Analog Convertor Problem

I have an ADS Pro AV convertor. The problem is that while transferring VHS tape to IMovie (version 4-6) the imported image changes to a sepia looking image. The image goes to black and white and reverses meaning white to a greyish black and black to a white/gray. There is no pattern. It can happen after 15 mintues of importing or whatever. The only thing I can do is stop rewind import again and edit.

This will happen if you hard drive does not have enough space.

  • Analog trunk problem

I have an analog trunk plugged into a 2811 with a VIC2-4FXO. When the line is in use, if a call comes in on it, the caller hears one ring, then a busy signal (not just a busy signal). What would be causing this? It happens to be the last line in a hunt group that is set at the CO to forward on busy to another hunt group, but the forward isn't happening, probably because of that first ringback.

Likely the problem is not due to the router. If you do "debug vpm signal" you will see the incoming ring and port going off-hook. You should see that for engaged ports, no new call is presented, and is the router does nothing in generating ringback, as you said the line is busy already when the call comes in.
hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

  • NI DualPoint Analog Module Problems

I have been unsuccessful in making NI's 778069-08 (Analog Input) and 778070-06 (Analog Output) modules work in my FP-TB-10 bases. They physically don't plug in easily, and when they finally fit, are not seen as analog modules, in MAX - they are seen as digital!
I have ordered Grayhill 73L-IV10's and 73L-OV10's, and they fit and work perfectly, every time (and MAX sees them as analog!)
My local rep sent the modules back to Austin, and they couldn't find anything wrong with them...they are now saying there's an issue with the TB-10 bases.
I'm guessing that NI's got the modules labeled wrong, or Grayhill slid the wrong PC boards into the modules they made for NI before they epoxied them shut.
Anyone else have any experiences with this?
    Mike

Like Chris , I also Just wanted to add my experiences for the benefit of others.
I had a similar problem, and desolved it exactly like Cheris.
But I still have an Undissolve issue with FP-AI-V100m dualpoint in FP-2015 system.
My system works 24/365 (non-stop), somtime for monthes with no problems. Then I find that the FP-2015 is not working, and all it's leds are off, although the power supplay is OK (24vdc). After a power reset the system will continue working fine for some days/hours, but then it will fell down again, and so on..
I replaced the TB-10 (type D), the FP-2015, the Power supplay, but the issue have not "stop" until I replaced the PF-AI-V100m. Not really stop, but give me some more monthes of silence.
I test the voltage of the Oxygen sensor (only 1 is connected to that DualPoint), and it is in the range ot 0-100mv.
I replaced the FP-AI-V100m already twice, the "bad" DualPoint caused the same problem when it is connected to a different Controler.
I have a second system, with a same configuration, and have no problems their ..
After more than a year of problems, reading also other's problems in this forum,
I'm changing sensors and TB-10 to FP-AI-110, with a hope that it will be more stable.
    My configuration is:
    FP-2015, TB-10 (FP-RTD-PT100 in slot 1, FP-AI-v100m in slot 2), FP-DI-301, FP-DO-420 *2 modules.
I use 2 24vdc power suppliers, each with 2 separate V.out for the different modules.

  • Weird DV convertor problem

I have been trying to capture some old VHS tapes to burn to DVD. I'm using FCEHD, but when I start the capture window, the video is playing back incorrectly. The top half of the tape is playing in the bottom half of the window. Kind of a split screen effect. It looks fine on the preview monitor. I tried capturing it like that anyway, but I can't export for burning when I finish the editing. I get an I/O error every time. I have tried numerous VCRs, different VHS tapes recorded using different VCRs, etc. Same thing all the time. I also get the same problem in iMovie. I tried the tech support at Miglia and they haven't been any help. I'm using Directors Cut. Is this something that can be occuring in FCEHD as opposed to the DV convertor? (The same thing was happening before I upgraded to HD)

    Hi B
Just a question as You are using X.3.9 as me (and I keep it a while more)
are You using QT 6.5.2 or can it be so that You have upgraded to 7.0.x -
    7.0.3 ?

  • 6024E analog out problem-Urgent

    Hi ,
I'm developing a device driver for NI6024E Pci Daq for Linux. I
configured the registers for analog output & sometimes there is a
error of addition of 0.1V real value of output. When this
happens, i boot Windows and load NI DAQ it gets coorected. As I feel,
there is a problem in initialization. Please help me to sort this out.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Michael-
I see you posted your request in the DDK Forum.  This forum will be viewed by NI software engineers, but most users in this forum will not have experience with driver development because NI-DAQmx Base for Linux does support your PCI card.
I would suggest that you wait for a reply to your other thread or simply use the driver that is already available for Linux.  Hopefully this helps-

  • E1 to Ethernet convertor problem

    HI,
I hv cisco 2621 router frm its etthernet it's converted into E-1 (T-1 in USA ) then fiber optics again after almost 1200 km it is converted into ethernet frm E-1. but while i m putting real traffic in this link i m getting intermediant drops at the second end. i hv conneted this ethernet convertor to Cisco 2950 switch, in this switch one pc is connected to monitor this link continously. Problem is that the drops not being captured while pinging frm one end pc to other end. but its giving drops after 2950 switch. this switch is L-2 purpose only i.e. no vlans. I hv the que. that whether i should do some addition configuration of the ethernet of my 2621 router bcoz this is travelling to some 1200 km.
Pls suggest. ur quick response will help me very much.
    Thanks,
    Hardik..

