Anchor Hyperlinks in Animate

Hi,
I know that with Open URL action I can jump to another page in the same window. But I am trying to make a button in Edge Animate that points to a regular HTML anchor destination, like just "#section3" or something.
I tried with regular JS window.location and location.href but it didn't work
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Elaine
Yes, kind of. When I use those methods and I just export to HTML, it works fine and the URL I see in the address bar is that one ended with the #whatever anchor.
But I am including several OAMs inside the same long web page inside Dreamweaver for convenience. Then, the same button with the same code becomess non-responsive...
Thanks for your interest,

    They seem to be a lot of extra work, and I don't see what the additional benefit is. I have several hundred links to do. I would appreciate learning what the benefit is, as I don't mind the extra effort if it will deliver the desired results.

  • Named Anchor Hyperlink Problem

    Has anyone used "named anchor hyperlinks" or bookmarks to jump from one location to another on the same page? (Portal version 9.0.4)
    Go There!
    ...jumps to....
    <a name="gothere"></a>
    There's a <base href="http://hostname:port/pls/portal"> tag in the head of every portal page which screws these links up. Any workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Wayne

    I've used this method:
    in edit page mode, reach your portlet, clink on edit defaultas link on its right and as display name use
    <a name="xyz">Display_name</a>
    Then take the address of the page
    http://servername/servlet/page?_pageid=NNN,MMM,624&_dad=portal30&_schema=portla30#XYZ
    adding #xyz at the end of the link.
    This is my experience, it works.

  • Named anchor hyperlinks error

    Pages '09 (and apparently '08 per http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9989290) has an annoying error that hasn't been fixed in over a year and just wasted a lot of my time figuring out. As noted on that earlier thread (now archived, so I couldn't add to it), if you enter a URL that includes a named anchor, the # sign gets changed to a space (or %23) and causes horrendous rendering when the user clicks. The workaround is to enter the URL as text and choose “enable as hyperlink” in the Inspector. That creates the right hyperlink and you can then change the text to what you want. That this hasn’t been fixed in over a year is not what I expect from Apple. Hopefully someone is listening.

    I just discovered another quirk in Pages but can't figure out what sets it off. Text character/paragraph highlighting simply refuses to set in particular bits of text, then later for no reason suddenly works again.
    I am seriously thinking about setting up my own blog to keep track of all the bizarre bugs/UI "features" I keep finding in OSX and its applications as well as Pages.
    Ennui tends to creep in though, in all the time I've known Apple, which is a very long time, they've never paid the slightest bit of interest in what I as a user think or have discovered.

  • Anchor/hyperlink problem

    I created a file in a grad course two years ago using DW MX
    2004. It was part of a webquest, and I am finalizing it for my
    final master's project, along with the rest of my site. In tweaking
    the page, I discovered that the top of the page was moving slightly
    between pages, and the only correction was to recreate the top of
    the page and copy the info into the new page (using DW MX, NOT
    2004). I have many anchors on this page - 6 going down the page to
    the 6 tasks, and Top to return to the top of the page on each Task.
    This all works in the original file on IE and Firefox, but
    with the new file in IE, the Top link does not work. It does work
    in Firefox.
    I am frustrated, the code looks the same. A web design
    teacher friend told me something about version IE6.0 and above ,
    but I can't discover where to find that info.
    I'm enclosing both links - if you can look and decipher, I
    would be most appreciative.
    This link works perfectly:
    http://www.geocities.com/jeiserudhs/Process.htm
    This one works in Firefox, but the Top links don't work in
    Explorer 6.0:
    http://student.arcadia.edu/webclass/ed566c/jeiser/eiser_website/car_purchase_web_quest/Pro cess.htm
    Thanks again!
    Jonna

    I could really use advanced help on this, if anyone has a
    solution. I'll try to explain it more clearly, in case my
    explanation was incomplete.
    I created this HTML file using Dreamweaver MX 2004, and the
    anchors to the Top of the page work perfectly. You can view it
    here:
    http://www.geocities.com/jeiserudhs/Process.htm
    The navigation bar and banner, however, did not line up on
    the different pages of my webquest, of which the Process file is a
    part of. So I re-created the file, using Dreamweaver MX (NOT 2004)
    and used a different method on the table that I created. I then
    copied the code from the old file to the new file. Now the problem.
    In Firefox, the Top hyperlinks work correctly. However, in
    IE6.0, the hyperlinks do NOT work. They don't link to the top of
    the page. The code looks the same to me, but I have noticed very
    subtle differences in how MX and MX2004 save a background image,
    but I can't find this problem.
    My final try was to go to my college computer and re-create
    the file using MX2004 - this ALSO didn't work.
    I hope someone can give me the insight on this, as I was
    graded and received an A, but that isn't the point - I want it to
    work in IE AND in Firefox.
    The problem file can be viewed at:
    http://student.arcadia.edu/ed566c/jeiser/eiser_website/car_purchase_web_quest/Process.htm
    Thank you so much for looking at this. You can also email me.

