Analog Video In for iPad

Hello,
is there any accessory allowing analog video in for the iPad? I want to show the image of a FPV camera, mounted on a RC plane, on my iPad screen. Is there any solution without converting this signal to an IP cam signal with an adapter like the Axis 214S video server and a security app like EyeSeeU or the like?

Thank you Johnathan for your quick answer.
The problem concerning flying FPV is that the live image must have the smallest delay as possible. Most IP cams have a delay of 1 second or more over WiFi. Delays or dropouts while controlling a flying object like a quadrokopter using an onboard camera can be dangerous, if not impossible. I guess I will have to stick to the usual video goggles or an analog battery powered video screen.

  • How to make video screensaver for iPad?

    Dear all,
does any one know how to make a video screensaver for iPad? We plan to use iPad's (with iOs7) in our retail shops and we want them to role video screensavers (while iPad is locked). I know that Apple Demo has it.
And did I miss something but in previous iOs versions there was possibility to make photo slide show when iPad is locked and now in iOs7 it is not possible? Or is there a work around?
    Thanks!

The slide show on the lock screen feature has been removed from iOS. However, there are apps that will let you create slide shows. There are probably ones that will loop videos as well. You should be able to combine one of these with the Guided Access feature (which restricts the iPad to one app) to do what you want. Search the App Store for slide show apps. Review the information in the manual for Guided Access.
    Best of luck.

  • Change default video player for iPad

Is there any way to change the default video player for iPad?
For instance, to be able to see mpeg, mkv videos, etc.

Did you figure out how to do it ? I have some movies copied over from a NAS into FileExplorer app on my ipad, but it uses quick time as player and it does a lousy job with mkv files.
Note: Jailbreaking is not an option

  • Capture analog video audio for MacBook

Is there an inexpensive way to get analog video and audio in/out using my MacBook? I'll be using Final Cut Pro 5.1 Studio to edit. Most of my media will be from my BetaCam SX camera. I will be exporting to DVD, Beta and who knows what for broadcast and internet. Thanks for the help. Gary

The cheapest viable choice you have is to go DV-rez for your project. All you'll need is a Firewire breakout box such as a Canopus, Pyro AV, or other similar box - they usually cost around the $200 mark.

  • How can i use original audio track in video editing for iPad 2?

I am struggling to understand how the video editing apps work for iPad 2, and specifically, to understand why all the editing apps I have looked at explain how you can make these terrific video clips by ADDING audio tracks from iTunes, or. From the audio library. I just want to use the original audio on the tape?  Is that so strange? Today I took a video clip of my daughter singing with her guitar. I wanted to shorten the length a bit, so I downloaded a couple of Visio editing apps. When I pulled the clip out of my Camera Roll storage into the video editing screen, there was no sound at all, though there were ways to add other sounds ( for .99cents) most frustrating is that nowhere, does Apple explain this.  The tutorials just show someone editing a video of their friends ( with no sound) And adding text and music, as if it's normal not to include the actual sound that originally accompanied the video clip.  Seems like i wouldn't be the only customer who would prefer to hear my daughters own voice Ina video of her singing, and would like thisexplainedbefore I started downloading editing apps. If it can't be done, couldn't This be posted?

I am not understanding your question, or your complaint, if it is a complaint.
I movies takes a video clip, including its audio track.
You have the option of mutimg it, or of importing some other sound from your music library, or narrating.  What other option do you want?

  • Video compression for iPad?

We use Final Cut Pro 7 - and frequently compress our HD videos we make using Compressor. We use high end HD cameras, etc., and have beautiful results when compressing at, say 20 - 30mbs for display on HD monitors and televisions. We know how to compress for iPod and Apple TV, and various web sizes . . . but what parameters should we be using for the iPad?
I've read it plays up to 2.5mbs??
I hope I'm WRONG, because with fast moving subjects, you'll see a lot of pixelation at that low data rate.
I looked in the Compressor templates, but don't see one for iPad. Anyone know what settings we should be using? Or what's the highest data rate an iPad will play?
    Thanks,
    Larry

Here's what the specs say is supported:
H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file format
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
My unit hasn't arrived yet for me to do any testing.

