Analyzer 5.0.3 web client - large deployment

Has anyone deployed Analyzer 5.0.3 web client to a large population. We have over 100 users - it could go as high as 1400 in the future. When adding a new Essbase cube (we are using Essbase 6.1 p2), we have to add the new cube to each individual user id, then click properties of the cube and type in the users essbase user id, password, and confirm password. We use option 3 in this dialog box because the Analyzer web client users do not have the Essbase client on their desktop. They initially change their Analyzer password, but their Essbase password stays the same permanently. This whole process of adding a cube is very time consuming and basically a long typing exercise. If we deploy the Analyzer web client to our entire company, it will be a nightmare to add a cube. I want to know how other companies are handling this situation.

Try using the UsrUtil.exe. Check the docs on it, then build a text file (.cmd) containing the scripted user accounts you wish to create. I had all the users and user info entered into an oracle table first, then ran a short Java app over it to extract the user information, building the .cmd file that was run to create all the new users. for about 1000 users, it took about 10 minutes.robb

  • Drill Through in Analyzer 5.0.3 Web Client

    I have an EIS created Essbase cube with drill through reports. I can access the reports using the Excel add-in and via the Analyzer Windows client and they work as expected. In the Analyzer Web client, I see the LRO indicator, but when I click on the cell I get "Cell ___ cannot be drilled on". Does the Web client support drill through, and is there additional configuration necessary to make it work?Thanks,Jim Burnham

    I didn't have the Essbase setting of "Use Grid API" turned on for the user I was testing with.Jim

  • Analyzer release 5 web client

    I have a problem deploying web client version for Analyzer release 5 on IE. Do we need any settings to make sure it works on every machine running Win2K? The error that I have found is 'wired not found...'. Anybody has experience this such thing before? Thanks in advanced.Good day!

    You shouldn't need the runtime client for Web access, in my experience. Are you trying to use the html client or the java client?Are you only having problems with Win2k machines? If so, what platform is it working on?Release 5 uses the Java Virtual Machine plugin, which can cause problems on machines with the Java Runtime Environment installed. Could that be the problem?So many possibilities for problems. Of course, you can always upgrade to version 6 or 7, and open up whole new realms of problems. :-)

  • Long time to start Java Web Client (Analyzer 6.2.1)??

    Does anyone know why Analyzer(6.2.1) takes a long time to start Java Web Client. Sometime it's even take more than 5 minutes. I think it is the Java Plug-in starting on the client computer. Any solution?

    The key to Analyzer 6.2.1 running correctly is the version of Sun Java Plugin. The ideal version (most optimal) is 1.3.0_02.Secondary to this if Analyzer performs OK once you are logged in then it could be down to the speed of your connection. The applet compiles at runtime (unlike Analyzer 5 which was a one time download). The delay in getting to the login screen could be this download.Hope this helps.Paul ArmitageAnalitica Ltd.www.analitica.co.uk

    Hi,
    IC Webclient is a BSP based Application.
    Activate the Correspondending Nodes in TA SCIF and you can use the IC WebClient. See also SPRO SolMan -> Config -> scenario specific -> Service Desk -> ICWebClient.

    the reason for my problems).
    This seems significant (though I am an absolute

    possible that the file
    dukesbank-war\src\conf\persistence.xml mistakenly
    was not included in the zipped source code file?You can ignore that warning message. It's part of the BluePrints build system, which checks to see if you have persistence.xml in your WAR so it can package it. The persistence unit is in in the EJB JAR for Duke's Bank:
    javaeetutorial5/examples/dukesbank/dukesbank-ejb/src/conf/persistence.xml
    First of all the manual says the url is
    http://localhost:1189/dukesbank/main.faces
    but the url that works is
    http://localhost:1189/dukesbank-war/main.faces
    Is that just a small inaccuracy in the manual, or
    there is more to it? Actually, in "Running the Web Client" the page is:
    http://localhost:8080/bank/main.faces
    So in your case it should be:
    http://localhost:1189/bank/main.faces
    Try that URL instead, and see if you get the same error.

