Amplitube 3 not in Audio Units Manager???

Hello,
Amplitube 3 runs fine as a stand alone and is present within Launchpad. . .but it doesn't show up in Audio Units Manager under Preferences. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Problem solved.
In case anyone is interested. . .here's the solution:
Go to HD > library > application support > IK > delete the amplitube 3 folder.
Go to HD > library > audio > plug ins > components and delete the amplitube3 file here
now reboot and do this. Open the HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and Repair the disk
permissions on your HD. Now reinstall the 3.8 update for AT 3 and retry it.
If anybody knows what happened initially with Logic I'd love to know!

  • My Audio Units Manager DOES NOT exist!... please help.

I recently installed Logic Studio 8. When I first ran it the Audio Units Manager scanned for all of my AU plugins and it did a 'you must hold down the power button and power off' crash when it got about halfway through my 228 AU plugins that have worked fine in Logic 7 for a long time.
When i re-booted the mac and Logic 8 i had no AU plugins and when i go to Preferences menu / Audio Units Manager... nothing happens. I SIMPLY HAVE NO AUDIO UNITS MANAGER.
I cant access it from Waveburner 1.5 either but all of my AU plugins still work fine in Logic Pro 7.2.3
I have tried re-installing Logic Pro 8 and deleted it's preferences and associated receipts and repaired permissions to no avail.... I just cant load my Audio Units Manager
When i click on it in the preferences menu it's as if nothing happens.
Somebody please help... the only solution i see left is a complete re-install?
    Mac Pro 8 Core 3ghz

Try creating a new user account and seeing if it works in that account.
Try renaming your ~\Library\Caches folder to Caches-old, rebooting, and see if it works them.
Make sure you run some disk utils - it's rare for an application or plugin to cause a kernal panic because they don't generally have that level of access to the system, so it might be a sign of something else funky on your system (drivers, or system things).

  • Waves AU Plugins arent showing up in audio units manager

    Hi,
I just downloaded some new plugins from waves that are showing up as activated in my Waves License Manager (WLC) but are not showing up in my Logic Pro X audio unites manager.  I have tried clicking the rescan and still they dont show up, i tried restarting the applications involved and restart my computer as well but no luck.   I have previously purchased and downloaded other waves plugins that are working fine and showing up in Logic, nothing looks different between the ones that are working and those that arent when viewing them in waves license manager. i contacted waves to see if they could help but they said it was a problem with Logic and everything was working properly on their end.
    any recommendations or advice??
    Thanks,
    Reid

I suspect you didn't follow the installation Instructions from Waves....
Did you run the Wave AU Reg Utility first?
    If not....
    Quit Logic Pro X then....
Run the app which is found in Applications/Waves/Waveshells/ Waves AU Reg Utility 9.3 or later depending on which version of Waves you are using....
Failing that, contact Waves directly for assistance....

  • Audio Unit Manager: How to remove references to deleted files?

I upgraded my NI software. Replaced Guitar Rig 4 with Guitar Rig 5.
Removed the Guitar Rig 4 components from both system and user Audio/Plugins/Components
    directories.
The now-removed plug-ins are still showing in Logic's Audio Unit Manager. Of course they fail validation,
and aren't used. But, leaves a messy listing, and causes other programs (Live, Kore) to also list them try to valid,
    and fail.
Any ideas on how to remove these references??

I would love to know this too. I have the worst plug in in the world ( Universal UVI Player) haging around my system although I removed it from all "visible' places.

  • Logic Pro 7 (7.2.3) Audio Units Manager crashes

Logic Pro 7 (7.2.3) "Audio Units Manager" causes Logic to crash whenever it is selected from the Preferences menu. Most plugins have been wrapped by
FXpansion's VST-AU program successfully, Logic (after much work) finally goes through the validation process on start-up, but I'm unable to see what's happening in the AU Manager. Running Logic on a Mac G4 Dual 1 GHz machine with 1.5 GB of RAM. Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem?

the prob is most likely a bad plug in. some of them don't pass validation, others crash the validation program itself. go to the websites of your plug ins and check you have versions that work with your system version and logic version. make sure you check that the fxpansion wrapper is also current. also, if you happen to have the old logic tuner AU plug in from logic 6, get rid of it. it doesn't validate and the tuner is a built in logic plug in now.

