AME renders incomplete output MPEG2 files from my h264 footage

I'm trying to crrate Mepg2-DVD files for output to dvd, from canon DSLR footage, but somhow AME does not render the whole work area an loses the last 30-40secons of the clip on export.
Any help?
MY AME settings are : Codec : Mainconcept Mpeg Video - quality 5
Tv Standard : PAL
Frame Rate : 25
Fioeld order : progressive
Pixel aspect ratio stanard 4:3(1,094)
Bitrate encoding : VBR Two Pass
Min Bitrare 3
Target bitrate: 3.69
Max bitrate : 4
GOP settings : m Frames 3
n Frames 12
Source range : work area
Working on an 3.5ghx i7 an a gtx 670 for cuda ( with the ammended text file for enabling cuda on this card)
MPE with CUDA acceleration turned on.
This happens in both 1 pas an 2 pass vbr, but not when I export to h264 ....this seems to be a bug in AME! Is it possble though? How long has these codecs been around!! ?

Ok, I see this is a Quicktimeplayer mistake .... somehow Quicktime player does not play the wholf of the file. It all seemed fine once I opened it in MPEG streamclip! ^&%$%*$ Half a day waste thinking AME is broken and then it ends up being Apple ... Their software is just getting WORSE!

  • Not receiving the output xml file from BPM

    Hello
    I am doing a scenario where I'd be sending two files in text format to the BPM workflow which would be using Fork and Correlation to merge these two files into one file and send the output xml file as receiver. Problem is that the two files are successfully converted into the xml messages and are displayed in SXMB_MONI but the output file which would be received from BPM engine as receiver is not being generated and displayed in SXMB_MONI as well as RWB. Please suggest any probable solution.
    Thanks.

    I don't think you can manipulate .ai files in Flex /
    AIR.

  • Creating mpeg2 file from a quicktime file

    I have a laptop with quicktime 7.1.1 pro and I can export to mpeg2. My new G5 with quicktime 7.1.2 pro no longer has that option. I've been all over the internet trying puchase a 3rd party conversion software. Since apple compressor does not embed the audio into the mpeg file. it seperates video from audio.
    I've tried mpeg Streamclip, mccoder from main concept to no avail.
    Is there any hope?

    I am not sure he ends up with an .mpg file in approved MPEG format with this method, succinct as it is. Also your directions starting with a VOB mean he is starting with an already compliant MPEG2 file in which case he can just edit in Streamclip and save it as an MPEG file.
    There is a solution however - use Toast.
    Add just about ANY format of video to the Toast video tab -on the left you are selecting make DVD Video. Toast will tell you if you have some oddball codec it will choke on. QT is fine.
    In preferences you should also select the option to only manually delete coverted items (e.g. MPEG assets). MOre later.
    Make a DVD with even one file, select a bit rate in the 5Mb/s and up range. Use CBR or VBR.
    Save the .disc file then select save as disk image, which makes a .toast file that Toast will mount as a DVD. Mount that and rip the VOB to the desktop - you can rename that to filename.mpeg as it is an MPEG2 file and open in MPEG Streamclip to trim etc., and resave as an MPEG as well.
    In the Roxio Converted Items folder you will have an M2V and .ac3 audio file of the converted clip which come in handy as well should you need them.

  • Mpeg2 Files from DVD

    Is there a way, or program, to take a burned DVD and pull the mpeg2 files off of it? I have some burned DVD's that we need to add subtitles to. I was thinking of either capturing them or taking them into toast and making dv files and then making those mpeg2s and then going into DVD studio pro.
    Basically I want the best quality and the most efficient way. If I can just grab Mpeg2s right off the disc, then quality and time are saved.
    Thanks.

    Thanks, do you recomend a certain one?
    I will not be editing them, just adding subtitle streams in DVDSP4.

