Analysing tools for KM documents

Hello,
Does anybody know, if there are any analysing tools available, with which you can analyse the access of the KM documents. They should answer questions like
- when was the last access to a documents?
- which documents have an average rating lower than x?
- how often has the documents been accessed?
The purpose is, to identify documents, which may be obsolete...

Hi Dominik,
There is not tool but you can develop it.
You can develop a filter, each time that you access a document, this statistic information should be saved in a database and then you can report.

On the other hand,
Using taxonomies, you can classify document by rating.
Also in Content Management->Report->Resource Statistics (
This report calculates statistic information on the content of KM repositories
). I know that this report it is not that you are looking for but ....

CS5 Speech Analysis Tool For Transcription, Acceptable Media Types?

Hi all,
I've been fiddling with the oh so handy, speech analysis toolin CS5 PPro, and can really see the potential for cutting down on transciption time. I spent a bit of time poking around the CS5 PPro help document, as well as tutorials via lynda.com etc. to gain a bit more insight into the file types that the speech analysis will accept and am drawing a blank other than the observations I have made doing a bit of experimenting with the feature. So far, I can not get the tool to recognize 2 of our 3 cameras, native media. Currently it will analyze only raw media shot via SDHC Class 6 cards on a JVC HGMY700 in 1080i60 format. The other two camera/media types in question are Panasonic P2 MXF files and Ikegami HDS-V10 MXF files, both are also 1080i60 format.
Is there perhaps a codec/plug-in etc. available to access the speech analysis tool with these other types of media? I have found it works well with quicktime .mov files, but I might end up spending as much time waiting to convert the file to an .mov as I would just transcribing the old fashioned way.
Any insight on how I might best utilize this tool would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
On a separate random note, if anyone has any useful info, links or otherwise, in regards to media management using CatDV and Cache-A for archive, it would also be appreciated. That's one of many projects looming...

Believe it or not, it has nothing to do with the media type--well, specifically, it doesn't have anything to do with the format or codec.
So, what's the problem? Annoyingly, Panasonic P2 structures are write-protected--that is, they're marked as "Read-only." While this isn't much of a problem in normal operation, when you try to do things like speech transcription (and other metadata entry, if I recall correctly), you'll effectively be shut out. The files in the structure are writeable, but the structure itself is not.

What to do? In Explorer, simply right-click the CONTENTS folder (you might even be able to do this at the top level, if you save your P2 offloads in that way), click Properties, and clear the Read-only checkbox in Attributes. Once the Read-only attribute is cleared, you should be able to run Speech Analysis on the P2 clips. You'll probably want to change the Read-only flag with Premiere Pro closed.
Now--that might not solve it. There seems to be a latent bug in Pr that prevents you from running Speech Analysis on a single P2 MXF clip. If this seems to be the case, try selecting two or more clips in the Project Panel, and then check to see if the Analyze button or Analyze Content menu command is available. Pretty silly, but at least its a reasonably painless workaround.

Is there any impact analysis tool for Oracle Forms and Reports

We are curretly looking at tools available to do impact analysis in Oracle Forms and Reports. This is for the maintainance of a large Oracle application developed using forms and reports 10g. We use Oracle Designer but only to maintain the db structure and not for forms and reports generation. Our intension is to find out the impact of db model changes, stored procedure changes in Oracle Forms and Reports. Please suggest any tools that are currently used for this purpose.
I remember manually maintaining the CRUD matrix for Oracle Forms and Reports for maintainance purpose. CRUD matrix will have the list of all the tables which are affected by the module. But this is a manual activity and hence the responsibility is with the dev team to keep the document updated. Please suggest if there is any alternative to this way which can be more effecient and less error prone...
I also wonder how these are done in Oracle ERP? how the apps team in oracle is maintaining the forms and reports?

Quest (the makers of TOAD) have a tool called SQL Impact which gathers data from forms, reports, triggers, packages etc.
FormsMate is a simple, cheap alternative for comparing or searching in forms.

Alternatively, you can export forms to xml (with iff2xml90.bat) and reports to jsp (with rwconverter) and simply grep those and your sql scripts. There are grep tools for windows if you need.

Source code analysis tools for ActionScript 2?

I have been tasked with performing source code analysis on a very large (>1000 files) AS2 codebase.
Not surprisingly, Googling is not yielding useful results. Before declaring defeat, I felt it important to query this forum.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

We'd like to evaluate the hundreds of files using a static analysis tool, just as one would use lint for a C codebase.

Tools for marking documents are disabled

The common markup tools are not activated for use and when I click the box for those tools, they do not work.
This note shows up at the bottom, "Only available when document rights are enabled"
I understand what this means and the spirit behind it makes some sense. I assume that an author would prefer that thier document was not edited and published easily by a second party.
The part of this that makes little sense is if I am a student and, the document is a textbook. Why shouldn't I be able to use it just like a paper text book? You remember, highlight, tab, make notes, etc..
Seems to me that these type tools would be quite harmless to most authors and publishers and I would think they would like students to use them in this way. I would think that is how they used their books when they were in school. I would also go so far as to say that not having these tools active could have a negative impact on Adobe if another company did have these tools available. With that in mind, it is hard for me to believe there isn't some simple button, or change in preferences that would allow me to use these tools.
I can say that I have had one book that did have these available and the tools were very useful and made the class and the textbook much more userfriendly in the end.
Is there somway these tools can be made available other than approaching every single text book company for 2 to 6 books every class?

Reporting and analysis tools for Designer ES XML form responses

What are recommended applications or tools to use in order to analyze the XML responses from Livecycle Designer forms?
I am currently using Excel and find it cumbersome and requires a lot of repitition in order to import the individual files.
Any suggestions, besides purchasing the server product?

