I have the familiar Mavericks issue of failing to save scanned files from my Mac:
"An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."
As far as I can see, there has been no resolution to this issue, despite reassurances dating to last fall (2013).
The support website acts funky, too, sending me around in circles when I try to download the drivers; it may be a Safari-only problem, but still, please fix your software!

"Although it is not a 'fix' for the HP issue, I did find a workaround that helped me. In the Preferences Panel in MacOS X you can pull up the Printer/Scanner preferences and scan directly from OS X. I'd not known of this prior to posting here and it worked like a charm."

This error message comes up every time I try to save a scanned document to my mac 10.9 .4 . I have reset the software for my HP C5180.All in one. I have not had te problem before, just recently following some upgrades ....any suggestions how to fix this, on reading forums it seems its a common problem.. not good .

Reset the printing system. OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system.

I keep getting the error message "A I/O-error has occured in the file" (free translated from Swedish) when I try to save changes to a .ai-file in Illustrator. I have never experienced that before. If it is a specific file, one thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

If it is not just a certain file, you may have a look at the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

JPG fine in Photoshop but error in After Effects: "The file format module could not parse the file (45::36)"

I found a lot of discussion on this error in Photoshop but I'm getting it in After Effects. I have a sequence of JPG images created by photoshop (output is RGB in sRGB color space) and it appears one of them is causing problems in AE. There are several hundred images in the sequence, all created from PS, and only this one is causing problems. I've re-created it several times in PS and the error persists. I've also re-created several others and they're still fine.
I've seen other comments that the issue is with incorrect file formats and CMYK color space. I've confirmed that neither of those is my problem - the file is JPG straight out of PS in RGB. Also, there are several hundred others that are just fine using the same process and "save as" properties...

Have you stripped its metadata in Bridge? Could well be that it contains botched info from the camera. PS carries this through until the bitter end. Alternatively save it with Save for Web choosing to remove metadata.

Hello-
I have an air application that is distributed via CDROM, the app is signed by a code signing certificate and timestamped. In mid-August when my certicate expired my users started calling stating that they couldn't install our product due to the following error: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author." From my understanding a timestamped application is taken at a point in time when it's generated so why would it matter if the certificate was still valid? I have since replaced the certificate and will need to redistribute to my (thousands of) users however when I test it out using a future date and time the same error occurs. Any information to help resolve this would be grately appreciated.

Hi there,
I have created an InCopy package file from InDesign CS3 (Mac). I am able to open this package file in InCopy CS3 (Mac) without error. However, two editors working in InCopy CS4 (Windows) on different machines receive the following error message when trying to open the .incp file:
"An error has occurred opening the package file"
I have read AnneMarie's excellent cautionary tales about working in a mixed CS3 / CS4 environment, but my understanding was that simply opening the initial .incp file was unlikely to produce an error.
Can anyone suggest what might be causing the error? Should we conclude that the error stems solely from a CS3 / CS4 conflict?

Great tip about the masked filetype, I hadn't realized these packages were so easily extractable.
However, the error message you're receiving is adding a new layer of complexity. A quick search on these forums reveals this thread:

That thread suggests to me that the error may be related to Snow Leopard. We're using Mac OS 10.5.7 here at work. Could I trouble you to open the file on your Windows machine to attempt to replicate the same error we're receiving in Windows here?
And are there any known issues that could prevent a user from opening a package file?

Folio Builder: An error has occurred opening the source file for the article layout.

I have been working on a Folio. When I sat down to work on my folio, I was instructed by indesign to update my Folio producer tools, which I did.
Since then I can no longer view any article layout from that folio in indesign. Indeed any folio that I create that does not reside on my desktop give the same problem. I can import articles, add articles and they all upload to the proper place at adobe and I can view them. But I simply cannot open them up through folio builder as I previously.
The exact error message is as below:
An error has occurred opening the source file for the article layout.
The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found.
Another strange thing that seems to be happening is that the folio will randomly reoder the articles in the folio.
I have dumped my indesign prefs, tried creating an entirely new project, made a new account and even reinstalled the entire software.
But the problem of opening an article that I have imported or added to a folio, simply not being found to open has got me stumped. I can't proceed with a major project until I can sort this out.
Can anyone help.

