An CMR related exception

Hi! I am using Weblogic 6.1 SP2 and EJB 2.0. I built a CMR between two
Entity Beans. However, I got the following exception while running:
"javax.ejb.EJBException: When a cmp-field and a cmr-field (relationship) are
mapped to the same column, the setXXX method for the cmp-field may not be
called. The cmp-field is read-only."
However, in the ejbCreate() method in CMP in EJB 2.0, I have to use setXXX
method to initialize the XXX cmp-field. Am I wrong?
Can any guru help? thanks!

See section 10.5.2 discussion on ejbCreate<METHOD>.

Anand, thanks! I tried with ejbPostCreate(). Still does not work. Couldyou
point out which section in the Spec has what you said? Thanks again.

Not sure if I understand your question but I believe you cannot call the
setXXX methods on an CMR field in the ejbCreate() method. The earliest
you
can do is in the ejbPostCreate(). This is a constraint set by the Spec.

Thanks! thorick,
Is this contrain set by EJB 2.0 Spec or by Weblogic itself? And HOW to
do
the "manipulation of the relationship" to workaround?
Details pls, Thanks!

thorick, my exception is raised just in ejbCreate() when I call
setXXX().
Are you sure you explaination is true? or it is just your
understanding?
Thanks!
Ah, major retraction time. Sorry, I was confusing the situation
with
the
general case of setting a Primary Key cmp-field.
It turns out that one may NEVER call setXXX() in a cmp-field that
is mapped to a column that is also a foreign-key column which is
managed by the EJB Container. This not allowed because of the samereason I
mentioned in the previous post: to call setXXX() on such a field
would
amount to
managing a relationship outside
of the EJB Container's mechanism for managing a relationship.
You may do getXXX() but never setXXX().
The only way to set the value of the column is via manipulation of
the relationship.
Sorry for any confusion !

  • Upgrade System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 CU6 -- 2012 RTM issues (Assembly related exception in log)

    Hi guys
    I am currently performing a distributed, complex upgrade with a customer:
    4 management servers (1 being RMS), both databases (OM & DW) on a single SQL Server (2008 R2 SP2)
    We moved over the RMS role to another server and decomissioned the old one due to it being a 2003 server.
    Then we upgraded all non-RMS management servers.
    We had some issues with them as well (same error in the log), but when we reinstalled the 2007 R2 binaries & patches and redid the upgrade it came through fine.
    The RMS however keeps throwing the same error. Things I tried:
    - Full clean of the server including momclean and msizap, then reinstall the RMS and retry the upgrade
    - Reregister of the msiexec server
    I am suspecting some issues with assemblies and / or GAC, but no clear proof on that, only that it crashes after performing assembly operations.
    Below an extract from the RemoveMOMServer.log (the error occurs when uninstalling SCOM 2007 R2)
    Can anyone help out or give me some pointers on possible causes?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • SSL related exceptions on visiting https pages with OC4J 10.1.3.1.0

    I have a standalone oc4j version 10.1.3.1.0 that I configured for SSL by following instructions of this link: http://technology.amis.nl/blog/268/quick-and-easy-ssl-in-oc4j-standalone.
    <OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home/config/secure-web.xml is as follows:

    <web-site xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/web-site-10_0.xsd" secure="true" display-name="OC4J 10g (10.1.3) Default Web Site" schema-major-version="10" schema-minor-version="0" >

    </web-site>
    As I interact with https pages, I start to see below exceptions in the oc4j log that I like to know what are those exceptions
    are all about. Any thoughts on that and could it be that I am missing some SSL settings that may explain the below exceptions ?
    and how about the below java.lang.NullPointerException ?

    Hello,
    Not positive what is going on here, but NullPointException indicates that something does not exist or hasn't been instantiated.
    Try: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=mercurial+netbeans+installation&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
    Hope this helps...

