And yet another publishing error

I'm trying to publish my sites to a folder so I can upload them to my domain server. iWeb is not able to publish to the local folder on my desktop without getting a publishing error. I'm seeing other issues similar to mine on the forums. Wondering if anyone has pinpointed the problem and if there's some way to get around it while we wait for things to get fixed in Mobile Me Land.

  • Yet Another Publish to .Mac Error

    Ok, got iWeb 08. Upgraded. Started it up. Updated my iWeb 06 created sites. Completed successfully.
    I then go to publish. Click continue on the "make sure nothing you are uploading is copyrighted...blah, blah, blah." It uploads the sites. Everything is blue. Then iWeb states it will finish updating the sites in the background. Basically updating pictures movies, so on and so forth. Goes through each site and then at the very end after everything looks to be uploaded. Then suddently everything goes back to red and I get "Publish Error...There was an error updating .Mac." That's it nothing else.
    I found this tech article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305954
    Did what it said and still nothing. I'm connected to .Mac. Got the green little dot at the bottom of the screen. I can connect to the iDisk. I have tried to remove the previous sites from the iDisk but won't allow me to. Get permission errors if I remember correctly.
    Has anyone else had this issue?

    Hey David - welcome to the forums...
    I had this error and the only fix I had was to redesign my entire website.
    I'm hoping that I did that prematurely and that someone here will have and answer.
    That said...
    At the bottom of the iWeb app page (where the green light is) does it have a personal domain name attached to your email address?
    I suggest you tell iWeb under FILE-Personal Domain (something) to turn it off. Will take you to another external website and so 'something'. Then restart iWeb and try publishing again.
    That was one step I never tried in trying to fix my issues. It MIGHT help. You can always turn it back on later.
    Good luck.

  • I tried to implement photo albums using iweb and got a publishing error.

    I tried to implement photo albums using iweb and got a publishing error. All was fine with my site until I added the photo album page. The software doesnt say what the error is exactly, only that it is a publishing error to my ftp
    Exact message "There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider."
    If I reduce the albums inside to 1 then it seems to work but that takes away from the usefullness of multiple albums.
    my iWeb version is 3.0.4 (601)

    Publish your site to a folder on your hard drive to see if the publication will proceed successfully and open the site locally with your browser to confirm all of the alums are there and work.  If they do try the following:
    delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
    go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    Click to view full size
    launch iWeb and try again.
    If you're still not able to publish from iWeb to your server download and use the free  Cyberduck to upload your website files to the server. Users have found that CD has been successful when iWeb had problems.

  • Proxy servers and the "cannot publish" error - v.1.1.2

    Using the latest iWeb (1.1.2), attempts to publish my work to my .Mac account resulted in the infamous "publish error." I then came across this KB article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303927
    I turned off my proxy access in the Network settings, and voila, publishing was successful. But now, I'm circumventing my much-needed proxy.
    It's been suggested in other threads here that proxies aren't a problem if one's iDisk is accessible through it. This is not the case. With the proxy, iDisk access is fine, it's only iWeb publishing that is a problem.
    Any way to keep my proxy and still publish with .Mac?

    iDisk access and iWeb publishing ARE indeed different activities. They are similar in that they both utilize the WebDAV protocol over Port 80, but they are different in their individual requirements for back and forth communications with the .Mac servers in terms of how soon or in what timeframe they expect to hear confirmation of transfer back from the server.
    It is apparent to me that the network timeout threshold for copying something to iDisk is a lot longer than that for publishing through iWeb. In fact, I would say that iWeb has become a lot more stringent with network timeouts ever since it was updated from 1.0 to 1.1.
    Anything in between your computer and the .Mac servers contributes to network latency. There are both software and hardware contributions to this latency. Proxy servers, like routers, can be software or hardware based. Software-based latency is most often greater than hardware-based latency.
    I would guess that removing any kind of latency "generating" obstacles within your control would likely improve iWeb function and decrease the incidence of publish errors. Some of these obstacles can include background processes, busy LAN activity (like VOIP use or streaming music/video or online gaming), wireless access points, proxy servers, and routers.
    On the other hand, I also think that if Apple increased iWeb's network timeout threshold, that most of the publishing errors that people experience could be eliminated.

