Android App Push Notifications

Singe the 7.4.00075 server updated I did yesterday around noon, I have not been getting push notifications on my Android Spiceworks app (v. 3.0.2).
Notifications are on in the app, and on the server.
Has anyone else had this issue?

  • Facebook and Messenger app Push Notifications not working.

    I have an iPhone 3GS and iPad 2 and my Facebook app and Messenger Push notifications just decided to stop working literally minutes after it just did. How can I fix this? I am running the lastest version of iOS 7 on my iPad and 6.1 on my iPhone. Please, help. I've googled this but there was only one page on the Facebook site that was unhelpful. Thanks, in advance.

    I've already tried reinstalling and restarting both devices.  I now get comment notifications on my ipad but no chat and still nothing on my phone. I don't understand what happened. It was working 2 hours ago.

  • Facebook For iOS App Push Notifications Not Working

    Been seeing a lot of Threads for this problem but with no proper solution.
    Ever since I updated my Facebook App to v9.0, I havent had any push notifications come to my phone. I've tried uninstalling/deleting the app & other connected apps (Paper, FB messenger) , logging out of the iOS integration, Resetting my phone, etc. but nothing's worked. The App doesn't even ask me if I want to Activate Notifications anymore when I Re-Install it....
    The Phone Notifications are set to show in the lock screen & all, and the Push Notifications in the app are set to push for "All Notifications", but On the Web client I noticed that I had "Some notifications" listed in the settings (and I can't change those on the web, because it tells you to change them in the app) . The only way I know i have Notifications now is through the App Badge,, via Email or through Paper's Notification setup (But i still dont get all of them) ...
    I wonder if it could be a server issue on Faceobook's End. There has to be some way to fix this problem....Help!!!

    Hi C_S1,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are having some issues with Facebook notifications on your iPhone. It sounds like you have already done some great troubleshooting. I suggest looking at the Troubleshooting notifications section of the following article just to verify your previous steps.
    iOS: Understanding notifications
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3576
    Troubleshooting notifications
    Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
    Note: Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications. For more information, see Unable to use Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
    If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
    Verify that the app supports notifications.
    After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
    Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
    I hope this helps,

  • WP8 SL and WP8.1 SL app push notification using wns

    Hi,
    I am new to windows phone push notification. I am aware that there are two service which can be used for push notification WNS and MPNS(Server). I have a silverlight app for both windows phone 8 and windows phone 8.1. Doubt I have, Will WNS work for this
    app? If yes any client side changes are required to receive the notification or it will work with the old MPN client implementation used for WP8?

    MPN Notification works on Windows Phone 8.0 and Windows Phone 8.1 Silverlight apps. WNS Notification Service works on both Windows Phone 8.1 Silverlight and Windows Phone 8.1 Runtime apps. So you can choose either of them.

    Thanks for reply,
    So you mean to say if I have single app for WP8 SL and WP8.1 SL I can not go with server implementation using WNS.
    According to slides at link http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2014/2-521(Silde no- 11), it says existing MPN code needs not to be changed. So I suppose existing MPN code(Client) should work with WNS server side, Please correct me if am wrong.

    Hey gingertodd0911,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    This article has information that may help you resolve the issue with no push notifications for that app on your iPhone 5s.

  • No push notifications in iOS 7.1

    Hi, I have a problem with my push notifications since I updated to iOS 7.1. I do get push notifications from my Mail app, but Whatsapp and Facebook fail to do this. Quite annoying... Does anyone else have this problem?

    I'm seeing similar issues, although only for certain apps - for some apps, push notifications are still working after updating to iOS 7.1, but for other apps the push notifications have stopped working. And the settings in the Notifications centre are the same as before the update when notifications were working.

  • Not receiving any push notifications whilst on carrier network

    Hi,
    This problem has come up about 1-2 months ago, before then the push notifications behaved as they shoud. But now I only get notifications if i'm connected to my (or actually ANY) WIFI network. If i'm outside connected to my carriers 3g netwerk they just dont come up, eventhough I DO have internet, because when i manually open for instance Whatsapp, i DO get the new messages. Some info:
    iPhone 4 at 4.3.2
    neverlocked (from Belgium, I live in the Netherlands)
    and my carrier is T-Mobile NL
    I really hope any of you can help me in any way!
    ~Jordy

    It's not my email im having problems with.. It's the app push notifications like with Whatsapp or Facebook (But come to think of it, i dont always get all the mail pushed either but that doesnt bother me THAT much).
    Its just that i only get push notifications if i lock my phone while whaptsapp was running (so it secretly keeps a connection open) OR if i am connected to a wifi network.

  • Push Notifications in iOS 7

    With iOS 7.0.2 I have noticed that some apps like Mail, Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger don't receive push notifications like they did before.
    I tried to clear all data and restore the firmware but it keeps happening. I don't know what else to try.
    I want to know if it's another problem of iOS 7 or on the contrary is a error of my iPhone.

    I'm seeing similar issues, although only for certain apps - for some apps, push notifications are still working after updating to iOS 7.1, but for other apps the push notifications have stopped working. And the settings in the Notifications centre are the same as before the update when notifications were working.

  • Push notifications for iOS 7 updates

    When I receive a push notifications that there is an update available for the newest version of iOS 7....will it automatically download and install or will it give me the option to not download and do it at another time. I see that the notification appears and I have to hit "ok" but will it force me to download it right then and there or can I wait until later.  I only ask because I have a limited data allowance available and would rather download it when it is more convenient for me.
    Thanks for the help that anyone can give.