When I use " NUM , SYSTEMIDNAME , SC_A , FC_A " column , chart is work well but add other column(ex. SC_B , FC_B) throws Exception.

Hello - if you are seeing any report problem or exceptions on UI, then (a) try without the filter. (b) Try another type of view and see if error reoccurs (c) see if your dataobject (the field on the filter) has any null or invalid data (or wrong type or format).
Also - for these type of errors - it is better to export your dataobject and report and send it to support. We have fixed these types of errors from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3- so I guess this is more with respect to your data or report design. Pl log support request using MetaLink or contact local oracle representative

I was trying to capture a simulation when a pop-up window came with this error:

Having admin rights is not the same as 'Run Captivate as administrator'. For the last, right-click on the start icon for Captivate and check 'Run as administrator'. Or click on Advanced, where you can check the option to always run as administrator.
Another possibility could be a corrupt font somewhere. I forgot to ask which version you are using (exact number).

On Windows 2003, I have installed BOXI Edge 3.1 with SAP Integration Kit. My primary and only use of the SAPIK will be for retrieving SAP data for BOXI reports. I DO NOT want to use SAP Authentication. For BOXI, I want to set up only AD Authentication, but because the web.xml files change with the installation of the SAPIK, I have not been successful at setting up AD Authentication. I have modified the web.xml files so that they look like the original web.xml files (without SAPIK).
The AD groups are imported successfully into BOXI. The members of those groups are imported successfully, too. But when a user attempts to login, they get error: An error has occurred propagating the security context between the security server and the client.
I have tried nearly everything to clear this error and there are no Kerberos errors in Wireshark logs on the BOXI server.

The problem is resolved.
I noticed in the Local Security Policy that the right "Log on as a service" displayed only the service account user ID, without the domain identifier - where I expected it to show as "DOMAIN\svcaccount", it only showed "svaccount".
I stopped the Tomcat and SIA services, I removed "svaccount" from the list in "Log on as a service", I reset the account information in the Tomcat and SIA services as "DOMAIN\svcaccount" and saw that change reflected in "Log on as a service" and now AD Authentication works beautifully.
My guess is that it must have been using the local account and not the domain account for running the services.
Next task: SSO...

Fatal Error has occured and the application is being terminated

It seems that Captivate is eating my projects. I've started my second project (after completing my first without any errors) and I'm constintly getting corrupted files. It set me back at least a few hours worth of work. So I started creating backup files every 10mins, regardless of how much work i've done. Everything was going fine, until I took an hour break and went to resume my work.
When I try to open my file I get the following pop up message when trying to open my file: "Adobe Captivate - A fatal error has occured and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folder as .cpbackup files. Please restart Adobe Captivate."
I can click on the program workspace and not click ok on the error message to keep the file open. I see my slides and objects, but all the text is missing.
I'm using Captivate 5.5 and windows 7 64. Within Captivate, I'm using standard objects with importing MP3 audio files and some Photoshop images. I have a total of 4 slides with 1 being 3.5mins long and the rest are less than 1min.
When I first started having this problem, I thought maybe the variable files were corrupte so I deleted the Users/name/appdata/local/adobe/Captivate5.5 directory to see if that was the issue. That was before this last stint of errors.
I tried opening a backup that was like 10 saves ago, but it displays the same message.
I'm not sure what to do next.

I am working on a content development using captivate 5.5. all of sudden I am not able slide view I am not able to view the text captions in slide view but i am able to see the text caption in Filmstrip. and when I am selecting another side it throwing below error and application ends.
Adobe Captivate
A fatal error has occured and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folders as ".cpbackup" files.
Please restart Adobe Captivate.

I have a deliverable by this weekend if some can help to resolve this issue will be appreciated.
Note: when first time it crashed, I re-created the course again from scratch and its crashed again. I have multiple attempt to finish this course but no luck.
Please help me out to deliver my work.
