Analog video signal

Hi everyone,
is there a chance to get an analog signal over the HDMI output so i can convert over DVI to VGA?
Thanks!

Help please?
It's me again!
So far I've got the analog video stream captured only when using DVD Creator 2. But, I still have two more problems to solve. 1) When I stop recording onto DVD creator, always error message:"WinDVD Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." is displayed, and restarting the program it cannot open the recorded clip saying "either the file is corrupt or a non-compatible file format" while Windows Media player can play it back. I cannot edit the recorded video clip as a result. 2) The second problem is that the video stream from S-Video of analog camcorder is played back OK, but once click the record on DVD creator, the video capturing starts to lag and looses smooth flow.
Any hint or comment is appreciated.
Thanks,
Moe

  • Qosmio G10: analog video signal capturing from Camcorder

    Please help
I am from Canada and new to this forum. I bought a Qosmio G10 early this year but only had a chance to try to use it to capture and convert my V8 home video tapes recently with no success.
I have tried the Toshiba Tech support with no hope. I have tried the registery patch for VinDVD creator 2, but still it is not seeing my video input stream from the camcorder. I tried both S-Video and Composite inputs with no result. Anybody with similar experience?
    I appreciate your help.

  • H215 Loses the analog video signal after a few minutes after start up.

After Windows 7 is loaded and about 30 minutes to an hour of normal screen and computer usage, the display goes black and my Viewsonic monitor says that the analog signal is missing and then goes into power save mode. Why is this happening? And the only way to resume the use of the computer is to force shut down the tower and then to power it back on. Which then runs through the failed start because I had to force shut down the system due to the display losing its signal. Please assist in this matter. I just bought the system a few days ago and for it to be doing this is quite dissatisfying. Thanks.

    Hello Oremus Productions,
First of all, sorry for this frustrating issue. The first thing to check with OS X Mavericks or Yosemite is the permissions of your Adobe folders. Here is blog post to check out: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
The other thing I'm curious about is ProRes and if Premiere is handling it properly. Tell me, do you have Final Cut Pro 7, Final Cut Pro X, iMovie, or any of the Apple video products installed? Do you have any components in your Mac HD > Library > QuickTime?
    Thanks,

  • Displaying multiple analog video signals

I am trying to view two simultaneous video feeds coming into a PXI-1409.  Video #0 seems fine but Video #1 does not seem to be triggering correctly.  I've included the VI that I have successfully used before with different cameras (Pulnix TM-300 cameras).  I did not write this code but I did modify it so that it would work with my cameras (Samsung SCC-B2331).    I believe that it has something to do with the triggering.  Perhaps I shot myself in the foot with the modification but I'm hoping to get a better understanding of what's going on  Any suggestions?

    Hi samwarr11,
What did you change in this VI when you adapted it to work with your cameras? And can you attach the picture you tried to include in your last post -- it's not showing up.

  • Capture analog video

Hi, when i have a g5 with finalcut 5 i can capture analog video (betacam conected to a dvcam recorder then with a "non controlable device" and then "capture now") now, with the mac pro and fcp 6 i can't.
there are no signal to capture, what can i do?

The deck is in e/e if you can see the analog signal in the log and capture window. If you can't see it, it's probably not in e/e... keep looking, all pro decks have this function. The other thing you should be able to do is dub the source tape to the digital recorder. Make sure too the input selection on the machine is set up properly.

  • Solutions for displaying s-video signal on Macbook Pro? (2006 model)

I looking around for ways to display an s-video signal on my Macbook Pro, but i've no idea the best way to this.
I'm not really after capturing or recording the signal, but I just need a means that I can view the signal, and to be able to switch to another program running on the Macbook. (switch back and forth from Mac app to viewing s-video signal)
Ive seen a few products but they look overblown for what I really need to do like the Elgato video capture, and the xlr8 provideo usb devices.
Is there a way that I could use the DVI socket on the Macbook? I have seem its possible to display the Macbook signal on an external display using this socket, but can it be used to take an input signal?