  • Opening Hyperlinked Cross-References in non-editable XtextEditor

    Hi,
    I have cross-references in my grammar definition and Xtext Editor creates Hyperlinks for the tokens corresponding to these cross-references. I have some references to elements in other resources. When I use CTRL-click on these tokens then the referenced resource is opened in Xtext Editor but the Xtext Editor is editable. I want to make it non-editable or read-only so that I do not modify these referred elements in other resources.
    I need to make XtextEditor non-editable only when I use Hyperlink to open elements present in other resources otherwise it should be editable.
    I would appreciate any help or suggestions in achieving this.
    Xtext Hyperlinking Reference:

    Thanks.

    I saw the entry in your issue tracker and what you are asking for is actually not the real description of your problem.
    Of course user-written models should be editable, no matter how I open them (either double clicking or through navigation). Anything else would be confusing.
    Your real problem is that models from your standard library are also opened in a writable editor. By default, Xtext will open models from the classpath in a read-only editor. So I suspect some faulty customization in your code base.

  • Cross reference to an image on textless pages

    My InDesign project has pages with only graphics on some pages, or even a single image across two pages. I'd like to reference them for two purposes-
    to build a list of plates - could be file name and page number as a starting point.
    to reference in explanitory text, eg "See earlier work X on page 22 and Z on pages 10-11"
    I can't figure out how to associate a marker with an image. I seem to have to create an empty text box as a child of the graphic and insert a text anchor if I want to insert a cross reference to that graphic elsewhere. It's a bit cludgy and I don't really know what to do with the graphics that span pages, or how to generate a list of plates when I'm done- I imagine I should be using the index tool, but then, will I have to create both an index and a text anchor? Or can a cross-reference link to a page reference created in the index tool, instead of a to text anchor/hyperlink destination? Or is there a way to index and cross reference non-text objects?
    I'm using CS5 version of InDesign.

    See http://forums.adobe.com/message/2614941 where this is discussed.
    Hope that helps

  • [AS] How to make cross reference at insertion point

    Hi,
    I have a book ("indb") including several documents with several "anchors"
    (german translation: "Textanker") where cross references from different documents are linked to.
    What I already got is to reference all anchors and collect them in a list.
    Now I would like to make a new cross reference at the insertion point
    in a text frame of the active document - can't get it to run :-(
    Is anybody out there who can post a AS-sample doing this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Here is the reference to an already existing anchor:
    {hyperlink text destination id 44155 of document "kapitel 2.indd" of application "Adobe InDesign CS4"}
    The code I tried to make a new cross reference looks like this - but of course doesn't work:
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS4"
    tell active document
    make new hyperlink with properties {name:"new hyperlink", destination:hyperlink text destination id 44155 of document "kapitel 2.indd"}
    end tell
    end tell

    Thanks a lot - got it now!
    Maybe it could be helpful for others to look at your answer
    with the placeholders replaced by "real" strings as it was hard for me
    to figure out the right form:
    tell document 1
    set theDest to make hyperlink text destination with properties {name:"Some name", destination text:<a reference to the relevant text>}
    this line for example looks like this =>
    set theDest to make hyperlink text destination with properties {name:"Some name", destination text:insertion point 902 of story id 44083 of document "kapitel 3.indd" of application "Adobe InDesign CS4"}
    set theSource to make cross reference source with properties {name:"Some name",source text:< reference to the relevant text>}
    this line for example looks like this =>
    set theSource to make cross reference source with properties {name:"Some name", source text:cursorPosition, applied format:cross reference format id 44305 of document "kapitel 1.indd" of application "Adobe InDesign CS4"}
    where "cursorPosition" was defined before by
    set cursorPosition to object reference of selection
    (the cross reference source needs the applied format reference too)
    make hyperlink with properties {source:theSource, destination:theDest, visible:true, highlight:invert, width:thick, border color:dark green, border style:dashed, name:"Whatever" }
    this line for example looks like this =>
    make hyperlink with properties {source:theSource, destination:hyperlink text destination id 44184 of document "kapitel 3.indd" of application "Adobe InDesign CS4", border color:black, highlight:none, border style:solid, hidden:false, visible:true, width:thin}
    end tell

  • Link to specific text from another web page

    Hello all
    Is is possible to link from one page to a specific piece of

    text. I don't know if I am attempting the impossible. Can you help?

