Android 4.1.1 and New Bug (OpenSSL Vulnerability)

I have updated my device to 4.1.1 recently which seems is the only version of android that would be affected by this bug.

New bug introduced with Keynote 5.2 - Set timing and order of each build has stopped working properly on Smart Builds

Hi there,
We're heavy users of Keynote and have noticed a new bug has recently been introduced into something that was stable. I think it has emerged in Keynote 5.2, could have been Keynote 5.1 also.
It's in the area of Set Timing and Order of each build when used on a Smartbuild. You can no longer set the Start Build field for each instance within the Smart build when the instances are interspersed between other items. The Start build field is just blank and unselectable.
To see this :
1. Create a bullet point list with 4 lines
2. Set build to Appear
3. Set "Set Timing and Order of each Build" to on
4. Create a Smart Build - set to flip
5. On the Smart Build Set "Set Timing and Order of each Build" to on
5. re-order the items in your Build Order so that they alternate between the bullet point and the smart build flip
At this point, you used to be able to set the bullets so that they Started on Click and then set the smart builds to Start with previous. This gave you a nice and very useful effect where you could click to reveal a bullet point and at the same time flip in a corresponding image. We've used this loads of times in our company presentations.
With a recent keynote update ( I think 5.2 maybe, could have been 5.1) this functinality has been lost. have tried it on Lion and Mountain Lion and it's not an OS issue, its a Keynote issue.
Could anyone from Apple acknowledge that they know the issue and suggest if it will get fixed? Right now we're hunting round for an old Keynote 9 DVD so we can install a pre build 5.2 version.

I've noticed the bug you describe and to me it's very irritating.
I also found some differences in the build menu between the last release and the previous one, and between the Mac OS X and iOS versions. For instance, the blast build doesn't exist anymore in Keynote 5.2 but it's still in the version for iOS 6.
What is your experience about?
I currently use OX Lion.

[SOLVED] new openssl vulnerability

I wasn't sure where to put this, but didn't see an official roll of the patched non vulnerable version of openssl except the one in testing, anyone know if one is in the works or should we start patching/compiling/downgrading?

leak arbitrary information from any process using OpenSSL. [2]
We contacted you, because you have subscribed to get general announcements,
or you have had a server certificate since the bug was introduced into the
OpenSSL releases and are especially likely to be affected by it.
CAcert is not responsible for this issue. But we want to inform members
about it, who are especially likely to be vulnerable or otherwise affected.
Good news:
==========
Certificates issued by CAcert are not broken and our central systems did
not leak your keys.
Bad news:
=========
Even then you may be affected.
Although your keys were not leaked by CAcert your keys on your own systems
might have been compromised if you were or are running a vulnerable version
of OpenSSL.
To elaborate on this:
=====================
The central systems of CAcert and our root certificates are not affected by
this issue. Regrettably some of our infrastructure systems were affected by
the bug. We are working to fix them and already completed work for the most
critical ones. If you logged into those systems, within the last two years,
(see list in the blog post) you might be affected!
But unfortunately given the nature of this bug we have to assume that the
certificates of our members may be affected, if they were used in an
environment with a publicly accessible OpenSSL connection (e.g. Apache web
server, mail server, Jabber server, ...). The bug has been open in OpenSSL
for two years - from December 2011 and was introduced in stable releases
starting with OpenSSL 1.0.1.
When an attacker can reach a vulnerable service he can abuse the TLS
heartbeat extension to retrieve arbitrary chunks of memory by exploiting a
missing bounds check. This can lead to disclosure of your private keys,
resident session keys and other key material as well as all volatile
memory contents of the server process like passwords, transmitted user data
(e.g. web content) as well as other potentially confidential information.
Exploiting this bug does not leave any noticeable traces, thus for any
system which is (or has been) running a vulnerable version of OpenSSL you
must assume that at least your used server keys are compromised and
therefore must be replaced by newly generated ones. Simply renewing
existing certificates is not sufficient! - Please generate NEW keys with at
least 2048 bit RSA or stronger!
As mentioned above this bug can be used to leak passwords and thus you
should consider changing your login credentials to potentially compromised
systems as well as any other system where those credentials might have been
used as soon as possible.
An (incomplete) list of commonly used software which include or link to
OpenSSL can be found at [5].
What to do?
===========
- Ensure that you upgrade your system to a fixed OpenSSL version (1.0.1g or
above).
- Only then create new keys for your certificates.
- Revoke all certificates, which may be affected.
- Check what services you have used that may have been affected within the
last two years.
- Wait until you think that those environments got fixed.
- Then (and only then) change your credentials for those services. If you
do it too early, i.e. before the sites got fixed, your data may be leaked,
again. So be careful when you do this.
CAcert's response to the bug:

- We updated most of the affected infrastructure systems and created new
certificates for them. The remaining will follow, soon.
- We used this opportunity to upgrade to 4096 bit RSA keys signed with
SHA-512. The new fingerprints can be found in the list in the blog post.
- With this email we contact all members, who had active server
certificates within the last two years.
- We will keep you updated, in the blog.

