Hi Gurus:
When I try to change te property of a characteristic in BEx, I end up getting "An unexpected u2018invalid property array indexu2019 error in wdbrlog", This follows with the
Run-time Error u20182147221499 (80040005) - Fatal terminating Error;
Subsequently it throws me out of Bex with - Run-time error u2018429'
Has anyone experienced this and how can I correct this? We are in BW 3.5

SAP GUI Final Release Patch 24
In my query definition, I right-click on one of the characteristics..Eg. Posting Date --> Properties --> Change 'Suppress Results Rows' option from "Never" to "Always". --> Press OK.
Then I get this pop-up with error message:

1 error(s) are logged.</u>
If I say continue, it kicks me out of BeX. I need to re-login to do the stuff.
I find some information, but i dont know what happens.
Did anyone get the similar error?

I was having the same problem using ADE 4.0.2 and Mac 10.10.1. I finally gave up and deleted ADE version 4 and reinstalled version 3.0. Works fine, and I can check out ebooks for my Nook using ADE.

Causes for the "Expected an array object" error

I'm using Acrobat Pro X and am getting the "Expected an array object" error recently when inserting a PDF that was created by inserting a smaller collection of other PDF documents, if that makes sense.
Oddly, or maybe not, I can build the second level PDF by inserting all of the individual PDFs one at a time. The error only occurs when I try to "build up" the larger document.
My searches come up empty as far as revealing what causes this error.
Anyone know what causes it?

How are you creating the pdf. Your comment about putting a publication together gives us nothing to go on.

Why does DB_PLImpotExportProperties throw "Unknown variable or property name. (Error = -17306)"?

When I run GenericImportExport.seq, the call to DB_PLImpotExportProperties brings up the Import/Export dialog. When I copy that step into my existing sequence, the error "Unknown variable or property name. (Error = -17306)" is thrown. I can see no difference between the two. They also appear to be running in the same environment.
Any suggestions?

So this was bothering me enough that I went back and recreated the problem. I cannot even call the entire sequence without getting this error.
I added a step to my test sequence that makes a call to the sequence GenericImportExport.seq in a separate file (where it was installed). Right-clicking on the the step and selecting "Run Selected Steps" causes the subject error.
I CAN use the tool menu "Import/Export properties..." or open the sequence itself and run ImportExport without a problem.

Bazaar 'specified property not found' error that I cannot get around - LV 6i

Hiya folks,
I'm unfortunately stuck with making enhancements to a dinosaur application in LV 6i and am running into a strange issue I can't wrap my head around.
I have a VI that takes as input a single reference to an array of strict-type clusters. I would like to access the control references of each control in each element of that array. Using the standard (or what I believe to be the standard) VI server approach to breaking this down, I am able to get down to a single element of the array, cast it to a strict-type cluster reference, finally exposing an array of control references via a property node (see the attached image). This is all fine and dandy until I attempt to access that array of control references. So, referring to the image, the upper thread yields no error in "error out", however the scenario in the lower thread does.
If I attempt to access ANY other property in that final property node that has nothing to do with references, then everything works great.
Anybody have any ideas? Suggestions? Is the fact that these clusters are strict type def that's preventing me from moving forward (the only scenario I have not tested as of yet)?

My Nugget on Exploiting Control references should be useful. The attached VIs will too new for you to use but I beilve I posted screen shots of everything. The one limitaion that I can warn you about that will prevent you from duplicating those techniques in LV 6i is how I handled Clusters of arrays, of clusters or arrays.... etc. LV 8 or there-abouts added the ability to do complex recursive calls (A cals B that calls A...) But you shouldbe able to code around that detail or ignore it completely if your data structure will never be that complex. Here is a preview of what you will find in that Nugget.

Property change listener error with jtabbedpane

Greetings
I have a property change listener on my jtabbedpane (2 panes (index 0 of course and index 1). my problem is when i want to run my app it gives me a java null pointer exception. I believe it is b/c it is starting the app and it see the property change of the first tab at index 0 which is the first tab it sees and tries to run the method that makes the buttons visibility to true. but the buttons are already true. Basically how can I get the property change to run only after the app is visible? I made the buttons visibility false on startup to see if it can run the app but I still got the same error. I hope I am clear enough, if I am not please and I will attempt to reiterate the situation better. thanks for anyones help.

Basically how can I get the property change to run only after the app is visible?Add the PropertyChangeListener to the tabbed pane after the JFrame is visible.

