Amp Designer latency in Mainstage only

Hi,
I have the following problem:
When i try to use the Amp Designer in Mainstage (for example to enhance my EVP88 sound), it induces a horrible latency into my channelstrip. maybe 200ms or more - the display of the channelstrip won't show it BTW, but mockingly says "0.0 ms" (ha ha ha).
However, if i use the *exact same* channelstrip setting in Logic, there is no notable latency induced by amp designer.
I use the same buffer settings and a "dry" channelstrip without any additional plugins.
BTW: If i use the old Guitar amp pro plugin, there's no latency, too.
Any solutions?

Additional information:
for anyone who experiences similar problems, here's a workaround:
Save concert - reload concert -> Latency gone.
The problem will only occur if you add amp designer the first time.
Filed a bug report for apple support, and they emailed me. If i get an answer, i'll post it here.

Extreme Latency with Amp Designer+Pedalboard?

One of the main reasons that I was excited about Logic 9 is the Amp Designer/Pedalboard plugs. I understand that all plugins cause latency, but even setting the input buffer to 64 and running "low latency" mode in LP9 or Mainstage 2 I have horrible latency. The models sound amazing, but the latency completely destroys their usefulness. I use a Presonus Inspire firewire interface, but have also used the built-in MacBookPro Input. Any suggestions.

Welcome to the wonderful world of latency. Firewire can only get you so far in terms of low latency, as you can see from your issue.
The only real way to get rid of the latency is :
Have a TOWER mac pro.
Install audio hardware that is fast enough to have only about 1mS of latency.
Motu PCIe systems are great for this.

Amp designer and pedal board not working in Logic Pro 8

Hello! I am new to LOGIC PRO 8 and maybe my silly question has a easy answer. When I want to record a guitar or a bass in the audio channel created for it, and want to insert for example a complete rig, the sound won't load and a message will apper saying "pedalboard not available" "amp designer not available" or pedal not available". If I open Mainstage 2 or Garage Band and I play, pedals are working and all amp modulation as well. If I go and look into the application support and plug-in settings folders it seems to me that everything is there. What am I missing or doing wrong? how can I solve the problem and make these enable for recording? THANK YOU FOR HELPING!

Nor amp designer neither pedalboard windows can be opened but they seem to work correctly. I can load them in the inserts and change presets in library when I select them in the inspector, but I can't open the windows plugins to change settings. Could somebody help me? Thanks a lot.

Only available workaround, never work on the networked document.
Work on a local copy which will be replaced by the one of your friend if he save it's own after you

Unable to resize the amp designer or pedal board window since upgrading to lion - any ideas?

I have no idea why but the pedal board and amp designer plugin windows no longer fit on my screen since upgrading to lion.
It's driving me crazy has anyone any ideas how I can fix this?

Sorry to not get back to you sooner. With other devices not having issues connecting to the Home Hub except the AirPort Express definately indicates the Express being the culprit. The only thing I can suggest trying before paying a visit to your local Apple Store, would be to perform a "factory default" reset on it to see if it can connect and stay connected.

Amp designer midi input

i am having a pain with getting guitar rig to work right, but I don't often have a guitarist at my disposal, so I want to still be able to test out different guitar sounds, etc. can you use amp designer on an insturment track?? I want to play my midi controller thorugh, it, maybe i'll have to route audio from the instrument track to a bus, then have that bus be the input on the audio track that contains the amp designer insert?? Then, if that is what I have to do, what kind of instrument should I put on the original instruemtn track? what would be best for sending a good signal that amp designer will be able to work with.

Well, you would want a sound that's plucked like a guitar... the amps ARE much better in 9 but for me they only approximate a good amp or even a good POD type amplification system.
All guitars basically have a clean output unless they contain internal distortion/delay type circuitry, another sound that might work is a clavinet. None of them will imitate what a guitar is going to sound like though.
The sound really depends on your taste, if you're an old guy like me you grew up with tube amps and the sound of small tube amps all crunchy and jangly can't be found in low voltage circuits.

Is it possible to turn off CSS and design text with HTML only?

I'm trying to design text with HTML only ie: Font, Color, Size. The only method I'm aware of is to highlight the text and then go to Insert> Html> Text Objects. That method is tedious and time consuming.
I'm not looking for arguments or reasons as to why I should use CSS, I'm simply looking for a solution to disable CSS and design with HTML. I'm using Dreamweaver CS5.

Thank you for your response. I checked the preferences as you advised and could not find any option to turn off CSS. I don't understand why there doesn't seem to be a straightforward solution to this, it seems so simple. The reason is that the code will be inputed into an eBay listing and therefore CSS code is not supported.
Any other input for a seemingly simple yet complex solution to this is welcome and appreciated.

Just a hunch, but have you an electrick guitar track selected? The amp designer will not work for other audio tracks, it has to be an electric guitar track:

When you take it off 'Low Latency' mode the audio is fine and comes out Right and Left speaker.

