An unknown error has occurred manage appleid
I needed to reset my security questions so i went to appleid.apple.com . however when i clicked manage my id and tried to log in, it would redirect me back to the previous page saying "An unknown error has occurred" I had changed my country from USA to Singapore before this.
I was with the same issue, but when I tried on the following day, it works. I guess it was a problem with the server. Try it again, I think it will work.

Manage My AppleId An unknown error has occurred.
When I sign in at https://appleid.apple.com/ I get taken to the Apple ID Screen (https://appleid.apple.com/account/home) with info on
What's an Apple ID
Manage my Apple ID and
Create an Apple ID
However, there is a hazard symbol above Manage My Apple ID that reads "An Unknown Error Has Occurred."
Please advise.Multiple Apple services were offline for a period of hours earlier today (March 11, 2015) but appear to be back online in the US as of 4:30 pm EDT.
You can check the status yourself, and then retry the activity if the affected service is back online in your locale.

AppleID 2-step authentication setup - an unknown error has occurred
as the title says, I've tried twice to setup 2-step authentication and always end up with a "an unknown error has occurred" once I confirm (click the checkbox) to enable the security option.
I was able to setup my SMS number, verify 2 devices and re-entered my recovery code when I was prompted.
All I get at the end is: "an unknown error has occurred"
I have to restart the entire verification process after this happens.well.. I just tried it again today and it appears to be working now.. I guess there was just a "glitch" with their systems yesterday.
All is good in the universe once again! -
An unknown error has occurred. Apple ID
This has been asked a few times but no solution has helped.
When I go to login to 'Manage my account' for my Apple ID to change the associated email address, I get a yellow triangle, with 'An unknown error has occurred' underneath. Then the manage account button again?

Anyone have any solutions?

Project Server 2010 Task page - An unknown error has occurred
Hi All,
I have searched inside the forum for similar problems but i didn't find any solution.
We have Project Server 2010 with December CU installed and

They can login to pwa succesfully but when they enter in the Task page the following error is raised:

There are no errors reported in the event viewer while in the ULS Log I found only this entry but i don't know if it's related with this issue:

It's not a task related errors because i have alredy done an analysis of the resorce's assignments.
I have also verified IIS authentication settings as described in this
post but all had been alredy correctly configured.
We have a farm installation with two physical server:
Application Server with Windows 2008 R2, SharePoint 2010 Enterprise, Project Server 2010
Database Server with Windows 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 SP2
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
RaffaeleHi,
I faced exactly the same problem: some resources try to connect to My Tasks, and get an Unknown error. No error message in ULS or Eventlog.
I hope I solved the problem, and want to share the experience here.
First, by reading this article,
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/ProjectServerFAQKnowledgeBase/Unknown%20Error%20My%20Tasks%20Page.aspx: even if the SQL Query returns me no records, it gives me the idea to delete (unpublish) some tasks (i managed to identify some tasks which raised
the problem, by assigning a test account on them, and see that the pb happened).
So I decided to delete my project from the Published Database (and keep it in the Draft of course). Than in Project Pro, I opened and Published: the problem seem to be solved.
I don't know the root cause of the pb: maybe some SQL data were corrupted for an unknown reason.
Hope it could help some one ! Don't hesitate to give feedback if you solved this pb with this solution, or workaround.

Here is my problem:
Need to change my email with the one that currently I'm using for rescue
Planed to change first the rescue email with a new one.
But:
I Forgot the security questions
Followed the reset security questions instructions.
Got the email on the rescue address but The link I've got on my rescue email to reset my security questions is invalid. By now the 3 hour window for the validity of the link is gone.
If I go via Apple ID, I login successfully but when I select Security I'm thrown back into Manage your Apple ID screen that displays now as well this message "An unknown error has occurred"
Tried several times, the same again and again.
On top of the long hours on the forums I spent 20 minutes over the phone with the US support on international charge, eventually I hanged up while waiting too long for the 3 rd expert but got an email later on indicating to clear my browser history and try again, which didn't work. Case number 519598448. Used my laptop with IE and my iPad, same result. This problem now appears for me too.
When using iforgot.apple.com email-verification clicking the reset link results in the "Invalid Link" error.
The error, that caused me to do this (password failing to verify against iCloud) has vanished since though. -
Corrupted/Locked out apple ID "An Unknown Error has occurred" logging into support?
I was forced to use a different apple id to log into this support community because all attempts from different devices and browsers using another ID have ended up at the password prompt with "An unknown error has occurred" at the community login screen. The ID can still be "manged" and appears to be able to make purchases from the iTunes Store over the internet. A phone incident case number 388249960 was opened and I spent over an hour on the phone with this problem. The ID in question was set up more than two years ago to help with my wife's iPad 1 which we paid 800 plus for,,, all the storage and bells and whistles. Recently she started using the iTunes store to purchase and download television series and we got in trouble because her directories were filling the c:drive on a Vista Business computer she normally uses. Before starting to deal with the problem of storage, I tried to make sure everything was up to date and downloaded/installed the latest iTunes 11.0,1,, to her machine. I already had it on another machine running Windows 7 and two older Windows XP machines. All of them were "tested" for home networking to our Apple TV so that I could go to the TV and find a computer which could be used as a source for streaming music, videos, etc., etc. all based on her ID. As of this writing, I believe all of that functionality still exists, but, when I navigate to support and try to log in using her ID and password, I get re-prompted for the password and then "Locked Out" when "An Unknown Error Has Occurred" pops up above the login via the web site.
I am writing this after much agony and travial via an obsolete instance of Windows Explorer running on Windows XP Home Premium on an old portable using a newly created Apple ID which does not appear to have the same problems logging into the support community. Can anyone out there help me?
I have gone to war with Comcast's "free" security enhancement software "Constant Guard" believing that it might be the source. This machine had it installed at one time and has had it completely removed, but... it still experiences the error when my wife's ID is used.
The issue may be related to the recently added requirement for secuity questions and recovery email addresses which I tried to address for her ID and inadvertently ran into conflict/problem with using certain other email addresses with her ID. Perhaps something is corrupted in the database for her ID, or related to problems with support for esoteric things like Microsoft's .NET enhancements which I have long been using on my computers, or possibly Constant Guard "started" the problem because it was probably running when account security data was being updated via the Apple web site? I tried to get information about what I thought was the "recovery email address" associated with her account and was told by Apple Web sites that it was "in use" as an apple ID and could not be used as her recovery address. When I called trying to confirm that this ID was "mine" I was able to provide one of two security clearance pieces of data, but not enough information to get the support person to straighten things out for me. I ended up creating "yet another" ID just to get clear of the mess.
I made a suggestion to one of the folks I spoke with that an improvement to the functionality of apple ID's would be to support "consolidation" of accounts so that if several different Apple devices had been registered with different ID's and they all belonged to the same user(s) that a "common ID" could be created.
I'm reluctant to post apple ID's in a public support forum, and would prefer to deal with this by private email. or phone.