  • Please help another publishing error

    Hi
    I have checked around for answers (or at least a reasonable explanation of something fairly simple) and found nothing.
    I have just tried to add a new pictures page to my site, with a couple of holiday pics. All well and good.
    Then when I publish the site, and go through all the hullaballoo of creating every single page again (can someone please explain why? - particularly when it includes creating pages on a different site that has had nothing changed on it!) I get a publish error, failing to upload some arbitrary .jpg. However this graphic was on one of my old pages that I had not touched at all (and had remained "blue" in iWeb).
    What is bizarre is that my new page has been published (along with all its pictures) and the old page with the failed graphic is also fine (and all its pictures are there).
    I would really like to know why iWeb recreates all my pages, why there was an error on a page and file that iWeb shouldn't have been touching at all and finally, why iWeb still registers my new page (and hence my site) as unpublished despite the fact that I can visit all the new stuff on it?
    Just as an aside, I stopped the upload after the error, but my Activity Monitor was still registering a whackload of uploading going on until I actually quit iWeb.
    What's going on? In words of one syllable or less please, I am a little slow.
    Thanks!
    John

    The procedure is invalid and requires compilation. This can occur automatically when an object that the procedure is dependant upon is changed, there are a number of conditions that control this, which I'm not going into here, documentation is available on technet. Alternatively, when it was last compiled there was an error that was never fixed...
    Anyway, run the following command
    alter procedure flash_report compile;
    Alternatively you can use DBMS_UTILITY.compile_schema to compile the entire REPORT schema.
    If you get an error, then it's time to debug
    Use show errors or select * from user_errors to identify where the error is.
    Fix the error, and recompile.

  • Yet more publishing errors

    I've been playing with iWeb a bit since it was released, and whenever I actually sit down and do some proper web stuff I get publishing errors.
    Publishing Error
    An error occurred while publishing file "shapeimage2_rollover4.png"
    I've had this lots of times now. At first I thought it was me doing something wrong, but now I'm getting very frustrated. I have no idea which file 'shapeimage2_rollover4.png' is, and since this error seems to halt iWeb in its tracks, leaving an unpublished site, what do I do ? I've deleted everything and started again about 4 times now, and now I'm at the point where I'm thinking iWeb is simply too riddled with bugs to be of any value. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong, or is iWeb just buggy junk ?

    I have been having all the probems as well. My
    lastest is "an unknown error occured". So what am I
    to do with this?
    My issue seems even worse: I can't even publish on local folder. The publish stops at the very same moment, just like if a page or a specific file is corrupted. That's a real bore...
    I read in someone responses to
    delete all the files on your hard drive, in iWeb,

    it worked. I may try again. Will let this thread know
    what happens.

    I hope they'll fix and improve this. I've bought iLife 06 specifically for iWeb and I just can't use it... Pfew...

  • Workflow Manager and SharePoint Designer publishing error

    Hello all,
    I'm hoping for some help in fixing this issue.
    I've been trying to publish a workflow using SharePoint Designer only to find that I get this error:
    "Errors were found when compilint the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run."
    After clicking on the advanced button it shows error:
    System.InvalidOperationException: Operation failed with error Microsoft.Workflow.Client.WorkflowCommunicationException: The request was aborted: The request was canceled. Client ActivityId : 6a78ad9c-6ac6-f03a-0680-003bd46e5f68. ---> System.Net.WebException:
    The request was aborted: The request was canceled. ---> Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The requested operation requires an HTTPS (SSL) channel.
    Ensure that the target endpoint address supports SSL and try again.
    Target endpoint address:
    Note: the message cuts off after the "Target endpoint address".
    Looking on the SharePoint server, when I try and pull up the Workflow Manager site (https://localhost:12290/) I get this response:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <Code>AuthorizationError</Code><message><Message>The caller does not have the necessary
    permissions required for this operation. Permissions granted: None. Required permissions: ReadScope.</Message></message></Error>
    I am running this farm with HTTPS and I have registered the SP workflow service with the appropriate application. I have also set the Workflow Management Site bindings in IIS to utilize the same certificate as the default SharePoint site.
    At this point, I don't know if the error that I received from Designer is related to the Site error, although I do know that I also have a Development environment that is able to publish workflows just fine. However, this farm uses HTTP rather than HTTPS
    so I can only assume that the differences are what's causing the issue. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Thanks!

    Hi,
    As I understand, you encountered the issue when you published a workflow on SharePoint 2013 workflow platform.
    I wonder does it work well before when using 2013 workflow platform? If it works before, did you install any updates or change the configuration to the workflow related settings?
    If this is the first time after you installed workflow manager 2013, then I’d recommend you try re-registering workflow service per the link below and post the result:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj658588(v=office.15).aspx
    From the message you accessed workflow host uri, please make sure the account to wfsetup and wfservice account are both in wfadmins group.

  • IMovie -crushing and  Unable to Publish Error -50

    Hello Dear Helpful People!
    I have a problem with iMovie 11. It all worked fine until I today. I had problems opening the program,
    then I had problems with the preview. All problems I hadn't had 2 month ago.
    When I finally finished my project and wanted to export it, or publish it this error is coming:
    The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)
    Can someone please help me?
    I screened the forum for similar problems and all the solutions there couldn't help me.
    I have 430 GB free Space, I located the Sharing Folder and set all permissions to Read&Write.
    This is so frustrating!

