That particular page fails the w3c validator: "This page is not Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional!" Safari is one of the least forgiving of browsers for code that is not correctly written to standards. You might want to put your pages through the validator and look at the list of generated errors.
Named anchors do work in Safari, for example is this web site faq.

Named Anchors not working in Apple Mail

Hi... we have an HTML Email Newsletter. About 2 months ago the named anchors (links) from the top to different parts of the email stopped working right. For years, named anchors would simply go to the section of the email that you desired. The location of the anchor would appear at the top of the email window. Recently, the links have still worked, but Apple Mail would put the location at the bottom of the email, requiring the user to scroll down to see the content. And even more recently, now we have to double-click the link at the top to get it to work, and still incorrectly.
At first, this seemed to only not work in system 10.6. But now it's working the same way in 10.5. I am surprised a web search hasn't found anyone else with this problem. It affects not only our emails, but any email that has a link from the top of the email to any other part of the email.
Is this just a bug in Apple Mail or is there a fix? Thanks in advance!

I have exactly this same problem - anchors now move the cursor so that the desired text is just off the bottom of the message window, and one has to scroll to see it.
This is obviously an error - it is inconsistent with all web / anchor behavior I am familiar with.
What's going on?????

Named anchors not working appropriate anymore

I am in the middle of developing a website for mobile use with named anchors to navigate through the page. Today I received a FireFox 3.6.10 update and since then it is not working anymore. I use for the anchor and <a href= "#anchorname">go to my anchor</a>for the link. In FireFox 3.6.10 you have to select the named anchor twice, because at first click the page is being reset to the top position. Only after clicking another time the url is directed to the anchor. This problem is only present in FireFox 3.6.10, I have tested on older versions and other browsers and there my page is functioning as expected.

Anchors not working properly when site is iFramed

I've just updated Muse (version 4.0). I've always used anchors in previous sites (with previous Muse versions) and iFramed these sites (for my company's needs). Well, my last site, built with 4.0 has all anchors working well after exported. BUT, once I iFramed it, ALL anchors seem disabled. Would anyone know why? Any workarounds?

When I use NOBINPT = ' '. then some of my screens get supressed so that I can't populate data on those screens. It's only when i use 'X' my BDC works. But as explained earlier this is not working when I schedule it as background job.

Anchors not working on iOS single page site

Anchors are working perfectly with the desktop version of the site and with the iphone 5 preview within Muse, however … when testing the site by bublishing through business catalyst (on an actual iPhone 5) - tapping menu items that link to anchors futher down the page don't work.
I'm currently using release version: v5.0, build 704, CL 775986 (don't know if that helps?)

Anchors not working on iPhone

Hi, I've checked out other threads on this but non of the solutions seem to be working for me.
Here's my link

then I have <div id="contact"> at the point I want to jump to.
It works fine in all browsers apart from on my iPhone with Safari.
I've tried adding an absolute url as suggested on other threads e.g.

or <li><a href="http://www.mydomain.com/index.html/#contact">contact</a></li>
But these seem to stop the anchor from work at all in all other browsers!
Can anyone please advise on this, I'm desperate to find a fix for this.

Links using anchors not working properly to some people

I used anchors to link the show ads on either side of the page to the appropriate section of the show page. This works perfectly in Safari, Firefox (on mac) and IE (on PC).
Our client and one other person have complained that the link to "GodSpell" opens "Heart & Soul" in the centre of the page instead of GodSpell, but I cannot duplicate this. I can't find out what browser / version / OS they're using as they don't know.
Clicking on the GodSpell image on the home page takes you to shows.html#b which is GodSpell. (Heart & Soul is shows.html#a)
They say the other show links work perfectly. I thought initially their browser might not support anchors, but if the others work, then I don't get why this one doesn't.
Is there a better way to link these images than using anchors? Could the problem be that the anchor links are within a ProjectVIII scroller?

I see several problems. In Firefox 12, the only links that work consistently for me are "Love Letters" and "Sinatra". If I use the custom scrollbar and go all the way down to "Sinatra," the links don't trigger anything. Same thing happens in Chrome.
For an alternate approach, I created a named anchors demo (without tables). You'll see there is ample space between each of the named anchor regions (view page source to see the code).

Anchor not working in Tabs/Accordions

My setup:
Three tabs (across the top) on one page
Accordions within each tab
My issue:
Anchor isn't working from one tab/accordion to another. (Note that everything is within the same page.)
Is this even possible??

WLAN anchoring not working for BYOD and ISE?

Anyone set up 802.1x authenication (Radius/ISE) in lieu with wlan anchoring and got it working?
Looking in the docs doesn't give much clues why this fails, but web-auth and achoring works excellent on another wlan.
We need to move all BYOD devices to the datacenter for termination, so using anchoring would solve all our needs.
And yes, all interfaces and security settings are identical on all wlc's. The s/w is 7.0.116 and all controllers are 5508's
Isn't 802.1x and anchoring supported?
BTW - looking on the debug outputs it seems that the remote controllers do initiate radius auth instead of the anchor controller.
Any ideas?

