  • ISIS on Motorola RAZR Maxx?

Has anyone been able to download ISIS app (mobile wallet) on their Motorola RAZR Maxx? I have the NFC Sim card, but am getting the message that this device is not compatible with ISIS. however, I have seen the Moto RAZR Maxx listed as an eligible device. I have updated to the latest software. Any help would be appreciated!

If you Phone is the Droid Razr Maxx it is not Compatible with that App!  Only these can utilize this app.. Moto X users can use it as Well)  A note to be know as far as know all Android units have to be running Kit Kat to use this as I was told by a Verizon Store Rep.. Unless it's verified different.. b33

  • Can't make or receive calls  - Motorola Razr Maxx

My wife and I can not make or receive calls on our Motorola Razr Maxx phones.  We can receive and send texts.   We have turned off our phones and restarted to no avail.  We are in the Metro Atlanta area.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you both. I just had a chat with VZW support, and there seems to be an issue in the area.  I would think the SIM card solution would work if it were just one phone, however, both my phone and my wife's have the same issue.
    Thanks for the responses.

  • Last software update cripples Motorola Razrs- why?

We have two Motorola Razrs that since the last update, have been unresponsive, slow, and has issues texting, calling... you know, using your phone as a phone.
Well, chatting with Verizon will get you nowhere, support was unresponsive and said 'sorry'. This is not acceptable to me. I have three lines plus the home phone line with Verizon, been with Verizon for tens years, and this is the response I get?
I consider this theft of service-> I cannot use the service as paid for by me and 'supplied' by Verizon. If Verizon doesn't want to hear it, I have the FCC, politicians, social media, press, etc that will.
    I need resolution.

I have completed the factory reset, to my wife’s dismay, three times to date. SafeMode has no effect. There is no damage, water or otherwise. We have had these devices two years, there is no warranty. These devices were working perfectly before the last maintenance update pushed by Verizon to our phones. That is our sticking point: These phones were working flawlessly before the update, unreliable, slow, (removed) since the update.
Look, I don’t want a discount, I don’t want anything free, we just want working phones.
Here is the situation, we already have three lines and a Verizon home base station.  We had planned on upgrading to Note 3’s, adding another phone line for my daughter, and ‘upgrading’ both with our Razrs. This can no longer be unless we get this problem resolved.  We’ve spent quite a bit of money over the years with Verizon, I’m not understanding why we’re having these issues or why we cannot resolve them.

  • Motoprint on my motorola razr maxx smartphone will not print documents on eprint.

I am able to print from my smart phone by sending a document as an email attachment by wifi to the eprint web page, but Motorola Motoprint will not open a document on my smartphone and send it direct to the printer by my wifi network. My RAZR MAXX has Droid "Ice Cream Sandwich" operating system. My HP printer is the Photosmart model 5515. Motoprint will recognize the printer, but doesn't seem to load the printer drivers.

Hi tedin, if I understand you correctly you are able to use the ePrint service successfully from your smartphone but you are not able to print from your device to your printer over your local WiFi connection using Motorola Motoprint. I'm not familiar with that print app and you may need to refer to the help resources available to see if you can find a solution.
However you can also try to print using HP's free ePrint Home & Biz mobile printing app. You can download it from the Google Play app store here. It will work with your printer model over your local WiFi network.
Post back if you run into any problems trying to print using it.

  • Motorola Razr Maxx - Replacement Battery

Up for renewal in a couple of days, torn between the S3 and Razr Maxx.  I generally am partial to Motorola, also have heard good things about the Maxx battery life.  One concern was about the Maxx battery not being removable.
In general, I don't have good experiences with an original battery being fully functional for the 2 year life of the phone.  With regular use, charging it overnight or when its drained, have found batteries die much quicker after a year or so.  Usually this is no big deal, just buy a replacement battery when the original goes bad.  However with the Maxx, don't know if this is an option.
Is the battery replaceable in this phone?  If not by me, by Verizon tech support?

    Hey,
You bring out a good point that a lot of smartphone shoppers have in the back of their minds.  Battery life is one thing that is important, especially with screen displays getting bigger and bigger.  As far as Motorola intended, the battery is permanetly sealed in the Razr Maxx.  Removing it will probably void your warranty.  However, the battery life is very good with this model.
It is worthy to note, a lot other smartphones are made with permanent (sealed) batteries.  One big example is the Motorola Droid 4. another is the iPhone.  I did read somewhere that Apple will replace the battery for you for a fee.  I hope this answers your question about the Razr Maxx's battery.

