not be the culprit, there is some troubleshooting that can be done. A Round of Troubleshooting: 1. Running the Audio Troubleshooting in Windows 8 can resolve the issue. It does contain the ability to eliminate any setting that affects sound. Here are some steps on how to run this troubleshooter: a) Hold down the “Windows” and “R” key and then type “troubleshooting” and hit Enter.b) A window will open. On the left, click “View All”, then “Playing Audio”.c) Click “Advanced” and run it as Administrator. Then click “Next” to complete the process. 2. Try creating a new user account. The changes forced by the update may only affect one user. This HP document shows you how to create a new user under the “Creating a new account in Windows 8” section: Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8) 3. Try a pair of headphones or external speakers. It will rule out where the issue lies if sound does not work through a second or third output device. 4. Another solution is to uninstall the driver manually then force it to be installed again:a) Open Device Manager, and go to the “Sound, video and game controller” section.b) Right-click on your audio driver and select “uninstall”.c) Restart the computer. This will force the hardware to write a new driver upon startup. 5. Finally, make sure that the remaining steps that you haven't tried from this document are attempted: No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8) New Inclusions: Disabling and enabling the sound driver has been tested with successful results enough for me to post here. These are the instructions to do this: a) Open Device Manager, and go to the “Sound, video and game controller” section.b) Right-click on your audio driver and select “disable”.c) Wait a minute, then right-click on it and select "enable" Also, A System Restore is also a valid troubleshooting step. This will return the computer to a point before the update and/or external source of the issue occurred. Here is a document on how to perform a System Restore: System Restore If you want something stronger, a Windows Refresh completely refreshes Windows 8, without affecting files: Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8) Also, here is a Windows sound troubleshooting tutorial. Just out of curiosity, I re-created the issue on a Windows 8 computer and went through this tutorial. It was able to resolve the issue: No sound in Windows  *Everything in italics  is currently un-tested, but will be tested as soon as possible. I believe these steps will help: In the search bar, type "services.msc" and hit Enter. Hold down the "Windows" key and "R" key. Type "services.msc" and hit Enter. Look for the following services: - Audio Service- Windows Audio- Windows Audio Endpoint Builder I want you to right-click each of those services, and select "Stop". When they are all stopped, right-click on each one again, and select "Start". As well, make sure each service's status is "Started" and their startup type is "Automatic". Troubleshooting the Update: At this point, unless you want to reinstall the operating system, the only other option is to tackle the update, KB2962407. Please note that the following troubleshooting is ONLY a workaround, for now, and only should be done if the computer has installed this update. First, you can try the Hotfix in this Microsoft document, specifically to address KB2962407: Windows RT, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012 update rollup: June 2014 If that doesn't help, then uninstalling the Windows Update, and then hiding it, is the only method of eliminating the issue if it caused by this update. Here is the procedure for uninstalling the update: 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Programs and Features”.2. Click on “View Installed Updates”. Look for the update with the ID number KB2962407.3. Right-click on the update and select “Uninstall”. Restart the computer. Next, here is the procedure for hiding the update: 1. Go into Control Panel, then click on “Windows Updates”.2. Click on “Check for Updates”. When the process is completed, is should find important update(s) available. Clicking on the message will open a window where the important update(s) is.3. Right-click on the KB2962407 update and select “Hide Update”. This will prevent the update from being installed next time Windows Updates are being installed. Conclusion:
At the end of this guide, you will have sound working again (assuming that the cause was the Windows Update, or at least software-based). Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks!
    Mario

