Android APK installing on a Blackberry Z10?

Can someone share their experience with Android APK installing on a Blackberry Z10?
How did the Android apps work?
Thank you

I'm not a big app user, but, the Android apps I have installed seem to work fine for the most part.  Only two didn't work. One was a financial app that had a programing error that Android phones apparently overlook and my Z10 didn't. The other was a VPN program that needs something in the O/S to work properly.  And from what I recall about that issue was that the upcoming 10.3 O/S should resolve it.

    The WeChat application now available for BlackBerry 10

    If you want the Line application will have to install the cover of Android.
    Line must have the format bar and install on your z10 considering the OS 10.2.0.424
    No debugtoken and runs using Android ported applications with Jelly Bean.

  • What is the Dir location of the "Firefox or Android" APK on Android Phones? I can see most of the installed APK's with a different file mgr but not Firefox.

    I am not sure where the installation dir is for "Firefox for Android" on my Motorola ATRIX HD phone. Most of the the APK's can be found but I can't find where Firefox is installed. I am trying to put a previous version on but the one installed thru Google's App Store app on the phone doesn't provide info on type other than version number. As such, the Mozilla's FTP site provides various archived versions for mobile devices but trying to find the APK to ensure the proper archived version is used makes it impossible to do. I'm guessing it installs from the app store but doesn't put the APK on the phone. Or is something else at work here?

    Hi endyuser1233, the official build can be downloaded and installed from the Google play store. However the apk directory depends on the build:
    * /data/data/org.mozilla/fennec for nightly
    * /data/data/org.mozilla/firefox for release
    * /data/data/org.mozilla/firefox_beta
    */data/data/org.mozilla/fennec_aurora

    Here is one of the simplest methods.  Go to this link, download the appropriate version of Sachesi (http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/sachesi-firmware-extractor-searcher-installer-...
    BB Link must be installed, but not open. Place the file in a folder on your desktop, then launch it.  Connect to your device to your computer by USB.  When your device is recognised, click on the "Install" tab. Click the "BAR" button, select the BAR file.  It will load and show progress.  When complete, close Sachesi and disconnect your device.
    If you have questions, take a look through the thread where you downloaded Sachesi.
    Hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry Z10 STL100-1 update Blackberry Maps 10.1.0.805 install failed

    Device: BlackBerry Z10
    Model: STL100-1
    Software Release: 10.1.0.273
    OS Version: 10.1.0.1720
    Carrier: Beeline KZ
    Country: Kazakhstan
    1. Update for BlackBerry Maps downloaded but not installed. What may be the problem?
    2. Maps are not available for Kazakhstan now. When do you plan to run the support of this country?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Recently there was a problem with an update of Maps.  Maybe they haven't sorted yet.  It would install and then crash.  I always end up buying an after-market map system that runs on GPS using maps on board the SD card.  Interesting, I'm going to Kazakhstan next month. How's the weather in September?

  • MapMyIndia app does not install on my BB Z10

    The app - MapMyIndia does not install on my BB Z10. After downloading, it shows an error "promo code has expired". There was a press release which says that BB India has made this app available free to consumers in India as their native app BB Maps doesn't work in India. MapMyIndia guys say that BB has to activate the license for this app on my device from BB's end.
    Please help.

    I have successfully done it and here is a guide to help.
    What you need:
    1. A reasonably high end android device (I used Nexus 7 2012)
    2. Access to a computer to move files between devices (Windows 7 in my case)
    Steps:
    Install Sygic on the android device from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sygic.aura_mmi
    Run the installed app and let it download all necessary files
    You need to install the apk in Blackberry 10 device and later copy all necessary files from android to BB10 in order for Sygic to function properly.
    Install the same app in BB10 from Snap or you can copy directly from android if you have a rooted android.
    Don't run the app in BB10 as yet.
    Copy the below folder
    /sdcard/Android/obb/com.sygic.aura_mmi
    from android to below BB10 folder:
    Device/misc/android/Android/obb
    Basically these two directories are equivalent and Device/misc/android/ is sdcard for the android runtime inside BB10.
    Next you need to copy two folders from android to BB10
    /sdcard/Sygic
    /sdcard/Sygic_mmi
    to, you guessed right
    Device/misc/android/
    At this point you are done and you should be able to run Sygic normally in BB10, you can go ahead and download maps for all India

  • How to Install .bar files on Z10

    I tried to install .bar file on Z10 tried enabling development mode and downloading sideloading tool which is an .exe file which again cannot be opened. How to intal them?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Sachesi should do the trick. Look in these forums for the "Downloaded Applications for BlackBerry 10" section. There's a sticky at the top about installing Android apps, the Sachesi link is there.
    Cheers.

  • Blackberry Z10 Apps

    I went in and bought a new phone last weekend. I intended to buy an android phone but was talked into updating my Blackberry from the Torch to the Z10 instead.
    I am trying to download apps that all my friends (on android or iphones) have, and they don't seem to be available; for example: Starbucks, Save-On-Foods, Superstore.  All of them have apps that a person can download instead of carrying around reward cards.
    Why are none of these apps available on the new blackberry?

    Here are instructions for installing 1Mobile market. This is the easiest app to install as the 1Mobile market Android app can be installed directly via the Z10 device but not the nicest app available.
    http://crackberry.com/how-download-and-install-android-apps-using-1mobile-market-blackberry-10
    If you want to spend a few extra minutes installing it, but get a better, nicer, and smoother, app for installing Android apps I recommend the app called Snap. You have to install the Snap app with your computer and a USB cable. However, once it's insstalled it gives you a built-for-BlackBerry app that looks just like BBWorld for installing and updating Android apps. It's what I use and is really really nice.

  • BlackBerry Z10 - battery drains very quickly even in standby

    I have had two Blackberry Z10 phones, and at work the signal is little to none at times and the battery drains and I am not even using the phone. All email accounts and other services have been set to manual update only. A friend of mine had the exact same phone but an AT&T phone mine was Verizon. He had no problem with his in the same office and the same building. Is this a CDMA only problem or a Verizon problem? Love the phones and the way they work but the battery life at work is bad, at home where the signal is 3g and pretty steady I had no probems. I am due for an upgrade in June and am trying to find out if the Z30 for Verizon has the same problem. I have used a windows phone with the same size battery and a bigger screen same location same carrier with more use and no problem.
    Thanks

    What Android apps do you have installed?
    Try this first off, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    Watch your device another day and see how it goes.

  • 2015 / BlackBerry Z10 (STL100-2) stuck at 99% OS 10.3 ...

    Hello, Yesterday my device said it had an update (10.3) and it's now stuck on the boot screen (installing updates / starting BlackBerry 10 OS) at 98%, it goes really slow to 98% (12 hours). I've tried to reinstall 3 times now, and it's always the same, takes ages to get to 98% and stays there.  What to do?

    PLEASE READ:IF NOT ALREADY CORRUPTED; IT WILL WIPE ALL OF YOUR DATA, ALL OF IT. And before you get to excited, I downloaded the one for 10.3 as well, and guess what, we're stuck at 97% for 5minutes now, I see where this is going--but at least you can download a decent version of 10.2....  Those work fine. Download for STL100-2 if you have a European Z10 like me.
