I have just installed iWork 8 on my iMac running OSX 10.7.4 as I bought an iPad and wish to use office software. Guess what iWork 08 is incompatible with 10.7.4.
The only programme I have tried is Keynote, this runes but when you try to type text it only allows certain colours and it is guess work as to what colour you will get. If you import a photo it is inverted (looks like a negative).
The onlu solutions I can find posted here posted are to upgrade to iWork 11 at a cost of £41.97. This will be for all the macs I run which will work out at a cost of £167.88. Apple used to offer a family package for this which reduced the cost of this but I can't see this option any more. Then I will have to add the cost of purchasing the apps for my IPad at £20.97. This makes the total cost of getting office software which I can run accross all my systems £188.85 or if I just choose to run it on one machine £62.94.
I only tried to install iWork for my wife who is thinking of purchasing iPads for her school and wanted to see how compatible with MS Office it was.

Are you confusing iWork '11 with iLife '11 ? The current version of iWork is '09 still. Make sure you are not confusing your prices as well.

Get it fixed. Take it to an Apple Store for them to look at.
Dropping electronics on hard surfaces does have a habit of making them go "funny" - best to avoid doing that if you can.

Might be corrupted preferences ..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.desktop.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac and try changing the desktop photo.

When my screen goes to sleep and then the hard drive goes to sleep why won't the screen wake up?

I can repeat this 100% of the time. If I let the screen go to sleep (or I manually put it to sleep) and I shut the computer so the hard drive goes to sleep (or if the hard drive simply goes to sleep on the timer), when I open the Macbook Pro the screen will not wake up, although I think the hard drive does as the back light on the keyboard turns on. Any ideas on why this is happening. My computer is 4 weeks old...a bit frustrating. The best answer I have gotten is get a new one for Apple...or completely re-install the OS.

The reason why it's happening is not obvious and can't be determined without more information. The fact that you can reproduce the problem makes it a lot more tractable.
As a first step, boot in safe mode (shift key down at startup.) Can you reproduce the problem now? If so, note the time, then reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and look in the system log for error messages at the time the screen failed to wake up.

When i click a button the webpage doesn't load... and sometimes the whole pages goes white and just shows words on the far left...

idk if it is java or what, but every time i go to certain websites, like youtube.com they go blank and just show words, no images or nothing.. however i updated something and youtube works fine.. but now a website called roblox.com every time i hit the play button on a game, (it should load the game into a new window) doesn't do nothing when i click the icon.. to load it... can anyone help me with this problem?

You are not addressing Apple here.
This is a user to user forum, this is spelled out in the terms of service you agreed to when you joined.
There is no Apple server for your email.
servers are set up, used and maintained by whatever email service you use-such as rediffmail.
Go threaten them.

How to tell when View is about to transition to another view and when the app is going to backgorund

Hello,
I have a view that displays an actionContent button and removes it when the view goes away.
I add it on the creationComplete event handler and remove it on the viewDeactivate event handler.
The problem is that the viewDeactivate is fired when the the Menu button is pressed or a phone call is received for example and thus it removes the button.
When the application is brought back, the button is no longer there.
Although I can add the code to create the button again on viewActivate this time, I wonder if there is a better way to do this.

If it's stopping during the movie that could be network related. As for locating the rental, try logging out of your account and signing back in again.

All my movies are in 4:3 scale. I need to finalize a dvd, and when the movie enters in iDVD, burns in 16:9 format. What must I do?

I need a help from you. All my movies are in 4:3 scale.
I use always the same Easy SepUp in Final Cut. My movies is compressed as DV NTSC in 4:3 format.
I need to finalize a dvd, and when the movie enters in iDVD, the preview appears already written in green "widescreen preview", and so the finallized dvd goes to 16:9 format.
I checked in Idvd, and the size is choosed to 4:3.
Interestingly, I've used iDVD several times, including by using templatesmade to 16:9, and changing the format to 4:3 it always worked well.
Maybe is an Idvd update that causes it?

Sorry,I know this is a month late, but I think I remember this happening to myself some time ago. As I can best recall, I believe I had used an MP3 music file in my project (exported from FCP 7) and that was the cause in some strange way. I remember deleting a file (again, I believe the mp3 file) and then it worked fine as 4:3.Not positive, but I hope this helps.