    Thanks for ur reply,
ur que. is answered below pls go through it, i doubt for long distance should i hv to put some ethernet peering in 2621 router ??
Are you getting drops only trying with ICMP traffic or in addition with any other bulk traffic to it ?
our SAP users get disconncted and its also capturing in monitoring as icmp drops.
how about the loading conditions on the link ?
loading is with traffic shaping of 1mbps
is it still on testing environment before putting any live traffic on that ?
no, it is with live traffic now.
also can u confirm whether you gotta any QOS related esp related to queueing on the 2950 end ?
no qos in 2950 and we dont require to put any qos in 2950
also any qos configs there in ur router ?
    no qos is configured.
if possible can you post the configs of both the equipments here ?
    router ethernet config is :
    interface FastEthernet0/1
    ip address 172.20.0.12 255.255.0.0
    ip nat inside
    duplex auto
    speed auto
what about the speed and duplex setting on both router as well as 2950 end ?
    2950 is with defual setting.
can you hardcode them to 10/full or 100/full instead leaving it to negotiate with the converter.
i had tried it before but result is same
Generally the converters whatever i have seen supports 10/full and 10/half.may be thts the point to be checked out here too .

  • 6035E Analog Output problem

    I have a 6035E with two analog outputs ("0" and "1").  Output 0
seems to work just fine, as do the analog inputs I've tried.  The
problem is that output 1 does not.  It only seems to give

  • Mac Mini & Analog Display Problem

We just received our Mac Mini computer. We pplan to use an existing VGA monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 730B). We plugged the monitor cable into the Apple VGA to Thunderbolt adapter. First time we powered the MiniMac we saw the Apple logo immediately at power up. The display reads "Check Signal Cable" after the computer completes its power up signal. How do we get a working display to complete the Mac Mini set up steps?

    John,
A further update to our monitor problem:
After posting my last message I noted that when the display/computer goes into screen saver or sleep mode, the screen was blank with the "Check Cable" message scrolling across the screen. Unplugging the Thuderbolt connector at the computer and plugging it in again was the only way to restor the images from the computer.
This morning I replaced the original cable (and VGA connectors) with a cable that was twice the diameter of the original cable. The monitor has worked flawlessly since then at re-start from the sleep state. I conclude that either the replacement cable, connectors or both do a better job conveying the signals between the computer and monitor. It could be that there is some high speed signal the monitor looks for to initiate re-start that is distorted by the original cable.
With either cable the images and text are crisp with no distortion. I see no need to upgrade to a DVI cable and connection between this monitor and the Mac Mini now that the monitor re-start function is working.

  • Importing analog video problems

I'm trying to import some old 8mm Sony video into imovie and it only gets imported as Black & White video. I'm using a new Canopus ADVC 110. setup - analog inputs into the front of the canopus and firewire cable, one supplied, out the back to thefirewire port on the iMac. Importing works but it only comes in as B&W. Also no sound during importing but is there during playback. Is there special settings to make this works on either the canopus or the iMac? Any suggestions to how I can get the video imported as Color video would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It is almost certainly nothing to do with the Mac.
Analogue-DV Converters need careful configuring to work properly. Read the User Manual carefully and check that it is set up for a Mac. (Mine, a different make, had a hidden panel at the back with several switches that all needed to be in the correct positions for the particular task).

  • Analog out problem

I am generating pulses ans sending them through the analog outs. I have the outs connected to the oscilloscope. When i run my prog. both the analog out channels shift up by 5v. When i stop the prog it remains in the shifted 5V. Now i goto the Measurements and Automation software and say test on either one of the analog out and it falls back to zero. But when i run the prog again i find the output shifted by 5V. Can anyone tell me why its happening this way? Thanks!

You could upload the vi in question so we can see what's up.
Sounds like you aren't putting a "reset" segment into your program, such as a frame at the end that sets the AO's to 0V.
Run vi->Set AO to 5V->Do stuff->Set AO to 0V->Shutdown vi.
MAX well reset the AOs when it opens up, so you need to do the same within your program.

  • Audigy gameport /analog joystick problems

    Hi all,
I have an audigy soundcard. I recently bought a quickshot cheepy analog joystick.
I have loaded the following modules as recommended by Judd.
    analog                 11168  0
    joydev                  8768  0
    ns558                   4996  0
    emu10k1_gp              3072  0
    gameport               12424  4 analog,ns558,emu10k1_gp
And my joystick is plugged in yet i have no /dev/js0 or /dev/input/js0 .
If i dmesg i get this
    gameport: EMU10K1 is pci0000:02:0c.1/gameport0, io 0xdff0, speed 1028kHz
I've tried loading the drivers before the sound ones and after but still no /dev files.
Can anybody else help me please ?
Oh im using the latest 2.6 kernel untouched.

    well...
is the emu10k1-gp driver correct for the audigy? run hwdetect --show-other ... is that module listed there?
it may somehow be possible that the analog driver is not recognizing your joystick. i was unable to find specific instructions for your joystick in the kernel joystick driver documentation, so i would presume analog is the one you need, but one can not be sure.
unfortunately, hwdetect doesn't seem to detect joystick drivers. maybe it should!

