An iPod case to go over a silicon case

Hi all,
Please don't think I'm being over protective of my Nano, but I have it in a silicon case and I would like to keep it in a carry case as well without removing the silicon case. Something like a small leather pouch. Does anybody know if there is this kind of case available designed for a Nano? I have looked around on the web and couldn't find anything like it. I am considering cutting up an old suede jacket and whipping one up on my wife's sewing machine. Any input is most welcome.

mabey this one? http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/7200805/wo/pE1Tr cPGTI9R3Uj47Ziw7HOa39C/1.0.19.1.0.8.25.7.11.0.3

  • Puting Ipod in iHome when in Silicone case.

    I have an iHome iPod alarm clock and I also have my iPod in a Zcover Silicone Case. When my iPod is in the case it will not dock into the iHome because the connector in the iHome is not tall enough. I need a small adapter that will allow me to connect it into the iHome while in the case. I can use the normal USB docking cable when the case is on, and the iPod fits into the iHome when the case is on, but the dock connector does'nt fully go into the ipod.
    Anyone know of an adapter that would help?

    Have you tried the InvisibleShield?
    It will protect against scratches when you need to take it out of the case. I have for mine and I will swear by it.

  • Which silicone case will fit new ipod 160gb?

    which silicone case is currently available and will fit new ipod classic160GB?  Is the size compatible with any previous ipod model?

    It has a dock connector so it should play music fine. But the new iPods only charge on 5 volts (the older ones could charge on 5 or 12). If your speakers charge with 12 volts they will not charge the new iPods.
    A lot of devices charge at 12 volts (even Apples own Hi-Fi) but most companies seem to be keeping this secret, if you are lucky there will be an FAQ on the company website that will tell you if it's compatible with the iPhone G3 (the first 5v only device).

  • What Is The Best Silicone Case For Ipod Touch 3g ?

    Hey i got an ipod touch 3g but dont know which silicone case
    is the best out there please help

    I have a couple of the Belkin laser etched case. Ebay item 350324653882, Amazon item F8Z404-PRL. They feel great in your hand, very soft. I also love my case-mate Barely There cases. They are hard however.

  • Silicone case for new iPod ---

    Ok, so I had an old 160gb iPod from 2007 and had a silicone protector for it (which I loved!).
    I just purcahsed a new 160GB iPod and it is thinner, so my other protector doesn't work.. I have been looking at Ebay, but I want to make sure I order the right protector.
    I am seeing some protectors that are supposedly "compadible with 160gb, 120gb, and 80gb."
    Now I THOUGHT the thinner models were just the newest 120gb and 160gb.. So I am totally confused now.
    The sellers are not very clear in their decriptions, some say they are compatible with 160 and 80 and others say 160 and 120, and some say all three.
    Help!

    This answer is of no help to you at all.
    If sellers are unable to answer reasonable product question on ebay I would not want to deal with them even if they are cheaper. I would go to a store and pay the extra to get what I wanted.
    Easy for me to say, maybe not easy for you to do.

  • Where can I purchase a rubber/silicone case for my MacBook air?

    I am searching for a silicone (soft) case for my MacBook Air.  Does anyone know where I may purchase one?  I'm not referring to the rubberized hard shell cases found via Amazon and/or eBay.  I want one that is similar to the silicone cases you put on an iPod or iPad.

    Haven't seen one of those, but I did find a thin, padded neoprene case by NuCase at the Apple store...check the on-line store and see what they have.

  • Charging with silicone case?

    Is it really a problem if charging the ipod mini in the silicone case? There's a slot for it at the bottom to plug in the cord, but looking at the ipod site, it says not to charge when it is in a cover or case. It is just a hassle to take off the silicone case, so whats wrong with charging with the case?

    sometimes the iPod can heat up while charging and leaving it in a case increases the risk of higher internal temperatures...just a precaution.

  • Which silicone case to buy for Nano???

    Hi,
    I just received a brand new iPod Nano from Apple. I had one earlier but got it replaced because of faulty display. I am still keeping this one in wrappings because the first one scratched insanely easy...
    So this time I will buy a case. Which one should I buy? Does the Ipod Nano tubes sold in applestore protect the display as well? If you know a good silicone cover that protects the display as well, please let me know.

    I use the ezskin by ezgear, it is a silicone case with a hard screen protector. It works great. It has a belt clip(like the ones on cell phones) it is removable. It also comes with two lanyards, one that is for the wrist and one for the neck. I really use my Nano. It is not a show piece, but a thing that I really enjoy listening to music on. I put it from day one in the case. I have never taken it out of the case and could not tell you if the body is scratched. I did scratch the heck of the hard screen protector, I am waiting for displex, but for now am using a pda protector. It is working fine. As I said I really use it, at least hard enough to scratch the heck out of the hard screen protector. I only took that off, because I wanted to try the pda protector. I could always read my play lists and even see my photos. So I really recomend this case. But I have heard great things about the duo. Just put it in the case and ignore all the scratch mongers. When you use it for what it is intended and just give it the care of a case it is an awesome tool to be used and enjoyed. Hope this helps. P.s. my wife has the same case in black for her black Nano. She is much easier on hers and her screen protector looks like new and she loves it.