I was hoping that I did't have to open a TAC case regarding this issue.
Since the setup is very simple - a SSID with wpa2/aes and 802.1x and tied to a interface present and active an well as specific radius server for auth on both remote and anchor controller. The tunnel is up between remote and anchor. The anchor also terminates an SSID with web auth that works fine. Why doesn't this work?

Ive got a website in flash which I have used anchors to provide the marker point for navigation. Each button points to a different marker and these work fine when the movie is accessed through its url.
However, im linking to the file from an HTML newsletter (hence the anchors) as each section of the newsletter points to a different section.
When the link on the newsletter is clicked the page with the corresponding anchor loads fine but none of the other buttons work to take me to different pages within the flash file. To go to another page I have to quit the website and click another link on the newsletter which is a bit non user friendly.
I have tried using Anchors for the HTML to Flash link and frame numbers for the page to page flash navigation but this doesnt work. Also tried this with frame markers and no joy.
Anyone any ideas as to why this isnt working.

One solution is to use the <base href="host:port/pls/portal/someareaorother"> command at the top of your page. This prepends the html reference to every link in your page.
So you can do:
<base href="myserver:7777/pls/portal/url/page/my_pages">
<a name="mystuff">
And in the page it will have <a href="myserver:7777/pls/portal/url/page/my_pages#mystuff"></a>

Mask anchors not working?

Threw a mask on an image and I can't seem to move the anchors! I click and hold them and they are ready to move but the dont....
Also as a sidenote, there are many times where I need more then a 4-point mask... Is there like a pen tool or I've seen an 8-point mask used before? Where and how to I get more points for the mask? Then again it's no use if i cant solve my first problem!

Are you working with standard definition media? There is a bug with that and the mask effect doesn't work. You could google for third-party masks or mattes. I thought I saw one with 32-points.

Anchor links to accordion panels not working properly across browsers

Hi everyone,
I need some help to figure out why my anchor links to specific accordion panels on another page are not working properly across browsers.
I have a Map page which has tooltips on mouseover on the site markers. 15 of the tooltips have "Click here for information" anchor links (although only 14 are currently linked) which, in theory, would take you to the Nurseries page where the specified accordion panel would be opened with the nursery entry appearing at the top of the new browser window.

I've tested the anchor links on IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari, and have received varying results. In most cases, the anchor links worked perfectly on two of the browsers, while on the other browsers, the correct accordion panel is opened but the nursery entry does not appear at the top of the new browser window. Anchor links using Safari and Google Chrome fared better (10 out of 14 links worked properly, and 8/14, respectively), whereas when using Firefox and IE, only 3 anchor links worked properly. The target audience for this website will be using IE and Firefox, so I would appreciate any help to figure out how to tweak the code so that the most, if not all, anchor links work properly on these two browsers in particular.
Here's an anchor link which worked perfectly in IE, GC, and Safari, but in FF, the entry did not appear at the top of the new browser window.

Anchor in Safari is not working from left to the right (visa versa) other browsers are working corectly with this!

The Safari anchor problem is back! But now for using an anchor from the left to the right and visa versa (it is for a website design).
Apple solved the problem for using the anchor from the top to bottom and bottom to top but NOT from the left to the right and right to the left.
I test it in several browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, IE8, even in IE7 is it working ;-) but not The Safari of the Big Apple!!!

I put a little script in it so it is going smooth to the right and left. It is also not working without the script, so that is not the problem.
You can test it in: Firefox, IE8, IE7, Chrome, Opera etc. But Safiri is it not working!
So can somebody help me? I tried the max-height, max-width, with and without overflow-x hidden, etc etc. but it is still not working in Safari.

Active state not working in scrolling site (with anchor links)

I'm design a scrolling site with anchor links and an horizontal menu on the top.
when i publish the site and click on the menu buttons the site scrolling to the place of the anchor but the active state in the menu is not working.
now... when i leave the main page (were the scrolling site is) and then return back to it all active states are working perfectly
anyone have this bug? or any one know how to fix it ?

Hmmm...I've just been playing around, and I think I got the Active State to work correctly. I think my problem was not understand what Active State means.
To answer your question, I was changing the Font Color and Box Fill Color of the Active State.
I did not understand that Active State means the look of the Menu Item when the PAGE is active. I thought it meant the look of the Menu item when the cursor is scrolling down the Menu (i.e. when the MENU is Active, not the page).

When you hover over the "Work" menu item, and move the cursor down the menu, the state of "Work" remains changed until you move the cursor off of that menu column. It does NOT return back to it's Normal state until you are off of that menu column.
Is there a way to achieve this with the menu states in Muse?