  • CMR relations

    I discovered that the underlying cause of the previous error I was getting was that
    I was attempting to access a CMR collection field from a remote client. The cause
    of the underlying error I get from weblogic is:
    "Attempt to serialize a collection that implements a cmr-field. Collections managed
    by the CMP RDBMS persistence manager may not be passed directly to a remote client."
    This doesn't seem very "remote object-ish". Which leads me to believe that there
    must be a way to do this. If not, it kind of raises the question of "what good are
    WL CMP entity beans as true remote objects?". If there is a way to do this, could
    someone kindly point me in the right direction?

    Errp.. I responded to your other message before reading this one. See that
    response for one workaround if you REALLY want to have remote interfaces
    directly to entity beans with CMR fields. Personally I either use the
    Session Facade pattern for remotes or just package EJBs and web-app
    components together in an EAR and use entity-bean local interfaces directly
    from web-app components. This "direct" approach allows complete, natural
    traversal through the object graph, including cmr collections. Downside is
    transactional requirements and coupling between webapp components and bean
    attributes, but that seems a small price to pay for natural "OO" interaction
    with entities.

    Dear readers,
    Found the cause: somewhere OpenJPA threw an exception which caused the transaction to roll back.
    The exception was caught locally hiding the rollback.

    However it showed up that wl8.1 with ejb2.0 seems to change the sequence of storing dependend EntityBeans so that we received some ForeignKey-Constraint-Violations.<br>
    Therefor we introduced CMR to enable the container to get control over the relations. We managed to get all the CMRs right except one:<br><br>
    Tables are:<br>
    Table A(<u><b>a</u></b>,<u><b>b</u></b>,c,d) PK a,b<br>
    Table B(<u><b><i>a</u></b></i>,<u><b><i>b</u></b></i>,<u><b>m</u></b>,n) PK a,b,m <br>
    Table A(<u><b><i>a</i></b></u>,<u><b><i>b</i></b></u>,<u><b>x</u></b>,<b><i>m</i></b>) PK a,b,x <br><br>
    Foreign keys are:<br>
    FK B->A using a & b<br>
    FK C->A using a & b, C->B using a, b & m<br>
    (in words: B extends A, C extends A, C may extend B must does not have to)<br><br>
    The FK C->B I do not know how to manage via CMR.<br>
    If I try to set the Reference to B within the ejbPostCreate() using setParent(B) I get this Error:<br>
    [EJB:010146]The setXXX method for a cmr-field that is mapped to a primary key may not be called. The cmr-field is read-only.<br><br>
    If I try not to use the setParent(B) but to set an Reference using setM(m) I get this Error:<br>
    [EJB:010145]When a cmp-field and a cmr-field (relationship) are mapped to the same column, the setXXX method for the cmp-field may not be called. The cmp-field is read-only.<br><br>
    Is there any way to solve this Problem without changing the Database?<br><br>
    And yes I know, you should not use compound Keys in EJB...;-)<br><br>
    Thanks in advance,<br>

    Hi Pooyan,
    thanks for having an look and answering. I agree, using hibernate could help...
    But I was interested in an solution that is will not result in changing the persistance-layer of the whole application (at least not at this moment).
    So far we are getting no errors not using cmr for this particular relation, so we are not forced to solve it.
    But there is no solution (beside changing the persistance to e.g. hibernate) for such an constellation?
    cheers,
    Stephan

  • UCM Server Service Exception

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying to integrate my WebCenter portal project with my Oracle UCM server and i need a hand to finish the integration. My questing is about a security related exception and any kind of help is appreciated. Below you can find the details;
    Thanks in advance!
    Nurhak
    Here is the problem;
    1. After i run my JDeveloper project i reach the portal screen, it is : http://127.0.0.1:7101/UCMTester-Portal-context-root/faces/pages_home
    2. I can login to here with a user name: 48111 and a password: 12345678. After i login, i can see the Contribution Folders and the subfolders under that. I can open these folders and files as well. 48111 has admin rights on both WebLogic Administration Console side and WebCenter project side.
    3. When i want to upload a new file, then i have this pop up error message:
    *Unable to upload the document.
    *You do not have permission.
    *Please refresh to see the latest content (View > Refresh Content).
    4. Then when i look at the logs on the UCM_server side i find the ServiceException log mentioned below.
    5. When i login to UCM Server (http://10.100.110.120:16200/cs) with the same username(48111) and password(12345678), then i can upload new documents.