Technical note of what I exactly need this for: I have an old Roland sampler which can be used with an external monitor to aid in its editing. The outputs on the sampler are s-video and digital RGB. So that I dont have to buy an old bulky monitor I want to use my Macbook display for this while I also am running Logic Pro 8 at the same time. And to switch from Logic, to the displayed signal from the sampler.

The DVI out on your MacBookPro cannot be used for input. In order to see the s-video signal on your MBP display you will need an analog-digital converter like the Canopus ADVC-55, plus you will need to run software. You may be able to use iChat A/V, although I haven't tried it for this purpose. It will cost you more than the Elgato eyeTV device, however.
You will find it much easier & cheaper if you just get an inexpensive LCD display to use with your Roland sampler.

  • Analog VIDEO OUT - has this been killed forever?

So, have we reached the end of the line for ANALOG VIDEO OUT on ALL devices?
Apparently, there is NO analog video out on iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPad 4th Gen, or iPhone 5th Gen - all devices with the ridiculously small 8-pin connector, which all run iOS6
Apple's sales site for the $30, 8-pin to 30-pin connector clearly says "Video not supported"
    What?
So anyone with an expensive car video system, 30-pin composite video link, home AV receiver, etc. is out of luck?
Is this a sign that Apple has rolled-over to Hollywood in advance of an Apple TV system that only transmits HDCP-style-encrypted digital TV signals?
    That would be bad
Anyone have the answer to this?  I've read here that people with 4th Gen devices (iPad 3rd Gen) running iOS6 are also being denied video since the update from iOS5 to iOS6 (which some "believe" is a "software" error in the update).
    Is that true as well?
Apple couldn't possibly be doing this on purpose to their, oh, I don't know, 100 million users of previous devices - could they?
Someone - please...reassure us there is a fix in the mix for this mess

  • What is better when converting analog video for FCE, Canopus100/110/300/or5

    All,
What is better when converting analog video for FCE, Canopus100/110/300/or500? I have a new MACPRO with FCE HD and I wanted to convert some of my older video that was recorded on a HI8 Camcorder... Thanks.

I have the ADVC-100 (older model) and ADVC-110. They are identical except that the ADVC-110 does not come with an AC power adapter. Currently sells for about $220USD. If all you need to do is convert from HI8 tapes, the ADVC100/110 will do the job quite nicely.
The ADVC300 adds some enhancements for video signal cleanup, but at a higher price. Currently sells for about $450USD. The ADVC500 is overkill for home use.

  • Audio bad: Sony analog video, RCAs into converter, firewire into PowerBook

    Using iMovie HD 5.0.2 and OS X 10.4.9 on a PowerBook G4.
Importing video from a Sony analog video camera by running an RCA cable for video and an RCA cable for audio from the Sony camera into a Formac converter. From the converter I run a FireWire line into the PowerBook. With this set-up, iMovie captures the video okay, but the audio is only a rapid buzz; sounds like a perfectly regular square wave.
I can confirm that the audio signal is being sent from the Sony camera through the converter and on into the FireWire cable by using the same hardware set-up but using Final Cut Express to capture the movie. But I don't want to work in FCE, I want to work in iMovie.
What might be going wrong with the audio capture in iMovie?
    several   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
As far as I remember, some of the Formacs (..I've never used one, but there was talk of this here..) exhibited this "chainsaw buzz" around the time that iMovie was upgraded to Version 4, I think.
(..Something to do with Formac's non-stringent interpretation of the Firewire spec, perhaps..)
Formac did post info about it on their website, and offered two kinds of upgrade; a firmware download/upgrade for some models ..which you could do yourself.. and a factory upgrade for others.
I don't know if they still offer either of these options, sorry..

  • Input Video Signal to iPad

    Hello,
I'm planning develop an App to work on business and it has to receive video signal from a DV connection (Firewire IEEE 1394).
Do you know if is this possible even with an adapter or by developing an external hardware?

It would take more than just an adapter but rather extensive circuitry to convert a Firewire signal into something the iPad could accept though the dock connector. There's a device that can input analog video:
    http://www.irecord.com/index.html
but nothing I've seen that will accept video from a Firewire device. Given that an analog converter is possible I could guess that a Firewire converter is at least feasible, but developing one would not be easy.

