Ampkit as a bypass into mac book GB

I was thinking of getting some sort of guitar input to use for the ipad and iphone GB app. Can I also use this as an input to go into GB in my Mac Book Pro?
Thanks.

When you plug your iPhone to Mac,click the Summary button and select “Manually manage music and videos".Then iTunes would never delete your original music.
The most easy way to solve your problems is to move your music to your new Mac.Please refer to this article from Apple.com

Not much you can do.  You overwrote your current data with older data when you restored the phone from that backup.  Your data's gone.

Which model of MacBook Pro is it? (Approximate year of purchase is close enough)
Which version of OS X operating system is installed?
What happens when you power-on the MacBook Pro?
Do you hear the 'chime' at start up?
    Is the battery charged?
Is the power indicator on the battery charger illuminated? If yes, what color?

  • Installing RAM into Mac Book Pro

I recently went to my Campus' IT store to pick up something for a friend, and decided I would ask how much RAM cost, since I would like to upgrade to leopard in the near future.
I currently have 1G of RAM (2 x 512Mb), on a first Gen. Mac Book Pro, and so I would like to upgrade to the max it can have (2G RAM).
The cost of the RAM was surprisingly cheap, it would cost me $42 roughly to get 2 x 1G sticks, and I'm assuming they are the right ones, because the guy asked what type of computer I had, and how many GHz my processor was among a few other things.
My question is, they offer installing the RAM there for an additional $25, is it worth it to have them do it, or is it more cost efficient for me to do it myself, and if so, is it hard to install the RAM, and how would I go about doing so?
    Thanks.

It's pretty easy to do yourself, though of course you have to take basic precautions against static electricity and have an appropriately-sized screwdriver so you don't strip the screws (they're pretty small and rather easy to strip if your screwdriver isn't sized correctly). • Once you install RAM into Mac book, do I just turn it back on?  Do I need to perform some type of action?

I received some great replies concerning my increasing the RAM on my laptop. From the information gathered I was able to gather more information and am curious as to what and if there are more steps besides the ones I've listed below:
    1.  Power off
    2.  Take battery cover off.
    3.  Remove battery cover.
    4.  Remove battery.
    5.  Remove 3 screws.
    6.  Remove L bracket.
    7.  Remove RAM(2 sticks of 512MB).
    8.  Install new RAM(2 sticks of 1GB).
    9.  Insure the new RAM is snug into the slot.
    10.Reverse the process.
Now at this point do I just power it back up or do I need to perform some other type of action.
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:          MacBook
      Model Identifier:          MacBook2,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:          2.16 GHz
      Number Of Processors:          1
      Total Number Of Cores:          2
      L2 Cache:          4 MB
      Memory:          1 GB
      Bus Speed:          667 MHz
      Boot ROM Version:          MB21.00A5.B07
      SMC Version (system):          1.17f0
    Any input would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tq1

Just turn it back on. The MacBook will automaticly recognize the new RAM.
If the MacBook doesn't turn on the RAM may not be the right speed for a Mac. Macs are very finicky about RAM. Much more so than PCs. The way to test that would be to put one of the old RAM sticks back in one slot and start up.

  • Ipad not being not being "seen" by itunes when plugged into mac book pro. Troubleshooting guide didn't help.

Hello, I just recently got my macbook pro (2009, 15 inch) repaired. While it was being repaired I bought an ipad and was synching it to a seperate computer. However, now when I plug in the ipad to the macbook, itunes does not see the ipad and the ipad does not recognize itself as being plugged in. I updated all my software/firmware/itunes software and restarted botht the computer and ipad. The computer I was synching it to previously died on me unceremoniously and this ipad has all my music on it. Any suggestions on what to do next?
    -Dan

    kmiddlet88,
yes, it could be due to nearly anything listed in your kernel extensions, startup items, launch daemons, launch agents, or user items above. Please check all of your installed third-party software to make sure that the versions which are installed on your MacBook Pro are compatible with Mavericks; uninstall every software package which isn’t Mavericks-compatible. After you’ve done that, boot into Safe mode, and see if you still get the beach ball of doom there. If it doesn’t appear there, restart normally and see if it appears then.

  • What causes a USB key inserted in to MacPro 2008 and then into Mac Book Pro 4.1 to have all data destroyed as well 2 different keys.Issue was both computers didnt recognize the key any more and the the data were reformated and not accessible key ro 4.1

The end result was that the original content was not readable as reformatted
Peculiar is that the english text was turned into chinese
By using google translation it turned out that the chinese text was a totally different subject matter from the original content
Both computers have the latest intego virus system a,which were run and didnt show any attack
Has some one gotten acccds to our system and installed something on our hard disks without being detected
This is a very strange happening
    Thanks for any clues

Sometimes Chinese can be the result of text being misread as UTF-16 encoding when it is something else.  In that case the translation should be gibberish, however.

  • External Hard Drives and iTunes, on Mac Book Pro and PC?

