The concept is for building an application for the iPhone that turns your device into an "Effects Pedal" for your instrument (guitar, bass etc). You can export the Effects that you create in GB to your iPhone and then insert your phone to a console that has couple of pedals to control the effects.
I'm just wondering how many people will be interested in having something like this...

The concept works like this:
1. Create your sound efffect in GB
What does that mean - "create your sound effect?" Just to understand what you're saying, does that mean you'd choose a preset in GB and tweak it? Or combine several GB effects and that would be "your effect?"
Essentially, would your device provide the user with the ability to port a GB effect out of GB and into the iPhone?
If so, how would the iPhone be able to run that? Don't mean to sound technical, I'm genuinely interested. How would the iPhone be able to run an effect that would otherwise require an AU host and sufficient horsepower? Would the effect sent to the iPhone model the one in GB as a simulation, or would it port the GB effect as is?
2. Conect your iPhone to your computer and "Export Effects to iPhone"
3. Lunch the GB Effects application on your iPhone
4. Place your iPhone into the Console and turn your console "on"
5. Navigate throughout the list of effects on your screen and select the effect you want to use
*You have some control on the effects' sound and mix through the iPhone GB Effects' interface. Just touch the iPhone's screen and the Effect Control Panel shows up with the "Level Sliders" that can control Gain, Rate, Depth etc... some basic adjustments.
Sounds cool if it'd work.
*I don't think there might be a need to protect your iPhone from accidentally stomp on it. musicians take care of their gear and wether stone or not they seem to be very precise on when and how to enable their effects. However the console it is tough built with a nice considerable weight so it doesn't move around while interact with pedals.
This is just one person's opinion, but that's what you're doing here, asking for people's opinions, so here's mine: When a musician is playing and maybe singing too, they shouldn't have to be thinking about not stomping on their phone. In your picture, the phone is positioned to replicate a pedal, and would likely be stomped on, even by a careful musician. Given that all the iPhone is doing is driving the console, I'd think you'd want to protect it rather than invite the business end of someone's foot. Again, this is just one person's opinion but I imagine other people would also look at this and say "why is it asking me to step on my phone?!"
However, what I'm really wondering is whether the device would run the actual effects in GB or a simulation, and if it would be the actual effects, how is it able to do that?

How secure are Apps that store your personal Information?
I have a few Apps for storing ID and Credit card info - but I am very hesitant to use them - How do I know that once I have used them, the creator of the app cant access my supposedly "secured" info?
Any app--regardless of the "who"--can be hacked, and info stolen, if someone wants it bad enough. Not all apps store info in your unit; the info may be safely stored in a encrypted server somewhere far away.
My recommendation is that you not store your CC info and any personal information you don't want spread around. Turn off certain program functions for example, go into settings and scroll down and see what programs are listed there. You can turn off certain info that they gather there. Other programs, you may need to open the app and adjust settings there.
If there is an "purchase in the app" function...that becomes your call. Generally, though...the less info you keep in an app, the better.

I have an iphone that is locked to orange and have been waiting over 50 days now for it to be unlocked and keep getting fobbed off with promises to sort it out. I dont know how many calls have been made and am getting really frustrated now. They locked it originally and it is their gift to unlock ....usually in their own time.

My band when recording used many of the garageband effects over our live instruments. When we play live shows we dont want to have one person at a computer changing our effects manually where something could go wrong. Is there anyway to export those midi files so we could put them in some type of hardware like the digitech guitar workstation for example so we (the instrument player) can do it ourselves?

And if you did not purchase the iPhone from an Apple Store, you will have to go back to the dealer from whom you purchased the iPhone and ask them if you can exchange the iPhone. The Apple Store would not accept a return of a product not purchased from them.