  • Push Notification Fix

    I had a problem getting both the Associated Press app push notifications working after recently upgrading from an AT&T 3Gs to a Verizon 4s.  The same day I upgraded, I reset my old phone (for sale on eBay) and installed AP on my new phone, and apparently Apple's Push Notification Service (APNS) got confused about what Device ID the app was installed on.   Bottom line, no amount of reinstalling iOS 5, reinstalling the app, etc. would fix the problem.
    Here's what I learned -- APNS will register the uninstall of the app after about a day (I waited 2 days just be sure).  Reinstalled, and was finally getting push notifications!  [Apparently you can manually set the date on your phone to the next day, reinstall the app and that can fix the problem too but I didn't try that.  I found this information trolling a site for developer's working on apps with push feature.]
    Hope this helps others -- I tried search for days and most articles had to do with hacktivation/jail breaking issues which didn't apply.
    Regards.

  • Android devices not getting push notifications after a while

    We have just installed a new Exchange 2013 setup and started to move mailboxes across. Users that have Android devices though are noticing that push notifications are not reaching them and checking in the ECP I can see their last sync times are a long time
    ago!
    If they restart their devices then the sync occurs and push notifications work for about half a day then stop again.
    We have no issues with any iOS devices getting push notifications. We have a range of Android JellyBean and KitKat deployed so not looking device related. If I turn off push notification on the Android device and force a manual sync every 5 minutes that
    works and currently seems to be my workaround. But this will drain the battery quicker now.
    The flow of notification would be simple, Exchange2013 > Firewall > Internet > Device
    Anyone else experiencing issues like this and know what to check? We have checked all networking aspects and its not a network/firewall issue.

    After hours of searching online and testing and troubleshooting I found the issue actually was affecting push notifications to all mobile devices on Exchange 2013 where their mailboxes had been migrated recently from Exchange 2010.
    There is a bug in Exchange 2013 CU5 which I am on which causes issues after mailbox migrations and requires the ActiveSync app pool in IIS to require a restart after mailbox moves to function correctly.
    After I completed an iisreset within a command prompt on the CAS server everything started working for push notifications.
    Lets hope this gets fixed in CU6!

  • Pushing notifications to android emulator behind a proxy

    Hi Guys
    I hope this is the correct place to ask this question - if not please direct me.
    I'm attempting to build an android app (in the emulator) that receives push notifications from Azure/gcm.
    I'm also using eclipse ADT in a windows 8.1 for the android dev' work.
    I have been attempting to apply the tutorial
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/notification-hubs-android-get-started/#connecting-app
    The registration process works correctly and I receive a registration ID from the Google CloudMessagingService which i then use to register a NotificationHub (from which I  receive a registration ID )
    Where I seem to be having problems is when i try and send an Android  (Random Broadcast) message from the Azure management Portal.
    {"data":{"message":"Notification Hub test notification"}}
    The message never arrives at my app (in the emulator) as
    @Override
    public void onReceive(Context context, Bundle bundle) {
    ctx = context;
    String nhMessage = bundle.getString("message");
    // sendNotification(nhMessage);
    mainActivity.DialogNotify("Received Notification",nhMessage);
    doesnt fire. (but does in the registration process)
    (Azure says the message was delivered)
    So I'm wondering if theres something i'm missing - perhaps surrounding the proxy server i'm behind? Or something else to do with the emulator?
    regards

  • Android Push Notification of the New GCM release using Coldfusion

    Is there any similar push notification solution/Tutorial but this time for the Android?
    Something similar to this tutorial but with Android GCM using coldfusion to send from my dedicated server to the registered devices:
    http://www.raymondcamden.com/index.cfm/2010/9/13/Guest-Post-Apple-Push -Notifications-From-ColdFusion-in-Ten-Minutes-or-Less
    Thanks in advance
    Talal

    well after diving and testing here and there I found a way and successfully tested.
    1> First and formost, the developer need to follow the procedures in this page:
    http://developer.android.com/guide/google/gcm/gs.html
    2> In the app side, you will send users devices information; but all that matters is only the "registration id" , so make sure you save this in the database coz you'll use it to loop through your database records when sending notifications.
    3> Now the server side script in Coldfusion which is really easy:
    <!---Place this above your html tag--->
    <cfsetting requesttimeout="80000000000000">
    <cfset appName = 'YourAppName'>
    <cfset registrationArray = ArrayNew(1)>
    <cfquery datasource="devicesDSN" name="rsCount">
        SELECT COUNT(intGCMuserID) AS TotalRecords
        FROM gcmusers_tbl
        WHERE appName = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_clob" value="#appName#">
    </cfquery>
    <!---Google is limited to send only to 1000 devices at a time so we need to nest the cfloop of the array inside another cfloop pertaining to our total recordCount from the recordset so we'll use the Ceiling to control the number of loops needed to make sure we sent to all the users if they exceed google limit--->
    <cfset LoopingNo = Ceiling(rsCount.TotalRecords/1000)>
    <cfset fromRec = 1>
    <cfset toRec = 1000>
    <!---Now place the following code inside the body tag of your cfm page--->
    <cfif isDefined("FORM.pushButton")>
        <cfquery datasource="devicesDSN" name="rs">

  • Push Notification in Android

    Hi,
    We were wondering what other DPS users are doing in terms of sending push notifications to Android users.
    We understand its not incorporated into DPS the way push notifications to iOS is, but are people really unpacking their APK packages and editing their manifest files to connect a 3rd party service to their app? Is that really the only way?
