An other great website!

Just found a great new site talking exclusively about Ap.
www.aperture.fr
I guess we have to learn french or use, as Matthew London wrote in an oher thread (thank you) Google translate. I just tried it and the result is quite amazing! Try by yourself:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aperture.fr&langpair=fr %7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8

I am the person making Aperture.fr. Thanks for mentioning my site.
aperture.fr
Actually it is going to be annonced "officially" first sometimes next week.
I will use some time writing more stuff in french before thinking about an english version - and anyway you have bagelturf.com in english, the best aperture ressource on the web (for those who understand english)!
I tried to translate one of my pages with google translate and was very surprised to see how good it works!
Hope to see some of you on my forum which I think will be french/english. If you are lucky, you could be the first member...
best Aperture regards,
Francois

  • TREX Search : static HTML pages in KM with links to other intranet websites

    Hi there,
we have some static HTML pages stored in KM. Besides text, these pages contain links ot other intranet websites, pdf or word documents.
I have defined an index, according to <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/73/66c090acf611d5993700508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">creating an index</a>
Following parameters have been added :
    IndexInternalLinks = true
    indexContentOfExternalLink = true
    showWithoutDatasource = true
Already had a look at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/46/5d5040b48a6913e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Crawlers and Crawler Parameters</a>, tried by creating a new crawler profile and setting
Maximum Depth = 3 (we want to search three levels deep)
    There is also <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/46/5d5040b48a6913e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Resource Filters</a>
The html pages itself are included in the index, but the content of the external links is not included.
Would this be possible? We don't want to define an <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/73/66c090acf611d5993700508b6b8b11/frameset.htm">HTTP System</a> in the system landscape, as we don't need to index the whole external website and some parts of it are obsolete - we only want following the links and included the external content in the index.
    Portal version is NW2004S SP10.
    Thanks & best regards,
    Kevin

    Hello Kevin,
If you don't want to create a HTTP system then you can create a simple web repository.
For details you can follow help guide:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a4/76bd3b57743b09e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Also you can create a Web Repository:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/12/47833ceb3da02ce10000000a114027/frameset.htm
Do refer to "Dynamic and Static Web Repositories" section in the document. This will answer your query.

  • Double clicking or clicking anywhere in Safari opens new tab with Mackeeper and other unknown websites.

The solution provided in the other discussions are not working for me. The 'vsearch' solution given in other discussions doesnt work.
I dont know what I have downloaded but now whenever I type anything in safari or click or double click then a new tab opens with mackeeper link and other unknown websites.
    Thanks in Advance.

You may have some other adware besides Downlite (aka VSearch). In addition, you may have a newer variant of Downlite, which is using a variety of new names after having the last two variants blocked by the anti-malware feature built into Mac OS X.
Your profile indicates you are running Mac OS X 10.6.7, in which case you will not be able to use dominic23's suggestion (AdwareMedic requires 10.7 or later). Apple's support document on removing adware may help, but you'll find a more complete list of adware in my Adware Removal Guide.
You may also have a variant of Downlite that is not described in any of these documents and that is not yet recognized by AdwareMedic. I believe that there is a new variant that uses a variety of different names based on unknown criteria, either defined by different installers or determined at install time by some characteristic of the machine that it is installed on. Look in the following folders:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
If you find a file named "com.xxx.agent.plist" (where the "xxx" part can be anything) in the first folder and files named "com.xxx.daemon.plist" and "com.xxx.helper.plist" in the second, please report back here for further advice.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

  • TS1398 My safari will not open the msn website but it will open all of the other msn websites like "entertainment"' , "sports" , "auto's", etc.

My safari will not open the msn.com site but it will open the other msn websites like "entertainment" and " sports".  What to do?

There have been a few users talking about this for the past few days. I have no problems at all with it using Safari or iCab Mobile. This sequence has worked for most of the user that have tried it however, YMMV.
    Try this.
Quit the Safari app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
And do this as well. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Clearing history is not a necessity, but clear cookies and data.

  • Firefox does not trust a particular secure website that I know is secure but it does trust other secure websites

Firefox does not trust a specific secure website that I know is secure, but it does trust other secure websites. Also, Internet Explorer trusts this website and Firefox on another computer trusts this same website. When I try to connect Firefox tells me that it does not have a valid certificate (even though I know one exists) and that I would have to make an exception to connect. Is there some way I can correct this and get the proper certificate into this particular Firefox program?