  • Troubleshooting Guide To Boot Camp 2.1

Troubleshooting Guide To Boot Camp 2.1
With a Mac Book Pro Os X Leopard and Windows XP Pro. I am providing this guide because I spent literally days fixing various problems most related to bad drivers. If I can save you the Nightmare I had it will be worth my time to write this guide for you!
    Install Windows XP on FAT32
While using Mac if you ONLY want to be able to read XP files (NTFS or FAT32) then skip this section because OS X Leopard is able to correctly detect NTFS and FAT32 disks in READ ONLY mode.
However if you want to be able to read & write XP files (NTFS or FAT32) in Mac then you would install a program like Paragon NTFS or NTFS-3G. However once you do this you will experience this Problem:
Windows partition missing from Mac 'startup disk' menu when using NTFS-3G or Paragon NTFS in Mac (Bootcamp 2.1 fails to fails to show windows disk in startup menu after installing NTFS-3G or Paragon NTFS)
It is unclear who is to blame for this bug. Both Paragon and NTFS-3G DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX the problem so the finger is pointed at this being an Apple Boot Camp bug! Don't hold your breath for a bug fix from Apple because I saw people have been having this problem for several years. It would be nice if the Apple cared a bit more about the Windows people they are trying to win over but anyway we are greatful for Boot Camp (even if it is as buggy as ****).
First my personal experience, I had it working perfectly before and after loading NTFS-3G onto my Macbook. I also had it working perfectly with Paragon NTFS. Then after a few months I reinstalled XP. Suddenly it no longer worked! Very fustrating when you KNOW it can work perfectly. It took me several days to figure out that this due to the fact that I had first installed XP and formated as FAT32 but the second time had installed XP and formated as NTFS!!
ONLY KNOWN Solution for this problem :
Format XP using FAT32. Apple understands FAT32 and everything will work as normal!
Do not format using NTFS as Apple does not understand it and XP will be missing from the 'startup disk' menu!
NTFS users can use this work around solution :
Install Paragon NTFS and use Paragon to set your boot partition and then reboot.
    The least desirable solution :
Hold the ALT key down while booting and choose XP.
    Install Boot Camp version 2.1
Using the the disc that comes with your Apple Mac Book Pro.
After Installation update the following drivers to these versions or newer :
    Broadcom 802.11 Wireless (5.10.91.8) (4321AG) (*)
    Realtek HD Audio R2.27 (5.10.0.5874) (2009-06-16)
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT v185.85 (07.05.2009) (v6.14.11.8585)
    Note (*)
Broadcom 802.11 Wireless drivers must be force installed to 4321AG. You can do this after installation by using the device manager and updating the driver to 4321AG. These drivers are 'borrowed' from another Broadcom 802.11 Wireless device since an update for the BCM 4328 drivers are not available from Apple or Broadcom.
    Unresolved Issue
Back lighting of keyboard is not working in XP. Apple Bug?
Problems Fixed By Doing These Updates
Bootcamp KbdMgr.exe Latency Problems Slowing Your XP
I could not fix this problem but found an easy work around.
First check if your latency is being affected by the 'KbdMgr.exe' driver. Use 'DPC Latency Checker'. If the latency is green then you are OK! Skip Adead. If your latency is red then kill the 'KbdMgr.exe' in the task manager and check the latency. If it drops then this work around applies to you.
Open the Boot Camp directory in your Program Files directory. The real 'KbdMgr.exe' is renamed to something else like 'Boot Camp.exe' so that you can use it to boot back to Mac when you want to. Create a shortcut to the new name from from your desktop.
Then create an empty text file and give it the name 'KbdMgr.exe'. This will allow your PC to boot normally and run normally but will prevent Boot Camp loading automatically.
    Wireless Problems
The Broadcom 802.11 Wireless drivers for the (BCM 4328) are unstable and often loose connection or freeze or stop working for no reason. The driver that causes this problem is version 4.170.25.12 (20/09/2007) BCMWL5.SYS
    Sound Problems
The Broadcom 802.11 Wireless drivers (BCM 4328) drivers cause sound problems. Music or sound stutters or slows on playback. The driver that causes this problem is version 4.170.25.12 (20/09/2007) BCMWL5.SYS.
    Apple Touch Pad Problems
The drivers supplied on the Boot Camp disc from Apple work but do not install correctly for some unknown reason but the drivers do work once you get them installed. The driver install files are :
    AppleMultiTouchTrackPad.exe
    AppleTrackpad.exe
Your Apple Touch Pad Drivers are working when Device Manager shows :
    Apple MultiTouch
    Apple Multitouch Mouse
And you can do a right click by holding two fingers on the touch pad and doing a click
You can scroll up and down using two fingers. Adjust the wheel scrolling speed to one line at a time under mouse properties in the control panel.
To install the drivers correctly use the Device Manager and look under Human Interface Devices. You should find two Apple 'Touchpad' drivers listed with a (Yellow !) change these drivers to use the 'USB Human Interface Device' driver. Then install both 'Apple MultiTouch TrackPad' and 'Apple Trackpad'. This should automatically update the 'USB Human Interface Devices' to the correct working Apple drivers. This worked for me. However if you are still having problems you can try the General Driver Installation Tips.
    General Driver Installation Tips
Uninstall all devices drivers that are failing and reboot.
Make sure all non-Apple drivers are working properly. If not try and fix them first. I had a Logitech Mouse driver that was not working and suddenly when I fixed that at least half my Apple drivers started working. There was probably a resource conflict or some other relationship between the Logitech driver and the Apple Drivers.
If any driver is giving errors delete the physical driver file and reinstall! This is very useful when nothing you seem to do works. Sometimes you must physically delete the old driver file so that windows will correctly install the new one. I don't know the technical reasons for this only I found that this worked for me when I had to replace a Logitech Mouse driver after hours of fustration.
If you are busy in Device Manager and working with 'Human Interface Devices' and accidentally uninstall one of these drivers which are related to your mouse driver your mouse will stop working. Don't reboot, just unplug your mouse and plug it in again and Windows will autodetect a new mouse driver for you.
If you have been messing around and installing many drivers and your drivers still fail then try roll back the drivers until you can't anymore and then try one of the above methods again.