Why is Apple putting music on my iPhone that I did not ask for and do not want ?
I have a Mac Pro and an iPod Classic that I use for my music.
I noticed today that some of my purchased music was on my iPhone iTunes app. I did not ask for these to be installed.
Also, I noticed that when I tap on a song, sometimes it plays, sometimes nothing happens.Do you mean this

These are thousands of songs that I purchased using my Mac Pro. I sync my iPod Classic with a USB cable to move the songs to the iPod.
Now, my purchased songs (not the ones imported into my Mac Pro using a CD), are in my iPhone. I do not use the cloud. I have been very careful not to sign up for anything related to the cloud.
I'm trying to figure out why Apple is forcing this on me. -
So my iPhone that was stolen is disabled for 22,237,796 minutes and counting down. My computer with all my backup information is down so I can't restore it without losing everything on it. I really don't want to lose everything on my phone and I really don't want to wait that long. Is there anything I can do? Please help! ;(
The only options are:
Wait it out.
Sync the device to the computer it normally syncs with to remove the passcode.
Restore from backup or as new.
Without access to the computer it normally syncs with, your only real option is restore as new.
Keep in mind, pictures can be copied off the device on any computer regardless of the device being locked or not. -

Typing style effect for Flash 8 mac
I have flash 8 on a g5 mac.
I'm looking for something that will give me a typing or
old-style computer terminal effect for text on a page I'm building.
I'd rather not to all of it by hand with masks if I can avoid it.
I payed for and downloaded Red Giants "Text FX" program,
which does do this. But then I found out it doesn't support Flash 8
on the mac... Bummer.
Anyone know of another good add-on for Flash 8 on the mac

I installed QuickTime for Windows yesterday, and aside of the fact that I don't like that it automatically also installed this iTunes-thing and for some reason also made MSN active (which I did not request either in any way), it is roundabout annoying that it made itself standard for playing music files and video files despite that I checked "no" when it asked whether I would like to make it standard.
Seeing as I download a lot of music I need to get rid of that because it takes up an awful lot of time (in the past Windows Media Player did the downloading, but now QT opens in the IE window and considerably slows down browsing even if I use multiple windows.)
So, my question is, how and where should I go on my computer to return Windows Media Player to standard for playing musics files?Where is the control panel? The only "advanced" panel I could find was by clicking "preferences -> Quicktime-Preferences" and it doesn't have anything called MIME-settings.
Also, I don't want to right-click files, I already am doing that to get around QT and that is still taking much time. I want it to open in Windows Media Player like it used to do, if it was possible before it should be possible again. -

It is safe to download if your phone is not jailbroken. Before you download it, however, take some precautions:
Reboot your computer
Disable your antivirus and firewall
Connect the phone cable to a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub
Before updating right click on the name of the phone in iTunes and choose "Backup"
When you are given the choice choose "Download only", not "Download and Update"
After the download completes successfully click the Update button to install it.
Most of these steps are just being overly cautious, as most people ignore them and have no problems. But occasionally the extra steps save grief. -
i cannot sync my iphone music, i had used my i phone on another pc, which died. Ive managed to save the hard drive and transfer stuff across. I ended up smashing my phone and could update all other stuff on restore but cant sync any music. It is all grey at the top of the screen. Ive re installed itunes and cleared all phone data. Now when i bought a song on this computer from the apple store, i have just been sent an email that says Your Apple ID, was just used to purchase (a song ) by a computer that had not been previously associated with that apple id. So do i have to tell apple now somehow i am using itunes on this pc, and if so how? Because i authorised it and it said this pc was one of 5 aujthorised. if anyone can be of assistance then great!
I'm having a similar problem. I had previously (over a year ago) purchased 2 episodes of Law & Order. Then about 2 months ago, I purchased the 3rd season of Sons of Anarchy. When I downloaded these episodes to my iPad, about a dozen full seasons of various shows popped up, too. No money was removed from my iTunes account & theses particular shows aren't in my iTunes library on my desktop. I've tried every which way to delete them from my ipad, but can't. I went to the Apple store & they suggested I contact expresslane.apple.com for help. I submitted my problem, via email Friday, as they asked, but have not received any response. Any suggestions on how to get rid of these "phantoms?".

It sounds like you are trying to change the Apple ID logged into the iTunes & App Stores on your iPhone. Use these steps:
Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
