An unkown error occucrs when synching

Unknown error (-69). I keep getting a message that says it can't copy to the disk "Jason's iPod" when I try to synch and it's unkown error (-69). It used to update, no problems. Then I bought some songs on iTunes on my computer, and everything updated by the songs I bought. I tried to figure out why they wouldn't, authorized the account on my computer to make sure that didn't do it and now nothing synchs!? Please help, thank you!

Thank you for the help. I was looking at the iPod Touch help and not having any luck but once you showed me that page I just ended up having to uncheck a few songs. This must mean the file got damaged? I'll just find my CD's and reimport them, thank you again for the help.

Error 1156 when synching iPad 1 - 41Gb over capacity on 'Other'!

I've suddently got a problem synching my 64Gb iPad 1 today with error 1156. It says I am 41Gb over capacity on 'Other'. I don't know where it's getting this from as on the iPad itself it says it has 54Gb used on it and 4Gb available. On iTunes though it says I have 45Gb on Audio (which is about right), a fraction on video and books (again about right) and now 54Gb on 'Other'! When I look through all the Apps I am using though, doing a quick add up of the memory used only comes to about a few Gbs at most.
Anyone know what's going on here?

If it come back, the only way to get rid of such a big other is restoring the device. Either it's documents from programs which you can check under settings, usage, and selecting the program. If you think it's "not right" it's most likely corrupt data, which can be fixed by a restore.

Error 42003 when synching apps to iphone

Aargh!
I am trying to sync my songs on my iPhone 4, but I can't get past the apps sync. iTunes complains that "This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone 'My iPhone'. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes store?"
When I attempt to authorize my computer (which was authorized the last time I sync'ed my phone a week or two ago), I get the message: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-42003). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
I also get this error when I try to listen to a song in iTunes that I had purchased from the Apple store.
I have no trouble accessing the Apple store through iTunes. My account shows that I have 4 computers authorized for my account (5 is the max, right?).
I have double-checked the user id - it is the same one that shows in the app's "Get Info" (it's the same one I have always used). If I enter the wrong password, I get a password error, not the 42003 error.
I did everything in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 and still have the problem.
I have tried to de-authorize/authorize my computer from the iTunes/Store menu, but that also gives the -42003 error.
I have uninstalled iTunes, restarted my computer, and reinstalled iTunes -- still have the problem.
I have run iTunes/Help/Run Diagnostics and all the tests passed.
Naturally, this all happened 4 days after my 3 month iPhone warranty expired, so I can't talk to a real support person unless I want to pay them $29 for their unknown error. And one of the times I was trying to solve the problem, I accidentally clicked the "Don't authorize" button and iTunes DELETED MY ANGRY BIRDS APP!! Of all my apps, the only one that had any data I cared about is the only one that got deleted! My apologies for shouting, but I am so frustrated I could cry!!

I just updated to iTunes 10.2, and the authorization issue has magically gone away (note that Apple released iTunes 10.2 on 2011/03/02, but iTunes did not notify me of the update; I just happened to check for myself in a last ditch effort to resolve this problem). Not a very comforting solution, but at least Apple is now letting me have my duly purchased songs and apps back.
For future reference, this was actually a problem that I could have reported via email -- I apparently chose poorly when going down the online help path. Instead of considering this an iPhone issue, I should have gone to Support -> iPod+iTunes -> iTunes. Then, under "Get Customer Service," select "Authorization" -> "Troubleshoot authorization problems" -> "Tunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases". From there, you can send an email for support.

How I fixed an "unkown error" problem when publishing to .Mac

I recently experienced the "unknown error" when attempting to publish my iWeb sites to my .mac account. The error popped up early in the publishing operation, on a site that I had published many times before. I looked around in my iWeb domain folder, and noticed this file:
~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites/cached_resources/configuration.apple.com/configuratio ns/internetservices/iapps/publishConfiguration.plist
Looking at the content (it contains XML data), it was obvious that the file was corrupt, with some data at the end missing. Maybe something went wrong when it was written. As it is in a directoy called "cached_resources", I figured, iWeb should be able to recreate it. So I quit iWeb, removed the file, restarted iWeb. Voila, the file was recreated, without corruption, and publishing works again without a hitch.