  • Need a silicone case with screen protector for Zen Mi

    Anyone seen a silicone case like the ones on ebay for the zen micro, but one that has a screen protector like the iSkins do? I need a case, the vaja are way too expensi've and I don't want anything bulky like the leather cases I've seen.

    One more option: I have read and seen all of the case posts and had decided on the pdaen leather belt pouch, because it has a flip over snapable face protection with total accessability otherwise. Then I was working outside one day and it was raining slightly so I started using small plastic bags--ziplock and another which is like the bag at the grocery store that you put your produce in. I make a tiny incision for the jack and either tie or zip the open end. This works so well that I am no longer looking for a bag of any kind. It keeps out the dirt and more importantly, moisture, and it gives me exactly the same access as I had before I wrapped it-- touchpad and all. Not at all stylish, I know, just practical and functional.

  • Rubber / silicone case

    What is the best rubber or silicone case for the new nano?
    Not sure which companies have updated their lines yet.
    thanks

    I had a case for my 5th gen ipod I got off ebay and LOVED it
    It was basically hard plastic covering everything except screen and wheel (got protection for the screen) and it just felt real firm and safe.
    Any cases like that for the nano?

  • Silicone cases on Ebay: Any experiences?

    Hi there,
    I always keep seeing tons of different 5G cases (mostly from HK sellers) on Ebay. Has anyone already bought and received one of those?
    If yes, could you please post a review, maybe a picture? Thank You!
    I'm wondering if those are an acceptable alternative to the iskin and zcover cases, since those would cost me around
    US$ 50 including shipping
    Cheers from Germany,
    Mara

    I use a silicon case all the time, together with a screen protector film. I have had no problems with dust or scratching. One bonus is that it stops the iPhone sliding around, or falling out of my shirt pocket when stooping. There are some very thin silicon cases, that I use, on Amazon. I wish they would produce one without the headphone hole though, it would then be better at preventing moisture entering. It's so easy to peal back the silicon on the odd occasion when I want to use headphones. Ditto for the multiconnector socket.
    The Revo2 has both a headphone jack and docking port cover. In addition, you can buy separate covers for each on ebay for like 3 bucks. • Speck Silicone cases FirstLook review on RainyDayMagazine

    We got a bunch of the Speck Product silicone cases and have posted the FirstLook review on tomorrow's issue of RainyDayMagazine.

    We'll be doing a drop test video for the FirstUse review. No...we are not going to run one over with an SUV like we did with the iKeychain

    Yeah... it was late and we were running out of steam. Got any questions for us on the Speck cases? We'll try to answer them.
    We also posted one on the EDGE multi-dock.

    I have done absalutely nothing to my 4g apple ipod touch, and it over heats, won't hold a charge, and the front camera will not work. I bought this brand new in december, and i've barely used it. I've tried restarting it and everything, I honestly think this is out raging because i spend over $200 on this. To have for music and instagram. I use it about an hour a day, but i've only been using it for about 3 months although i've had it since December. Any suggestions that may help me?

    Try:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
    If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • OCR and voting disks on ASM, problems in case of fail-over instances