  • Editing & output of files from Canon Vixia m30 to .mov

    I'm running a dual core Vista machine with 4 megs ram. I have the paid version of Elements 9
    I tape actors auditioning for movie roles. Most producers/agencies want .mov files.
    Not only that, they sometimes want nearly 5 minutes of tape in under 15 megs!
    No problem in the past with elements 4.0 and mini-dvd tapes.
    But now, and I'm sure it's because I don't have the right import and edit project setup, the files, even small ones, look muddy and/or pixilated.
    I *think" I should be shooting in FXP hi def format and editing the avchd files in Elements 9 then exporting as a .mov
    Only once so far has the output not looked pixilated and muddy. (For the life of me I cant remember if I had transcoded to .avi or wmv and edited from there.
    I did indeed try various settings in the advanced section for mov output.
    ANY advice for the type of settings I should use to shoot, import and output to mov's would be GREATLY appreciated.
    I know the quality of files longer than a couple of minutes will be degraded, that's fine, (I even use 320x240,)but for even small files to look bad means I don't have the correct setup.
    Thanks in advance folks!
    RJ

    They will be viewed on computers as files only and most talent agencies and producers want .mov's only. As long as the actor's eyes are clear, they don't care much as to real quality. They know quality is lowered, especially on 4-5 minute submissions. Files are sent usually be YouSendIt, or directly to talent agents as .mov file attachments. Some are using Youtube and that's great as file sizes don't matter.
    After reading some of your stuff, (I'm buying the book btw!) ... I do think I'm closing in on the right preset and camera settings now.
    I still need to tweak for larger frame size like 720X??? (I can't remember, so used to 4:3 instead of 6X9!)) and rather than the old amd small 420X280. Along with keeping the size down with the kbps settings and "quality" slider in "advanced settings."
    Upper field I know is important with .mov's and since the camera records PF30 settings as 60i, I'm honing in on the right preset.
    Wow! There's lots to learn, but once I get it right, the actual production should be a breeze even on my rather old dual core pc, as again these are relatively short pieces.
    Again, any other ideas are greatly appreciated.
    I appreciate this community very much and hope to shed my newbie status soon!

  • Having trouble exporting mpeg2 files from FCP 3 - please help me!

    I haven't made a DVD for a little while, in the meantime have upgraded my operating system from 10.3 to 10.4 and am completely up to date with QT etc. I have Final Cut Pro 3, DVD Studio Pro 1.5 and Quicktime 7.3. The problem now is that when I try to export my edited video as mpeg2 from FCP, FCP immediately quits- I just can't figure it out... it leaves a file icon in the destination folder but apparently the error in the crash report means that I'm trying to write to a read only destination!?

    Can you use DVDSP to do the encoding for you?
    FCP3 was really not intended to be run from Tiger, in fact, I believe it will not install on a clean 10.4 disk.

  • Is there a way to output .M4v files from PE 10?

    Hi
    I have an Apple iPod, it will only take .m4v video files.
    I have been converting them after exporting them but I'm having some problems with that.
    Some of the files won't play on the iPad even after being converted or at least iTunes say they won't!
    Since it thinks they won't it won't upload them to the iPad3.
    They will play if I move then there with Dropbox.
    But I havne't gotten any ideas from the IPod forum.
    Anyway I thought that if I could create them directly in PE that maybe it would solve the problem.
    Thanks for the help...
    Mike

    Hi Bill
    I haven't gotten back to PE yet, i've been trying to figure out how to use iFile and DropBox together.
    I can import the videos I have into iFile and they work OK without getting iTunes involved.
    I'm not British myself I live in Michigan, but we have been to England and Scotland a number of times, and still have friends there.
    These came about because of our dogs and the fact that a friend of ours from this area, married a Scott and moved there,
    We have had Scottish Deerhounds for almost 40 years.
    Lucy grew out of the Lucy voice from  Acapela Group and Text Aloud, text to speech software.
    One day a friend told me a joke that I really thought was funny.
    I decided to animate it and send it to him.
    I already had the Lucy voice.
    All the sounds on my computer are Lucy, i.e. when I empty the recycle bin she says, "Enough of This Trash", and when I get Mail she says "You've got new mail Mike. can you believe that!" etc.
    I think that Lucy is by far the most realistic computer voice that I've ever heard.
    Anyway since I wanted to animate the joke I had to create a character to go with the voice, so Lucy was born.
    The first one was really simple, just Lucy on a dark background telling the joke.
    Now when I do them it's as much for the process as it is for the final result.
    I try and do new things with each video, like the sailboat, where I rocked the image from side to side to make it look like the boat was moving.
    I work on them on and off until I finish them and I have several in the works now that will get done eventually.
    The Lucy about the word vegetarian one I did a couple of days ago in just a few hours, to send to a friend who is somewhat vocal about eating right..
    Anyway thanks for the help.
    I'll try Neal's solution and let you know how it goes.