It does work, but I think it is hard based on scant details as to why or what is preventing BC 2.1 from updating. I will say that BC 2.1 came out last spring and there were lots of people having trouble and threads to prove it (and long ones).
You should have Apple Software Update Control Panel which had to update itself to 2.1.1 in order to receive future updates that way (catch 22 if you can't, seems to be only to prevent older owners using BootCamp 1.4 Beta from taking advantage of BootCamp 2.x).
Mac OS X DVD now being sold has 10.5.4 and BootCamp 2.1. I assume your DVD of Leopard is older?

  • SAP NetWeaver BPM Troubleshooting Guide

    Hi all,
I am not sure if you happen to see that the description of this forum had changed.
Thus I wanted to point your attention to a a page we recently added to it: The so called '[SAP NetWeaver BPM Troubleshooting Guide|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPMT]' tackles typical problems you may encounter when start using SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (BPM).
We came up with a step-by-step based guide similar to the one the colleagues from the Java Server Team created. It covers aspects like modeling, running and monitoring your SAP NetWeaver BPM processes.
For sure this guide is not complete. We added an inital set to it and would love to see it evolving together with your help. So feedback from your side is always appreciated. Furthermore it clearly cannot cover all aspects the [official documentation|https://help.sap.com/nwce] describes and definitely does not aim to compete with it.
So: Update your bookmarks and give it a try:

  • ABAP Mapbox Troubleshooting Guide

currently, I do have the situation, that no new activities are transferred to groupware (lotus). I am using ABAP Mapbox in CRM Release 5.0. Update messages on older activities do work!
regarding the troubleshooting guide by mr. stephenson in this forum, I do have the following questions:
1.) How can I figure out, whether a xml-message (iCal or vCard) has been generated by the Mapbox. I do have the BDoc-Id (out of smw01) but i dont find entries in CRMD_MBA_GUISTOR. This table contains 1,2 million entries which makes it hard to find the specific message, since that table doesnot contain a timestamp.
I turned on Trace in ISPCFG and I see in GWA_01 out trace, that my message (with tRFC-ID) seems to be processed, but I dont know, how? Meaning, I dont get an error or a info, if there was nothing to do,...
2.) How can I restart the "Abap Mapbox" or bring it to an consistent starting state?
3.) what is the relation between the tables? Any documentation available
    CRMD_MBA_GUISTOR.
    CRMD_MBA_MSGSTOR.
    CMWD_MBF_PAIR.

    current investigation results:
1.) since the bdic-id generation seems to be sequential, the table CRMD_MBA_GUISTOR can be sorted by mbkey. if your message doesn't apperar in the end, no message is generated. Attention: don't how update behaves, so make sure you cteate new activities.
as mentioned before, the ISP trace is less usefull
    2.) and 3.) still open
    ABAP Mapbox logging
It might be usefull, to turn on "logging". This can be done in table ISPCFG:
a.) Find the row CRM_MAPBOX and set PARVAL2=X.
    b.) run your test
c.) run transaction SLG1, you might filter on your user.
The output of logging indicates basic processing info. For my issue it didn't help, maybe for yours. I figured out, that a strange/ wrong "Ansprechpartner" Relation was missing on the activity. Therefore no email could be found and therefore no message has been generated.

