Amost every page I open, Firefox asks whether to enable Flash player. How to get rid of this nagging pest ?

Amost every page I open, Firefox takes a line off my netbook screen to ask whether to enable Flash player.
How to get rid of this nagging pest ?

downloaded 17MB flash installer from Adobe website.
This download did not run properly, reporting that it had some error.
Still plagued with FireFox queries about Flash.
Don't much care about having flash plugin in FireFox.
Prefer to download a flash file, scan with virus checker, then play it with VideoLAN.
So I disabled Flash plugin to "Never Ask" but still the noxious popup
"FireFox has prevented the outdated plugin "Adobe Flash" from running on helpx.adobe.com. Continue Blocking ? Allow ... X"

Many complaints in ASK QUESTIONS about getting rid of iMesh in a browser, but no answer is provided. Please instruct your users how to get rid of this program. I got the install information from iMesh directly but my browser will not clear it, even if I change my home page. It's an impossible program to get rid of. This can't be legal. Thanks,

• "Portal Content Area Builder" how to get rid of this page heading?

"Portal Content Area Builder" how to get rid of this page heading?
Hi All
I have created a Single page Website..??? by using folders.
when a user click on any link that call a folder but not a page and that folder is displayed with the layout specified in "Content Area Page" however there is no such option available to change the Heading
Page title
for browsers so for every folder called it displays a Oracle defined Content area page title.
"Portal Content Area Builder"
Is there anywork around for this.
Thanks.
Rakesh.

This problem is fixed in Release 2. There is no supported workaround in 3.0.

• How to get rid of this babyloan stuff, firefox please block it, its really irritating.

i dont know how i got babyloan in my computer and now its everywhere and i am not able to remove it. please suggest me how to get rid of this stuff

Let's get rid of the Babylon Infection :)
First, update to Firefox 15.0.1. [[Update Firefox to the latest version]]. Older versions are vulnerable to known security issues that can compromise your data.
After that, Click on Start, then Control Panel. Then go to Uninstall a Program. Find anything related to Babylon, b-manager, browser protection, etc. Uninstall it.
Finally, Reset Firefox. [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]. This should fully remove Babylon.

• I think I have malware on my Firefox browser, and I don't know how to get rid of it to use it securely.

I had a series of eight bookmarks which loaded every time I use Firefox. (Three versions of www.facebook.com.). It appears that something is overriding these. They appear instead to be going through https://fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net. So even though when I look at the browser a minute later, and it seems to say https://www.facebook.com, and everything seems to be ok, once at the end of signoff, I caught it saying something like "redirect at logoff" to the fbstatic address. I tried deleting the bookmarks, and making the fbstatic address "untrusted" (I also have NoScript 2.6.3 installed, in an effort to get a handle on this problem.) But it will not let me choose just www.facebook.com.
I don't know what to do. I fear my information is compromised. And I mostly use Twitter and Facebook in this browser. I do much prefer Firefox, cause I thought it was safer. I also couldn't use the browser to send a help message because there was a redirect on that too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The akamai servers are used by a lot of web servers to store large files (e.g. images and media files)
A domain with fbstatic in it is likely a domain that is used by Facebook (fb), so you may have other problems if you stay on such a web page or get redirected
If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• How do I get rid of this nagging message??? --- "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier." hit enter

Almost every time I hit the back button I get this message and I have to tell it ok

Sorry, that message can't be disabled. Try selecting the previous page from the Unified button drop-down history menu, that will avoid that message and the resending of data. Or open links in a new Tab and close that Tab when you are done with the linked page on web sites that you know will give you that message.

• I finally got rid of babylon by resetting Firefox;then choosing a theme, fonts, etc. the page went 'ghost but there's no add-on. How to get rid of it?

I had babylon everywhere -- ran a registry search and came up with a huge list; F3 got rid of all but 7, but those last 7 would not 'go'. I ran my Spybot but that wasn't successful in killing it. So I reset my Firefox and that apparently did the trick, because google search came up, not babylon, etc.
So I was choosing fonts, and restoring the look of my page with a theme and at one point when I down loaded one and went onto facebook there was no page background color, no lines, no icons for 'like' or 'comment' or notifications up on the toolbar in the LH side, etc. I can't play words with friends because all that is visible are the letters -- the board is invisible.
Is this 'ghostery' that I have read about which is an add-on? But the re-setting erased all my add-ons and I've checked, and I do not show having any.
In both my yahoo and gmail accounts I have to hover over areas where I think 'delete' is and wait for it to pop up to click on it. Same for the pull downs for reply, forward, etc.
I went to my Shutterfly account and it was just plain eerie -- pulled up a card I had just finished and you could see the front and back, but the top and bottom of the inside would not show. And what DID show was tiny, an inch or so wide and way over on the RH side (usually about 4x6 inches in the center).
Please help me, I use this for work and it is making it impossible to do some tasks.

If it happens again the make sure that you aren't suppressing website colors.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

• Flash player update related pop-up appearing in all the browsers...unable to open even gmail/youtube, how to get rid of this ??? Please help...

This pop-up is almost coming upwhile opening every 2nd website, I don't know how it has happened but it is very annoying.
Please suggest how to fix this..
Thanks.