  • LM3S8962 Analog Input problem

    hi everyone,
i am using a custom made electronic board using LM3S8962. In labview 2012 embedded after creating the new project and selecting the processor type, I add new elemental io, choose the analog input and get an error.
With digital input, I have error too:
"An internal software error has occurred. Contact National Instruments technical support at ni.com/support. Error details:
    1003 : Open VI Reference in EIONode_CommonScripter.vi:1->EIONodeCodeGen.vi:3->EIONode.xnode:EIONode_GenerateCode.vi:1->EIONode.xnode:EIONode_GenerateCode.vi.ProxyCaller<APPEND>

    What does this mean???

Error 1003 means a VI being called is not executable or one of its subVIs is unable to be found.  Try checking the file path in the error message and seeing if you can find the VIs it lists. You may have had some kind of installation issue and a dependent VI for LabVIEW Embedded may not have been installed in the correct place.  You could try a reinstall or a force reinstall to make sure the files are all in the correct place.

  • Stealth Mini G4 Analog Video Problem

Anyone know how I could go about fault finding - I've got a `G4 stealth (1.5) mini and the 64MB video gives me a series of little moving wave effects on the screen. Its fine if I use DVI input - and I've seen it on another with this same screen - any ideas?
Is it the mini, the TFT or cable, or combination?
    Much obliged.

    Sorry guys.
After Auto-adjusting the screen it was rock solid

  • Having problems with encoder readings due to motor commutation noise

    Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask for advice with a hardware problem which I believe is rather usual.
    Here I describe my application:
We are controlling an electric actuator for a robotics application. We are using encoders to take position readings and we need to perform analog acquisition for other measurements (such as force measured with strain gauges).
    The problem is:
In summary, I am having problems to acquire properly position readings from a quadrature linear encoders and also some analog inputs. The cause  is the commutation noise generated by the motor drive we are using (which is a brushless dc motor Moog BN-23-23).
Our acquisition platform is a NI PXI-8106 with a PXI-1042Q chassis. We have two possibilities to acquire the signals. We have a multifunction DAQ M series NI PXI-6259 and a FlexRIO NI PXI-7951R with a DIO module NI PXI-6581R.
The commutation noise have a frequency of 30 kHz. In an oscilloscope we can see a series of noise peaks that are only present during a short period of time (about 1/10 of the period of the noise). The rest of the time the noise is not present.
The Accelnet amplifier module that feeds the electric motor provides us with a clock signal synchronized with the noise (which frequency is about 1/4 of the noise frequency). This clock signal provides a mean to solve the problem of the analog acquisition. We can use this clock to perform a buffered acquisition with an external clock in LabView connecting the clock to a PFI pin or to the FPGA card. But the noise is also corrupting this clock signal (we get a daqmx error warning us about possible glitches in the clock signal, and also stopping the acquisition). I believe that solving the encoder problem we can solve also the analog acquisition problem.
In the encoder readings the noise is making our counter count upwards or backwards gradually rather fast. We can get an increase in position of about 10 cm/second without any appreciable movement in the linear actuator.
It would be of great help if anyone could post the solution he is using to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    jespestana
PS: I insist in my belief that we are having a hardware issue, because we are only having bad readings when the electric motor is working. I am convinced so because we have already performed encoder and analog readings using other drives, such as hydraulic cylinders. Thus, I think that it is not a problem of our software (of our LabView VI).
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi jespestana,
I'm not sure why the noise would be causing your encoder measurement to increment more slowly...  However I do have one suggestion on the M Series board (6259):
The M Series cards have built-in digital filtering on the PFI lines (see the M Series User Manual).  It sounds like the noise is a series of ~3 us pulses (1/10 of 1/30 kHz).  One of the available filtering frequencies that you may set on your M Series is 6.425 us, which should ignore any pulses (high or low) that are less than 6.425 us. You may set digital filtering with a DAQmx Property Node:
A caveat is that the driver only allows you to configure digital filtering for counter inputs on M Series devices.  So, you could use digital filtering directly on your encoder task but not for your AI Sample Clock.  A workaround can be found here, which involves configuring a dummy counter task to set the PFI filter for your AI task.  If you're using the same PFI line for your encoder and AI task, you should just be able to set the PFI filter through the encoder task and not worry about the workaround.
With regards to the Flex RIO, I believe you could implement something similar on the FPGA, but I'm probably not the best person to comment about this.  It would likely be a great deal more work than using the built-in filtering of the DAQmx API.
    Best Regards,
    John Passiak