  • Hyperion Analyzer 5.03 web client

    I have an problem on using Hyperion Analyzer 5.03 web client. When I connect on the hyperion via analyzer web client after analyzer newly install on web server it work OK. However, after few days I connect it again. I able to login but no option for me to create a new spreadsheet/chart.It work again when I reboot the web server. Please advise how to avoid it to happen. Do I need to schedule a reboot on every mid-night?ThanksLouis

    You can log into Analzyer still? Just no menu options? Other than still being able to log in, it sounds like the common problem with the BDE/ODBC connection needing to be re-established. I know that in the various client cases I have dealt with where the clients are using an Enterprise repository, and if the RDMS they are using is brought "down" that the bde/odbc connection that the Analyzer Analysis Server has established needs to be renewed.In the case I have described above, all you need to do is stop and re-start the Analyzer Analysis Service. (In some cases I have created a batch file that is fired off by a scheduler to do this daily) Hope that helps some.

  • URGENT **** Need help for JAX-RPC Web Service Proxy deploy to OC4J 10.1.3.5

    Hi everyone!
    I’m really new to web services.
    I’m getting a *500 internal server error* while deploying my JAX-RPC web service Proxy to an Oracle AS, in an OC4J, v. 10.1.3.5.0.
    Running my client from my development environment (*jdeveloper 10g, 10.1.3.5.0*) everything functions correctly: from jdeveloper I can contact and use the web service defined by the following endpoint: https://www.medialibrary.it/services/federaMLOL.asmx?WSDL
    I created a "try_ws_client.jsp" file that runs correctly from my local development environment jdeveloper (that uses an embedded oc4j, v. 10.1.3.5.0) but fails when run from the test server (Oracle AS, in an OC4J, v. 10.1.3.5.0), getting, as I mentioned a 500 internal server error, a white page in IE but with FF the message says: The’s an error in the servlet .....
    Here's how I created the ws proxy and how I’m using it to consume the ws I mentioned.
    1. I used the jdeveloper “Create Web Service Proxy” wizard (File > New > Business Tier > Web Services > Web Service Prox) and in the WSDL document URL I put: https://www.medialibrary.it/services/federaMLOL.asmx?WSDL
    2. The operation ended without adding nothing to the web.xml file and creating the proxy files. One of them is: FederaMLOLSoapClient.java that have the WS exposed methods (es: public boolean createUser(String) ) + a “main” method with the example how to use this client to consume the WS.
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    it.reggiocity.provincia.mlol.proxy.FederaMLOLSoapClient myPort = new it.reggiocity.provincia.mlol.proxy.FederaMLOLSoapClient();
    System.out.println("calling " + myPort.getEndpoint());
    // Add your own code here
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    3. In FederaMLOLSoapClient.java I’ve create the method "tyIt":
    public String tryIt(String username) {
    try {
    it.reggiocity.provincia.mlol.proxy.FederaMLOLSoapClient myPort = new it.reggiocity.provincia.mlol.proxy.FederaMLOLSoapClient();
    if(myPort.createUser(String username)) {
    return “O.K”;
    } else {
    return “K.O”;
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    // logs error
    4. I created my try_ws_client.jsp file that creates FederaMLOLSoapClient object and calls the tryIt method, printing the “OK” or “KO” message.
    <%@ page import="it.reggiocity.provincia.biblioreggiane.*"%>
    <%
    String message = "";
    FederaMLOLSoapClient obj= new FederaMLOLSoapClient( );
    message = obj.tryIt(“AAAAAA70R10H226H”);
    %>
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"%>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"/>
    <title>prova</title>
    </head>
    <body><%=message%></body>
    </html>
    The situation is:
    My try_ws_client.jsp runs correctly from my jdeveloper and the user is created while creating app.ear and deploying it to my Oracle AS/OC4J as mentioned above, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.
    Any idea to find a solution to this problem?
    Please help.
    Take care.

    Hi,
    you want to build the Web Service, or you want to consume the Service as a client? If the latter, Web client (ADF?) or Java client?

