is there any other way for marking multiple messages in Nokia 5230 rather than tapping a message----> tapping option---> then mark/ unmark ----> and finally mark... please help me

This feature is missing on most Nokia models now a days.. Either you select ONE at a time or ALL at a time.. No option to select a few as you want..
Have a look at the PENCIL KEY application if it serves your purpose.. Google for it..

How do you select multiple messages/conversations on SMS/MMS to forward or save to memory card on Samsung Stratosphere?
My screen is cracked and I need to replace my phone and I don't see a way of selecting multiple messages or even conversations one at a time to forward them to email or to save them to a memory card. I can delete thread but can't forward it or move it. Is there a setting somewhere that will move the storage location for messages to the memory card instead of internal?
If not, any suggestions on backup apps? I have heard of Txtract to back up SMS and MMS messages, and Titanium Backup to back up everything (SMS, MMS, apps, app data...). Anyone have any experience with those, or other suggestions?

Dragging to select multiple messages in Mail 6.0 and OS 10.8

With recent software updates, there no longer seems to be a way to select multiple messages other than shift-click. I have always just dragged to select a number at once that I need to delete or move for one reason or another, which is much faster. what happened to the drag to select multiple messages in recent mail and OS 10.8 incarnations

Cannot select multiple messages in a sequence diagram

In sequence diagrams, deleting multiple messages is tedious because multiple messages cannot be selected by using a selection rectangle.
1) If the rectangle contains a single message, its object is also highlighted. So when multiple messages are selected, the corresponding objects are selected.
2) If the selection rectangle overlaps a single line of the combined fragments box, the entire box is selected.
I could same time if Studio used normal CTRL conventions. In other applications, holding down CTRL has two possible results.
1) If the item to be selected is not highlighted, then that item becomes highlighted and is added to the selection group. Studio does this.
2) If the item to be selected is already highlighted, then that item becomes non-highlighted and is removed from the selection group. Studio does not do this. So I cannot use a selection rectangle, then selectively use CTRL to remove unwanted items from the selection.
Can anyone suggest a way of selecting multiple messages?
As a side issue, does anyone know how to remove individual items from a selection?

Attempt to drag a message and Mail instead selects multiple messages

I used to be able to quickly grab a message and drag it to a folder. Now I have to click and hold before the message is grabbed. If I try to do it quickly, Mail instead begins selecting the message I am trying to drag and continues autoscrolling and selecting all the messages below it.
I drag messages to folders far more often than I select multiple messages, so this is not a boost to my productivity. It breaks a pretty basic user interface convention too. I hope this change doesn't make its way into the Finder!
For the record: Overall I am VERY happy with Snow Leopard.

Thanks for the reply. You're right (as was the original "helpful"-marked post) - dragging directly sideways does work to avoid changing the selection. However, I have a full vertical screen of message folders and my messages being dragged are almost always at the bottom (I don't use a preview pane), and I know for sure that I never had to drag sideways before dragging up before Snow Leopard.
The problem is even worse on Apple's 30" monitor, as you might imagine.
I simply need to be able to disable this undesired "multi-select mail items in the list with the mouse" functionality that (to my years of use) was never there in the past. I'm betting there is some preference setting I could put in, if only I knew what it was.

Is there NO way to select multiple songs to go into a Music Playlist at once, vs doing it one by one?!

Argh. So irritating how something that should be very simple and intuitive results in useless calls to Sprint (my carrier) and BB. with endless holds, transfers, pasing the buck,and still no results. Then I'm suggested to go to the Forums...you know...where other paying BB customers can try tp provide the IT support that BB apparetnly could care less to do for its paying customers?
Anyway, I want to have multiple playlists in my BB Music so that when I host parties, I can play a particular type of music by selecting one of the playlists. I was able to move songs to my BB but they only seem to move to the general Music Library (All Songs). I was able to create Playlists, but it seems you can only move songs to the Playlist ONE AT A TIME. There is apparently no way to select multiple songs to go to a playlist? No way to move an entire folder of music from my PC to my BB songs, as its own separate sub-folder (i.e., Playlist)?
I know I've been able to do this with other devices in the past.
Otherwise the BB Music Playlist options seems totally pointless.

You can try to delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

Easy way to aggregate multiple dimensions or measures?

We've experimented with some odd solutions, but I wonder if there is an easy way to aggregate multiple measures in a report variable. Here are the details:
Assume the universe has several numeric measures called MAX_ONE, MAX_TWO, and MAX_THREE. We take advantage of these measures for all the normal reasons. However, we also need the total aggregate MAX_TOTAL of all of those MAX values. Due to the complexity of the joins in the universe we cannot simply make another MAX_TOTAL in the universe, so instead, we are trying to create this as a report variable. However, the MAX function seems to want one dimension only. I really want a MAX of the MAX values, or more genericallly, an aggregate measure that uses other aggregate measures.
I've tried to call Max() with multiple measures as parameters, but cannot seem to get the syntax correct (if it's supported at all). Wonder if there's something I'm missing to declare a set, array, or something like that... or if there is a more creative way to solve this problem.
If suggesting solutions, please remember that adding it as a new measure in the universe is not an option for us. This particular MAX is quite complex for our universe and if we try to follow that path we end up with incompatible joins or joins that produce no rows due to the nature of the schema. So we're really focused on the solution path of creating a report variable that is an aggregate of other aggregates on the reporting side at this point.

