Im trying to edit my football highlight film on iMovie, and I need to know how to get the film off of a DVD disc onto iMovie. How do I do this? Or is there another program I should buy?

You can do this using a free app called MPEG Streamclip, along with a $20 quicktime component from Apple.

BenB it creates a disc image only and it's not in .m2v. I think it saved it as an Apple Pro Res 422 format instead. The disc image file format will not allow
Toast 11 to create menus etc. Thanks for your help.

You sync music the same way as on the Classic. What you sync to an iPod does not effect the iTunes library on your computer.

When running a slideshow from an album it will not run properly if the photos are sorted manually. Sort them by any of the other options, title, date, rating, etc. and it will play correctly.
Send a report of the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
If you must sort them manually create the slideshow in the slideshow mode in iPhoto, not from an album.

I Have researched this and most advice is to empty the iPhoto trash. I have already done this and it did not help.

Can't burn to DVD from iMovie (4.0) using iDVD. Can I use another program?

Suddenly, after making several DVDs with this computer using its old version of iMovie without trouble, I can't burn my latest creation...I'm getting a message saying that "You cannot use this version of the application iDVD with this version of Mac OS X."
I cannot update to the newest OS X Snow Leopard, because I've tried and my computer is not intel-based.
So, has my iDVD application has been updated to suddenly be incompatible?? How has it worked before?
(I've tried to upgrade my iMovie application to the current iMovie '11, but my computer is not intel-based.)
Is there another solution to my problem? Is there another application that I can use to burn from iMovie to a DVD besides using iDVD? (Remember, I have an old computer.) :o)

Dvd-disc stuck. How do I get it out?

I put in an dvd that the dvd player can´t read. But now I don´t even get it out. The "eject dick" command is not feasible in the toolbar and ommand-E dosn´t work either.
Is there another way?

Hold down the Option key at Startup. The screen redraws with an Icon for each bootable Volume, and the Eject key is "live" once all the icons are drawn. This tends to work a little better because software can't "Grab" the contents of the drive and lock it up.
If it is still stuck, make an appointment at the Genius Bar. Those guys solve this problem for users all day, every day, and they have disc extraction down to a science. If they do not have to remove the drive, there is generally no charge, in warranty or out.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.

Are you able to do the reset I described while the device is connected to the charger? If so, does it start? What happens then after you remove it from the charger, does the device power off? If so, then you need to make an appointment with the Genius Bar or your Authorized Apple Service Provider and have the hardware checked. It sounds as if the battery is failing.