  • Can someone assist in determining source of Error in FMS Web Client 5.01a (Backup)

    I am unable to find something that points to the source of an error seen in the Backup tab of my FMS Web Client.
    I am using OracleXE with FMS 5.01a (switch firmware is 4.2.3)
    I am trying to backup the running config to my TFTP host (defined as my FMS host via ip address).
    I see the following error in my FMServer.log file  - ** 2010.08.19 18:52:46  ERROR [FM.web] com.cisco.dcbu.web.client.admin.ConfigSchedulerAction perform() Scheduling failed! Couldn't store trigger: ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column **
    I can not find very much info on the 5.01a version of FMS web client, specific to the Backup tab. The documentation I did find shows a "Config-file" tab version a "Backup" tab. Any response would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ed

    I just got our FMS 5.0.1a up and running today with the same backup configuration schedule.  Only differences are that we're using Postgresql 8.2 and our 9513 switches are on NX-OS 4.1.3a (for now) and our 9222i's are on NX-OS 4.1.1b (for now).  Our 9513 configuration files are 180k and I ran a test this morning with no issues.  I ran into an issue about 2 weeks ago when we had a user who had created their own SSH key that exceeed the standard line limit.  Once I removed this user from doing this (so they could jump on the switches without a password) our issue went away.  I'm not saying this is it but it sounds to close to not pass along.  Any chance you have user(s) with defined SSH keys?

  • Web Client too Old

    HI Gentlemen,
    I installed on my XP machine Oracle Forms & Reports Services from 10g AS to regularly deploy my forms and reports. Since then, I get a message like "Web Client too Old" and the application does not start. Earlier it was simply deployed using 9iDS, however, it was highly unstable and I had a lot of problems with printing. However, by starting OC4J Instance ahead brought a relatively stable execution environment.
    My question is: Where can I be wrong? Do I have to go thru the whole 10g AS doc to find out how to launch a simple application? This would be terrible. Can you suggest a workaround to gain time?
    Thanks, kind regards from
    Miklos HERBOLY

    HI Frank,
    Thank you very much. Another important thing: 1. When I earlier only installed 9iDS, it created a program group "Oracle 9iAS" as well and placed some programs into it. Do I still have to install Forms and Reports Services FROM AS, a very big package of about 500 MB unzipped on every client in order to get access to the application via the URL? Or is it enough to install OC4J Instance?
    2. With ONLY 9iDS I also configured (perhaps) Forms Services by editing formsweb.cfg etc. Did I thereby deploy using AS implicitly or was it a non-recommended DS deployment? How can I deploy "USING" AS? When editing those files it is completely transparent to me if I have AS or not! And I could not start 10g AS by emctl start, because it always complained about an invalid argument and accepted nothing!
    So I ame completely jammed, and the doc is unbelievably huge to go thru.
    Thanks, kind regards from
    Miklos HERBOLY

  • WEB CLIENT in Dukes Bank Application

    Hi, I have a problem with running the WEB CLIENT in Dukes Bank Application.
    First about the VERSIONs:
    I downloaded
    "The Java EE 5 Tutorial" For Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9, dated: June 16 2006
    The source for the tutorial examples is obtained from the above mentioned "The Java EE 5 Tutorial" online, when on that page click on "Download". The downloaded file is
    javaee-5-doc-tutorial-1[1].0_01.
    I am running Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0 (build b48).
    I am referring to what happens when I follow the instructions on pages 1209-1213 of the manual
    After you have read the description of the problem, please see below for output from running:
    ant create-tables
    ant
    ant deploy
    which I did according to the tutorial. Also I created the users according to the tutorial.
    As you can see below,
    ant reported dukesbank-war\src\conf\persistence.xml missing
    Could someone please explain why (and whether that is the reason for my problems).
    This seems significant (though I am an absolute beginner in J2EE and may be wrong). Would it be possible that the file dukesbank-war\src\conf\persistence.xml mistakenly was not included in the zipped source code file?
    APPLICATION CLIENT it would seem runs okay. I could log on as bankadmin, create a new customer.
    WEB CLIENT
    First of all the manual says the url is
    http://localhost:1189/dukesbank/main.faces
    but the url that works is
    http://localhost:1189/dukesbank-war/main.faces
    Is that just a small inaccuracy in the manual, or there is more to it?
    Now for the problem:
    I do get the page Please enter your customer ID and password and click Submit
    If I enter the user 200 (the one created as per the tutorial), I get:
    HTTP Status 403 - Access to the requested resource has been denied
    type Status report
    message Access to the requested resource has been denied
    description Access to the specified resource (Access to the requested resource has been denied) has been forbidden.
    Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0
    However, if I enter a non-existing user I get the page dukesbank-war/j_security_check which tells me:
    Please check your customer ID and password.
    . Which is of course a correct response. (I would get the same response with the correct user 200 but incorrect password, which also makes sense)
    So, what is the problem when I use a correct user name and password, why can't I proceed?

