Anchor ultra compact view to bottom

I like keeping bridge in ultra compact mode, with the little window tucked away in the lower left hand corner of my screen. When I click the "compact mode" button to see some files and open a slightly larger window, it rolls up as I would expect. However, it's rolls out *above* where the ultra-compact window was. When I click the button to switch back to ultra-compact mode, the window rolls *up* not down so I have the window sitting about 3/4 of the way down my screen instead of the corner where I want it. I'm constantly relocating that window, so consider it a "feature request" to have the bridge compact window anchored to a corner/side of the screen.

Hi, Dusty. All digital cameras that I know of write their memory cards in FAT32 format. Macs, which have always been able to read FAT32, have no trouble reading them, with the exception of the XD cards that many Olympus cameras use. Those are often not readable by Macs for some reason, but it isn't because they're FAT32-formatted. The E-410 can use both CF and XD cards, but you should use only CF cards in yours to avoid problems.

Bridge CS6 'Ultra Compact Mode?'

Hi, can anyone tell me why there is no ultra compact mode in Bridge CS6? Personally this makes Bridge unusable as in compact mode it is too big and clutters up my workspace in InDesign. Is there another way to make it smaller.

They replaced this option in CS5 with the Mini Bridge Panel. This is a panel to be used in Photoshop and InDesign. In InDesign you find it under the menu view/minibridge. Check it and you be presented with a panel that enables you to reach Bridge content within InDesign without the need to switch from application.
However to my personal believe (as a photograper woth PS, not much experience with ID) there is a lot to improve for this panel. But if you first create a collection from content you want to lok at or do need to use I found it usefull to open the MB panel and choose to show the collection. Drag and drop should place your files to the open document.

How to Get Compact View in Calendar Widget?

When I added the stock iOS Calender widget to Notification Center it showed the compact view of all of my events for the day. Now it shows the current event with a red line going across the screen that displays the current time relative to the event's time. Is there a way to switch back? I had the compact view until I had to restore my phone yesterday. Now I seem to be stuck with the detailed time view which is useless to me.

It seems to follow the view you use in the Calendar app. Go to your Calendar app and view your events as a list (go to a single-day view, then click the list button in the top row). Now the Today Calendar widget should display in list view. It seems to stay this way. But if you go back into regular day view in your Calendar app (with the red line showing current time and the big boxes), then the widget switches back to that.
That's as far as I can tell, but I don't know that it's working 100% consistently.

How can i set the order of my accounts in favourite folders compact view? the order of the accounts in this view is different from the original order :(

i set up the desired order of the accounts (tools/options/advanced/general/config editor/mail.accountmanager.accounts) and when i switch to favourite folders compact view (view/folders/favourite + compact view), the order is totally different, hence i dont have the desired order in this view, but i want to use tb in this view, because this is the most appropriate to manage multiple folders, thank you for your help in advance, Joe (win7)

I don't think manually changing things via config editor is a good idea. You may reverse those changes before trying the extension.

Can iMessage be set to Compact View like iChat can?

Is there any way to switch from the chat bubbles to a more compact view in iMessage, something like iChat's Compact view?

Don't have full screen view since changing to 19 inch screen. Have about 2 inches of white space on each side. Changed to compact view and then back. No change

I got a larger monitor and flat screen (19 inch). Since changing I am not getting a full screen view of home page. I changed the page options to compact view and then back, but no change. I've got about 2 inches of white on each side of the home page view.

When going to a website the picture was small - tried changing the Zoom size , tried Zoom Reset - the text did change size but the layout distorts - found under View - Zoom - Zoom Text Only was checked --- Removed this check mark and the website returned to normal size and Zoom worked normally again. I am 99.9999% sure I did NOT check this myself and there is no one else on the computer to cause it. Maybe this will help.

Compact view? v 6.22

Is there a way to get the compact view that pretty much JUST shows the contact list? Similar to what the previous version had? I have looked in the menues and can't seem to find any option to make this version more compact.. ALL I want to see is the contact list.. and the message window to be seperate from that contact list.. I play a lot of games and this window is too large when I go to check a message.. I do not know what ever made the Skype team make it like this..but it needs to have an option for classic/compact view or something... another thing they need to consider is to make the small call window be put in the back ground vs on top of everything.. cause when i play games I often have to stick it in a random spot and move it when i need to be in that area of the screen.. please fix this.. or allow it to be sized smaller..

Best digital camera for iMovie08 in the 'ultra-compact category'

note: i was excited about getting the new Kodak Easyshare V1273 but seems like importing the videos into imovie is a hussle. i basicly would like to get the best high-definition resolution in the market today but in an 'ultra-compact' category i can carry with me. any recommendation?