    Hi SuperMario1,
thanks for the update. however, it seems that your sulution is just a way of bypassing the problem, and not a fix. this kind of sulutions are problematic and can cause other problems.
i don't think it is acceptable that the speakers on HP's laptops would stop functioning because of a windows update. what guaranties that tomorrow, next month, or six months from now something else won't stop working due to another windows update? A functioning speakers is very basic and essential. Is someone working on fixing that?
i'm very much unpleased with the way this issue is being managed by your people. beside not offering a legit sulution, it took you huys a long time to figure out that infect there is a broad problem here. or maybe it didn't, but for some reasone you it seems ok to not update your customers about this. so many users have reported in the past few days the exact same problem, and have recieved from the support team the same generic and not helpfull reasponse. why is this?

  • Troubleshooting Guide for 1.4.2 ???

I hope this is a good place for this question.
I have a troubleshooting guide for Java 5 (jdk50_ts_guide.pdf) that has a lot of information in it.
Is there such a guide for 1.4.2?
To focus the request, I may soon be looking at a problem at a NASA site where JVM crashes are curring frequently and we are having trouble interpreting what the Crash File is telling us. I noticed that the 5.0 version addresses the format and content of 5.0 JVM crash files and has at least SOME information in it. I was wondering about a guide like this that discusses the 1.4.2 JVM.
Thanks, in advance, for any help that anyone might be able to provide.
    Bob

We are working on making it available. It may still be a few days before
    it shows up.
    Thanks,
    /Staffan

I will assum that you are using the latest version of iTunes 11. Do you even see the devices heading in the sidebar or do you even see the sidebar? If not, go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu so that it is visible.

  • Mobile version of the forum now available!

I am happy to tell you that we have just launched a mobile-friendly version of this forum!
It works automatically by detecting your device and browser, so just visit www.nokia.com/discussions (or any local Nokia site's forum url) on your phone, and you should get this lighter and faster version.
You can use all main forum functionalities: register and login, browse all topics, start new ones and reply. You can create your own mobile signature that's only shown to other mobile users.
This is our first version and we haven't tested it with every Nokia model, so please tell us what you think - do you like it, is something not working, what would you like to see added in the future..?
EDIT - Seems like we just found our first bug - for some odd reason some of the text was displayed white on a white background, so some of the posts were unreadable.
We're working on this, and I've just switched off the mobile view for a while.
I wrote all my posts from 2005-2011 as an "Admin" for this community. I still work for Nokia as an external consultant, so my rank in all posts is now "Employee".

We've noticed the same - it seems that the Nokia site's header is loaded before the browser is detected and the mobile version is switched on. I hope we can do something about this.

  • Google maps keeps giving "Still loading... Slow? Use the troubleshooting guide or basic HTML" message and won't load maps

I go to Google Maps and try to enter address in search bar.
Message pops up: "Still loading... Slow? Use the troubleshooting guide or basic HTML"
Nothing ever comes up -- map does not load.
If I append "q?=us" to url (below) (without quotes), it works.

    &q=us does not work.
Starting firefox in safe mode does not work
Map loads but entire page except main menu is non interactive.
"Still loading... Slow? Use the troubleshooting guide or basic HTML"
It comes up on google.com.au but not google.com
It happened after they added the new privacy popup with with MapGL also being added.
Disabling all cookies with Web Developer or browsing in private mode works but when settings are put back to normal it stops working.
I deleted all cookies and cleared cache but that did not help. Strange that clearing cookies did not solve the problem because disabling cookies works.
I tested with another browser and it works... but I want firefox forever.