    Hi everybody
    in case at your site you :
    - have an 11.2 fail-over cluster using Grid Infrastructure (CRS, OCR, voting disks),
    where you have yourself created additional CRS resources to handle single-node db instances,
    their listener, their disks and so on (which are started only on one node at a time,
    can fail from that node and restart to another);
    - have put OCR and voting disks into an ASM diskgroup (as strongly suggested by Oracle);
    then you might have problems (as we had) because you might:
    - reach max number of diskgroups handled by an ASM instance (63 only, above which you get ORA-15068);
    - experiment delays (especially in case of multipath), find fake CRS resources, etc.
    whenever you dismount disks from one node and mount to another;
    So (if both conditions are true) you might be interested in this story,
    then please keep reading on for the boring details.
    One step backward (I'll try to keep it simple).
    Oracle Grid Infrastructure is mainly used by RAC db instances,
    which means that any db you create usually has one instance started on each node,
    and all instances access read / write the same disks from each node.
    So, ASM instance on each node will mount diskgroups in Shared Mode,
    because the same diskgroups are mounted also by other ASM instances on the other nodes.
    ASM instances have a spfile parameter CLUSTER_DATABASE=true (and this parameter implies
    that every diskgroup is mounted in Shared Mode, among other things).
    In this context, it is quite obvious that Oracle strongly recommends to put OCR and voting disks
    inside ASM: this (usually called CRS_DATA) will become diskgroup number 1
    and ASM instances will mount it before CRS starts.
    Then, additional diskgroup will be added by users, for DATA, REDO, FRA etc of each RAC db,
    and will be mounted later when a RAC db instance starts on the specific node.
    In case of fail-over cluster, where instances are not RAC type and there is
    only one instance running (on one of the nodes) at any time for each db, it is different.
    All diskgroups of db instances don't need to be mounted in Shared Mode,
    because they are used by one instance only at a time
    (on the contrary, they should be mounted in Exclusive Mode).
    Yet, if you follow Oracle advice and put OCR and voting inside ASM, then:
    - at installation OUI will start ASM instance on each node with CLUSTER_DATABASE=true;
    - the first diskgroup, which contains OCR and votings, will be mounted Shared Mode;
    - all other diskgroups, used by each db instance, will be mounted Shared Mode, too,
    even if you'll take care that they'll be mounted by one ASM instance at a time.
    At our site, for our three-nodes cluster, this fact has two consequences.
    One conseguence is that we hit ORA-15068 limit (max 63 diskgroups) earlier than expected:
    - none ot the instances on this cluster are Production (only Test, Dev, etc);
    - we planned to have usually 10 instances on each node, each of them with 3 diskgroups (DATA, REDO, FRA),
    so 30 diskgroups each node, for a total of 90 diskgroups (30 instances) on the cluster;
    - in case one node failed, surviving two should get resources of the failing node,
    in the worst case: one node with 60 diskgroups (20 instances), the other one with 30 diskgroups (10 instances)
    - in case two nodes failed, the only node survived should not be able to mount additional diskgroups
    (because of limit of max 63 diskgroup mounted by an ASM instance), so all other would remain unmounted
    and their db instances stopped (they are not Production instances);
    But it didn't worked, since ASM has parameter CLUSTER_DATABASE=true, so you cannot mount 90 diskgroups,
    you can mount 62 globally (once a diskgroup is mounted on one node, it is given a number between 2 and 63,
    and other diskgroups mounted on other nodes cannot reuse that number).
    So as a matter of fact we can mount only 21 diskgroups (about 7 instances) on each node.
    The second conseguence is that, every time our CRS handmade scripts dismount diskgroups
    from one node and mount it to another, there are delays in the range of seconds (especially with multipath).
    Also we found inside CRS log that, whenever we mounted diskgroups (on one node only), then
    behind the scenes were created on the fly additional fake resources
    of type ora*.dg, maybe to accomodate the fact that on other nodes those diskgroups were left unmounted
    (once again, instances are single-node here, and not RAC type).
    That's all.
    Did anyone go into similar problems?
    We opened a SR to Oracle asking about what options do we have here, and we are disappointed by their answer.
    Regards
    Oscar

    Hi Klaas-Jan
    - best practises require that also online redolog files are in a separate diskgroup, in case of ASM logical corruption (we are a little bit paranoid): in case DATA dg gets corrupted, you can restore Full backup plus Archived RedoLog plus Online Redolog (otherwise you will stop at the latest Archived).
    So we have 3 diskgroups for each db instance: DATA, REDO, FRA.
    - in case of fail-over cluster (active-passive), Oracle provide some templates of CRS scripts (in $CRS_HOME/crs/crs/public) that you edit and change at your will, also you might create additionale scripts in case of additional resources you might need (Oracle Agents, backups agent, file systems, monitoring tools, etc)
    About our problem, the only solution is to move OCR and voting disks from ASM and change pfile af all ASM instance (parameter CLUSTER_DATABASE from true to false ).
    Oracle aswers were a litlle bit odd:
    - first they told us to use Grid Standalone (without CRS, OCR, voting at all), but we told them that we needed a Fail-over solution
    - then they told us to use RAC Single Node, which actually has some better features, in csae of planned fail-over it might be able to migreate
    client sessions without causing a reconnect (for SELECTs only, not in case of a running transaction), but we already have a few fail-over cluster, we cannot change them all
    So we plan to move OCR and voting disks into block devices (we think that the other solution, which needs a Shared File System, will take longer).
    Thanks Marko for pointing us to OCFS2 pros / cons.
    We asked Oracle a confirmation that it supported, they said yes but it is discouraged (and also, doesn't work with OUI nor ASMCA).
    Anyway that's the simplest approach, this is a non-Prod cluster, we'll start here and if everthing is fine, after a while we'll do it also on Prod ones.

    Unfortunely, all movies and songs purchased in iTunes will be lost...you'll have to purchase them again! Any applications you've purchased, you can download again for free.
    Music Rescue is a program you can use to transfer any and all data (music, movies, pictures..) from your iPod to your computer, and iTunes.