Can you post a link to that website?
It is possible that the server doesn't send a required intermediate certificate.
Firefox stores intermediate certificates that servers send for future use, so if you have visited a website that has send such a certificate then you won't see an error if you visit a server that doesn't send that intermediate certificate.
You can inspect the certificate chain via a site like this:
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.

  • Take your complaints to Twitter and other public websites

I've read tons of complaints recently on this board, and very few responses from Comcast. I suggest you take all your compaints to @Comcast on Twitter and other public websites, otherwise, the only readers may be us. I'm beggining to feel like this message board is a way to keep their disgruntled consumers contained. Also, if your issues go unresolved, drop a line to your State commerce/consumer protection agencies. Comcast share prices are near all-time highs, so I am sure they can afford to listen to us.

Same thing here. Only I was charged $227.64 despite a typical $135 bill. I was charged for a movie I never rented. Called and was told due to outages, there was nothing they could do about the weather and the movie would not have been charged had I not seen the movie. Horrible experience. After sever storm outages here in Texas, it seems there is no help, even after calling customer service.

  • Are there any other great  forums?

Forums on java.sun are the best on the net in my opinion. U people are great. Could anybody pls tell me if there is a place like this where I could post my C/Assembly/System programming questions?

    Well, I'm not that silly.
Googling gives too many C programming forum links, but mostly they like
    http://cszero.sc.maricopa.edu/forums/cis162/ - 70% of questions never answered - up to 10 postings a day.
    I'm looking for a better stuff... :)

  • Other Country Websites Wont Load...

I cannot for the life of me get this website to load when I am connected to my Airport Extreme (5th gen) WiFi
    http://chameleon.alessandroboschini.it
    I have tried everything from;
    1. Reset Airport to factory defaults
    2. Clear DNS Cache on Mac
    3. Try Google Public DNS both IPv4 and IPv6
    4. Tried Hardwiring
    5. Tried every setting adjustment in Airport Extreme
    6. Tried from a PC
    7. Updatng to the lastest Airport Utility and Airport Extreme firmware
It will work on LTE from my iPhone via tethering.
    Someone help... please.

OK, thanks for checking.  This tells you that the problem is not on your side of the modem.
It's possible that the ISP has a block on, but usually you will not be able to get email or other services as well when this occurs.
My guess is that web site is blocking your "modem". Contact the web admin folks to tell them what the problem is and wait for their suggestions.
Comcast will likely try to blame the web site, so if the web site says that they are not blocking you, things may get interesting. Been there.
Let us know how things work out if you can.

  • Certain (banking) websites are not allowing me to log in, other banking websites aren't saving password etc info. IE lets me log in.

since I upgraded to the latest version of FF about a week ago, some of my banking websites are giving errors when I try to log in. I can log into them fine using IE. Also the one banking website that does allow me to log in with FF, is challenging me with my security question each time -- even when I tell it to register my computer. Before the upgrade it did not do this.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    * "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
    * Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.

  • Other language website open

    Hi ALL,
How can I direct visitors of my website to a translation of it.
When you visit my website (English has to be checked) than you see 2 little flags on the first page (HOME).
    http://web.me.com/topas2/Site/HOME.html
I like to have it working when you select a flag that a translation page will open.
I'm NOT attending to translate the whole website (English is International) just a short description of it.
Any idea how to do this?
    Thanks ...
    Dimaxum

You need to create a new site in iWeb with the translation that you want. So name the site something different and create the page translation and then make the flags into hyperlinks so that you create an external link, so to the published site rather than internal pages.
You need to do this with both translations, so create two new sites for however many translations you want and make both flags into hyperlinks.
You could also do it by linking internally to pages within your site, but this might become too confusing if you have more than one translation, so it is perhaps easier to create to separate sites and make the flags into hyperlinks.

  • Use VLC for YouTube and other Flash Player videos. Flash has become very slow and VLC Web Player works perfectly for other video websites.

I'd like to use VLC Web Player for viewing YouTube videos rather than use Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is very slow on my other computers and when websites use my VLC Web Player, I have no issues whatsoever. I'm curious if this can be done with Firefox, as I researched it only to find an add-on for Google Chrome only.

You may be able to disable Flash entirely and just use HTML 5 video codecs to view the videos this is faster but you may lose access to some videos such as ones that have mandatory advertisements.