    Hello Jonathan,
    Thank you for the reply. Now it works!!
    Here is the step for the solution:
    1. Login to Oracle Content Server http://yourserveripaddress:16200/cs with admin rights
    2. Go to Administration/Folder Configuration/System Default Information Field Configuration
    3. Change the Security Group and Update (In this step i changed it to "Public" just to see if it is working or not) and try uploading a file!
    Happy coding!

  • SAML assertion exceptions within EJB

    Okay, I'll try to keep this simple:<br /><br />We are implementing the standard LC Java API's for rendering forms (using the FormsServiceClient) and then transforming the rendered content to PDF/A using the outputClient. Since we have a lot of simultaneous requests the logic is implemented within a stateless session EJB. <br /><br />I instantiate the ServiceClientFactory within the EJB's init() method and then store the ServiceClientFactory reference as a class variable so that on subsequent business method invocations, the same ServiceClientFactory object can be reused (without going throug the overhead of instantiating one on each req). (Note that on each request, I create a new FormsServiceClient or OutputClient using the SAME ServiceClientFactory object). I have some questions/concerns:<br /><br />1) Is this form of reuse of the ServiceClientFactory object okay?<br /><br />2) We keep getting the following error:<br />><i>" <Warning> <com.adobe.idp.common.errors.exception.IDPLoggedException> <000000> <UserM:GENERIC_WARNING: [Thread Hashcode: 668113225] | [AuthenticationManagerBean] errorCode:12804 errorCodeHEX:0x3204 message:Could not validate SAML Token --- Assertion is not valid. Current time is greater than NOTonOrAfter time specified in the Assertion>"</i><br /><br />After a simple restart of the EJB, the error goes away. How can this be fixed? What's causing this?<br /><br />Any help would be much appreciated!