    I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
    I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

  • Yet another parseEscapedXML()  error

    Hi All,
    I have the following operations:
    <copy>
    <from expression="ora:getContentAsString(bpws:getVariableData('p_invoice_payload','cXML'))"/>
    <to variable="p_java_str"/>
    </copy>

    <to variable="p_invoice_payload" part="cXML"/>
    </copy>
    This returns a type error:
    <ERROR> <b2bc-d.collaxa.cube.engine.dispatch> <BaseScheduledWorker::process> Failed to handle dispatch message ... exception ORABPEL-05002
    Message handle error.
    An exception occurred while attempting to process the message "com.collaxa.cube.engine.dispatch.message.invoke.InvokeInstanceMessage"; the exception is: XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "ora:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('p_java_str'))", the reason is FOTY0001: type error.
    Please verify the xpath query.
    Any idea what can be wrong? I plan to do some string processing after the first copy. But cannot convert back.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Suresh,
    ora:parseEscapedXML() expects a single parameter input of type string and bpws:getVariableData() returns a node set type.
    Anyways.. it worked fine for me to use something like ora:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('<varname>')) as you did.
    Sometimes I observed that I get FOTY0001: type error and so I have to use something like this ora:parseEscapedXML(+ora:getNodeValue+(bpws:getVariableData('<varname>'))).
    Hope that helps.

  • Wine and yet another font problem

    So I upgraded my system (had to load lots of stuff, Xorg, Wine, the kernel..) and now my Wine fonts look like this:
    http://koti.kapsi.fi/anpurola/winecfg.png
    Some fonts are ok, but most of them are unreadable. I mostly run poker clients. I tried to delete my .wine directory, and install fonts again with winetricks, didn't help.
    Does this have something to do with the new Xorg? I had to remove RgbPath and AutoAddDevices from xorg.conf BTW, to get it work.

  • Yet another 8006 error when downloading podcast episodes

    Hi all,
    my podcast just stopped working today. I used to have a PHP-wrapper, and all mp3-files were handled by it. This allowed me to track the number of completed downloads instead of started ones. Well, this didn't work when somebody tried to download an episode with their iPhone. Now I have changed my RSS-feed to work so that it points to a PHP-script which simply provides an HTTP 302 status and the link to the actual file.
    For some reason this seems to work on everything else, incuding the iTunes app in iPhone, but iTunes on my Macbook (or anybody else's iTuneses for that matter) just give that notorious 8006 error.
    URL to the feed is http://media.konsolifin.net/podcast/podcast.rss?src=itunes (That src variable is not really necessary, but I like to have it there to help me track what download channel the listeners are using.)
    Anybody have any idea what could be wrong this time? Lucky thing is that since I have written the code for the whole podcast page myself, I can easily change virtually anything and also get some information about the incoming requests.

    The URL given for your latest episode is
    http://media.konsolifin.net/podcast/konsolifin_podcast_bonus_track_005_joulukale nterin_ensimmainen_luukku-46-itunes.mp3
    When pasted into a browser this redirects to
    http://media.konsolifin.net/podcast/mp3/konsolifin_podcast_bonus_track_005_joulu kalenterin_ensimmainen_luukku.mp3
    However when subscribing iTunes appears to start downloading but then brings up an error. I don't know anything about PHP, but from various other reports it does appear that iTunes is flaky when it comes to calling media files using a script. It's really recommended to provide a direct link to the file. I understand that you want to use PHP to provide usage information, which you won't get by linking directly, but as I say it often causes problems and I'm afraid I can't offer any advice on getting round them.

  • And yet another reverse telecine question. =)

    Okay so I shot the footage in 24p advanced on a dvx100b. I batch reverse telecined in cinema tools. It worked fine except for the first frame of some of the final reverse telecined files. Only on some of the files (randomly) the first frame is interlaced. This only happened to some of the files and it is not really a big deal because there is nothing important usually in the first frame but it is a little worrying. Could it be because I didnt really pay attention to which of the 5 frame set (0-5/A-D frames where frame 3/C is the interlaced frame in 24p advanced) was captured as the first frame during capturing? I have heard that you must capture the 0/A frame as the first frame for reverse telecining/advanced pulldown removal to work. Is this true. Even if so, the whole clip other than the first frame is still fine so, any ideas?

    Ive received an answer to this in another forum. It is due to the fact that cinema tools has no other field to combine with for the first frame depending on which of the 5 field sequence it started recording in. It is really no problem because it is only the very first frame that is affected.