  • Analog Video In for iPad

    Hello,
is there any accessory allowing analog video in for the iPad? I want to show the image of a FPV camera, mounted on a RC plane, on my iPad screen. Is there any solution without converting this signal to an IP cam signal with an adapter like the Axis 214S video server and a security app like EyeSeeU or the like?
    arachnida

Thank you Johnathan for your quick answer.
The problem concerning flying FPV is that the live image must have the smallest delay as possible. Most IP cams have a delay of 1 second or more over WiFi. Delays or dropouts while controlling a flying object like a quadrokopter using an onboard camera can be dangerous, if not impossible. I guess I will have to stick to the usual video goggles or an analog battery powered video screen.

  • SD video signal into PP CS6

When recording a SD video signal via fire wire into Premiere Pro CS6,  is the video signal compressed?

    Hi Budrick,
The question is not entirely clear - are you capturing from a digital (miniDV, Digital8, etc.) source tape, or from analog source (VHS, 8mm) coming in through a Analog-to-Firewire converter? If DV source, then it is already compressed on the tape, and "capturing" via Firewire is simply transfering the video data from tape to hard drive with no additional compression. If from analog, then what Ann said.

  • Video Signal Generator RT

I want to generate an NTSC signal. I have a PXI RT, and I'd like to be able to generate the signal in Labwindows RT or Labview RT.
Can this be done with NI VMS or NI VideoMASTER?
    I tried downloading:
    http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2396/lang/en
    and
    http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2050/lang/en
But both of those software packages seem a little dated. I'm not sure they do what I want.
This thing here seems to maybe be what I want:
    http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/205449
But I don't see any reference for any APIs and whether or not it can be controlled by an RT.

    Hi Kevin,
Your links 2) and 3) refers to the same product - the VideoMASTER Analog Video Generator. This product is compiled into a dll for running on Windows and uses third party dlls for licensing and video pattern generation and as such does not support LabVIEW Real Time. It does support a LabVIEW API for non Real-Time applications in LabVIEW.
If your request represents a major opportunity for National Instruments there is a possibility to involve Systems Engineering or an Integrator to develop parts of the code into a customized solution to build into a Real -Time application.

  • Getting analog video over DVI

I have a Samsung monitor connected to my 17" Macbook Pro using the Mini-Display to DVI adapter and a DVI cable. However, I believe I'm somehow getting analog video converted to a digital signal. I believe this because:
1.) The picture is noticeably not as sharp. It looks like analog video.
2.) If I reboot in Windows (via BootCamp) I get a much sharper picture - looks like digital video
3.) When the OS X first boots up I get static on the monitor, like you get on an analog TV when you can't get the station.
Anyone have any ideas about how to tell OS X to output digital video? Do I need to install a driver for the monitor?
    Thanks.

    Hi igril,
both apps, iM and iDVD, expect signals via firewire; both apps using this standard, because a) it is more reliable then usb and b) the specs of fw allow a "generic" set of protocols to remotely control devices (a usb connected camcorder needs "drivers").
    b) 30 frames per second in realtime into 768x576 pixles plus color info plus audio with a sampling rate of 44.1Khz... just simple A/D .. ehm, well...
in the PC market you find some cheapo usb "sticks", claiming to digitize.. but with a much smaller res...
Apple decided in meaning of simplicity, convenience and quality, not to go this route...

  • I need to import a live analog RCA signal into a Macbook Air 13" model A1466 to record on Final Cut. Is this possible? If so, how?

I need to import a live analog RCA signal into a Macbook Air 13" model A1466 to record on Final Cut. Is this possible? If so, what equipment/cables do you recommend pruchasing?

If you want audio and video from your RCA cable source, you would need a converter device. One that I have used is the EyeTV Hybrid from ElGato. You attach to the Mac via USB, and can attach to RCA composite, Coax, or S-Video. You would record into the EyeTV software and later export to Final Cut for editing. This would not go live into Final Cut Pro.
