Amdccle won't open even though qt is installed

I tried arch for the first time about a month ago and have learned a ton already.  However I am posting in the newb corner because this seems like a pretty newby issue.  I have two installations of arch linux.  This may be unusual, but I am using linux primarily for gaming and emulation and find that arch has the best performance.  I have one install with open source radeon driver so I can use retroarch with its unique kms feature.  I have another install with catalyst proprietary installed so I can play my steam games and other emulators.  Everything is great except I cannot get into catalyst control center on my newer installation after installing fglrx.  The driver itself is working fine but I need to get into CCC to set some things up manually.
I already have qt installed and I am recieving the error
amdcccle: error while loading shared libraries: libQtGui.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I was guessing maybe it is looking for qt4 when I actually have qt5 installed.  This is just a guess however and don't really have a clue how to fix it.  If it matters I am using openbox.  Alternatively if anyone can just tell me how to enable tear free video manually via a config file that would also be helpful as that is what I am most concerned with at the moment.

actually I seem to have solved it by installing dbus-qt, but thank you for the reply.  I decided to give up on the proprietary driver after it almost destroyed my laptop last night (wouldn't boot for an hour after a crash).  Its not worth it so I'll stick with open source drivers anyhow.  Thanks again

  • TB won't open even though Task Manager says its running. Why?

    Windows 8.1.
TB worked fine 'til few days ago.
Now it won't open even though Task Manager indicates it's running.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Thunderbird without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Thunderbird and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Thunderbird.

I-Photo won't open even though I have upgraded to OS X Yosemite and downloaded the I-Photo upgrader.
But have you run the the iPhoto Library upgrader? It is installed in Applications > Utilities. Launch it and direct it to your iPhoto library.
Which version of iPhoto did you upgrade from?
The upgrader is only necessary, if you have been  running iPhoto7.1.2 or earlier.

  • My "photo's" won't open even though i have used the camera, it says i have no photos or the App fails to open all together

even though i have used my camera, when i click at the bottom left to view my captured images the app closes. when i go to "photo's" the app either fails to open or says i have no photos. what am i doing wrong? i have owed an iphone for 3 years and this has never happened.

Sounds to me like the file is probably corrupt. If you had hard drive corruption or damage, that could easily result in recovered files not being fully intact. If you were trying to recover accidentally deleted files, it's possible they might have been partially overwritten before recovering. There are never any guarantees with file recovery.
Without more information on the circumstances that led you to try recovery, it's hard to give advice on what to try from here. You could always try another file recovery tool, like Data Rescue 3. Just be sure you're taking appropriate precautions when doing recovery. See Recovering deleted files.

  • Apple mail won't open even though the amount of new mail is shown in top right corner of application?

I click to open the mail application but it never opens.  After waiting a few minutes the amount of notifications I have is shown on the icon but it still won't open.  Mail worked fine on my mac until I updated to Mavericks.  Please help!! I've already tried restarting and I also tried deleting my mail account off of mail and then adding it back but it still doesn't work.  I never made a backup so I can't go back to a previous version and I can't try a clean install.

I'm having almost the same trouble, and yes I did update to Safari 4 while I was still in Leopard 10.5.7. Now, in 10.6.1 my Mail app is suddenly getting this exception in the console log when trying to send via SMTP (to a server that the "connection doctor" validates as OK"):

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper 2.0.1
        2. AppDelete 3.2.6
        3. Automaton 1.50
        4. Hazel

  • I can't open NEF files of my Nikon D800 in PS CS 5.1 even though I have installed Camera Raw 6.7

I can't open NEF files of my Nikon D800 in PS CS 5.1 even though I have installed Camera Raw 6.7.
    What's the problem?
    Any solutions?
    Thx!

The D800 is listed as needing ACR 6.7/7.1.  That raises a red flag that might indicate that 7.1 is needed.  Since that requires CS6 you can not use that version.  If others confirm you need 7.1 you either have to upgrade or use the DNG converter with latest version, which I think is 8.1.

With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here).  Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here.  If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here.  If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed.  I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.

Have you run the iPhoto Library Upgrader? You need to direct it to the location of your old iPhoto Library by clicking the "Choose Library" button in the lower right corner of the panel you are seeing when the upgrade starts.

  • After installing 3.6 FF won't open even in the safe mode, I click on the icon and nothing happens at all

I installed 3.6 and now FF won't open even in the safe mode. I restored my computer setting back to where I was running 3.5.13 but it still doesn't work...some files must have been deleted when I upgraded that weren't put back even when going back to the older version but I have no idea what to look for or what to do even if I find them. Can you please help me?

Using system restore can create problems as well as solving them. I have seen system restore destroy a Firefox setup. The installation may be OK but to be sure perform a clean install
    # [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox Uninstall Firefox]
    # Delete the Firefox [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory Installation directory], default location C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
    # Download the latest version from http://www.mozilla.com/ and install it
If Firefox still does not start, try creating a new profile folder. Firefox stores user data in a profile folder, creating a new profile will show if the problem is with the old profile. For how to do that see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows creating a new Firefox profile on Windows].
If the new profile works, you can copy selected data such as bookmarks and passwords to the new profile. For details see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox transferring data to a new profile]. Do not copy the preferences file, and it is best to re-install any add-ons.

My rented movie won't play, even though it shows "rented".  What gives?

I have a similar issue.  My Dell Latitude is running Windows Pro 8.1 and iTunes 11.1.3.8.  It looks like it's playing, but it isn't.
Things seemed to work fine before the 8.1 update.  I fear I will have to rollback to 8.0 because the sound no longer works on the computer unless you use the headphone jack.
Podcasts and music behave the same way, they appear to be playing, but the timer is not progressing for them either.
This may be the combination of 8.1 and 11.1.3.8

  • The screen orientation won't change even though it shows orientation as unlocked

the screen orientation won't change even though it shows orientation as unlocked on the bottom of the screen and when I release the side button.  Any ideas?

If rotation lock is not set (i.e. there is no lock symbol next to the battery indicator at the top of the screen, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085), then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
