An unknown error occured (-208)
Hi,
I am having problems using my iTunes on my iMac G4 to preview songs on Music Store as well as accessing songs I purchased before. Whenever I tried to do that, iTunes always asked me to enter my Apple ID and once I did that, I got the following message:
"machine authorization was successful. You have authorized a total number of 2 machines out of your available 5."
After I press ok, then I got this "We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occurred (-208). There was an error in the Music Store. Please try again later."
I tried to delete the music library files, and I also tried to reinstall iTunes 6, still have the same problem.
Can anybody shed some light here?

Got the same problem and after posting it on the discussion board so do a number of other people, waiting for a comment from Apple, hopefully they will create a fix soon as ITunes 6 is full of bugs.

No music after 3.0 upg.: cannot be synced an unknown error occurred (-208)
Upgraded my iPhone 3G to 3.0. All went smoothly and everything seems to be working fine. Only issue was that my music had disappeared. Went on to resync it but iTunes shows that the music is still there - but I cannot do anything with it: cannot add to it, cannot delete it, etc. Suspect files are fine but library is corrupt. Was hoping that adding or deleting a song would force a library reindexing but no luck.

I am gettign strange errors, to which I can find no explination, solutions or even a mention of. Upon syncing my iPod nano with iTunes 7.0.2 I get an error "The iPod (bla bla bla) cannot be updated. An unknown error occured (-208)"
There is an Apple error code for -208:
-208 badFileFormat File is corrupt or unusable, or not AIFF or AIFF-C
It then syncs the music correctly, but not the photos or the contacts. When setting the contacts to be updated, iTunes says "No Contacts available. Open Address Book and create contacts?" Address Book is full of cantact and has been for years.
The system log has:

Itune 7 has MAJOR problem with shuffle with Window system, not with MAC.
So download itune 6 @ http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
Then bring your ipod to a local apple store for resetting your ipod, telling them you want it for WINDOW use @ http://www.apple.com/retail/
I can feel your pain, bro! I literally had a nightmare a week ago. I almost started a major BOYCOTT movement nationally against (corrupt, greedy) APPLE using my connection with a nationally popular talk radio host. Thank GOD, I at least found a solution. I hope APLLE will work so hard to come up with better version of itune 7 soon! -

I get monthly voucher from US store and use US store. I am registered on a US address but work out of NZ. Use voucher from NZ.It's actually not stalling on any songs. I updated my iPad today and then try to download and update some applications, but "unknown error occurred" keeps popping up..? Help please!

I had 429 songs already on my iPod Touch. When I was in the process of syncing a song from my iTunes Library on to my iPod, a window popped up on the screen saying, ""The iPod "Edward's iPod" cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (13019)). I click "Device" on my iTunes Library to make sure the song was in my iPod. It showed the song that was recently synced now listed under "Device", but when I physically looked for the song on my iPod Touch, it does not appear on there at all. It all started when I decided to put a Playlist I created in the iTunes Library and transferred it on to my iPod. Do you know why it may affected my syncing process and is there any way where I could get the syncing function back to normal so that I can continue adding songs on my iPod? Thank you for listening. P.S. My iPod iOS version is 4.3.5.

I purchased an album on ITunes store, while the items downloaded to my phone, it didn't download to my mac. Some of the songs downloaded but not the majority, when I try to download the songs, it gives me an error 8003 Unknown error occured. What am I doing wrong? I'm on Windows 7 - using itunes daily without problems and suddenly itunes wont open, I get "itunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-50)" The only thing I can think is I think there was a download in progress when I shut down the computer.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalled, but I get the same thing. I tried clearing the itunes folder and reinstalling, same thing. help!Doublechecking. When you did the complete uninstall, were you using the following document as a guide?

Hello everyone,
When I try to download the latest episode of my podcast feed, I see an exclamation mark next to the episode. When I click on the exclamation mark for more information, I see the following error message:
"There was a problem downloading <podcast_episode>. An unknown error occurred (-50). Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again."
I was hoping that somebody might take a look at my feed and review the code for any potential problems. It can be found here:

Important notes:
1. This is not XML code. It is an XML generator created in PHP.
2. This feed used to work fine in iTunes. I had many episodes already downloaded.
3. I began noticing the problem after upgrading to iTunes version 7 and beyond.
4. I know at least 3 other people that experienced the same problem with my feed after upgrading.
5. Upgrading to newer service packs (7.0.2 for example) has not solved the problem.
6. I ran my feed through an RSS validator. It spotted 2 errors: (1) the width of the podcast image and (2) the syntax of the <source> tag. I made corrections but they did not solve the problem. I changed them back after that.

After upgrading to Itunes 11 it refused to play movies I had purchased through the Itunes store, even though I could see the files were there on my hard drive, and the movie covers were visible in Itunes. I discovered that the only way to get them playing was to redownload them from the Icloud. If this wasn't bad enough (I have over 200GB of movies) I am getting the following error on particular files.

I hope somone can help me with both problems because whilst my ISP might like to see me download 200MB of data (I pay extra when I go over 20GB in a month), I would not. Also the error problem would be usefull to correct because I would hate to lose any of my Itunes purchases. I should probably mention that I am using Windows 8 64 bit.
