An App to rename photo file names to date taken?

Does anyone know of an app that automatically names the photo's filename to the date the photo was taken?
Thanks

Photos on an iPad do not have meaningful file names.   If you synced Photos through iTunes their file names are turned into number sequences (ie img_95040.jpg).  There is nothing to search for that would be of any relevance, hence no to application really do this that I know of.

  • Getting file name and date taken to appear in thumbnails

How do I get my thumbnails in Media to show the file name of each photo and also the date taken? Right clicking on the thumbnail reflects that the "show file info" box is checked. I have Elements 11 (was using Elements 6) and the operating system in Windows 7 and the photos are in jpeg format.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  • Photo file names Deleted by iPad

Asked this 3 months ago, but got no response. Can't understand what iPad does to photo file names. 1. Can't see photo file name in albums/events. 2. when iPad emails photo, the file that is received is called only La Foto (the photo, my wife uses spanish). If I send her a photo with a name I assigned (date, camera-assigned number, file size), and she saves it to an album and sends it back, the file name I sent her is gone, and photo is simply La Foto. How can you organize or keep track of photos, w/o info such as name, date, camera number, etc.? And why does iPad remove specifically created names? Nothing in Manual or Settings on this.
We've an iPad, and also a MB Air and iMac.

Thanks for your time doing the check.
I'm sorry that currently I don't have the similiar resource to do the same.
I guess that it might be the difference caused by different iOS / idevice.
I think that I'll check and modify the app after I got iOS 6 devices.
Thanks for your comments and your time.
Thanks for your reply, and I hope you get a more recent device soon for Father's/Mother's Day or whatever!  I'm a little confused as to what the situation is.  According to w'pedia the iOS 5 that you have does have photostream, but I don't know if it supports multiple streams (which you create by touching the + when in photostream).  Is the problem that your version does not support multiple streams so you can't test the issue I raised, or is it that it does support multiple streams and works correctly with iOS 5 but not with iOS 6?
PS: I've checked, and find my iPod has the same limitation as I mentioned above with the iPad.

  • Can We rename BAD File name in SQL Loader

    Hi All,
Can we rename BAD File name in SQL loader?
    If yes, how?
    Thanks in Advance,
    S

    Hi,
You can rename the bad file before running SQL*Loader, or specify the name of the bad file using the BADFILE clause followed by a filename. If you do not specify a name for the bad file, the name defaults to the name of the datafile with an extension or file type of .bad

Are you talking about changing the question that you have entered on OTN? If so, I guess you will need to contact Oracle support and have them to request OTN admin to do so ... good luck.

  • File name and Date Display as an obj not the data

    All,
The issue that I am having is that when I view a Visio file hosted on SharePoint. The file was created in Visio 2007 and when it is opened by Visio 2007 and Visio Viewer in SharePoint. The file name field object and date
modified object show the information. The issue is when the file is opened by a device that has Visio 2010 the information does not show. Is there something that I can do for these users to have it show correctly.

    Hi,
Which way did you open the Visio 2007 file in SharePoint?Opened it in the browser or downloaded it to open? I had test in my environment. Insert a text box>Add a data/time field, it worked fine both in Visio 2007, 2010.
Thus, let‘s do some test to narrow down the issue’s reason.
1.Download the Visio 2007 file and open it with Visio 2010.
If it worked fine, the issue seems more related to Visio object and sharePoint connection.
If it does not display the information in Visio 2010 by a device client, the issue was more related to Visio 2010 client.
2.Create a new drawing included file name and Date
    field in Visio 2010.
If the new drawing displays correct, the issue is more related the original, please try to repair the file or re-create the file name and Date filed.
If the new drawing still displays incorrect, please try to start Visio 2010 in safemode, some third-party add-ins my be casued the issue.
If the issue still exists, try to repair Visio 2010.

  • Files arranged by date added, but changing file name changes date added

I've got my Downloads folder set to view (in the Finder) by "date added", a very useful feature. However, if I change a file name, the "date added" changes to that new time, and "date modified" stays the same as it was. This doesn't make sense to me... isn't date added just that, when it was added to the folder? Why would this happen? Any workarounds or suggestions?

