AME appears to not be using CUDA or Open CL GPU on MAC

I'm running the latest version of PP and AME CC and also have a supported nVidia card on this iMac, which is the GeForce GT 750M. I also have the latest CUDA drivers for Mac.
What's happening is PP is using the CUDA and OpenCL drivers just fine, but AME does not appear to be. I can switch between the different renderers in AME and the activity monitor in OSX will display the same process usage for the QT32 server regardless of what setting the render is set to (CUDA,OpenCL or Software)
AME had always appeard to be running slow and perhaps this is why.
Can't figure out why this is happening. Thanks for any help.

The issue I believe I'm having appears to be with only AME. PP is using the CUDA render engine just fine, with the GT 750M and I can confirm that in the Activity Monitor in OSX.
What's odd is AME gives a choice to use the CUDA driver or software rendering. When I render a test clip with CUDA rendering, then on the Software only render, there is no difference in the Activity monitor. It appears that the CPU is doing all the rendering regardless of what the render choice is set to.
PP behaves much differently as I can tell a difference when using GPU optimized effects, such as the Gaussian blur vs CPU only rendering.
Could there be an issue with AME using the GPU for exports on a Mac?

Need reasons not to use SMB/win2003 as file server for mac clients

i'm looking for reasons not to use windwos2003 as fileserver with smb for use with os x in a graphic production environment.
can someone help? just need a sum up for "internal use"
smb seems to be slower than afp

Well, it tends to be that saving over the network from Adobe and Quark apps "just works better" over AFP than it does over SMB.
Put another way, people wouldn't be paying $4000 for a software license form Extreme-ZIP so they can serve AFP from a Windows 2003 server if there wasn't a real benefit to this. You can get an Xserve for this same $4000

Recently both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

When I close Photoshop CS6, the following message appears: "Could not save Preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file.

When I quit Photoshop CS6, the following message appears:

I have checked the Sharing and Permissions section of the "Get Info" panel accessed from the Finder and I have set Read and Write Privileges for my user account for Photoshop CS6. System and Admin are also set to Read and Write.
I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Version 10.9.5 and have all available updates for Photoshop CS6, Lightroom 5 and Bridge CS6.
I tried uninstalling the program and downloading it again and reinstalling, but nothing changed.
Can you help?

Turn it into the local police department with an explanation as to who you tried to contact and what they told you. That's the only safe procedure, as otherwise the owner could report the iPod as stolen, even though you tried to return it, and get you into trouble.

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

"Non rectangular objects will not appear correctly when exported using CSS."

I am using Ind CC 2014 exporting a document to a reflowable epub. The document contains an .ai image. The image exports correctly in some parts of the.epub but not others, where it is distorted. There is a warning on export :"Non rectangular objects will not appear correctly when exported using CSS." Any suggestions appreciated.

FYI, the file is a photographic panorama based on several .CR2 photos taken in July, 2012 and processed in CS5's camera RAW/Photoshop. Beyond the metadata, here are no fonts or text in the file.
1. I changed Maximize ...File Capability from "Never" to "Always" and the flattened file saved and loaded OK, though I can't figure why given Adobe's description of this option. "If you work with PSD and PSB files in older versions of Photoshop or applications that don’t support layers, you can add a flattened version of the image to the saved file...". The file saved in this manner is ~8% larger and is not my preference as a routine since I've TB's of photo files. By the way, out of thousands of .psd/.psb files, the one being discussed is the first to give me the error.
2. I've tried saving/reloading the file on another computer with Win XP Sp3/CS5...again with Maximize Capability OFF. Same problem. Turn ON Maximize Capability and it works. As with the Win 8 machine, Bridge could neither create a thumbnail or read Metadata.
3. I've purged the Bridge Cache, made sure there were no old PS page files, reset PS preferences, and disabled my 2 plugins with no change in the problem. Windows and Adobe progs are all updated. Saving to a different HDD has no effect.
The problem occurs on 2 computers (Win XP/Win 8), two versioins of Photoshop (CS5/CS6), and "Maximize" On/Off togles the problem. My guess it is a bug in PSD processing routines.
If I can't find a fix, will keep with Maximize ON and deal with the larger files that result...the cost of insurance, I suppose.
