I am wondering whether Dom's outline here(1) is really impossible:
For PoDoFoBrowser, I think it would be fine if you would have the preview side
by side with the pages content stream. And if you type some PDF code into the
content stream, like "0 0 1 rg 100 100 m 200 200 l" it should immediately
draw a blue line. But this is dreaming
I see top expert gurus such as Thom Parker have developed their own viewer/editor here(2), the PDFCanOpener. PoDoFoBrowser is also great. These guys here(3) made PDFXplorer.
So, why I couldn't find a tool like Dom's expectations. Adobe in first place should do that if technically possible. Together with Acrobat, it would exploit the creation of custom annotations.
Are there any reasons they haven't yet?

I know you certainly have more experience with the Acrobat SDK than I do; also, all those developers of PDF structure viewers/editors I mentioned earlier must have considered the possibility to make their applications LIVE as Dom's quote shows. So, ultimately you must be right.
Anyway, when you talk about the current transformation matrix, you remind me of the true purpose of such an advanced PDF structure editor I put forward, that is an INLINE editor rather than a LIVE editor where the line here is the development process carried out through the Acrobat SDK itself. For example, say you mouse-draw a straight line in the PDF preview, you should be able to see cosDictionaries and operators to be used within your code. Or, you scale a picture and can check at the same time the transformation matrix that has been used. The reverse is sometimes useful too: you change an element of a transformation matrix and watch the effect in the PDF preview; so, for example, you can rotate a Widget annotation by means of the R key but you can do it in a finer control through a transformation matrix, if I am not wrong.
I think many other examples concerning other PDF structure's parameters configurable in the Acrobat SDK, may be given.

I have OSX Maverick on an iMac using Outlook e-mail. PDF attachments are included in the e-mail as the whole document rather than just the PDF icon. How can i have just the PDF icon as an attachment?

For your own viewing, you can of course control-click on the attachment and select "View as Icon".
For others' viewing, it depends upon their email reader. To ensure that attachments are not displayed expicitly you can put them all in a zip file (via control click and "Compress") then attaching them, or you can use third party stuff like Attachment Tamer.

InDesign CS6 - Exporting Issues, PDF being sent to Photshop and saving as a psd rather than the requested pdf? Please help!

I have an issue in InDesign CS6. It has been happening the last couple of days now.
When i export to pdf. regardless of quality instead of being saved as a pdf it is being sent to Photoshop which then saves the file as a psd...
I have updated InDesign to the latest CS6 update which helped the issue yesterday but today the same problem is back. Help please what could be the problem and how do I fix it?
Any advice is very appreciated.

ExportPDF is a subscription service for exporting PDF files into Word and Excel, from Adobe Reader. I suspect you need the InDesign forum, as InDesign is the product here.

How to use Phone camera for live streaming rather than using WireCast camera in Live streaming using Azure Media Services

am planning to develop a live streaming app using C# and xaml.
I have gone through the below sample and am able to stream the live content using wireacst camera.

But i want to use Phone camera to stream the live video rather using wirecast camera.
How can i use that? How to get the published URL from the C# code, is there any API to get that?

Hello,
There are no in box components that will allow you to transmit captured video from a Windows Phone device to Azure Media Services. You will need to create you own implementation. You can do this by creating a custom Media Foundation sync that can plug into
the MediaCapture element's pipeline. You will then need to modify the captured and compressed video to align to one of the two protocols that Azure Media services can use. At this time Azure Media services can use either Smooth Streaming or RTMP for ingestion.
You will need to create your own packager (or find compatible packager code from a 3rd party) to package the MP4 encoded data into the necessary format.
Here is an example of how to create a custom Media Foundation sync (please note you must write your Media Foundation components using C++ MoCOM. We do not support Media Foundation components written in managed languages):

Preview copy on PDF files produces a raster rather than a vector

I used to open PDF files with Preview and copy stuff out of it, then paste it in Keynote (or anywhere else) and obtain vector graphics.
Since some time when I copy stuff out of a PDF file I get an image, rather than a vector graphics. This is evident when you try to rescale the image and looses quality, whereas the vector does not.
This seems to be something that has to do with Preview, since if I open the same PDF with Skim and I copy anything out of it I get a vector, that scales perfectly when I paste it in Keynote.
Any idea what is going on with Preview? (on 10.9.5)

Hi,
You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

An update from WordPerfect automatically installed Foxit on my computer without warning me. I uninstalled it and reinstalled CS5 and Acrobat 11 but when I look at a list of files in Windows Explorer, all of my PDF files are simply listed as "PDF file" rather than "Adobe Acrobat Document". I rely on the Adobe name to get my PDF listed at the top of list of files when I sort by document type for something that I need to do 4 or 5 times a day. Having it buried under "PDF" is causing lots of errors.
I've tried searching the registry but can't find anything that would make this change. I know it's related to the computer because when I use my laptop to view the same folder on the desktop, the laptop shows the files as "Adobe Acrobat Document". I just don't know where to look to fix this.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have already reinstalled both Adobe Reader and the full version of CS5 which includes Adobe Pro. Neither of those steps worked.

There is a check box in the preference (under edit). I have not had great success with this setting, but that is what it is supposed to do. Don't expect it to happen in Chrome that has it's own PDF viewer (or the preview function on a MAC). You might also check the settings for your particular browser.

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

I noticed that the "Year" information and "Release Date" information are usually wrong.
For example, the song "The Twist" by Chubby Checker has 2007 for the year and 3/5/2007 as the release date. I understand that this is the release date of the greatest hits compilation album, but not the song.

Then you rotate it and SAVE or SAVE AS and it will remain that way.