Might the error be -50?

Unknown error (-50) when synching photos from iPhoto

Hi all,
I got a new iMac couple of weeks ago. Everything works fine except for the synchronization of photos from iPhoto to my iPhone 4S and my iPad 4.
When I select a folder to sync it works fine. When I select iPhoto as source (all, album, event, face) iTunes shows an error message that the iPad/iPhone could not be synced and the an 'Unknown error occured (-50)'.
I am up to date with iPhoto, iTunes and Mac OS X.
Any idea what the problem could be?

I don't want to know anything. You need to tell people that if they follow your advice they lose data - any edits or changes made to photos in iPhoto, any albums, books, slideshows etc they have made, any additional metadata they have added - places, faces, keywords, and, unless you're quite careful exporting, possibly some of the metadata added by your camera too.
The very least you might do is explain the options in the Export dialogue, the implications of the choices made there and how they contrast with drag and drop.
An iPhoto installation is made up of two quite distinct parts - the app and the Library. I know of no issue that has ever required nuking both. As you don't tell us what efforts you made to solve your problem I won't comment futher.

Sounds like you actually have a 1st generation as those cannot update beyond iOS 3.1.3.

Hello everyone.
I got an 5.5 iPod Video (30gb) for christmas and I can't update the name of the Ipod nor change the settings for music, TV shows, movies, podcasts, pictures or even reset it!
I can however sync music, tv shows, movies and pocasts (not pictures).
So I called Apple the other day and told them about my problem. The guy I was talking to told me that the only option avaible was to send the iPod to Apple and have them repair it. And so I did. It came back today with 1.2 update installed, instead of 1.2.1 which I used before I had the iPod sent for repair. The enclosed papers said that they (Apple) could not find any problems on the iPod itself and it's batterys and that "it met Apples specifications for acceptable performance, usablity and/or functionality."
Yeah well... It doesnt. I'm using a PC with Windows XP, Service Pack 2 and I have USB 2.0. I have the latest version of iTunes and I had the latest firmwire update for my Ipod (1.2.1) and it didn't work.
When I first plugged the iPod in today when it had version 1.2 installed it worked, but the next time I plugged it in.. well, it didnt work. So right now I'm using 1.2.
I've tried re-installing iTunes and restoring the iPod via both iTunes and on the iPod itself. Nothing works. Can someone here help me out?
Btw. I'm using an iPod dock.

I did put my iPod into DFU and iTunes recognized it in restore mode. After restore I am back where I was before - iTunes cannot connect because of an unknown error.
I have installed Jailbreak to see if I can bypass itunes but haven't succeeded. I can't get my computer to recopgnize the iPod as a device.
I'll take it to a Genius bar next time I am in the area of one. Until then I'll probably continue to try hacks to get it connected.

Does anyone know what this means? My Iphone wont synch to my Itunes anymore.

378 MB on the phone may not be enough to "stage" the backup, so try freeing some space by temporarily deleting music or apps.
It's also possible that the current backup on the computer is corrupt; try deleting it by going to iTunes Preferences, Devices tab.

Cannot read/write error message when synching

I've been doing my best to get my iPod up to date, but every time I try to sync the message that the drive is not able to be read from or written to appears about an tenth of the way in. I've restored my iPod and updated iTunes but the message continues to reappear. Am I totally beat or is there a chance I can continue to use this iPod.

I Keep getting unkown error(-3000) when converting videos.

I imported some videos into itunes, and then needed to convert the files so that they can be transfered to my ipod. Unfortunately, every time I try to "convert selection for ipod" an unknown error pops up. It says that an uknown error occurred while trying to convert the file. The error is uknown error (-3000)?? I'm not sure what needs to be done. Any help would be great! thanks.