You should use the 'File/Directory Info' functionality.
This will return the last modificatoin of the file.

  • Is there an app to rename photos on iPhone.

I take pictures on the fly for a business.  But I need to rename them to keep track of things.  Plus I have to email the pictures from my phone and they must be renamed before the client receives them.
I've searched all over the internet to see if there is a way to do it by default but it seems there is not a way.  I've searched for apps but the only one I can is "Flowsee".  And this app doesn't work.  It absolutely *****.  And the renamed files get hidden and difficult to access.  Long story short, it's not user friendly.  It's also very slow and bogs down system.
    Thanks for any

I have not used it, but I did find it in the apple store (photo-sort) and read enough reviews that I would buy it if needed.
There are 370 ratings averaging 2.5 stars, and 156 reviews.  Many of the one star reviewers simply say it doesn't do what it claims, but several five star reviewers say it does work, and you just need to use it properly.  One very helpful review talked about renaming files - found a bug that causes the app to close if your rename changed the first character of the file name, but when opened again, the file has been correctly named.  This could be annoying if you are doing a lot of files, but it is also something that you could expect a fix for.  I've bought apps for $1.99 when I knew I was taking a chance, but really needed the functionality.  It's not a lot of money to lose, IMO.  I suggest you check out the reviews yourself.

  • I refuse to pay for an app to rename photos

I work professionally in film and video production and just bought a new 64GB iphone 5 for $399, hoping that it would speed up a lot of my workflow (quickly and easily manage media files and sharing, no annoying bugs and the other things we generally expect from Apple). After a couple days of using it I am totally let down, the main problem being how little control over your own file system you are given in the Apple framework. In my industry I really need to be able to fluidly and reliably send files and info about files.
One problem that belongs to this category that I am experiencing is an inability to rename or at least tag photos with identifying keywords. What if a client or coworker needs a bunch of info that can easily be communicated with photos, but you need to organize them somewhat before sending? You are stuck with a mess of generic names and a bunch of recommendations online for paid apps.
    I will say this:
If there is no way for me to rename my own photo files for absolutely free, no strings attached, I am definitely returning the phone on principle! Isn't there at least a free app for this? I am amazed at how unsuccessful my attempts to find one have been so far

    Hi,
First, it is a fundamental characteristic of iOS to have no access or control over files.  The very concept of this mobile OS is based on Apps and not files.
Given said this, your post appears really strange to me.  If you do work as a professional in film industries, please tell me you don't rely only an iPhone camera for pictures and movies!  It's definetively not intended for that.  Even I, who's only an amateur, use external softwares to manage libraries and do modification like Aperture or iMovies.
If you want to edit movies/picture took externally and sync to your iPhone, then, you must edit with the software initially used.  If you want to edit movies/picture took with your iPhone, then don't mention you are a professional and like anyone, pay for iPhoto or iMovies.
Mobiles devices are based on the idea of paying per function cheap and small softwares.  A couple of dollards for usefull features should not raise concern up to returning the hardware.  It's more probable that you were looking at the wrong hardware in the first place to fullfill your needs.
And I can tell you, even on a Nikon camera, I don't change Tag nor files names and I'm only an amateur.  You should rethink your process flow.

  • How do I change a photo file name, e.g. DSC001, etc.?

When I either import or download digital images into IPhoto, I need to change the filename in some instances.  Using the Information feature in IPhoto, I give the photo a name or identifier and add other information.  However, when I then burn the photo to a CD, the original filename, e.g. DSC001, etc. shows up.  How can I change it?

    Aaron Marquez wrote:
    This isn't true.
Select the photo, then Press Command + I or go to View > Info and double click the photo filename to rename it.
    Best,
    Aaron
That does NOT change the file name and does not help (Unless you use the option to use the title for the file name during export) - You can not change the file name while the photo is in iPhoto (unless you do so using the finder awhick will corrupt your library and cause data loss)