    So please do try this all and respond. If you have ever got Duke's Bank WEB CLIENT going on any other version of j2EE tutorial or application server please let me know too, I am happy to go to a previous version!

    As you can see below,
    ant reported dukesbank-war\src\conf\persistence.xml
    missing
    Could someone please explain why (and whether that is
    the reason for my problems).
    This seems significant (though I am an absolute
    beginner in J2EE and may be wrong). Would it be
    possible that the file
    dukesbank-war\src\conf\persistence.xml mistakenly
    was not included in the zipped source code file?You can ignore that warning message. It's part of the BluePrints build system, which checks to see if you have persistence.xml in your WAR so it can package it. The persistence unit is in in the EJB JAR for Duke's Bank:
    javaeetutorial5/examples/dukesbank/dukesbank-ejb/src/conf/persistence.xml
    First of all the manual says the url is
    http://localhost:1189/dukesbank/main.faces
    but the url that works is
    http://localhost:1189/dukesbank-war/main.faces
    Is that just a small inaccuracy in the manual, or
    there is more to it? Actually, in "Running the Web Client" the page is:
    http://localhost:8080/bank/main.faces
    So in your case it should be:
    http://localhost:1189/bank/main.faces
    Try that URL instead, and see if you get the same error.

  • Converter Web Client: get compiler error when run URL

    When I try to run the Converter's web client with the the URL:
    http://localhost:8000/converter
    I got a compiler error on the lines:
    import Converter;

    The J2EE server wants to have a "." after the Converter and ConverterHome.
    Any one has any idea?

    I have exactly the same error.
    Me too, I'm running on Win XP. And I have had lots of trouble to deploy the converter.
    I cannot install J2EE 1.3 as I am supposed to write a report on how Web Services may help my company. By the moment I can only say it takes me much more time than expected to run the J2EE 1.3 tutorial. As SUN didn't deliver a tutorial one can use.
    So by the moment if anyone can HELP me to finish this converter tutorial I will be thankful.

  • How to execute web applications without deploying them?

    How can I execute web applications without deploying them (without mentioning them in the server.xml)?
    I have an IWS 6.1 SP1 installed with default parameters (JES). I would like that a posix user could execute his own web application without administrator collaboration.
    Does it exist some sort of "autodeploy" like in tomcat?
    (I know about the invoker mapping in default-web.xml, just I don't realy understand what does it eventuate. I tried to unzip webapps-simple.war in the directory $IWS_SERVER_HOME/webapps/$instance_name/servlet/tmp/
    but the http://a.a.tg/servlet/tmp request failed:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: WEB2784: Wrapper cannot find servlet class tmp or a class it depends on
    ----- Root Cause -----
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: tmp
    How can I solve this? Users should have write permission to the directories in the classpath to put their servlet.class files into? Bad idea...
    (I tried to "execute" the $IWS_SERVER_HOME/plugins/java/samples/webapps/simple/webapps-simple.war)
    (Sorry for my language skills)

    Do as many of the rest of us do, until this behavior is changed (if ever). Eport your WEb gallery to your Hd and use an FTP client, there are so many, including Drreamweaver's, and Shareware ones, and upload just the relevant files/folders. Some can even check and do this for you.
