An idea how this was done?

I was looking at a picture and was wondering if anyone might have an idea of a method that could have been used to achieve this effect. It looks like a photo (especially in the shoes area) but then it looks like a filter was applied to make it look more like an illustration. Any sort of an idea - some kind of blending mode or filter, etc - have a look..

Our team worked to make the experience straightforward, but also easy for the design team to implement on a folio by folio basis. What is nice about this search approach is that it allows you to provide a search that gives greater context than just a word in a paragraph. In Sotheby's case, this allows them to return search results that reference a specific lot within their auction catalog with a preview of the piece and other important details.
While similar, I imagine that you would want to tailor the experience to mesh well with your product.

iPhoto->:File->Export…. BTW, iPhoto and OS version would help; whereas, iOS version doesn't.

As Léonie wrote Aperture can add a watermark file to an image on export but I find its ability to do so limited.
Another option is the free plugin BorderFX . It has a lot of capabilities that are very useful when using Aperture. Even if you decide not to use it for this you should check it out.

Well I don't think it was done with screen capture but you can easily do something like that in After Effects or Flash.
But if you use Photoshop you simple make another layer for each size of the tear drop.
I would make two documents one that is large enough to make the background darker gray color so that when it is move will still over the fram of the background image.
You make that document a transparent background rather than white.
Then fill it with black or a dark gray and give it a transparency then make a selection of the teardrop shape and delete it from the fill color.
Then turn that selection into a path and stroke it.
Then make a document the size of the background image with the background image either opened or placed in it.
Then copy and paste the Gray transparent art from the other document and turn on animation in the PS window menu.
Use the time line method,
In the time line expand the dark gray layer and click the clock icon next to position and you will see a diamond shape appear at the first frame of the time line for that layer.
Now move the tear drop to the starting position then the time line frame indicator to the frame where to you want it to reach another position and then move the tear drop to that position, you will see another diamond appear where the frame indicator is, this is a key frame.
You move the frame indicator again and then move the teardrop again.
The white text is done naturally on a layer with white text and no background color and you move it he same way.
When you resize the tear drop you do it by copying the layer resize that copy you place it in the time line under the first teardrop layer but start it where you want it to first appear in the animation
At the same time you end the first presence of the first layer by resizing its duration in the time line. Now the first one disappears and the second size appears you can fade then as well.
Same with the text.
In photoshop it is more difficult than in after effects but you can get similar results. But it is still not too difficult. Animation requires a bit of patience and logical thinking and a there are mistakes to be made.

Best guess on how this was done

On this video there is a cool animation where a line moves across the screen and then a circle attached to this line pauses on the screen. There is a picture in the circle. The viewer has a chance to see the circle with the picture in it, then the line continues moving to the left until another circle/picture comes into view. Is this done by creating the entire line off stage then motion tweening it onto the stage or is it done by setting up different scenes or some other way? I'm just looking for opinions. The effect that I'm describing begins at about the 8 second mark on this youtube video. Thanks very much !

I agree IF it was done in Flash at all that would be the best way to do it but I wonder if it was done in After Effects. The blurs and the speed up and slow down of the elements seem much slicker than anything I've seen Flahs pull off, and are much easier in AE than Flash.

You may be able to do this with Grapher which is in your /Applications/Utilities folder.

Apple may have used Keynote for this which is part of the iWork suite of software. It's primarily used for creating presentations but can be integrated into a website. http://www.apple.com/iwork/tutorials/#keynote

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If you have a Mac, I know you can sync your notes with the Mail application using iTunes by going to the Info tab when you clikc on your iPhone under Devices. Other than that, you may just need to email the notes to yourself since the 3G cannot use iCloud to transfer them.

I tried the compressed air, Qtip, etc... still nothing. Called Apple again.... and we did a complete factory reset from iTunes, wiping everything out... still no sound, which proves that it is a hardward problem, under warranty, I have to have phone replaced No Apple repair centers within 300 miles of me! At some point yesterday all of my saved clips from a large project adopted the "Rejected" classification and lost the "Favorite" designation that I spent the better part of one week selecting. I have no idea how this happened, I surely did not intentionally designate all my shots as Rejects, but I'm wondering if there is any way to remove the Reject designation and recover my "Favorites"? Not that it helps, but it certainly seems there should be a warning message before FCP X does something so radical. Anyone know how can I can fix this? Thanks

Do you use Time Machine? You should be able to just go back in time on the project file, right? If you don't use Time Machine, you should. A 2 TB external USB hard drive is around $113 at Amazon.com. You just plug it in and tell Time Machine to use it and you're done.
You can Select All in the Event and then click ont he grey star next to the green star to remove the Rejected status on all clips, but that won't restore your Favorites. You need to revert your project file to a backup.

I have more than 7600 duplicates in itunes! I have no idea how this happened. How do I efficiently get rid of them without deleting one at a time?

I have 7600 duplicates on my itunes account. I have no idea how this happened and want to delete the duplicates en mass.
Is it possible? How would I do it?

I do have a backup on My Book that may not have the duplicates. Not sure I WANT TO GO NUCLEAR THOUGH AND DELETE ALL THE DUPLICATES.

If you've recently created a bunch of duplicates then, with the main Music playlist showing, hold down Option (Mac) or Shift (PC) and then the menu File > Display Exact Duplicates. Sort the resulting list on the Date Added field, select the range of tracks representing the recent imports which you know to be duplicates and delete.
To delete any older duplicates scattered through the library sort the list in a conventional order like Album by Artist and delete all but one copy of each cluster of identical tracks.
Normally when you delete the duplicate entries from the library you will also want to delete the underlying files, however in certain circumstances it is possible for iTunes to make two separate entries to the same physical file on your hard drive. In this case deleting the file for the one entry will break the other one. If possible try to work out which type of duplicates you have before deleting any files, and check that the remaining entries play before emptying the trash.