Not really. My example only contained three max aggregates as an example. However, in reality it's more likely to have something like 20-40 of these in a report (or maybe as many as 100 in some special reports). The "IF" strategy causes a somewhat exhaustive explosion of statements... didn't think about the exact math but it's probably a factorial explosion something like (n-1)! or so. Aside from the messy look that would make it hard to maintain, there are also limits of nesting (due to stack space) and limits of the formula text itself.
P.S., I do have a solution that I'm currently using that is a way "out of the box" given our specific use case of this aggregate function. However, I'm not going to reveal it until I'm sure there isn't a better way to do this using another syntax that is directly supports this or is more efficient.

Unable to select multiple messages in Mail.

Hi,
I can't select multiple messages in Mail app. After selecting few, all of them automatically deselects. This is really annoying. I'm on 6.1.2 iP5, and this is happening from the begining. Never happened before on my iP4. The other problem with mail app is that it keeps opening my "first on the account list" e-mail account, and please don't tell me that this is normal since it never happened before. Sometimes when I try to open a random account I see a black screen

Please help me as this is driving me crazy.

Interesting interpretation of the OP's request.
I read the request as wanting to take one action that applied to many messages, rather than apply one rule many times.
For example, consider a rule that forwards the message to some other address. Selecting all messages and running the rule will generate multiple new messages - one per selected item.
that was my understanding of what the OP wanted. perhaps I'm wrong. let's wait for the OP to respond and clarify what he/she really wants.
Conversely, and how I interpreted the request, an AppleScript could collate all the selected messages and combine them into one new message - essentially running the 'forward' on many items at once.
I'll be interesting to see the OP's response to see which matches his requirements.

Yes.
Scroll to highlight the first message, and then press the SHIFT key lower left and hold it while scrolling across adjacent messages. Press Delete.
Or scroll to any date separation bar and press Menu > Delete Prior.

Isn't there an easier way for iPhoto to show (Photoshop) edited RAW photos?

Hi fellow Apple community members, below is a (very) detailed description of my problem>
Once I'm done shooting with my Canon DSLR i auto-import my pics into iPhoto '11.
My pics are shot in RAW format.
I have Photoshop CS6 set as my default image editor via iPhoto.
Once my image is edited via Photoshop i then save the image with two different methods:
i use the "save image..." button in the Camera RAW editing window and proceed to save the image in the same location and the same as the original name in the iPhoto directory.
The second method is to open the image as a non "Smart Object" file then proceed to save the image as a JPEG via "Save As", also in the same the location and file name as the original
The problem is once i've done the saving of the file. iPhoto doesn't show edits done to the original photo or even show a edited copy.
I CAN locate the edited images via the route directory within iPhoto's Finder menus.
So i assumed if i imported those edited copies it would then show in iPhoto but no cigar - A error message pops up: "The following file could not be imported . The file is in the iPhoto Library."
I then re-locate the edit files to another location, then import it into iPhoto and only then does it shows up in iPhoto - successfully edited.
So my question would be...isn't there a better or easier way for iPhoto to show your edited photos without having to jump through so many hoops?

There is no solution to this - and the same problem arises with Aperture too. The question to ask yourself is which Raw processor you want to use and then your Photos go there first.
As Larry says, iPhoto is pretty much pointed at the shooter with a point and shoot or phone who takes snaps to share with family and friends. Pros or serious hobbyits, people shooting large volumes, people shooting Raw migrate to the more powerful apps sooner or later.
Going forward, I would suggest that you explore apps like Lightroom and Aperture which make the Raw processing - and many other - element of Photoshop redundant. While iPhoto uses the same processing engine as Aperture it has less fine control. Photoshop for the photographer is on the way out. It's too expensive, most of its features are aimed at graphic artists rather than shooters. The future for Photographers is apps like Aperture, Lightroom with something like Elements for the odd touchups that these apps can't manage.

Shift-scroll not selecting multiple messages

I've got two questions, but I'll post them separately to keep the threads clean...
I just got a Curve 8330 (used to have an 8830 World Edition, with Sprint in case it matters) and I'm loving it so far. But for some reason, I can't click the SHIFT key and scroll to select multiple messages like I could on the other BB. I've tried about every combination I could think of: Left shift, right shift, alt, press and don't hold, press and hold, press both and hold, alt-shift and scroll. Nothing.
Is it a software problem?
Is there some weird "don't allow shift to be used for multiple selection" setting some place.
Oh... and yes, the Shift key works just fine for other uses.
Ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forums,
I have an Verizon 8330. You should be able to use either the right or left keys to press and scroll.
Not to be insulting, but to verify, the keys are located on the bottom row last key on each side of the keyboard.
They have an up arrow in silver along with an aA in each. You should be able to highlight the message to start, press either shift key, and scroll the trackball to the last selected item.
I was just verifying the procedure.
Has this not worked since you got it, or has it just started?

interms of copying all data from one cube to another i would create export datasource and schedule load from one cube to another.
If its in IP environment i would write a fox code or use standard copy function based on the complexity to do the same.

I have hundreds of files all in upper case that are driving me crazy. I can select them one at a time, right click and then select Transformations/Capitalize. Is there a way to select multiple files and initiate the Capitalize function?

You could use Automator to do this - take a look at the article at http://www.wikihow.com/Batch-Rename-Files-in-Mac-OS-X-Using-Automator to see how this might be done.

What is the recommended way for persisting JMS messages?. As per the IMQ admin documentation , using the default built-in persistence type which is through unix flat files is much efficient and faster, compared to the database persistence .