Yes, the conversion is fast since the video (QT MPEG-4) is passed "as is" from the MOV file container to the MP4 file container (i.e., there is no re-compression of the video so quality is exactly the same) while only the audio is converted if applicable. By that last comment I refer to the fact that neither Kodak nor most reviewers bother to say what audio codec is used but that historically, Kodak uses µ-Law 2:1 audio compression which cannot be edited in iMovie '08 and must be converted to AAC in order to be placed in the MP4 file container and that the AAC is compatible with iMovie '08.
As to recommendations for specific cameras, I rarely make any. To me, the choice is very personal -- almost intimate -- and includes everything from "the feel" of the camera in your hand to its looks. The technical specifications are merely one aspect for consideration. Features are another. Normally, I would make a list of specs and features, arrange this in priority order, make a list of models meeting my requirements, and only then go shopping to evaluate the look/feel of those models. I may spend up to six months shopping and frequently bring my own media to the store to capture sample files for evaluation at home. Except for my first film camera (a Kodak Retina III-C, 1954-1957 vintage), I still have every film and digital camera I ever bought and all are still in good working condition. My advice is the get one that has both the specs and the features you want/need and feels/looks right to you and treat it as if you plan to keep it for at least 30 years.
Also, is the conversion using Quicktime straighforward/well done/optimal (ie. the converted audio is great/excellent?), or since i haven't bought the Kodav V1273 do you recommend instead buying something that is fully compatible with imovie out of the box? (my main and final instest is being able to use imovie.
The Conversion is very straight forward. Simply
a) Open the clip in either QT Pro or GarageBand
b) Select the "Movie to MPEG-4" export option
c) In the "options" window select the "MP4" File Format
d) Under the "Video" tab select the "Pass Through' Video Format option
e) Under the Audio tab select: AAC-LC (Music), Data Rate 64 Kbps for mono (128 Kbps for stereo), 44.1 KHz sampling rate, and Better or Best encoding.
Converted audio will be the same quality as the original -- just slightly larger in file size. The settings listed above are much higher than the original so nothing you can hear will be lost. The V1273 is listed as using the QT MPEG-4 video codec. This means it is compatible with iMovie HD as is and will be compatible with iMovie '08 once the audio is modified. About the only problem you might have is the selection of a Kodak model using the M-JPEG/µ-Law video/audio combination. This format cannot be "passed through" and would require separating the audio for conversion and replacement of the original audio if you want to preserve the original video (which is once again iMovie '08 compatible but not not MP4 file container compatible). In other words, any Kodak digital camera storing its video as QT MPEG-4/µ-Law can use the "pass through" work flow described above. If you find that any of the newest models use AAC (with valid data rate/sampling rate combination), then it will be compatible with iMovie '08 "out of the box." But since most manufacturers are strangely quiet regarding their audio compression formats, it is difficult to evaluate total compatibility based just on the specs given.

Ovi Suite compact view.

The Nokia Ovi Suite, is a great improvement over PC Suite in terms of functionality, but a absolutely hate the user interface, so much so that I don't use it, but as I said before it is a much better program then PC Suite. The problem you have no privacy, and if you have someone near the computer you just can't use it, because it is showing your SMS's, pictures on your Phone and Computer, Contacts, etc, on the home screen. A compact view similar to that of the PC Suite (as an option) would be a great upgrade to an good application.

Anchoring view to bottom of JTextArea within JScrollPane

I've got a JTextArea that will be updated asynchronously with text of unknown length. I want the view to move to the bottom every time text is added. I've read through the API for JScrollPane, JScrollBar, JViewports etc. but haven't been able to figure out how to do it. I assume that I have to update the view each time text is added. Here is a summary of the code I've got:

Viewing the bottom of a spreadsheet when opened

When I open my file, which has pages and pages, I want to be able to open the file and it automatically go to the bottom (or cells that were last entered in). In excel it did it.

When I opened it, I was looking at Table 1 on Sheet 4, and cell B10 was selected (as it was when I saved).
I closed again, Quit Numbers, re launched, and again opened the file. The result was identical to what's described above.

I cannot swith gmail settings from compact to cozy view in Mozilla, it works fine in Chrome and other browsers, I tried it in Mozilla safe mode and was fine

Just the other day gmail settings in Mozilla suddenly went from "cozy" to "compact" view. Gmail is not letting me reset to cozy in Mozilla, saying it's only for larger screens. However, it does let me use cozy in Chrome.
You had one support forum (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972502) and I tried restarting in Mozilla "safe" mode, which allowed me to switch to "cozy". But running in just safe mode is not a solution I can use, so I need to find out what is causing the problem in normal mode that doesn't exist in safe mode. Beyond running in safe mode, there is no other proposed solution here.

Missing "Compact List View" in View menu in v7.7

Observed behavior:

I want to switch them to regular view

Ah, I found it: "show pictures"... which is a little counter intuitive. I guess Mac has unique options to Windows.
