With humble request, I would like to request all Ace Members and Top Users in the forum to provide following source of knowledge on Oracle:
1. Free Book
2. Online / Chat Support
3. Article
4. White Paper
5. Key Note
6. Troubleshoot
7. Ace Experience
8. Expert’s conversation Room
9. How to

If you provide above mentioned dozen, source of knowledge; here are demerit which may be:
1.     It may decrease the sale of priced books.
2.     It may decrease the revenue to metalink.
3.     It may decrease the sale of priced study material, sold by Oracle University.
4.     It may cause of highlighting the lacks and mistakes left in oracle documentation.
5.     It may be cause of lowering the sale of third party tools.
But;
If you provide above mentioned dozen, source of knowledge; here are sure merits:
1. Factors, who are working for decrease the popularity of oracle, will suddenly surrender.
2. It will boost user base in term of quantity and quality.
3. It will direct help and solutions to working oracle DBA in the industry with no more doubts and confusion.
4. It will ease burden on oracle teaching society.
5. Certification aspirants will be able to get to the point and expertise help.
6. It will stop more talking over limitations and demerit in comparisons to other RDBMS.
7. It will provide answers to how to provide ease, robust, long lasting solution and ultimate use of resources in view of cost saving.
8. If oracle education will so easy then, it will help to provide good and increased certified DBA to IT industry.
Now, you please consider…!

If you provide above mentioned dozen, source of
knowledge; here are demerit which may be:
1.     It may decrease the sale of priced books.Probably not. People don;t read.
2.     It may decrease the revenue to metalink.Probably not. People need patches.
3.     It may decrease the sale of priced study material, sold by Oracle University.Probably not. People don't read.
4.     It may cause of highlighting the lacks and mistakes left in oracle documentation.Probably not. There is a forum dedicated to this.
5.     It may be cause of lowering the sale of third party tools.Probably not. It's all about religion and comfort levels.
>
But;
If you provide above mentioned dozen, source of
knowledge; here are sure merits:
1. Factors, who are working for decrease the
popularity of oracle, will suddenly surrender.Probably not. Religious people will argue for their religion even in the face of fact. And loyalty to programming and other computer tools borders on religion.
2. It will boost user base in term of quantity and quality.Probably not. People are not that willing to learn.
3. It will direct help and solutions to working oracle DBA in the industry with no more doubts and confusion.Probably not. http://orafaq.com has been doing this for years now and people are just as stupid as ever.
4. It will ease burden on oracle teaching society.Probably not. People are to lazy to learn.
5. Certification aspirants will be able to get to the point and expertise help.Probably not. Certification aspirants mostly want to be certified - learning is irrelevant.
6. It will stop more talking over limitations and demerit in comparisons to other RDBMS.Probably not. See my earlier comment about religion.
7. It will provide answers to how to provide ease, robust, long lasting solution and ultimate use of
resources in view of cost saving.Probably not. The answers are out there in easy to read format but people are too lazy to search.
8. If oracle education will so easy then, it will help to provide good and increased certified DBA to
IT industry.Only in an ideal world.

    Hello
    Have a look at this Asktom thread. I think it covers everything you need:
    http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:341621061576567593::NO::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID,F4950_P8_CRITERIA:6379798216275
    People tend to volunteer their time to answer questions on here when they get a chance i.e. when they have a bit of spare time from the work they are paid to do. You aren't guaranteed to get a quick response or any response at all, although normally you will. If you need a guaranteed quick response and followup, you may be better using oracle support services.

    My form was created by FormsCentral.  I save as a PDF and emailed it to all of my club members.  When they complete the form, save it, and email it back to me, I get a blank form. Why?

    If you had iCloud backup turned on, and it made a backup - yes.  If you didn't have iCloud backup turned on - but were using iCloud for Contacts, calendars, etc.  You will get the contacts and calendars, etc back.
    Purchases made with your appleID can be redownloaded as long as they are still available in the iTunes store.
    If you connected your phone to a computer with iTunes, there may be a backup on there as well.

    Adding existing apple id to an iCloud family share
    I would like to add family members to my existing apple id that is used for my iCloud account.  All of the family members already have existing apple ids.  Can I make these existing apple ids part of my family?  I have tried this, but "verifying" the apple id always fails with "existing family member" or an error something to the effect "unable to do at this time, try again later."
    Thanks

    "am I still able to register another phone to the same ID?"
    Yes.
    ") that I do end up creating a new apple ID "
    This will cause complications.  i do not recommend this.