  • Output xml file from data in a drag/drop AIR app.

    I am interested in creating a WYSIWYG drag/drop AIR app. in
    which I can drag art and other components, then export the (x,y)
    positions of the components and other info into an xml file. I am
    interested in using .ai files instead of raster based art. Will
    Flex/AIR app. support this format? I am just starting to work with

  • MPEG2 files cause Finder to repeatedly relaunch...why?

    Last night (and into this morning) I reinstalled all the components of FCP Studio 4.5 because I was having problems (Compressor wouldn't process, Motion wouldn't even start, etc.). This morning I exported an MPEG2 file from FCP 4.5 using the QT conversion option to my desktop because Compressor still wouldn't work (the dreaded "couldn't connect to background" yadda yadda yadda) and I wanted to burn it to a CD (it's all of 20 seconds long). I had to restart the computer, and when I did, the Finder kept quititng and trying to relaunch over and over (after about 2 seconds of trying).
    I did some Googling and found out that the new security update for 10.4.9 causes some issues with MPEG2 files (something about not being able to display the preview correctly).
    Firstly, I know I'm using an older version of FCP, but why can we create MPEG2 files if the operating system can't handle them? If they cause the system to crash, then where am I supposed to save them to so I can use them in DVD SP? I'd love to be able to follow the normal workflow (from FCP/Motion to Compressor to DVD SP), but I can't do that if I can't get Compressor to work the right way. I know there's some problem with QMaster, but I'm not sure what to do about it.
    Any suggestions? I am using FCP HD Studio 4.5 on a G5 Dual 2GHz PowerPC running 10.4.9 with 1.5GB RAM and plenty of disc space. I've used all these apps in the past (a few months ago) with no problems, but now there seems to be all sorts of problems.
    Thanks to everyone, as usual.
    Lloyd Lathrop
    G5 dual 2G   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   1.5GB RAM, 160G internal, 400G internal, 140GB Firewire

    I remember something like this happening last time I tried to use Compressor, so I exported a QT file and used that in DVD SP.
    Can you tell what's wrong?

  • Junk Characters in the output XML file after Parsing

    Hi
    I am using DOM parser to parse an XML file.
    After parsing the input XML file, i am fetching some contents
    from the same and also putting the same contents in the parsed output file which is also an XML file.
    The problem here is that the after putting the contents to the output XML file from the input XML file,
    some junk character appears at the end of each and every tag in the outputfile.
    The junk character is some thing like this : " ampersand hash thirteen and a semicolon "
    (*THE MESSAGE DID NOT ACCEPT THE SYMBOLS KINDLY TRANSLATE THE ABOVE WORDINGS*
    INTO SYMBOLS)
    This character gets appended at the end of each and every tag in the output file due to which the output file
    is not recognised as an XML file.
    Please let me know as to why is this character appearing and also please suggest some solution
    for the same.
    -Thanks in Advance.

  • HT201840 What is the best Midi player to play Midi files from my Mac to my keyboard?

    I am having trouble outputing midi files from my Mac to my Clavanova keyboard. I am using a an XMIDI 1x1. When I use it on a Windows computers Window Media Players opens and it works just fine. I have also tested it in Midi Studio and it works. I just can't get files to play on my keyboard.

    The deal with syncing contacts is that you either do so through iTunes, with a supported application on your computer, or over-the-air with something like iCloud. You don't do both at the same time. Doing so will create duplicates & a mess. As to whether one is better than the other, that's up to you. Over-the-air keeps everything in sync across all your devices, automatically, but relies on the stability of the iCloud servers. With your computer, requires that you regularly sync, to keep stuff updated, and that you maintain a current backup.

  • Does iMovie automatically convert mpeg2 files that are opened in iMovie?