So what exactly happens when you try to start XML Forms builder, do you get an actual error or does it just not start at all?

Property not settable error - it is a bug for transient attributes

In WLI 8.1 I get the following error in Workshop on a Client Request method:
"Property <name of transient attribute> of type <Java object type> is not
settable and cannot be unmarshalled from XML."
In my opinion it is an error, because it tries to serialize and deserialize
a TRANSIENT attribute via XML, which should
NOT be serialized at all (that's why it is transient).

I honestly dont know anything about this "Repair Permissions" from the name, i though it is a verification of authentication to repair OS or some kind of credential issue, and since i m admin user then there is no point to verify it, i should be allowed to do so. Again it is my first time to do this thing in 3 - 4 years of using panther, every time i update software i never ever do this! If this step is essential for every update and installation why dont apple put them as one of TODO step during the processes (as licensing agreement) instead of keep them as an option (just my thought) Anyway, I m glad u tell me about it, and i will give it a shot tonight.

Tab Control Property Node unknown error on TPC

I am using Lab View 8.6. I am programming an HMI onto a TPC 2106. I am using a Tab Control and it workls fine. The problem is when I add a property node for the tab control to the block diagram. I get an unknown error no matter which property I choose or if it is read or write. I tried it on a vi destined for the computer and it works fine. It seems to be an issue with the TPC 2106 as the destination.

When compiling a VI for a TPC, there are many properties of controls and indicators that will not be supported. Which properties specifically have you tried? I want to be sure you are choosing a property that should be OK. For example, try the Visible property. Also, is there anything else going on in your code, or can you reproduce this with a VI that has nothing but a tab control?

Pseudo empty 2-d array - NPSV error 42

I am posting this more as a warning than a question.
My application has a Network Published Shared Variable that uses a cluster containing a 2-D array of Doubles.
I have found that if I write a 3x0 Array to this shared variable, it can't be read (Error 42).
If I write a 0x3, 0x0 array to it, it can be read.
How do I get a 0x3 or 3x0 array? I hear you ask

It is theoreticaly impossible but structuraly supported.
It happens in an unitiialised Class Control via typedef..

Figured that there would be several ways to do it, I was thinking re-dimension array. as another possible candidate.
The Problem is that I don't use any of those structures! It is a typedef that is initialised with an empty array constant.
That said, I would not expect the NPSV to Crash because of it, especially the difference between 3x0 vs 0x3

Property node invalid error

hi all,
i am transfering my application(for HP 4284a) from my old computer(windows 98 and labview 6.1) to a new one (windows xp and labview 8.0). A repeated error occured.
Property Node: invalid property.
Someone told me i have to change the property from Range to Range2 for the Excel Worksheet Node in my program. But as can be seen from the diagram, the list only has Range and no Range2.
Attached are print screens of the error.
Any further information required can tell me. Please help. Thanks.

It's not the Range property that is wrong, but the Value property. Use the Value2 property to read/write values from/to Excel.

2D array getting errors on passing variables and more...

When I compile this, I get an error saying that I cannot pass my variables of pizza, type, and day. It says that it cannot have String and int[][]. Then I get errors saying that symbol cannot be resolved for my variables of type, pizza, and day when they are in my input and calculate methods of the menu class.
I am trying to set up a 2D array that has 3 rows and 7 columns, for 3 types of pizza and the days of the week. If I get it right, it should allow the user to input the # of each type of pizza sold on each day, and then total it and display the totals.
Each time I change something, I get something else weird going on. If anyone can help me figure out where I went wrong I would appreciate it.

menupt.input(pizza, type, day);What this call is trying to do is send 3 arguments to input() - the 1st arg is a 2d int arr, the 2nd is a String arr and the 3rd is a String arr i.e int[][], String[], String[]
But the input() method is declared like this:
void input (String []args) throws IOExceptionAccording to this signature, input() takes only 1 argument - String arr, not 3 args that you are trying to pass to it.
Hence the compile error.

Setarraybounds to modify array get error-17325,wrong number of array indices

hello:
i tried to use setarraybounds(Locals.Raw_values,"[1]","[6][0][0]") to set new bounds value of original array[1][1200]
but get error: -17325,wrong number of array indices
and use setarraybounds(Locals.Raw_values,"[0][0][1]","[6][0][0]") gets error-17324,array index out of bounds
what can i do?