If you transfer your iTunes library from PC to an external hard drive, can you use itunes, from the external hard drive when you plug it into Mac Book Pro?
    I'm very confused about this!
All my music is on PC and I want to save it to my external hard drive. But I will no longer be using that PC afterwards.
I would like to use itunes on my Mac but it only has 128 Gb, not enough storage for my iTunes library.
So, can you use your transfered itunes library from the PC to external drive on your Mac?
Another question I have is, when your itunes is on your external hardrive can you still sync, make playlists and add new songs?
I don't know very much about external hard drives, but I need the space.

No.  Likely the drive is presently formatted NTFS which is no good on a Mac unless you want to buy spcial software to enable it (given your scenario it is not worth it).  The best format for Mac use is MacExtended, but your PC cannot write files to that.  The intermediate solution is to reformat the drive to DOS FAT, but as I already said this isn't ideal.
If it were me I would:
    1) With the PC copy the entire iTunes folder to the current external, presumably formatted as NTFS.
    2) Buy the new second drive I know I will need for backing up both my computer and my old external drive.  Format it as Mac extended.  In the long run you want to configure this for use with Time Machine but I can't help you with that because I can't run TM.  For the time being you are using it to temporarily store files.
    3) Using the Mac make sure the new drive is formatted to Mac extended.
    4) On the Mac copy the entire iTunes folder from the old drive to the new.
    5) With the Mac reformat the old drive to Mac extended.
    6) With the Mac copy the entire iTunes folder from the new drive to the old one which is now in the Mac friendly format.  Start iTunes with the option key held down as described earlier.
Others may be able to help with some details on formatting drives because I use an older system.  I know with my system version when you reformat or partition you lose all files on a drive which is why you have to have somewhere to temporarily store your library. I think they did some changes but I am not sure of the details.

  • I to use iphoto library manager to save corrupted iphoto and each time it saves some and the first time it brings up iphoto, iphone goes into "not responding" mode.  Using mac book pro, iphoto 9.5.1, and maverick 10.9.2.

I've had issues with my iPhoto "not responding" and as a result I am attempting to save my photos to an external hard drive using iPhoto library Manager but each time I start the program it saves some, and then when it starts iPhoto, iPhoto then goes into not responding mode. Using mac book pro, iphoto 9.5.1, and maverick 10.9.2. I have completed all of the photo library first aid steps several times, but it makes no difference, iphoto eventually goes to "not responding."  Initial issues started with Time Machine back ups stopping because of iphoto. Thanks......

Do you have a back up?
If you're just trying to recover the photos you can do that much more simply:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Originals' or 'Masters'. (varies according to the version of iPhoto)
Your photos are inside - these are the originals as imported from your camera.

  • I have been trying to import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  Did not have trouble until I upgraded to mavericks.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, iMovie 10.0.2.  Says it is recording, but when I go to check, it says the file is empty.

I have been trying import VHS video into iMovie via a Hollywood Dazzle bridge.  I have been successful doing this in the past, but now it is not working.  I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, (mavericks), iMovie 10.0.2.  Everything in iMovie looks like it is working.  It reads "recording" in the upper left hand corner of the pane while the video is playing.  When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty.  The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously.  My system is about one year old.  Any suggestions?

    Hey, Clinton,
Thanks for your help!  I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video.  I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support.  They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded.  That didn't change anything.  In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge.  But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
         1.  Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
         2.  Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
         3.  Close iMovie 9
         4.  Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
         5.  File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events.  Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
         6.  Select the clips and import.  Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported.  Click continue import.  It's a little glitchy.  It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too.  On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy.  In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.
Hope this additional information helps somebody else.  Thanks again, Clinton for helping me!

  • TS3694 Just took my 1st gen iPod out of it's original box, never used before.  Plugged it into my new Mac book Pro and it recognizes that the iPod is in recovery mode but when I click to restore, error 1611 comes up - but that error code doesn't say what

I had an 8GB 1st gen iPod in it's original box in storage and just took it out to hook it up.  Charged it overnight, plugged it into new Mac Book Pro and it was recognized as being an iPod in recovery but other identifying information was all indicated as "n/a" (so, unknown OS, etc).  Error code 1604 came up so I downloaded iTunes on the Mac Book and it is currently showing version 10.  But now when I try to restore the iPod, error code 1611 comes up and the troubleshooting doesn't tell me what else to try.  The USB connector that came with the iPod was also never used before - brand new also from the box so that should be fine.  I also tried a different USB port on the Mac Book.  Any ideas?

I do not want to put these files on my Mac. How do I do this? Where do I put these files on my Time Capsule? Will it affect the functioning of my Time Capsule?

Mixing files with data is not always great idea.
    See info here.
    Q3 http://pondini.org/TM/Time_Capsule.html
Why not just connect the PC directly to the TC by ethernet and copy the files over?
It is hugely faster and much less mucking around.
In windows load the airport utility for windows.. if you have not already as this will help you access the drive.