  • Android 4.4 kitkat update?

I taught Nov. 7th would be the date that other Sony android devices will recieve the new 4.4 kitkat android version? But it's already Nov. 12th and it seems that there is no update about the version!

Sony will be updated to 4.3 next month and 4.4 at a later date, as per their blog: http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2013/11/07/on-jelly-bean-4-3-kit-kat-4-4/

  • Error while installing the Android 4.4 KitKat update - How do I fix it?

Hello, I'm having a problem in which my phone will not install the android 4.4 update on my droid mini successfully. My phone has downloaded it over Wi-Fi and 4G LTE but the installation itself never actually works.
After the first reboot during my installation, on my phone I see a picture of an android with a red exclamation sign that says Error. My phone reboots to the system and i see a notification box called "Software Update - Update Failed" and it's not working at all.
I'm downloading it for the third time now so this is really frustrating to me. Here is a picture of my System update information:

pacnet2014- It sounds like completing this update has been a hassle and that's not good. I have reviewed some information about your device and I see that others have had this issue. Have you tried completely master resetting the device? Try that and then try the software update again.

  • Suggestion: Album Art Lockscreen Wallpaper for Walkman on Kitkat Update

Hi Sony! i've been excited for the Android 4.4 Kitkat update with my Xperia Z1.

  • Possible update solution for some Jelly Bean issues on Razr Maxx

I bought a Razr Maxx used two weeks ago and wanted to a post a possible solution to the broken Jelly Bean update. My Razr Maxx (practically new) was slow, lagged, and gave me about 10 hours of battery life. Also, my Wi-Fi was horrible just 10 feet from the wireless router and it ran hot.
Before I chucked it for a used S3 I decided to do what others had done. Keep in mind, the phone had been previously factory reset after the JB update had been OTA'ed to the unit a few months ago. It was put in a drawer as the person bought a new phone.
So to be clear: It had gone through a factory reset but without clearing internal memory and had serious issues. I had cleared the Dalvik cache but it didn't help. Here's what fixed my phone:
I did a battery recalibration. This can be done by running the phone down to zero. Shutting it off and charging it overnight. This may have to be performed twice.
Backed up my files, removed the mSD card and from the OS, erased the internal storage. I also went into the Settings / Privacy and set Automatic Restore to off.
I cleared the Dalvik Cache again.
    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-razr-maxx/232462-how-wipe-cache-without-doing-factory-reset.html
    I  booted into safe mode.
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=50079
From the OS within safe mode, I performed a factory reset and had it clear the internal storage again.
    Started the setup process.
    Cleared Dalvik Cache again.
The result is a smooth "buttery" feel (well, as smooth as this platform can offer) no massive lagging like before where the phone would just lock up for five seconds, no over heating, WiFi is seemingly normal and battery life is Maxx instead of Min. To give you an idea, the phone had been on light use and on for maybe 13 on battery when I did the reset. I did the hard reset from a 65% battery and reinstalled all the apps over WiFi and reconfigured. At 2:30 a.m. it was at 1 percent so I set the screen to 100% brightness and played a video until it died about 3 a.m. Basically the screen was on and the phone being used from around 9 p.m. until 3 a.m. after coming off the charger at 8 a.m. the previous morning.
Will this work for you? I don't know but I know the Jelly Bean in place upgrade on this phone is pretty flaky from the complaints.
If your phone has been turned into a pile of junk by the update, you have nothing left to lose unless you're just using it as a bargaining chit to get a new phone from VZW.
Good luck to anyone who tries it.
If you are trying to diagnose battery issues, I recommend GSAM.

  • Droid Razr Maxx/Issues with Exchange Sync and Texting

I have a Droid Razr Maxx.  Since the KitKat update to 4.4 in May 2014, my Exchange email account will not sync. My Comcast account does.    If I power cycle the phone, it will sync the Exchange account for a short time until I receive the following error message:  'couldn't open connection to server due to sec..."  When I touch the error message, it just goes away.  If there is more of the error message, I'm unable to see it.  I have removed the Exchange account and added it back in three times.  My IT department indicates they have not made any changes to the security levels, but have fielded several questions from other Android users with the KitKat update.  My text messaging service also stopped.  I've been reviewing all forums and tried different things, but to no avail.  I went to the Verizon store, who just said that there have been 'lots' of complaints about KitKat and that I should buy a different phone.  This $200+ phone is only 7 months old.  Please help!!