    Dont you guys think that we need a way to stop threads once the problem is resolved as per the user who posted the question ?
    Regards,
    http://askyogesh.com

    I understand, my aims was, instead of just saying what is your OS or what is your Oracle version, one could say, this differce on OS to OS and Oracle version to Oracle version and giving little hint/answer to the question.Assume that there for example n different OS and n different versions of Oracle SW.
    Somebody ask the question (reason of problem is specific for OS or version of DB) and don't provide OS version and DB version.
    Means that you will give him n hints/answers? Probably no.
    There is problem people creating topics with lack description of problem/question. Bad subject "Urgent!!!! I need help!!!" instead of "Frequent ORA-xxxxxx errors on 9.x.x.x"
    or description "My database suddenly crashed. Why?" instead of detailed description including OS, DB version and errors from alert log.
    If someone didn't provide useful information I will ask for it but I won't writing "novel" to my post.

  • How do you add an iTunes Gift Card so that all purchases of any members of a Family Sharing Group can use the credit?

    How can all family members of a Family Sharing Group use a gift card that has been been applied to the iTunes master account? I added a gift card to our master iTunes account for my grandson, and even though he's a family sharing group member, none of the purchases I have approved from his requests have used the gift card credit. A search of the iTunes support site failed to turn up anything that even remotely addresses this topic. It would seem reasonable to assume that any purchase made by any family member should be able to use the gift card credit since all purchases go through the master account, but this does not appear to be the case.

    Regarding your statement about the gift card balance being used if redeemed to the organizers account - http://www.apple.com/feedback.
    Regarding redeeming the gift card to the child's account, it is the same as redeeming to yours.  You have to be signed in to the iTunes store using the child's apple ID, then redeem the gift card there.  If you already redeemed the card on your ID, you won't be able to redeem it again.

  • Getting All Local Groups, Group Members and Local accounts on all Servers

    Hello Everyone,
    Sorry if this has been covered already, but I didnt see anything that quite answered my question.
    I've been given the task of generating an Access Control List here at work and I've managed to piece together a few scripts that gets me so close it's frustrating.
    The script I have now will parse through a text file with all my Windows servers listed in it and it does output in the console the server name, all of the groups on the server (Administrators, Remote Users, Backup Operators, etc.) and all the individual
    members of those groups and nested groups.
    However, I can't seem to get it to export to a CSV for easy digestion.  I've tried to pipe the export-csv command, but the csv it gives me doesnt have any useful information in it.
    Here is the script:
    $list =@()
    $Servers=Get-Content ListOfComputers.txt
    foreach($server in $Servers) {
    $server | % {
    $server = $_
    $server
    $computer = [ADSI]"WinNT://$server,computer"
    $computer.psbase.children | where { $_.psbase.schemaClassName -eq 'group' } | foreach {
    "`tGroup: " + $Group.Name
    $group =[ADSI]$_.psbase.Path
    $group.psbase.Invoke("Members") | foreach {
    $us = $_.GetType().InvokeMember("Adspath", 'GetProperty', $null, $_, $null)
    $us = $us -replace "WinNT://",""
    $class = $_.GetType().InvokeMember("Class", 'GetProperty', $null, $_, $null)
    $list += new-object psobject -property @{Group = $group.Name;Member=$us;MemberClass=$class;Server=$server}
    "`t`tMember: $us ($Class)"
    The format it pumps out to the console is good, other than it's somewhat upside down, the members are all listed above the group name such as below, where there's no members in the Administrators group, but User1, 2 and 3 are part of the Remote Desktop Group.
     This isn't horrible as I can cut and paste it out of the console and into a spreadsheet, but then i have to shift things up a row and doing that for the entire list is going to be way more work than I'd like.
    Server01
    Administrators
    User1
    User2
    User3
    Remote Desktop Users
    When I use export-csv on the script above I get a bunch of numbers rather than groups or members like this:
    Length
    13
    51
    40
    35
    63
    63
    35
    32
    Hopefully, there's someone out there who can help me tweak this script so that I can just dump it all to a csv and be done, with little to no massaging of the data afterward.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tyler

    Sure. After you've run the script, type this in the console:
    $list | Export-Csv .\groupInformation.csv -NoTypeInformation
    You'll then have a CSV file in the directory, open that with Excel and see if that gives you the information you're after.

