Anchor tag on validation fail.

Hi,
I have an application that i need to set the anchor destination when validation fails. I tried an unconditional branch to URL as
f?p=&APP_ID.:&APP_PAGE_ID.:&SESSION.::::#&P2_ANCHOR_POS.
I set the P2_ANCHOR_POS hidden iten within the validation. However branch points dont run unless the validations pass so how can i instruct the screen to move to the desired position?

Hello Graham,
Page processing stops if a validation fails. You'll need to create your own validation process. What you'll need to do is:
1. Delete the Validation
2. Create a Page Process that does your validation and sets the value of P2_ANCHOR_POS if the validation fails. If the validation passes, set the value of P2_ANCHOR_POS to NULL.
3. Set the condition of your branch to be P2_ANCHOR_POS is NOT NULL

Why are inputText values within a dataTable tag lost when validation fails?

Hi, As a test, I have three fields outside of a dataTable tag and three fields inside a dataTable tag.
I enter data into field1, field3 and all of the fields within the dataTable. Field2 is left empty and is required. I press the 'go' button which gets to the validation phase and immediately redraws the web page and says 'value is required' which is what it should do.
What shocks me at this point is that the field values inside the datatable are lost. They are back to their original blank values.
It like even though validation fails(the model is not updated), the datatable is redrawn using the model data which is still blank. The renderer forgets that those fields within the datatable had data typed into them.
Is this a bug? and how do I get around it? I don't want to lose what was typed in.

I posted about this bug a month ago and then again twice more (as recently as last week) and got zero responses. I piddled away so much time thinking I was crazy to believe this framework could have such a gaping hole in the fuselage that it was crazy. The more unsettling part too was the fact that the logging in the jsf code is so pathetic that you have no clue even with it on full that it's throwing your data away, they have unit tests in their code, including in-container tests, and they didn't have a test that turned this up? Hello? A project that has been going for this long should not have torture traps like this in it. Sorry for my negative post. To end on a positive note, I am looking forward to finding out about oracle's stuff. And Sun wonders why no one uses their stuff.
Does the Oracle JSF implementation require OAS?

Netui: anchor tag with target attribute.

I am using the netui:anchor tag inside an iframe to post to an action. But the
resulting page is displayed within the iframe. Will the target attribute of the
netui:anchor tag help solve the problem. What is a valid value of the target
attribute.

does the action have a formSubmit = true? If not then your modal dialog should be shown via the onclick and you have to javascript the link click (based on your modal dialog options)
If you do have a formSubmit=true, then you'd have the onclick show the modal dialog and you would have to write additional javascript to submit the form (Along with setting its action)

Parse THIS!!! XML can't contain HTML (anchor tags)????

Is there a way to parse XML that has HTML tags and special characters within it?
 
I've been searching for days for a solution with no joy.
 
The Oracle scripts I wrote below work fine as long as only alphanumeric characters are in the XML doc.
 
Here's what I'm doing...I'm page scraping several dynamic websites using ColdFusion. I remove all the unneeded HTML...and replace the remaining HTML with XML tags.
 
I then want to pass this XML (see below) variable (cfxml) to Oracle so it can be parsed and loaded into the database. If I remove the anchor tags and the CDATA tags...the code works fine....but I want the anchor tags loaded into my table.
 
Anyone have any suggestions....preferably a solution so I can stop pulling my damn hair out.

You can parse HTML tags inside the Database using JTidy library.
Load JTidy to the sys schema using loadjava with grant to public or into your own schema.
The you can parse HTML tags in a CDATA section creating a Tidy parser. Look at this code as example, its part of DBPrism CMS XForms actions and it process an HTMLArea HTTP Post action. See the method updateContent(CLOB post_xml):

The CLOB arguments is an XML XForm instance document, the content node has the HTML tags to be parsed wrapped by CDATA tags:
So the String content are the HTML tags.
Once the document is parsed by JTidy it is converted to a valid XML and it will be accepted by the XMLType instance.

Problem in onClick attribute of the netui:anchor tag

I have a String object to be passed to the javascript function with onClick attribute.
eg: <%String st = new String("helo");%>
<netui:anchor action="display" onClick="display()">
I want to pass the object st to the java script so that I can do some validations. how can I do that. If I say,
onClick="display('<%=st%>')" it is not working. can you please suggest me a solution.

I haven't tried this with the netui:anchor tag, but it works with the netui:button tag.