After deleting and adding my Corporate account, visiting the local Verizon store several times, visiting my IT department, and now wiping the phone and re installing all software, the Corporate email still only syncs when I power cycle the phone.  We are a BYOD company which means every other phone works with the Exchange account.  My phone also worked up until the KitKat update in May 2014. The only recommendation I have received from Verizon is to replace my 8 month old Motorola Razr Maxx with a entirely different phone at full price. The tech I spoke with at Verizon made the statement that she has avoided updating to KitKat given all the customer issues she has had to deal with.
I'm in a technology field and understand when glitches occur, but also expect functionality issues to be addressed. I've been with both Verizon and Motorola for a long time, but very doubtful I will continue this relationship when contract time is up for renewal.  I'm carrying my iPad around to get the Corporate emails and the Razr Maxx has been relegated to just being a very expensive phone.

  • Droid Razr Maxx Internet Connection Problem

I have had the Droid Razr Maxx for several years.  Recently (especially since the last update), my Droid Razr Maxx's internet connection is extremely poor and mostly non-functional.  In fact, I normally shut off the WiFi since it rarely works.  It does not function in my home or any other place.  My router is fine and many other devices connect normally to my router (it is not the router).  This seems to be a Droid Razr Maxx problem.  I've removed all connections from the device, but nothing seems to work.  I included the phone information below.  Is there any viable solution to this problem?  I'd appreciate any help.
    Android version:  4.1.2
    System version: 98.72.165.XT912.Verizon.en.US
    Baseband version: CDMA_N_05.21.00RLTEDC_U_09.1D.00
    Webtop version: wt-3.0.0
    Kernal version:  2.0.8-g3617609   hudsoncm@ilclbld32 #1  SMP PREEMPT Thu Nov 21 14:19:19 CST 2013
    Build number: 9.8.20-72_VZW-16-5
Build date:  Thus Nov 21 14:10:17 CST 2013

Well, I think I may have figured out the problem.  The guest network on my router was apparently interfering with my regular network and not allowing my Droid Razr Maxx to connect.  Once I shut the guest network off, I've been connected to the Internet for 8 straight hours today.  No drops, just a clean connecting all day long and streaming music all day long!
So, for me, the solution to this issue was turning off the guest network on my router.

  • Razr Maxx and 4G

Looks like I'll be going back to my old LG Spectrum. It seems that 4G and the Motorola Razr Maxx don't get along. I have no problem getting 4G on my LG Sprectrum. So, good bye Motorola Razr, you've been benched.

There is a definite unofficially confirmed issue with both Razr's.
When I started having problems with my Razr and started escalating my calls I was sent w/o charge a brand stinking new Maxx - with the caveat from the network engneers and tier 2-3 support rep that I was going to have the same, random radio dropout.
This is NOT just a 4G dropout it's as if the radio's are simply switched off but with no visual indicator that it's occured. Everything got escalated when they figured out where I was so it could very likely be a combination of firmware on the towers in certain areas and the Razr radios. In fact, that is what I suspect. It seems possible that they rushed the 4G rollout in the Wichita area and are now having to backtrack to bring the towers up to speed.
P.S. "Tower" isn't the correct term but I don't know what is and since "tower" is the common term, it's what I use. I'm a LAN Network Engineer myself so using incorrect terminology bugs me lol.

  • Why does the Motorola Droid RAZR M wi-fi no longer work even when it says it is connected after the kitkat update?

Ever since the kitkat update to Android the wi-fi no longer autoconnects to the home network and when it is manually forced to it says it is connected but the internet does not work.  Tried soft-boots and deleting and reinstalling wi-fi connects and nothing helps.  Our data usage is skyrocketing since that is the only way the phone can connect to the internet now.  Previous to the update there were no issues with wi-fi connectivity.  Any assistance would be much appreciated as verizon has not been very helpful
    Thank you.