App store error message "could not sign in" "an unknown error has occurred"
has anyone else gotten this message when trying to sign into the app store:
"could not sign in" "an unknown error has occurred"
i know my password is correct, i signed in on my macbook and on my imac and no issue there.
i called apple and they coulnd't figure out what it is, i reset my network settings and same thing. of course i can't do a restore because i'm at work and we don't have the new lighting cords here for me to hook up to my imacI experienced this problem, too -- and with the help of an Apple support rep, figured out a way out.
Go into Settings and turn off automatic date and time, and set your phone back a year. Then go back and turn automating date and time back on, to get back to the present. Now go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores, click on your AppleID, and re-enter it and your password. Finally, go back to the App Store (or iTunes Store) and try to download what you had been trying before -- and if you're like me, it will now pop up with a new set of Terms and Conditions for you to approve. After you approve, you'll be able to download whatever you had been trying to.
It appeared, in my case, that Apple needed to present me with a new Terms & Conditions to approve, but for some reason, iOS 6 and the Apple mother ship weren't communicating correctly about how to do that, and I was stuck with the "Could Not Sign In" message. Changing the iPhone's time and/or re-signing in via Settings > iTunes & App Stores resolved the roadblock for some reason. Hope this works for others as well! -
HT5287 Anyone else getting "An unknown error has occurred" signing in to App Store?
Hi all,
I have just acquired a Macbook Air for my wife and after a few bumps, have it up and running except that we simply cannot sign in to the App Store. It's definitely not a userid / password issue (validated via login to app store from iPad/iPhone and set up new apple ID for the wife).
What is happening is simply: when trying to SIGN IN to App Store, I get the error "An unknown error has occurred". Spent 90 minutes on phone with apple support with no luck. I know there have been some server issues due to heavy load with Mountain Lion being so popular but I know folks who have managed to get in to the App Store from their Mac in the time frame I've been 100% unable to.
Any one out there with experience on this? (I've looked at the various threads similar to this but didn't find anything that seemed to help)
Thanks allSolution... I formatted mt HD and reinstalled then applied updates. Something must have been corrupted in initial setup

An Unknown Error Has Occurred - Project Server 2010 - Tasks Page
Greetings! Some of my resources are recieving the error "An Unknown Error has occurred" (in red) when trying to access their TASKS Page in Project Server 2010.
I've researched this error quite a bit and am finding suggestions and answers pretty much all over the board. Before I have my server people start installing a slew of hot fixes - I want to know if anyone has an idea of the underlying cause
for this error. Since this issue doesn't affect everyone (i.e. I can access my task page), is it possibly related to the actual schedule in which they have assignments?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
~Randyi have found the solution for this issue, you need to do this:
in the logs you must search the "exception" and the logs give you a ID, this ID is about the task assignment in the specific resource , so this assignment is corrupt.
this ID, you need to merge in the SQL server in the project server database, you need to merge ID task with ID Project with ID Resource, so when you identify the ID project and ID resource you can
DELETE this assignment in the project from project profesional, because this task has a corrupt assignment, you must delete
ONLY FROM project professional.
This solutión solve this specific problem for this assignment that
IS DIFERENT TO THIS SOLUTION post of Brian Smith:

However downloading the songs I bought doesn't work.
Following error:
"There was a problem downloading "...". An unknown error has occured (-42018). Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
But my network is active and the diagnostics turn out OK. Please help me out!! I have songs to be downloaded that I have already payed for. This didn't work for me, but to any who may be interested, I also was experiencing unknown error -42018 when attempting to download purchased music. Additionally, I was stuck in an endless authorization loop when attempting to play previously purchaed music. All this started when I installed the latest iTunes software 7.0.2. But I managed to fix the problem on my machine.
I run windows XP Pro, and unlike the majority of users I actually set it up correctly with a dedicated administrator account, and regular user accounts instead of just running as admin all the time. For me, that was the cause of the problem.
The new version of iTunes software required FULL CONTROL privilages on the iTunes and iPod install directories for all user accounts that were using the program. (Previous versions worked fine, so this is a new thing.) Once I provided those permissions, iTunes worked correctly. Follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 for information on how to provide FULL CONTROL to every user account.
I hope you all find this helpful in solving your problem.
Good Luck,
Bill