Without going down the server route, have you tried using Acrobat.com to distribute the form? It gives some reasonable tools:
Also if you open Acrobat and go to the Forms > Manage Form Data menu, you can select 'Merge data files into spreadsheet'.
I haven't used any third party tools to deal specifically with XML and Excel.

Indices configuration for XML document analysis (indexing time problems)

Hi all,
I'm currently developing a tool for XML Document analysis using XQuery. We have a need to analyse the content of a large CMS dump, so I am adding all documents to a berkeley DB xml to be able to run xqueries against it.
In my last run I've been running to indexing speed problems, with single documents (typically 10-20 K in size) taking around 20 sec to be added to the database after 6000 documents (I've got around 20000 in total). The time needed for adding docs to the database drops with the number of documents.
I suspect my index configuration to be the reason for this performance drop. Indeed, I've been very generous with indexes, as we have to analyse the data and don't know the structure in advance.
Currently my index configuration includes:
- 2 default indicess: edge-element-presence-none and edge-attribute-presence-none to be able to speed up every possible xquery to analyse data patterns: ex. collection()//table//p[contains(.,'help')]
- 8 edge-attribute-substring-string indices on attributes we use often (id, value, name, ...)
- 1 edge-element-substring-string index on the root element of the xml documents to be able to speed up document searches: ex. collection()//page[contains(.,'help')]
So here my questions:
- Are there any possible performance optimisations in Database config (not index config)? I only set the following:
setTransactional(false);
envConf.setCacheSize(1024*64);
envConf.setCacheMax(1024*256);
- How can I test various index configuration on the fly? Are there any db tools that allow to set/remove indexes?
- Is my index config suspect? ;-)

Hi Nils,
The edge-element-substring-string index on the document element is almost certainly the cause of the slow document inserts - that's really not a good idea. Substring indexes are used to optimize "=", contains(), starts-with() and ends-with() when they are applied to the named element that has the substring index, so I don't think that index will do what you want it to.

I have to create a Age analysis report for FI documents
which have line items with posting key 75 & 70 (Asset)
Given logic is
1 Selection screen has parameters - Company code, Key date
2 Need to take all line items with posting key 70 & 75
(BSEG-BSCHL = 70 or 75)
Layout of report is
Asset no       0-30 31-60      61-90      91-120 . 151-360 (days)
80000003     2000.00    3000.00    1000.00   4000.00    7000.0
80000006     1000.00    5000.00     300.00    5000.00    4000.0
Local curency amount should be categorised under the days
diferences between key date (selection screen) & posting date
of the accounting document.
My problem is,
Posting date of the document is not in the BSEG table. It is
in the BKPF table.Therefore I have to extract all FI documents(Not only documents with posting key 75 or 70) within 360 days from Key date in BKPF the table.
I cannot join BSEG & BKPF. Because, BSEG table is a cluster table.
Can you please tell me the way how can i extract the data for this report with out any performance issues.

Great idea, but I dont think it is going to work.
The 1st problem should be, how do you work out the key date... You will need some good code for that.
Have a look at the customer aged debt reports for some help.
After that, if you just want asset documents, do they have their own unique document type, if so, you could use the doc type from BKPF to reduce the number you want to select in BSEG.
Have you looked at any of the standard Asset dep reports, perhaps there is something there you could use.

Solaris Crash Analysis Tool available any more?

I'm trying to locate the Solaris Crash Analysis Tool v.5.2. Is it even available any more? I tried dl'ing the Oracle Services Tools Bundle (STB) v.6.0 but that didn't contain SUNWscat. Any ideas? If it's not available I'd appreciate confirmation that it isn't...

Snipping tool for pdf files

Although I can easily use snipping tool for word documents I cannot find the way to use snipping tool for pdf files because pdf files appear in a full screen and the taskbar does not exist - as well as the snipping tool which I have already pinned
in taskbar. How do I reveal it?

You can try to use Windows key + PrnScrn keys to capture the screen.
And the images will be saved under c:\[user]\Pictures\Screenshots automatically.

Configuring Viewer for IPM documents in BPEL

Hi,
I am trying to integrate IPM with UCM and BPEL. The tasks i need to perform is
1) Upload documents through IPM
2) Add annotations to the document in IPM
3) Push the documents into BPEL workflow
4) View the documents from BPEL workflow along with annotations.
While I am able to upload the document in IPM , add annotations and push it into BPEL workflow, I am not able to configure the viewer tool for the document in BPEL.
The tasks i performed to setup the viewer are
Created a view in BPEL workflow system
Entries in IPM- AXF tables using the scripts similar to invoice processing with the view name like
Insert into AXF_SOLUTION_PARAMETERS (SOLUTION_NAMESPACE,COMMAND_NAMESPACE,CONFIGURATION_NAMESPACE,PARAMETER_KEY,PARAMETER_VALUE)
values (‘DocumentApprovalWorkflow’,'StartDocumentApprovalWorkflowProcessing','oracle.imaging.axf.web.backing.TaskList','VIEW_LIST','youeviewname');
Updated my BPEL connection as
Insert into AXF_SOLUTION_ATTRIBUTES (SOLUTION_NAMESPACE,PARAMETER_KEY,PARAMETER_VALUE)
values ('AttachInvoiceImageOnly','BPEL_CONNECTION','yourbpelconnection');
Run all the scripts with changes i mentioned above.
And when i try to run http://localhost:16000/imaging/faces/Driver.jspx page with the required parameters, it throws the following exception

I have followed all the steps to check whether AXF installed properly or not.It's working fine.
But In CommandAuthenticatorFacade.jsp when i click the link button(*ViewTask*) for a task generated from BPEL,i got a message as*There are no documents present in document viewer*.
Can u tell me how to proceed.