The update alerts are fake, and are intended to dupe you into installing malware or disclosing private information so that your identity can be stolen.
You might get the alerts when visiting a website that has been hacked. Don't visit the site again. If applicable, notify the site administrator of the problem, but don't send email to an unknown party.
If you get the alerts when visiting well-known websites such as Google, YouTube, or Facebook, then they're almost certainly the result of an attack on your router that has caused you to get false results from looking up the addresses of Internet servers. Requests sent to those sites are redirected to a server controlled by the attacker. It's possible, but less likely, that the DNS server used by your ISP has been attacked, but you should assume that the router is at fault until proven otherwise.
The router's documentation should tell you how to reset it to the factory default state. Usually there's a pinhole switch somewhere in the back. It may be labeled "RESET." Insert the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool and press the button inside for perhaps 15 seconds, or as long as the instructions specify.
After resetting the router, quit the web browser and relaunch it while holding down the shift key. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Do the equivalent if you use another browser. Open the Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
Then go through the router's initial setup procedure. I can't be specific, because it's different for every model. The key points are these:
1. Don't allow the router to be administered from the WAN (Internet) port, if it has that option. Most do.
2. Set a strong password to protect the router's settings: at least ten random upper- and lower-case letters and digits. Don't use the default password or any other that could be guessed. Any password that you can remember is weak.
3. If the router is wireless, or if you have a wireless access point on the network, use "WPA 2 Personal" security and set a different strong password to protect the network. If the router or access point doesn't support WPA 2, it's obsolete and must be replaced.
During the time the router was compromised, you were redirected to bogus websites. If you ever connected to a secure site and got a warning from your browser that the identity of the server could not be verified, and you dismissed that warning in order to log in, assume that your credentials for the site have been stolen and that the attacker has control of the account. This warning also applies to all websites on which you saw the fake update alerts.
If you downloaded and installed what you thought was a software update, ask for instructions.

• How to get rid of this red border around firefox.

Hi, i just getting this annoying red border and also my history doesn't seen to save. I'll tried everything, cancel sandbox but nothing work
:here is a picture.
[https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/549411_10150669783553335_660638334_9412257_523793685_n.jpg link text]

When you say "cancel sandbox" where do you do that -- in a Firefox add-on or in some other software?
If you normally start up Firefox using a shortcut, can you check its properties and see whether the other program "sandboxing" it is identified there? You might also be able to edit the path to its default, which of my Win7x64 is:
Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox"
Shortcut key: None
Run in: Normal window

• Since I uploaded Firefox 4.0 on my iMac, I get a lot more pop-ups. Pop-up blocker is enabled and the pop-ups are coming from Firefox (that is, there is a star in the location bar). Any ideas how to get rid of this nuisance? Thanks!

I am running OS 10.6.7 on an iMac.

Yes, I'm using the default theme.
I've only installed some add-ons. Everything else is as it is upon initial installation of FF4.0.
Apart from the "Status-4-Evar" add-on, I'm using the same set of add-ons as I had in Firefox 3.6, again just the default theme, and had no issues with stretched icons.
I've tried turning "hardware acceleration" on and off, but it makes no difference, the stretching will occur either way.

• How to Get Rid of White Stripe At Top of Firefox Browser

I have the current version of Firefox installed. Recently, perhaps with the most recent install, I'm not exactly sure, a white stripe appeared at the top of the browser, right under the search and URL boxes at the top of where websites would normally show, a white stripe about a 1/2 inch thick has appeared. Not on every single site, google.com works fine, but for example, it blocks out the home, connect, discover and me tabs on Twitter. Or if you go to mozilla.com, the tabs at the top of the mozilla site briefly show, then are blocked by the white bar. You can't click on any of them, even if you have your mouse pointed at the right spot. You can refresh the screen and they'll briefly show again, but not long enough for you to click on anything.
I've run a number of search engine queries trying to find out how to get rid of this problem, but I'm only finding resolutions for webmasters, not for end users who have to deal with this problem on the other end of the browser.
Anyone know how to get rid of this nuisance? I'm about ready to uninstall Firefox because its useless on many sites with buttons and tabs on top.

I shut down all but one of the extensions, and that seems to have resolved the problem. Thank you!
Now to figure out which extensions I need, and which I don't, because I don't have a clue. I don't remember installing most of these, I only recall one or two (nothing looks spammy like funmoods, but still don't remember when or why these were added...)

• When I try to download a app from my App Store which is free it asks for my bank details why?and how do I get rid of this problem?

I have a problem with my App Store whenever I try to download a free app from it a red writing pops up at the top saying "there was a billing problem with my previous purchase" therefore it won't allôw me to download and install any free app please give me some advice on how to get rid of this thanks.

Thanks Ralph, i tried that but it still didnt change the ID on the apps store. Strange thing is I tried my origional password and it worked, it seems the Apple ID ie my email address is not transfering to the app store , as when I try to download something and it requests my password when the Apple ID box opens, the ID is still missing a letter? Im at a loss as to how this happened or how to change it, but as it s working with my old password should I be worried about it? its different to anything else On apple ID , other than the one missing letter its the same email address but a different password for each one. It seems that what ever is in my Apple ID, it wont transfer to the app store Apple ID?