  • Hard Delete all soft delete records (members) in Master Data Service (MDS) database

    Hi,
    I am using Master Data Service for couple of months now. I can load, update, merge and soft delete data in MDS. Occasionally we even have to hard delete data from MDS. If we keep on soft deleting records in a MDS table eventually there will be huge number
    of soft deleted records.
    Is there an easy way to hard delete all the soft deleted records from all MDS tables in a specific Model.
    Regards,
    Rehan

    We did develop a Transact SQL procedure for this using the staging interface. It works and can be used freely :)

  • Lsgrp - list all members of a group

    lsgrp is a small and fast utility written in C that does just one thing: it lists the members of a group. It can be used in scripts that need to do something for each user in a group, such as setting up directories or generating per-user configuration files. There is a section on the project page explaining why a new utility was necessary.

    I agree, addressing a new message to a group using Address through the Mail program seems to fill in just the first recipient's name.
    A work around is to start your new message, click on Address and select the group you wish to send the message to. Take the extra step to highlight the first person in the group and then command-A to select all. When you then click on the To: button all of the recipient's will be in the address line of your mail message.
    Alternately, start your new message and then type the name of the group in the To: line (don't use the Address button at all). You don't have to get all of the name typed in before the group name is identified. When the group name has been properly identified just hit the Return key and all of the group members will be filled in the To: line. This should do what you are hoping for.

  • Report script command to get all Level 0 members of a given member

    Hi,
    Is there any Report script command to get all Level 0 members of a given member (Parent)? (very similar to @RELATIVE (mbrName, 0) in Calc Scripts).
    <DIMBOTTOM gives all the level 0 members in the dimension.
    There is a command called
    <LEAVES mbrName
    This works only for ASO.
    Is there anything similar for BSO?
    Appreciate your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Ethan.

    from my blog on report scripts at
    http://glennschwartzbergs-essbase-blog.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
    Third, there is a command to stay away from, its DimBottom. [edited] Like @CURRMBR in calc scripts, DimBottom is one of those commands that is very slow. If you use Query designer to create a report, it uses a better way. It uses the link command. In sample.basic to get all level 0 products it uses
    <Link ((<LEV("Product", 0)) AND ( <DESC("Product")))

  • How to find list of all managers & members of a chat room?

    Hi,
    Is there any way we can list all allowed managers and members of a persistent chat room?
    I tried this command "get-cspersistentchatroom" but it won't give us full list.
    BR,
    Ajit

    BTW, the default for that $FormatEnumerationLimit = 4 .... so, by default, that command will only return 4 results per property.   So, if you do the $FormatEnumerationLimit =-1 in your session - it should affect all of the get commands that you
    run in the session.    The "-1" is 'unlimited'.

    •regexp-Limits the amount of regular expression memory.
    •sticky-Limits the number of entries in the sticky table. You must configure a minimum value for sticky to allocate resources for sticky entries, because the sticky software receives no resources under the unlimited setting.
    •xlates-Limits the number of network and port address translations entries.
    •minimum number-Specifies the lowest acceptable value. Enter an integer from 0.00 to 100.00 percent (two-decimal places of granularity). The number argument specifies a percentage value for all contexts that are members of the class. When used with the rate keyword, the number argument specifies a value per second.
    •maximum {equal-to-min | unlimited}-Specifies the maximum resource value: either the same as the minimum value or no limit.
    Note The limit that you set for individual resources when you use the limit-resource command overrides the limit that you set for all resources when you use the limit-resource all command.
    If you lower the limits for one context (context A) in order to increase the limits of another context (context B), you may experience a delay in the configuration change because the ACE will not lower the limits of context A until the resources are no longer being used by the context.
    For example, to allocate 20 percent of all resources (minimum and maximum) to all member contexts of the resource class, enter:
    (config-resource)# limit-resource all minimum 20% maximum equal-to-min

  • Members appearing in "Entity" Dimension.

    Hi All,
    There are some members appearing in 'ENTITY' dimension which are not opened by us and they are appearing in all applications.
    Are these members Seeded ?
    Because they are also appearing in the system of another client where the implementation is also done by us.
    Members are :Enterprise Global -> Enterprise US -> Operations -> Corporate Fin -> Sales & Marketing -> Finance.
    Can anyone please guide us on this.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Ace.

    hi AcEace,
    they are seeded by the little green gremlins who live under your desk. when you weren't looking they jump into your computer and seed your client system too. watch out after they seed they germinate and then you get more little gremlins.

    Hi

    MaxL does not have commands to alter an outline directly, except the reset command which can delete all dimensions but not members selectively. The best you could do would be to run a rules file (import dimensions) using a file that contains the members you want to keepload rule for the dimension. As typical the warning is to test this first before you do it on a production database