  • Random video chat  for iPad

What is available for iPad random video chatting?

Thank you for answering. I checked on Chatroulette and a couple of others, and they stated you needed Adobe Flash Player, which of course is not available with Apple products. Maybe someday they will get that worked out.
    Thanks again so much.

  • Video file for iPad retina

    Hello everybody
I'd like to know what is the best file i can place in an article that will be displayed ONLY on iPad retina : is it useful to have a video file that is 2048 x 1536 (means : damn heavy) or must I stick to the 1024*768 ?
    Thanx a lot

The largest supported video size for the retina iPad is 1920x1080p. Determining the right video size depends on a number of factors. If you have a short video with lots of movement, 1920x1080 might be the right choice. If you have a long video with a talking head, using the maximum video size increases the folio size unnecessarily.

  • Video Converter for Ipad 2

I just got my iPad 2 a week back and since then I have been searching for a suitable video converter.I was hoping that other iPad users can recommend a video converter which can not only convert the video but also change the aspect ratio to 4:3 so I can watch the video in full screen on my device.
(P.S- I know this question has been posted a number of times on this forum, and I have tried many of those software's but I have found none which can give me the desired aspect ratio.)

Since you don't mention what software you've already tried, be prepared to have people recommend the same things that you've already tried.
The most recommended software for video conversion is Handbrake.

  • Video IN for iPad

OK just thought I'd try a long shot and see if any of you can shoot this down right away. I'm looking for an iPad sized video monitor to use in the field, yep just like a 'field monitor'. ~The size and weight of the iPad and its resolution are perfect. Is there any way, workaround etc of feeding video from my sony HVR V1 to the iPad so I can use it as a live video monitor. I know it accepts connections from still cameras. The camera has ilink in/out, HDMI out, component out.
You guessed it , I don't own an iPad and know very little about them, so any takers ?
    Peter

    Hmmm???
I'll tell you where from i got the idea, check here, it is clearly stated that the iPad plays: "H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames" and "Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels"
To give you some hints about video an HD:
There are various formats, but only two are interesting: The HD 720 and the 1080, in combination with 'i' and 'p'.
    The HD 720 has actually a resolution of 1240 x 720.
    The HD 1080 has a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The iPad has a screen size of 1024 x 768, so actually it won't meet HD 720 standard, but it can play that format.
    There are three facts important:
First, to play a HD 720, the iPad has to convert the movie to fit on the screen. So a lot of CPU power is needed for that.
Second, converting from a bigger size to a smaller one you loos quality, most obvious is the loss of details, but also color and contrast is affected.
Third, the movie formats that the iPad plays are all compressed and not raw data. Squeezing a compressed format will result in even more loss of details.
So, to squeeze a 1920 x 1080 movie down to a 1024 x 768 screen does not make a lot of sense and would need very much crunching power (CPU), especially if we are talking about uncompressed data.
These are only a few aspects of the problem.
    enjoy your magic machine

I've encoded some footage using the Compressor iTV preset and it looks pretty dang good on the iPad.
Transferred using iTunes. Source was DVCProHD and some 1080/60p. Yep, 60p.
We have a component out for our iPhone, and using that out to a Pioneer HDTV produced acceptable footage, but definitely not HD.
On the iPad - wow. No hiccups at all, unlike two net books we owned

  • Will iOS 6 feature video playlists for IPAD

Ok - so iOS 5 music app on IPAD does not show video playlists - even though iOS5 app on IPOD Touch and IPHONE do show them.  Will iOS 6 fix this?  I need video playlists.  I travel a lot for work and this keeps me going when i get back to the hotel room.  Please don't suggest some 3rd party app.

Not only aren't playlists added to videos, they took away our ability to watch video playlists through the music app on iPhone.    I wonder what Apple has against a video playlists on its devices.
Since videos are no longer stored or viewed in the music app, a video playlist there would be sort of pointless now, wouldn't it.
