Android 5 update, battery died now phone won't turn on on xperia z1

I started the lollipop update but my phone battery died halfway through. The phone now won't turn on. It did start charging, but now won't charge. It won't talk to my computer, it keeps saying USB not recognised and that it has malfunctioned. I have tried pressing the power button and volume buttons but not working. Tried the reset button, but it's not working. Phone won't turn on at all.

Performing a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

  • HT1688 did updates on apps now phone won't turn on

Did an update on my apps and now my phone won't turn on. I have held doen the on/off button, I get nothing. Tried charging it and I get nothing. The phone was at 96% charge before this happened. Please help.

    Try a hard reset:
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears, this can take 10 seconds or more, ignore the swipe to shutdown message.

phone started vibrating and wouldn't stop...now phone won't turn on

    See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • Updated latest version now phone won't power on

I just got a new iPhone 4 and updated the iOS. Now, the phone won't turn on. When I plug it in, it doesn't do anything either. There's no water damage or any other damage. What do I do?!

    Google
    fascinate won't update to eh03
Read through the first  post that comes up in the search
Follow instructions and you should be up and running in less than 10 minutes.
The other option is to take it to Verizon and have them send you a phone if you are still under warranty
    Hope this helps

  • Turned off iphone 5 to preserve its battery and now it won't turn back on

    Hello!
I've got my iPhone 5 16gb around 1 year now and today, i needed to preserve its battery life (97% remaining )so i turned it off. A few minutes in i needed to make a phone call but it won't turn back on. I've tried the recommended tips such as:
holding both home and lock screen button
    DFU mode
    Charging it
Nothing seems to work, i do not know whether the lock screen is broken or not or just whether its a battery or ios problem. Funny thing is that a few days before this incident, there was an 7.1.2 update so yeah idk. Please help. It will be a pain to buy another iPhone

    Hey there iDopey,
It sounds like you are currently unable to turn on your iPhone on or it is on, but the screen is black. First determine if the unit is on but has a black screen with this:
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
If this is the case follow the last step in this post. If not, then move on to this section:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
If that still does not resolve the issue:
    Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Updated ipod software now it won't turn on

Had screen replaced by alleged professional.  Wouldn't take a charge or turn on after the screen was replaced.  Returned to servicer - got the IPod screen working. The person who owned the IPod could not remember her password.  We had to erase but first update software via Itunes.  Now back to the same problem as before wont' take a charge or turn on.  Please help.  Also if you live in South Florida, don't use Apple ER in Hallandale, Florida....

Take it back to where you got it fixed or take it to another repair place. Apple will not help since someoe other than an Apple authorized place worked on it.

  • HT1688 I tried to update my iPhone 5 this morning with the new software update and now it won't turn on. When I plug into my itunes account, it says my phone is in recovery mode. Was working perfectly prior to the attempt to update. How do I fix this?

I tried to update my iPhone 5 this morning with the new software update. Now my phone won't turn on. When I plug into iTunes, it says that my phone is in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored to factory settings. Is there a way to fix this without losing my settings? Why would this happen on a software update?

That is not what it says. Read the message again. It's telling you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and it must be restored.
Restore it. You don't have a choice at this point.

  • I tried to update my sons iPad and now it won't turn on or off just a picture of a cable and I tunes symbol. Can it be fixed or is it broken I've seen posts saying their iPads died after doing updates.

I tried to update my sons iPad now it won't turn on or off it shows a cable and iTunes symbol tried holding down sleep button & screen button but no luck does this mean it's Broken I've seen posts saying their iPad died after doing updates.

It's not broken, it just means that the iPad has gone into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
You will need to connect the iPad, via its cable, to a computer's iTunes (you will need an up-to-date version of iTunes installed on the computer), and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync the content to it.

Hello Apple, is there anyone out threr?

  • HT4623 just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try DFU Mode Restore, here are the steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode. If still problem and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.