MacBook Pro - Bluetooth and Speaker bug

Hello,
I've bought a new speaker (JBL Pulse) one day ago in order to use it like speaker for my Macbook pro.
Here it is, I need to use a bluetooth connection if I want to use my JBL speaker. My bluetooth is able to see my speaker, so they are connected. Everything works fine but after 1min, I can't explain why but the connection between them is broken. And it does it every time.
So first of all, I've tried other devices. My iphone is ok, my ipad is ok, I've tried with 2 other Macbook and everything works well. So I've concluded that the bug comes from my computer.
I have a magic mouse so I thought that maybe my mouse could create some disruption. I have disconnected my mouse but the bug is still here.
Then, I've called apple support.
The guy told me to do many things like reboot the macbook and other stuff like that. At the end he told me to reinstall my OSX. So i did it and the bug is still here.
Then I have even tried to delete the file inside my DD thinking that maybe it could help. but I have still the same problem.
It's not the first time that I have some troubles with my bluetooth. Sometimes it happens that my magic mouse is disconnected while I'm using it. Or even sometimes when I try to click on the bluetooth icon it doesn't even answer. And I have to restart my computer.
I'm a little bit frustrated because my macbook pro is in very good condition and it's a young one (almost one year). I don't have a lot of stuff inside.
A friend tried to solve the problem but he thinks that the problem comes from my "network card".

I have the same problem with my older white Apple Wireless Extended Keyboard, which had been working fine with my 2009 iMac. But I experience the issue sporadically with my new Mac Mini. I've read reports of people resolving some BT issues by turning off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" in the Advanced pane of the Bluetooth System Preferenes Pane.
There are also people having the issue on iOS devices using various Apple BT keyboards. No help, but interesting to note that it's happening across various devices, keyboard models, and OSs.

New bug in Ultrabeat into Logic Pro 8.0.1

Hey guys check this... a brand new bug (hope it would be only my mac, but with 8.0.0 there wasn't)
so open ultrabeat, choose the preset called Drag & drop samples under Drum Kits.
(just to use one free preset)
load a file and record something, then press play in order to listen your drum and try to load an other sample to make comparison (example: load a kick, do a 4/4 drum, try to replace the kick with an other sample and check the Preview sample in ultrabeat to try comparison... )
after this update no more Preview sample in ultrabeat voice (and than note will stop on playing when u try that function

New BUg in 645E MAX 2

Hi, I found a new bug in 645E MAX 2. When you run the FSB at 145Mhz, and boot it up, the actual frequency that it will run is 87. something... I verified this in wcpuid. On top of that, I ran the sandra benchmark and that also verified that the FSB was running slower. I change the FSB to 144 and 146, and both ran fine ehehhe...

i guess the system cant handle 145 and set itself to safe values after freezing?

I am sorry but this leaves me in the dark. On the site mentioned above I cannot
find something like a download for javaHL (on MacOSX especially).
Although I did install subversion 1.4.4 from the source distribution I do not
seem to have a javaHL binary. How further?

Here is a new bug in data_table
When you create an table with data_table using id=�tableName� attribute and render the data_table for the first time, JSF saves the settings, but does not change them any more when you add new Attributes.
When you add new Attributes to the data_table, they don�t get rendered. You must first change the id=�newTableName� before the changes gets rendered. Probably the tableID object is not changing its properties for some reason??

Just found a reference to a work around to the issue by putting the macbook to sleep & waking it. Worked a treat !
This makes it usable again. Which is lucky as I was preparing to see how far I could toss the macbook !
Suppose I'll need to wait for a patch.

If repeat mode is false, the Player will extend the edge pixels of the bitmap to fill the empty space. The fix is to limit the fill area to the size of the bitmap.

If repeat mode is false, the Player will extend the edge pixels of the bitmap to fill the empty space. The fix is to draw the transformed bitmapData into a new bitmapData that is two pixels wider and taller than the source bitmap if repeat is false. There is a caching mechanism that keeps the new bitmapData around unless the source, one of the transform properties or the bounds size have changed.
There is an additional optimization which only uses the extra bitmapData if it is larger than the bounds or if it has been transformed.
Unfortunately this means that the BitmapFill will keep around an extra bitmapData object in certain circumstances. This situation will most frequently happen when the bitmap is smaller than the shape being filled and repeat is set to false.

Components disarray New bug found?

I created a dashboard using among other, sliders and progress bars (Engage 2008). I exported the dashboard to power point and everything went OK. I decided to go back to the Xcelsius file, and to my astonishment, the sliders' width was now one fifth the original and the width of the progress bars was about five time wider !!
The power point file was not affected
I fixed both components widths, exported them again, went back to the original CX file....and again the same disarray!! I did this four times and the problem appeared always. Can someone tell me why is this happening?
Or is it a new bug?

It seems very easy to mess something up on the canvas in xcelsius. Locking all the components until you need to edit one ensures you don't accidentally mess one up. Well I need to, anyway...
Also, since I started getting weird effects like losing references, components reverting to their original size when I had edited them days ago etc, I thought it was better to lock components before saving. It seems to have reduced the incidence of such behavious but I could be imagining it: I still have unexpected and quite damaging behaviour as reported elsewhere on this forum.
