Anamorphic or not for YouTube videos

Hello,
I am editing a few old videos from a DVD I have. I saw that when creating a new project in Final Cut Pro X I have the option to choose a resolution of 720x576 or a 720x576 Anamorphic. I know that anamorphic 4:3 video when played to a widescreen tv is better but the videos I am working at will be going to YouTube. So the question is will I benefit in working with an anamorphic resolution within my project or not ?

Depends on whether the DVD was anamorphic (and displayed as 16:9). Check the aspect ratio in the project, If the DVD were 4:3, and you exported at 16:9, it would be distorted.
YT will show an uploaded 4:3 movie as pillarboxed in a 16:9 frame.

Answers in this forum have shown different things have worked for different people.
For some clearing YouTube cookies and the cache solved the problem. For details of how to do that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Deleting+cookies and https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache
Others had to go a step further after deleting YouTube cookies and block YouTube from saving cookies. In the Tools menu select Options to open the Options window. Go to the Privacy panel and make sure it is set to "Use custom setting for history". Click the Exceptions button, type in http://www.youtube.com and click on Block
Another option is to disable hardware acceleration for Flash. To do that right-click on a Flash video, select Settings, go to the first tab of the settings for the option to enable/disable hardware acceleration for Flash. I found on an other post more informations. The problems is in OS X since Yosemite 10.10.1 it doesn't work, we will have to wait for a new Update form apple (10.10.2) to resolve that issue.

N8 not playing youtube videos. Why?

hey all,
heres the problem.. my n8 is not playing youtube videos when i select to play it with standard video player option at m.youtube.com it takes me to the video player but shows nothings but only LOADING ...
however when i chose to play the video using flash player beta .. browser plays it smooth ..
my question is why my video player is not playing them ?????

Things to try:
1. Uninstall and reinstall the Youtube downloader.
Restart your phone
1. Press and hold the power button until the phone vibrates and switches off.
2. Switch your phone on again.
Reset the settings
Restore the original factory settings (Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone management > Factory settings > Restore). This reset will not delete any data on your phone it will just restore the settings back to default state.
Update the software
Make sure your phone is running the latest software. Use Nokia Suite to update or reinstall the phone software.

Flash player 11.8 does not play YouTube video Windows 7 Enterprise

Since I spent days troubleshooting this, I thought I might save others the same.
Environment:
windows 7 enterprise 32 bit (System meets requirements for flash player)
Workstation part of an AD Domain
Occurs on all workstations
Using a proxy to access the internet (this is not the problem as chrome works fine and HTML5 works fine)
Flash Player 11.8
Browsers: IE 8, IE9, IE10, FireFox, Chrome
Chrome plays videos fine
HTML5 Player plays fine in all browsers
IE8, 9, and 10 do not play videos; it starts to play then loops then dies with youtube error message
FireFox does not play youtube videos same as IE
I tried all solutions found on the internet, adjusting browser settings or uninstalling and reinstalling flash none of it worked.

Chrome has its own embedded Flash Player - the installed version DOESN'T affect it.
HTML5 DOESN'T use Flash (It's MP4 or webm)
Download the Flash Player uninstaller. Flash Player uninstaller
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
SAVE all files.
On each workstation:
Run the uninstaller to remove both ActiveX and regular Flash Player.
Reboot and then run the installers to replace both plugins.

i can not open youtube videos on my macbook pro, it says "this video is currently unavailable" in every video I open

I had the same problem when I first got my macbook retina. I downloaded adobe flash and shockwave and I've been able to play YouTube videos ever since. They are free downloads off the adobe.com website.

IPad 2 Mute button does not mute youTube videos or games

I noticed iPad mute button does not mute youTube videos or games. When the button is set to mute, videos or games have their own sound so I have to adjust it manually only after I can hear the sound.
Any suggestions on how to mute all sounds at once?

Muting is meant to mute the system sounds like the phone ring and text message notification, it won't mute music or video or games. Use the volume control to turn the audio down.

In my opinion the 720p-30 is good enough for Youtube.

Firefox is not loading Youtube videos as of 3/17/11. I've seen other threads about this but none of the advice works for me.

I have been seeing this problem in a LOT of forums from Youtube forums to these forums to Flash forums and on. Just recently, in the last couple of weeks, I can hear Youtube videos but not see them. Any suggestions!? This is truly annoying.

UPDATE: Okay, just installed the 7.0.4 updated, and a lot of my notes have returned. HOWEVER there are still a lot that haven't... By deleting the gmail related ones, have I felted all these missing notes permanently? What's happened to them? Still need help please :/

Safari Does Not Play Youtube Videos

Hi,
I updated safari to the latest version (6.1.2) on my MacBook Pro (10.7.5) and now it does not play any Youtube videos at all. All I get is a black space instead of a video - neither video nor audio.
Does anyone know how to resolve the issue?

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Follow the prompts. Quit Safari.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
    Enable it.
    Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.
3. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.

    At the bottom left of the page uncheck the box beside
   "You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
4. Reset Safari.
    Click Safari in the menu bar.
    From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
    Uncheck the boxes beside all items.
    Check the box beside "Remove all website data".
    Click "Reset".
5. Turn off Extensions, if any.
    Safari > Preferences > Extensions
     Now try YouTube.

You may be able to find a more recent version of SeaMonkey-PPC, that could support the last Flash player for Leopard 10.5.8 from the Adobe flash archive downloads. Another browser that works OK is iCab, it will run in demo mode with few restrictions, or pay and get a license.
TenFourFox browser is a good build, but has flash and java turned off by default, so you'd have to reconfigure it for them to work. They'd use whatever versions were last supported or available for your vintage OS X.
Some of the video content in Youtube could be Flash
and other authored content may use HTML5.

Omniweb is not playing Youtube videos

Hi:
I have an iBook G4 running 10.5.6 and I'm using Omniweb 5.11.2 as my browser. Up until yesterday everything was fine. Then I logged on to Youtube and Omniweb wouldn't play any of the videos. Youtube still runs fine on my old Camino browser however. Any ideas on what might be wrong? The only thing I've changed lately is that I installed an extra gig of RAM. But Omniweb worked fine on Youtube after that until recently.

39L4300U TV will not play Youtube videos

Just hooked up the so called Smart TV a couple of weeks ago. Not impressed. It has cost me $75 so far for tech service which bty, in not refundable inspit of what they tell you before you pay. If at the end of your 16 days and you still have a problem, to bad.
Can anyone here tell me how to get this TV toplay a Youtube video? I've already done the recent firmware upgrade, no luck.

Is the problem only experienced by one computer or all devices are experiencing the same thing? Since it's working fine directly to the modem, it must really be on the router. Try to upgrade the firmware of the router. Once the upgrade is done, reset the router and reconfigure the settings.