    PROBLEM
    Using the same instance of ServiceClientFactory to remotely invoke the services exposed by the LiveCycle container can lead to
    exception related to assertion expiry
    Solution
    To handle the timeout use the ThrowHandler mechanism provided by the ServiceClientFactory framework
    Detailed explanation
    LiveCycle provides a client sdk for java based client to invoke its services remotely.
    An invocation involves Creation of a ServiceClientFactory instance Setting the user credential in thefactory instance Pass that factory to a service client or use that to create InvocationRequest directly
    Use the client to make the actual request.
    For more details refer to Invoking
    LiveCycle ES Using the Java API .
    A ServiceClientFactory instance once created is valid for a ceratin
    period of time which is by default 120 min. if the same instance is used to invoke beyond this period then it would lead to an exception stating that
    the session has expired [com.adobe.idp.um.api.impl.AuthenticationManagerImpl]
    errorCode:16421 errorCodeHEX:0x4025 message:Could not validate SAML
    Token --- Assertion has expired and hence not valid for user
    [administrator@DefaultDom]. Its valid till time [Thu Oct 22
    17:07:53 IST
    2009] was found to be before the current time [Thu Oct
    22 17:58:18 IST 2009]
    This is not an issue if the ServiceClientFactory instance is used for short duration. However if you are going to perform a long
    running task like converting large number of documents to pdf ,applying policies to them etc then it would be an issue.
    Session Expiry
    Before fxing the issue some info on what is session expiry.
    When you use a ServiceClientFactory instance to invoke the service following fow happens
    You set the credentials in the properties and invoke theservice
    LiveCycle on server side validates the credentials and issues a Context. It is sort of a ticket which can be reused later instead of the actual credentials.
    Upon receiving the response from the server the ServiceClientFactory instance deletes its own copy of credentials and instead stores the Context For later invocations this Context instance is passed instead of the user credentials
    This whole fow is done to ensure that user's credentials are not sent for each remote call thus improving the security.
    For more information on Context refer to
    User Identity in LiveCycle .
    Solution
    To fx this issue you would have to re authenticate to LiveCycle and get the Context reissued. the best way to do that is to make use of the ThrowHandler provided by the ServiceClientFactory framework
    STEP1 -  Create a Throwhandler
    * This ThrowHandler caches the user credentials and uses them
    to refresh the Context in the
    * ServiceClientFactory upon expiry.
    private static class SimpleTimeoutThrowHandler implements
    ThrowHandler {
    private String username;
    private String password;
    public SimpleTimeoutThrowHandler(String username, String
    password) {
    this.username = username;
    this.password = password;
    public boolean handleThrowable(Throwable t, ServiceClient
    sc,
    ServiceClientFactory scf, MessageDispatcher md,
    InvocationRequest ir, int numTries) throws
    DSCException {
    if(timeoutError(t)){
    //The call to AuthenticationManager do not require
    authentication so the default properties
    //are suffcient
    AuthenticationManager am =
    new
    AuthenticationManagerServiceClient(ServiceClientFactory.createInstance(getDefaultPropertie s()));
    AuthResult ar = null;
    try {
    ar =
    am.authenticate(username,password.getBytes());
    } catch (UMException e) {
    throw new IllegalStateException(e);
    Context ctx = new Context();
    ctx.initPrincipal(ar);
    //Refresh the ServiceClientFactory instance with
    the new context
    scf.setContext(ctx);
    logger.info("Refreshed the context associated with
    ServiceCLientFactory");
    //Now tell SCF to try the invocation again
    return true;
    //Check so that we do not wrap the exception again
    if(t instanceof DSCException)
    throw (DSCException)t;
    if(t instanceof RuntimeException)
    throw (RuntimeException)t;
    // how is it possible to get this far?
    throw new IllegalStateException(t);
    private boolean timeoutError(Throwable t) {
    if(!(t.getCause() instanceof UMException)){
    return false;
    UMException ue = (UMException) t.getCause();
    //Check that UMException is due to the
    assertion/context expiry
    if(UMConstants.ErrorCodes.E_TOKEN_INVALID ==
    ue.getErrCode()){
    return true;
    return false;
    This ThrowHandler would be invoked by the ServiceClientFactory upon receiving any exception. The handler would then determine if its a timeout related exception and then would refresh the Context associated with the factory instance and tells it to retry the invocation.
    STEP - 2 Register the handler
    ServiceClientFactory.installThrowHandler(new
    SimpleTimeoutThrowHandler(username, password));
    Note: The handler should be registered only once in the application
    STEP 3 - Perform your invocation
    Following sample would try to apply policies on all the fles present in a directory
    Properties p = getDefaultProperties();
    p.setProperty(DSC_CREDENTIAL_USERNAME, username);
    p.setProperty(DSC_CREDENTIAL_PASSWORD, password);
    ServiceClientFactory scf =
    ServiceClientFactory.createInstance(p);
    //Now do some long running operation
    String inputDirName ="path-to-input-dir";
    String outDirName = "path-to-out-dir";
    String policyName = "the-policy-name";
    File inDir = new File(inputDirName);
    File outDir = new File(outDirName);
    RightsManagementClient rmClient = new
    RightsManagementClient(scf);
    DocumentManager docManager = rmClient.getDocumentManager();
    //Iterate over all the pdf in the inDir and apply the
    policies. If this takes a
    for(File pdfFile : inDir.listFiles()){
    Document inDoc = new Document(pdfFile, false);
    Document securedDoc = docManager.applyPolicy(inDoc,
    pdfFile.getName(), null, policyName, null, null);
    securedDoc.copyToFile(new
    File(outDir,pdfFile.getName()));
    Now the invocation would complete even if it takes a long time. if any session expiry occurs then our ThrowHandler would take care of that.
    here's a sample:

  • Exception: "Could not validate SAML Token"

    We have an evaluation system setup that we are using to generate PDF from PS. We're connecting via the EJB client, and typically have had no problems. Until today. At some point today we began seeing exceptions being thrown on the client:
    Caused by: com.adobe.idp.um.api.UMException | [com.adobe.idp.um.api.impl.AuthenticationManagerImpl] errorCode:16421 errorCodeHEX:0x4025 message:Could not validate SAML Token --- Assertion has expired and hence not valid for user [administrator@DefaultDom]. Its valid till time [Tue Feb 04 10:58:45 MST 2014] was found to be before the current time [Tue Feb 04 16:04:41 MST 2014]
    Simply bouncing the app server where the client code is running solved the problem, however we'd like to better understand what is going on and why. Nothing that I can find in the docs seems to indicate the cause/solution, and possible solutions have links that appear to no longer function: http://cookbooks.adobe.com/post_Renewing_the_context_to_handle_session_expiry-16410.html
    Any suggestions and/or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Exception while exposing Application Module Methods as Web Service

    Hello Everyone,
    I am working on Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 version and tried to expose one method of application module as web service. To do this, i used "Service Interface" tab of Application module within Jdeveloper and Jdeveloper had generated all interfaces, stubs, code for the Session bean required for web service. I am now trying to "Test Web Service" from the implementation class generated then i am getting this error in Weblogic deployment. Any help/pointers would be highly appreciated.
    I used another installation of Jdeveloper same version at my collegues desktop but getting the same error. Not sure, if this version of Jdeveloper is having issue in exposing application module as web service. I think that database related exception can be ignored as no database call is being made by the application.

    Hello,
    Is this resolved yet? The reason I am asking is that I'm getting the same error as yours. I am trying to run the StoreFront tutorial in JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 and here's what I got:

  • Can somebody explain to me how java and xml are related?

    Hi guys
    im new to java and xml.Been reading a lot regarding java and don't seem to have a problem with it...
    the problem is the xml part...im doing a simple GUI project using swing(online store) and i have to convert it to xml
    I have absolutely NO IDEA why i must convert my java to xml and have no idea how to do that.I been reading on the net that xml is a exten~ markup language and it is better and useful.
    Can somebody explain to me in layman terms
    1)how is java and xml related in?
    2)why do ppl want to convert java to xml when they can just stick to java
    3)what is actually xml...
    4)Do i need a program to create xml like i need jcreater to create java application
    5)How do we actually convert?is there any links that you guys could tell me?
    thank you

    im new to java and xml.Been reading a lot regarding
    java and don't seem to have a problem with it...Okay.
    the problem is the xml part...im doing a simple GUI
    project using swing(online store) and i have to
    o convert it to xmlYou have to? So presumably somebody in a position of authority told you that?
    I have absolutely NO IDEA why i must convert my java
    to xml and have no idea how to do that.I been reading
    on the net that xml is a exten~ markup language and
    it is better and useful.I have no idea either (besides which, it doesn't make sense). But why ask us? Somebody told you to do that, ask them why.
    Sure, XML is useful. But it isn't a programming language so it can't be used as a substitute for Java.
    Can somebody explain to me in layman terms
    1)how is java and xml related in?They aren't related, except perhaps in that they are both used in computers.
    2)why do ppl want to convert java to xml when they
    can just stick to javaThey don't.
    3)what is actually xml...Start here for numerous definitions:
    http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&lr=&oi=defmore&q=define:XML
    4)Do i need a program to create xml like i need
    jcreater to create java applicationNo, XML is just text. But then Java code is just text too.
    5)How do we actually convert?is there any links that
    you guys could tell me?You don't convert Java to XML. My guess is that because you don't know much about Java or XML, you have misinterpreted something that somebody told you.
