American Express Gift Cards/BestBuy online

This is a strange issue but i hope i can get some help on it. I would like to purchase a Roomba 880. According to you website and my check a the local store, this can only be ordered online and ship to my place which isn't a big deal. The problem i have is i have around 450.00 in American Express Gift Cards and from what i read they have to be manually scanned at the store for the cards to work. So i guess the to questions i have can i go the the Best Buy store and use my American Express GiftCards to buy Best Buy gift cards and then use them to order the Roomba online or can i go to the store and order the Roomba to be shipped to my place but pay for it at the store using the giftcards.

Welcome to the forum. No question is too strange for us. I can imagine it would be a little difficult to determine how you can purchase the Roomba if American Express gift cards cannot be used online, and I would be happy to help you figure this out.
I recommend visiting your local store where you can purchase Best Buy gift cards to order it online. You can also inquire if they can order it for you to avoid any further hassle. Please let me know if you encounter any problems or have any further questions.

How do you redeem a American express gift card

You "SHOULD" be able to use the american express gift card like any other credit card. That said, there may be a problem where the system (itunes store) is unable to verify the card because there is no associated address. If that is the case, and you want to use the funds in iTunes, buy iTunes gift cards with the card (at a physical store like Walmart or BestBuy), and then redeem them. If you check around, you can sometimes find iTunes cards that you can purchase where you pay less than the face value (a $50 card for $45, or similar).

I received an American Express gift card for Christmas and would like to use it in the itunes music store. I tried to use it like a credit card, but it was denied because of the extra code that's needed. Will I just have to take this card and purchase an itunes gift card? Please help!!!!

I believe u would have to call American Express customer service (number should be on the back of the card) and then get it activated so u can use it online, they then should give u that special code u need, hope that helps!!

No. The iTunes stores only accept credit cards or iTunes gift cards as well as PayPal in the US.

I was wondering if I can use a American iTunes Gift Card to buy games from the US Store and gift them to my main account (which uses Euroes).
There some apps which are exclusive for US citizens and I would like to get some of them as well!

Sorry but no. Gift cards can only be redeemed from the same country from which they were purchased.

Using American Express Gift Points on iTunes Plus

Have been redeeming Amex points to download songs on iTunes. Does anyone know if this will work with iTunes Plus? What is the advantage of having iTunes Plus, or is it something one doesn't really need? Is there a charge for this? I like getting my songs free with these gift points, but I don't want to have to pay extra for anything!

American Express Points CAN be used for songs only. When upgrading your presently existing Library, iTunes hits your credit card for 30 cents for as many songs that needed upgrading.. Thanks to all who helped.

Okay, so I understand the whole other branch that's affiliated with the debit or credit needs to verify the account anf that the charge is definitely only temporary... My question is how does that work with a gift card? Let's say it's an American Express gift card, would the verification notice go to American Express? And, just a shot in the dark, what is the usual time frame for the return? I understand I can't get a definite answer so an estimate or educated guess is worth just as much as the real deal.I know it's just a dollar.I'm curious as to when because under certain circumstances the value of just one dollar can raise very rapidly. Itunes (UK) won't accept my American Express?

Hi, I tried to make an account with itunes using my American Express Red card but after typing in all the details correctly several times, itunes kept saying it was an unvalid form of payment for UK itunes. Has anyone else had this problem?

Have been in touch with iTunes and the response from them is that they do not accept American Express Red cards at the moment but hopefully will some time in the future. Until then they recommend using another card.
As far as I can tell Apple accept the card on other services so this does not make much sense at all.