    I want to know if I open mpeg2 files from a Sony Handycam into iMovie, if they will automatically be converted into .mov or .m4v files.

    No. mpeg2 is the highly compressed final delivery format of a DVD and not intended for further editing.
    You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
    which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    (unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
    Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
    For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
    Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
    And from the TOU of these forums:
    Keep within the Law
    No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.
    Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.
    If you are running Lion:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
    The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it.
    To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
    The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

  • Rendering blue files from PP and queueing to AME locking up

    Have upgraded my mac with the latet OS and CS5.5.
    I haven't got to the bottom of things yet but my adobe media encoder locks up when queued renders start.
    SO... what's the use of AME if I can't use the encoder for queueing etc.
    I have also been getting a blue only output from various rendered files from PP, when I delete alphas from files on the timeline
    PP seems to render normally.
    Too busy to nut things out at the moment, trying to get files out the door, anyone got any ideas.
    One would of thought 5.5 would not introduce probs that were not evident in version 5 !!

    1. Why is that?
    Files on the desktop slow down your machine, because the Finder has to constantly keep redrawing the icons and names.
    2. I have a widget called Maintidigit that I run usually once a week that does daily/weekly/monthly maintenance. I also repair permissions maybe once/twice a month.
    These are not necessary. Read this:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/133684/2008/06/maintenance_intro.html
    The thing you're not doing that you should be is repairing the hard drive periodically. Doing it before installing every OS update would be sufficient.
    I have a time capsule so I have backups running but I've used a program to make that run every 4 hours. I guess that's about it.
    Backups are good, but that's not a diagnostic.

  • Anyone know how to output an XML file from ABAP to a non sapgui location?

    I have a program that creates XML and then outputs a file via CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download. But now I want to execute the program in background mode and therefore I need to be able to output that XML to a NON sapgui file location. Current code creates the XML to an internal table which is binary then the gui_download method converts that to output XML. .  Does anyone know how I can change the code to either a) output the XML to an internal table which can be output via, say, a TRANSFER command..or, b) output the created binary table of XML to a NON sapgui file location?
    Excerpts from current code are as follows:
    first the XML is created (to the binary file)
          Creating a ixml factory
      l_ixml = cl_ixml=>create( ).
          Creating the dom object model
      l_document = l_ixml->create_document( ).
          Fill root node with value XML
      l_element_xml  = l_document->create_simple_element(
                  name = 'XML'
                  parent = l_document ).
          Create tag 'HEADER' as child of 'XML'
      l_element_header  = l_document->create_simple_element(
                  name = 'HEADER'
                  parent = l_element_xml  ).
    header information about the file and general data about the fleet follows
      l_value = c_fleet_import.
      l_element_dummy  = l_document->create_simple_element(
                name = 'TYPE'
                value = l_value
                parent = l_element_header ).
    etc.......
    then the xml is connected to the stream factory and rendered
      Creating a stream factory
      l_streamfactory = l_ixml->create_stream_factory( ).
      Connect internal XML table to stream factory
      l_ostream = l_streamfactory->create_ostream_itable( table = l_xml_table ).
      Rendering the document
      l_renderer = l_ixml->create_renderer( ostream  = l_ostream
                                            document = l_document ).
      l_rc = l_renderer->render( ).
      Saving the XML document
      l_xml_size = l_ostream->get_num_written_raw( ).
    and then output to the file
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
        CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
           EXPORTING
             bin_filesize = l_xml_size
            filename     = 'g:\sapdms\BSCC-DEV\EFPAC XML Files\ALL.xml'

             data_tab     = l_xml_table

    as implied by the comments the method above will successfully output the XML file to the g:drive but will not output to /TRICK/ location, which is where I need it to go in a background mode run.
    This is a problem which has defeated all our local expertise and I would appreciate any help given... Barry Jones

    Try this code below:
    data  l_xml_table2  type table of xml_line with header line.
    W_filename - This is a Path.
      if w_filename(02) = '
        open dataset w_filename for output in binary mode.
        if sy-subrc = 0.
          l_xml_table2[] = l_xml_table[].
          loop at l_xml_table2.
            transfer l_xml_table2 to w_filename.
          endloop.
        endif.
        close dataset w_filename.
      else.
        call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