  • Logic Pro 9 WILL NOT recognise EZdrummer in Audio Units Manager, HELP??

I recently purchased and installed Toontrack's EZdrummer plug-in to work inside Logic Pro.
However, after a week of trying, I for some bizarre reason cannot get Logic to recognize the plug-in/vst.
All week i've conquered the internet looking for solutions but sadly nothing has helped, i've tried everything from trashing cache files to rescanning audio units to manually moving files...STILL NOTHING!
This problem has annoyed many people as I scroll effortlessly down Google looking at other peoples quetions and responses, yet nothing works for me. PLEASE SOMEBODY KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS!

    Basic Troubleshooting steps...
First of all Logic Pro cannot use VSTs.. It uses AudioUnit (AU) Plugins..
Have you checked the AU Manager (Found under the Logic Pro menu item...)  to see if it installed and validated correctly
If it is not there, it did not install correctly in which case reinstall or failing that contact ToonTracks for assistance.
If it is there but not validated, select it and manually recscan it to validate it. If it fails to validated again contact ToonTracks..
if it is there and validated,
When you start a new project in Logic and create a Software Instrument track.. and then you press and hold the Software Instrument button in the track strip.. do you see the ToonTracks entry? (along with all the Logic Pro's plugins and other 3rd party AU Plugins you may have installed)
The Software Instrument button  is located as shown in this screenshot..

  • Logic pro audio units manager

I have Logic 9 . I have Waves native plug ins which I use in Logic. I updated waves and now when I load Logic the audio units examiner freezes up and all plugs ins are disabled. The window showing audio units being examined opens showing the number of audio units to be examined and then nothing happens at all. I spoke with folks at Waves and everything seems ok on their end. Please advise.

  • GB will not initialize audio units without Steinberg dongle

I want to use my macbook to produce podcasts. I occasionally also use the macbook to run cubase and a suite of Steinberg stuff (vst instruments etc.) which are installed on the macbook. However, I usually use my Mac Pro for the Steinberg software.
The problem is that GB will not initialize unless I have the Steinberg license dongle (elicenser) plugged into the macbook. I don't really want to move the dongle around all the time, as occasionally both GB and the Steinberg stuff will be in use at the same time in my studio.
Is there a way to get GB to ignore the installed Steinberg plugins?

i believe you'd have to remove the AUs (GB doesn't use VST) from the Components folder before launch

  • Audio unit manager

Has anyone had luck using AudioUnit Manager to establish different custom sets of AU's? It was advised to control to the increasing numbers I have, but it doesn't work well for me. Typically when trying to delete AU's from a new set I get an error message about having trouble renaming the AU.
Any suggestions or alternative solutions? I looked at AudioFinder, but while that may be great for certain applications it didn't seem to handle this well.
    Thanks,
    JC

  • Why are audio units not showing up?

I'm just about out of my mind with this one- I've downloaded a number of plugins, namely DCAM synth squad, Flux Stereo Tool and Magnus Ambience Reverb, but no matter what I do I can't get them to show up. They claim they're 64 bit so that shouldn't be a problem, and I can't get them to show up in either Logic X or Ableton Live 9. I've re-scanned all plug-ins in both DAWs, I've deleted my plugin cache and had them rescan that way, but nothing works. I can see the .component files in my library, but nothing I do will get either Logic or Live to recognize them. I can open synth squad in standalone mode so the plugins themselves are working, they just won't show up as inserts.
The Ambience reverb is even recognized by the audio units manager and it says its validated and an effect, but it doesn't show up when I look at the available plug-ins on my channel strips.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Flux Stereo Tool is only available as a 32bit AU version so that won't work in LPX (or Live9 in 64bit mode)
Note: 64bit floating point is not the same as 64bit AU Plugin..........
Magnus Ambience Reverb is available as a 64bit AU Plugin but only if you download that specific version.... (However, several people have reported it doesn't work for them in 64bit mode in any DAW anyhow, even with the correct version)
Mac OS X Magnus Ambience Reverb Universal 32-bit and 64-bit AU
..and according to the FXpansions website DCAM free version is only available as a 32bit AU plugin so that wont work with Logic Pro X (or Live 9 in 64bit mode)
    In summary:
In order for a plugin to work in Logic Pro X it must be a 64bit AU (AudioUnit) plugin.... not a 64bit VST.. or a 32bit AU Plugin...