I think Pancenter is trying to get you to read and understand the "Working in Low Latency" section of the manual as the results or problems with working in Low Latency mode are variable.
This section, for instance:
Note: The sound may change in Low Latency mode. Depending on the plug-ins in use, the changes can be anything from subtle to dramatic. If plug-ins being used do not exceed the total latency limit, there will be no audible difference.
If it was me posting about this issue I would now come back with what exactly is inserted/bussed on the tracks because it could be an accumulative problem based on what plug-ins you have active and if they are on audio tracks (stereo or mono), instrument tracks etc. Lots of variables. The section of the manual quoted above won't give specific instances as any user could be using any combination of any amount of plug-ins.
So more information is needed before anyone can help you any further.

Guitar Question - How do the amp in Logic 9/ Mainstage 2 compare?

I am a new Logic 9 user and I am currently exploring the amps / effects in Logic 9 / Mainstage 2. I am wondering if the community has any comments or feedback on how the amps and effects sound both recorded and live compared to other vendors such as Fractal Audio (Axe FX) or Line 6 or NI Guitar Rig? Just wondering if anyone can tell me how much "feel" and "responsiveness" I can expect from the amps in Logic 9 versus some of the other players in the market.
I am really looking for the best tube amp modeler in terms of feel and controlability from the guitar's volume and tone knobs. I feel like the Line 6 stuff sounds pretty good, but ofers limited control and feel from the guitar. I hear the Fractal Axe FX is supposed to be very good this way. Anyone ever compare these kinds of tools to Logic 9?

To get an idea of how effective the amps & FX are, try the Guitar Rigs template in MainStage. Some of these are very good.
However, by using Channel EQ into a bus containing Stereo Delay & Space Designer I get a very good clean sound somewhere between a Fender tube amp & a small Mesa-Boogie.
Add one or more of the Pedal Board Overdrive units (plus a wah if you like the sound) & you can create some very good overdrive/distortion FX.
I like Logic's FX & can get some very impressive results with them. I have spent quite a lot of time getting to know them.
Explore the presets & some of the demo songs then sit down & start to use the FX.

28 page Designer 7 .pdf form only shows one page in Acrobat 8

Help!
We have .pdf's that were generated with Designer 7.1, containing filled-in form data, but they cannot be viewed under Acrobat 8.1.
For example, a 28 page .pdf displays OK under Acrobat 6 (with warnings) and Acrobat 7 (error-free) ... but only displays one, blank page (with no errors and no warnings) under Acrobat 8.
Does anybody have any idea why Acrobat 8.1 is only displaying one page instead of the full 28 pages seen with Acrobat 6 or Acrobat 7?

2. Thank you for the suggestion about Lifecycle Designer.
I tried to download LifeCycle Designer, but the link pointed to exactly the same "ar 8.1.2" download I'm currently having the problem with. Do I need "Lifecycle Enterprise"?
3. I've tried multiple different versions of Acrobat Reader 8.1.x, and even Acrobat 8/Pro. They all show only one page: no errors, but no data, either.
Acrobat 6 and 7, however, show a full 28 pages. Even Linux shows all 28 pages (and reports no errors or warnings in the .pdf). Do you have any idea what could account for this?

Design Template to change ONLY text boxes

I am afraid of the Design Template option because all I need to do is globally change ALL the text in my project to be ARIAL 11.... while it seems that Design Template would do this, there are all these other captions, buttons, etc. on there and I want those left alone.
There seems to be no way to delete pages or features from this strange thing called Design Templates... does anybody know... if I apply this Design Template will all of my other buttons, boxes, headings, etc. change also?
What a horrible idea if it is so. Completely worthless for the person who has been give ONE design change only.

Because it DOESN'T WORK worth a crap, that's why.
"Apply to All" is the most overrated feature in this product, in my estimation. (Well, aside from Aggregator). It has hit or miss results, and when it by chance DOES work, it changes a bunch of other stuff too, such as header graphics deleted.
Wish it did work though, I am having to change each and every text box by hand.

Is iWeb designed webpage/site uploadable only to .mac?

If I create an iWeb designed webpage/site will it be uploadable to any other web host or is it designed to work exclusively with .mac? I already have registration with and plan to use Godaddy.com. If iWeb is incompatible, then what is a good, basic, software program for designing a basic business webpage or site consisting of no more than 3-4 pages? Thanks.

Don't get the idea that iWeb works only for small sites. I have two sites, each encompassing over 100 pages of text plus graphics. it works fine for them, so long as no webpage is too long -- in which case, only part of the page shows when it is published to .Mac. I solved that problem by ending each page before the point where it quits publishing, and then add a "NEXT >>>" link, which carries the reader to the next webpage where the information continues.

How to design extractor can have only current Fiscal Year data.

Dear Experts,
I require a full upload DSO , which can have only current fiscal year data . I have created view putting there certain conditions for minimising the data size. How i can restrict it , to have only current fisacal year data for YTD reports. It would be daily uploaded.
Should i created Data Source based on function ?

while extracting the data from source you can set the filters at the info package level so that it will not extract the previous years data.
In the data selection tab in Info package enter the current fiscal year and schedule the IP it will extract only the current year data.
next execute the DTP to load data till DSO.
the data is restricted in the infopackage level before entering to PSA so there is no need to write any routines in the DSO level.