    It depends on your settings for how you copy/paste. See your
    PREFERENCES
    for those. I don't get such things because my settings are
    'tight' in that
    they are restrictive to what stying is carried into the page.
    > How I do this in a nav bar?
    Change this -
    .nav {
    font: bold normal 14px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    text-transform: none;
    color: #003300;
    font-weight: bold;
    a.nav:link {
    font: normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

    text-decoration: none;
    a.nav:visited {
    font: normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    text-transform: none;
    color: #003300;
    text-decoration: none;
    to this -
    .nav {
    text-align:center;
    .nav a {
    font: bold normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #030;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-decoration:none;
    margin-right:35px;
    and then change this -
    <div align="center"><a href="index.html"
    class="nav">Home</a>       <span
    class="nav">About
    Us</span>      <a
    href="impact_HE.html" class="nav">Impact of HE
    Proposal</a>      <a
    href="purpose_ED.html"
    class="nav">The Purpose of
    ED</a>      <a
    href="procedures.html"
    class="nav">Procedures </a>     <a
    href="what_can_we_do.html" class="nav">What Can We
    Do?</a></div>
    to this -
    <div class="nav"><a
    href="index.html">Home</a><a
    href="about_us.html">About
    Us</a><a href="impact_HE.html">Impact of HE
    Proposal</a><a
    href="purpose_ED.html">The Purpose of ED</a><a
    href="procedures.html">Procedures</a><a
    href="what_can_we_do.html">What Can
    We Do?</a></div>
    But an even better way would be to make the menu an unordered
    list, like
    this -
    <ul>
    <li><a
    href="index.html">Home</a></li>
    <li><a href="about_us.html">About
    Us</a></li>
    <li><a href="impact_HE.html">Impact of HE
    Proposal</a></li>
    <li><a href="purpose_ED.html">The Purpose of
    ED</a></li>
    <li><a
    href="procedures.html">Procedures</a></li>
    <li><a href="what_can_we_do.html">What Can We
    Do?</a></li>
    </ul>
    And use this CSS -
    .nav {
    text-align:center;
    .nav ul {
    list-style-type:none;
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    overflow:hidden;
    .nav li {
    float:left;
    width:150px;
    margin-right:5px;
    border-right:1px solid green;
    .nav a {
    font: bold normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #030;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-decoration:none;
    If you want to make the current page look like it doesn't
    have a link, then
    do this -
    <ul>
    <li><a href="index.html"
    id="home">Home</a></li>
    <li><a href="about_us.html" id="about">About
    Us</a></li>
    <li><a href="impact_HE.html" id="impact">Impact
    of HE Proposal</a></li>
    <li><a href="purpose_ED.html" id="purpose">The
    Purpose of ED</a></li>
    <li><a href="procedures.html"
    id="procedure">Procedures</a></li>
    <li><a href="what_can_we_do.html" id="what">What
    Can We Do?</a></li>
    </ul>
    and add this to each page (use the proper ID) -
    a#about {
    cursor:default;

  • How to remove the caching in the jspx page?

    I have few links in a jsp page through which i can navigate to jspx pages. In one of the jspx pages there are few drop downs of whose options will be populated from database. when I select a value from the drop down (values are prepopulated in the drop down), then go to the jsp page and visit the jspx again through the link, (without closing the browser) the value which i selected previously is selected as a default value. Why this is happening? Is there anything to be set to remove the caching?

    I have an application which uses JSP - only welcome page, ADF Faces, Spring, Hibernate technologies. The IDE I am using is NetBeans 5.5 bundled with Tomcat & JBoss.
    The welcome page (index.jsp) consists of normal html anchors - hyperlinks (2 Numbers) which each hyperlink would navigate the user to 2 individual jspx pages.

  • Continuously Rasterize with Masked Solid

    Hi,
    i have a pre-comp with a masked and stroked solid, but in the final comp on scaling, "Continuous Rasterize" doesn't render the mask path out smooth yet. How is this done ?
    Also, i'd like the stroke to render at its original stroke size and not be scaled ... is that possible with the stroke within the pre-comp? With an expression or so ?
    Regards,
    Frank

    Sorry, I didn't complete my post. I was replying on my phone. After I said you just didn't dig deep enough I meant to give you the solution, or actually two solutions.
    The first is to add an expreession to the anchor point that points to the size of the rectangle. If you divide the size value by 2 and subtract that from the current value of the anchor point the anchor point will animate as you change the size and the rectangle's left and top edge will maintain their position.
    Here's the expression:
    x = value [0] - content("Rectangle 1").content("Rectangle Path 1").size[0] / 2;
    y = value [1] - content("Rectangle 1").content("Rectangle Path 1").size[1] / 2;
    [x, y];
    Change the minus sign just before content to a plus and the bottom or right edge will maintain position.
    After creating the rectangle and adding the expression you'll have to reposition the rectangle in your design. I could add a bunch of other language to the expression to maintain the original position but frankly, it's a waste of time.
    The other option is to hold down the Alt/Option key as you create your rounded corner (or any other geometric shape layer) so that a Path instead of a Rounded Rectangle is created. When you have a path you can just animate the path selecting as many of the points as you wish.
    Here's a project file (created in CC but saved as CS6) with both options so you can see how this works....