Apparently, you can place a scriptlet inside the onClick attribute, but you cannot intermingle the scriptlet with plain text.
Also, the onclick attribute appears not to support XScript ({request.whatever}). I find that weird.

Keep the old value in the UI field if entity validation fails

Hi,
I have a requirement to retain the original value (old value), if the entity attribute validation fails when the filed value is changed. I have created one validation rule on the entity object and the validation rule is working as expected. But I would like to reset the value to the original value if the validation fails on the modified value.

It seems that the forum software messed up the example code you wanted to present. To avoid that you can use the forum tags [code] and [/code] at the beginning and end of your code.
If I understand correctly, you are trying to retrieve the original field value from a fxx array, however these arrays are populated after page submit, so they don’t hold the initial values of the column.
I think the simplest solution will be to use an ‘onfocus’ event that will save the initial value – this.value – in a global JavaScript variable. In your ‘onchange’ code, instead of clearing the field if validation failed just assigns the original value for the JavaScript variable.

Go to Settings -> Administrators -> Manage Privileges -> 'Answers'
Here you can view - "Save Content with HTML Markup" next to it you will see 'Presentation Server Administrators'
Click it and Change for 'Everyone'
And, Save changes. Restart BI Services now you can add the contents and it will not popup any error messages.

Anchor tag error, also copy and pasting text comes up "null"

After the recent update I am receiving anchor tag errors telling me to start with an alphabetic letter, which I was. Also no longer lets me copy and paste text onto a page, instead it says "null". Any ideas on a fix ?

I don't see a closing </body> tag in your code. There's an opening tag, but no closing tag, hence unbalanced.

Report shows "No data found" when validation fails

I'm new to the OTN and have a short question regarding validations/report pagination.
We are using Apex 4.0.2.00.07.
I have a page containing a report with three columns.
First column is a checkbox (f30), the second one a date picker and the third one is a value field (f34).
I'm trying to build a validation for the value field (should only allow numeric values, but is varchar2) and used a validation with "Function Returning Boolean".
The PL/SQL code is:

Process_order api - Validation Failed for Field Bill To

I am relatively new to the EBS world and I'm having some issues with calling the OE_Order_Pub.Process_order API. When I call this API I am getting a return error of "Validation failed for field - Bill To".
For a background...I have an APEX application where users can choose parts from a small part master list to add to an existing order. The existing order will not have a status of Closed or Cancelled and there will be atleast 1 line in the order before the new parts are added. The parts will be added as new lines to the order with some of the new line data defaulting to the same information as the first line. I am using EBS version 12.1.3 with a multi-org setup. It seems that the orders under one org (id=3) are working fine, but another org(id=569) they never work and keep getting the error. I am setting the context to the org of the order and initializing the apps user information with the responsibility "Order Management Super User".
Do you have any idea what could be wrong or how I can debug the error to get a little more detail?

Not able to open document using anchor tag in firefox

Hello Friends,
I would really need your help in solving this issue.My application is deployed in server machine.
I'm accessing the application through fire fox. In my application, i have a link where i need to open a document on click of it.
For this, i am using html anchor tag.
Eg:
Test
where IP is the server machine address and dir is the shared directory.
It works in IE but didn't work in fire fox. Please help me out on to fix it.

How to add anchor tag dynamically on infopath (OOTB task form of workflow .xsn) by jquery -dynamically as i did by below script on newform.aspx where I will read Help title and URL value from list

on newform.aspx just above the top of cancel button I want to put 1 hyperlink "Help"
but I want to do this by script/jquery by reading my configuration list where 1 column is TITLE and other is- URL
Configuration List has 2 columns Title and URLValue

CS5.5 Phonegap - Anchor Tags Don't Work

So I made a test Android app using the phonegap template and it seemed to work okay. Now I'm trying to add anchor tags to link a table of contents from the top to text found lower on the page like this:
<a href="#cq">Clinical Question</a>
<a id="cq">Clinical Question:</a>
But I get "ERROR LOADING PAGE" when testing in multi-view and web browser.
External links work just fine though like:
<a href ="http://www.adobe.com">Adobe</a> 
I'm assuming it has something to do with how the page/site is saved, does anyone have a solution?

That's correct. The jQuery Mobile framework uses IDs to load page blocks in multiple-page files. You cannot link to an ID within an individual page block. See this page in the jQuery Mobile documentation for a detailed explanation: http://jquerymobile.com/demos/1.0a4.1/#docs/pages/docs-pages.html. Confirmation that you can't do what you're trying to achieve is near the bottom of the page.