  • 3rd party plug-ins are not displayed in channel strip audio unit insert

I have successfully loaded several 3rd party plug-ins (Wave Masters and IK multimedia Studio Bundle) into my MacBook Pro. The files are shown in Library>Audio>Plug-ins>Components, in User>Downloads, and they appear in my Audio Unit Manager (for each the box is checked for access from Logic Pro). Yet, when I go to a channel strip to launch some of the plug-ins, the product does not show up under audio units. How do I get these plug-in files to the insert list for my audio channels? Unfortunately, I need to launch these plug-ins in order to authorize them with the vendor. I must be missing a key step, but I have not had this issue before with other 3rd party plug-ins. Thanks for any direction.

Also, I know in the case of my IK Multimedia Classic Studio Reverb, it will NOT be available from within my 3rd party plug-in list, on a MONO channel.
I need to be opening the list on a stereo track (or stereo Aux), in order to be able to select those plug-ins.
See if it's something that simple...

  • Logic Pro 9 - Not able to select plugins via Inserts / Audio Units.

    Hi
    I have the program Logic Pro 9 version 9.1.6 (1700.43) (32- bit)
I use plugins like for example SampleTank and Realstrat . Everything has until recently worked fine, but I now have a problem.
When I choose a plugin I usually put the mouse on the box 'Inserts', press ALT and then a menu appears. Here I, among many menu items, at the bottom see ' Audio Units ' . At this point I usually could choose, for example SampleTank , .. but now I can only choose Apple features. That is to say - I can not choose my plugins in this menu anymore.
I've been around online and search . Here I was recommended to delete a file called com.apple.audiounits.cache . I have done this, but the problem is not solved.
I also have updated the operating system with latest MacOSX10.7.5 update . This has not helped .
All my plugins are also visible in Logic Audio Units Manager, and I can see that they are being loaded when Logic starts up.
The plugins also still works in projects created within the problem occurred. That is, - I can open for example SampleTank in a track in a project that is created and a half years ago.
So the exact problem is that I, in new projects, is not able to select plugins via Inserts / Audio Units .
Can you help me solve this problem?
    Regards Henrik

I do not think it is very user friendly, I must say.
For users of this system, it must surely be obvious that you very often have to choose musical instruments, also from instrument plug-ins.
Yes, often. That is why it is very obvious and simple for any experienced user.
    Hekke44 wrote:
Why on earth is it so complicated to choose a musical instrument? If you are not currently using this system every day, you forget the such a detail about having to press down for several seconds to select an instrument.
I do not think it is complicated at all. And you do not have to press down for several seconds. I just timed, it is 0.4 seconds of clickholding. The holding is functional:  you won't load a new instrument (and possiblly loose any work you had done on your sound) just because you accidentally clicked on a slot.
    Hekke44 wrote:
There should be a nice big green button on the screen that read 'Select musical instrument', - then a menu where you can choose whether it should be one of Logics musical instruments, or a plugin instrument.
    It would be user-friendly.
What is your view about these things?
You are basically saying it should be dumbed down to the level of some "any-kid-or-adult-idiot-can-use-it-out-of-the-box" smartphone app. I think you are overlooking that this is a Pro program, not a toy. I think you try to blame the software for the fact that you didn't know how to operate it. You're avoiding responsability. That's my view.

  • Audio Units plugin manager

    Hi guys
    I was wondering...
I have final cut pro 5 and logic pro 7 installed on my mac. I have a lot of plugins but only want certain plugins to load in Final Cut Pro, and certain plugins to load in Logic Pro. Is there a audio units manager around? I remeber hearing of one a while back but have forgotten the name!

That was the exact program I was thinking about, thankyou very very much.

  • Crash at start up due to audio units

Anyone else, IK Multimedia Amplitube has some issues with VMware, it looses a authorization if i am no careful and start a PC program., any case FCP crashes

Does anyone know of another tool than audio unit manager. The software is discontinued and it would be great to have a more reliable tool to turn off the audio units. Audio unit manager doesn't work for all of mine audio units and sometimes after turning them off i have to reinstall.
Or is it even possible to tell FCP not to load the plug-ins?
