So, I decided to string out the 30-day trial of Indesign because I would rather pay for it in 2013, when my book's coming out, and ... I have a book coming out! No time for this upgrade business!
Anyway, I just went to upgrade ... and learned the window for versions <CS5 had closed December 31st, midway through my 30-day trial.
You know, Adobe sent me at least three emails during that 30-day window. including December 29th. I'm not saying they were under any obligation or anything, but would it have killed them to use that email to remind me I had two days before CS3mageddon?
Not much to be done now except rent the cloud service until this project is done, then go back to rusty old CS3.

I can sympathize with your pain, but this really isn't Adobe's fault (and I have no affiliation with the company). The upgrade deadline was posted on the website months ago, and it's been mentioned here on the forums countless times as well. I realize that you would have had to make some effort to find one of these announcements, but did you really expect Adobe to go through registration records and send everyone with an old version a reminder? The emails you got during your trial period were triggered, no doubt, by the trial itself, and in no way had any connection to your prvious license.

I upgraded from 10.4.11 to 10.5.0 using a drop in DVD and now I can't log in...

I upgraded from 10.4.11 to 10.5.0 using a drop in DVD and now I can't log in...
This was on a G5 imac. I tried booting to the DVD and resetting the password but this did not help.
I did see the 2 user accounts still there when I reset the password so that gives me hope that my data is all there intact.
I need help getting past this login screen PLEASE!
The login name is blank and I've tried everything to get past it.
I heard from a tech that there was a problem when upgrading from 10.4.11 to 10.5.0 instead of the 10.5.3 or whatever, and it was a known issue when using the 10.5.0 disc to upgrade and he said that there was information on apple's site on what to do when this happens but I have not come accross this info as of yet.
I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

OK I finally got passed the above problem by just trying to type it in over and over and over and it finally took!
It seems as though I may have typed it wrong or misspelled something but I could swear I put it in the same way everytime!
NOW...
when I type : passwd username
replacing username with the short name it says
paddwd: Unknown user name 'username'
someone told me that possibly the home folder is still there and intact but the login may have gotten trashed and that i may need to recreate the user login. Does that sound like a possibility?

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

I have just upgraded. AND now I can't view video fullscreen on my secondary monitor?!! Why!

I have a dual monitor set-up, with sharing. I am on a Mac OS X Version 10.7.5
I am viewing my Firefox window on my secondary monitor. (NOT Primary) When I click any video to full-screen it loads the full-screen on my primary monitor. When I click the window to full-screen (on my secondary monitor) it fills the primary monitor.
Before I upgraded, this morning, I could click the full-screen button and my video would appear on the secondary monitor. (The same monitor.) Before this morning, I could re-size the browser window to full-size and view it in my secondary monitor. (The same monitor!)
So, explain to me, why the change? Why is it when I click on a video to enter full-screen, or want to re-size a window to full-screen on my secondary monitor, it views on my primary monitor. Does this make any sense?
Why? Why would somebody want to browse on one monitor, want to watch something fullscreen, click a button and then watch it on another monitor? I just don't get it. Or why would someone be browsing in a window on one monitor, click full-screen, and want to browse in the same window on another monitor?
I am sitting here facing my secondary monitor (which I use as my art-board) and my primary monitor sits to my left. I mainly work from my secondary monitor, so when I am drawing, painting and designing my cursor doesn't 'run into' my dock features, calendar, ext. When browsing in Firefox my window is where it should be, in-front of me. So why would I want to watch a video or browse the web on my left? Why? Why would any developer or designer do this! Especially considering the second, non viewing screen is black! Which means my secondary monitor (in-front of me) is black.
When I click, view full-screen, whether video or resizing windows, whether it is my primary or secondary monitor, don't you think the screen should appear full-screen in the monitor I am using?! Right?! I mean somehow you calculated a way for Firefox to recognize which monitor to reopen in. So what's up? I didn't have this problem last week? I just checked Safari. Wow. Look at that! When I want to view a video in full-screen in the appropriate monitor I can! Wow! I can actually click on my secondary monitor and it's recognizes I want to watch the video on the same monitor.
I used to be able to do this in Firefox. I guess it is time to give up on Firefox. And choose a company who understands user-perspective. Or at-least understands what an upgrade is.

I've installed 3 different RSS readers and none of them "grab" the default flag for RSS feeds.
I've also uninstalled the Podcasts.app, then re-installed a couple of the readers and Safari still has no idea what to do with them.
What's most annoying is that Safari declares it doesn't know what to do with a feed and offers to load the iTunes Store so I can pick an RSS Reader to install, and then the iTunes app declares it can't connect to the store (even when I'm already on the store or downloading an application at the time).
And yeah, I've tried the fixes for the cannot connect errors (Date/Time flip, reinstall bought app, setting DNS to Google even though it was already fine, and clearing Safari's cache just in case).
This is absolutely pathetic.

What a disaster and huge mistake. Upgraded to Mountain Lion and now I can't run Autocad 2012 for Mac, any of my Adobe Creative suites software such as Photoshop, Illustrator.. and now I can't even do upgrades because Mountain Lion doesn't allow me to launch DMGs. I've lost thousands of $'s in software, not to mention time, but most importantly now I can't even work! I just tried to revert back to Snow Leopard by intalling it back in my hard drive and it won't let me. I never used Time Machine. Is there any way on earth I can revert back to my old operating software??? Please help. And if you haven't upgraded yet and are thinking about it. BEWARE - and don't do it. I've been reading that Mountain Lion isn't working with Microsoft applications either. Omy...I haven't even checked that.

No you are not, calm down, cbs20 already gave you the answer on opening dmg files, updates are available for most of your programs and I assume you have licenses for the Adobe products. AutoCad you'll have to wait for.

I have had the same problem as yours on my Ipad after upgraded Procreate 2.01. My iOS is 7.04. I tried to find solution from internet for weeks. Fortunately, the problem was resolved a few minutes ago. It is very simple,
1. Lunch outlook.com to confirm you can access hotmail mailbox. It means your account is Ok.
2. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.Delete your hotmail account from your device.(my device is Ipad)
3. Turn off your device, then turn on again.
4. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and create your hotmail account by tap outlook.com. Be sure the incoming mail server is pop3.live.com.
5. Waiting for validation.

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However .... I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try.

Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

Some of us have our enture itunes library backed up on CD/DVD - what a waste of time and effort as now presumably you can't use these discs to restore itunes on a new computer! WHY NOT APPLE?
Very unimpressed with itunes 10.5/ios5 - wifi tracking apps have been removed from the store (and won't function in ios5), it's impossible to sync photos (I have spent a whole day trying to sync my iphone 3GS with itines 10.5) to no avail and now, no CD backup facility.
