Android Auto and Adobe Acrobat DC with Galaxy S5

I have recently upgraded to Lollipop. I had an earlier build but I factory reset due to battery drain (this did not resolve the issue).
I upgraded so that I could use Android Auto. No matter what, this phone will not launch this app when needed when connected to a Pioneer system.
In the newly upgraded Adobe Acrobat DC, the application launches the Verizon Cloud app instead of the phone's file system when using the floating action button for opening a file.
Since "proper" behavior in Acrobat Reader occurs when Cloud is disabled, I can only assume that Verizon has baked something into the Cloud app that makes it supersede the Android file system in this context.
As I like to use Cloud to back up contacts and phone/message history, I'd rather not disable it. Can anyone point me to a setting that loosens Cloud's hold on my system?

With regard to the Adobe issue I have found the solution. If you use the Verizon Cloud app, you have to download a file manager app (like ES File Explorer) and make it the default when prompted. Then Adobe will stop using the Verizon Cloud app. Otherwise, disable Verizon Cloud to keep this from happening.

How do I/can I re-order pages scanned into a PDF file in the latest Android version of Adobe Reader for my Galaxy S3?

No version of Adobe Reader can re-order pages. You can do this with Acrobat, however (for Mac and Windows).

  • Win 7 and Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional

I have a user with win 7 and adobe acrobat 8 pro and in the digital signature on the PDF, it has a question mark and a pick of a person over it on the left hand side.  I have reimaged the machine, recreated the signature, same thing.  Logged onto his computer as me, so a different profile, and it does the same thing.  Emailed it to me on my computer and it works fine.  No pics on the signature line.  Anybody ever seen this?

  • Font difference between MS WORD and Adobe Acrobat Pro

I am facing an issue with Font difference between the PDF's which are created through MS word "Save as PDF" utility and Adobe PDF maker add-on. Let me explain what my analysis detail.
    1. Both MS word and Adobe acrobat using the font from the windows\fonts folder where my font Univers ATT font resides.  I have confirmed this with the Acrobat distiller. below is the screenshot.
    2. If I check the font properties through File->properties->Fonts tab both PDF font properties looks same.
    Save as PDF
    Adobe PDF
When comparing the PDF we are able to see the font formatting mismatch between these two PDF. Below screenshot.
Please advise me how to resolve the issue. The form should be match in formatting level also in order to proceed the implementation in my project.
    Expecting your answer soon.

    Thank you Bill.
Actually the difference not showing until we are selecting the Formatting option. The below screenshots illustrate the same.
    Comparing two documents:
The difference not showing before selecting formatting.
    Selecting the formatting option.
Once selected the formatting I am getting the formatting level difference between the PDF's. One is created with MS word SAVE AS PDF utility. The other PDF created with ADOBE PDFMAKER.
The comment pop-up clearly says in terms of font, fill color there should be difference. But I am not sure how Compare documents option comparing and showing the result. What all are the factors would be consider during comparison. Please help. Until resolving the issue I can't resume my project. Thanks in advance.

The Acrobat 9.x product family passed into "End of Support" mid-year of 2013.
Acrobat 9 support of MS Project via PDFMaker stops with Office 2007.
For Office 2013 support you must use Acrobat XI (11.0.1) or newer.
    A good to have reference:

Acrobat Pro and Standard DC are what are currently available for purchase.

  • I am having autocad not respond when I am making a pdf using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI

I am having autocad not respond when I am making a pdf using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI
We have adobe acrobat 8 on another system that seems to work fine,  what elsedo we need to do to get this trial version to work properly.
We are able to get everything set up , sized, etc,  but when the actual process starts it is stating  "autocad not responding and it  just spins and never makes the actual final pdf.
Any help on this would be appreciated

It's probably a compatibility problem with the updated PDF libraries vs. you hopelessly old ACAD that can't be resolved. In any case, I'd consider it one of those things of trying to attack the problem on the wrong end. All major CAD programs have native PDF export these days and even ACAD has had since v2006 at least...

  • Safari (and Adobe Acrobat Pro) take minutes to quit!!!

Safari 4.0.4 (and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2.0) take several minutes to quit on Mactel with Mac OS X 10.5.8. I thought that they had frozen after selecting to quit such applications, or logout, restart or shutdown the Mac, but if I leave the Mac for several minutes, they eventually quit.
What can it be? The Console does not indicate any special activity.

Thanks for the reply. Short answer: Safari, or Acrobat Pro.
In short, if I open Safari (or Acrobat Pro, or both), and quit them after a while (a few minutes or so), no problem. They quit as expected.
But if I open any of them (or both) in the morning (I cold boot the Mac in the morning and shut it down at night every single day) and try to quit any of them (Safari or Acrobat) at night, each one of them takes several minutes to quit. In fact, if instead of quitting them I try to shut down, I get the error:
"Logout has timed out" - "The application Safari failed to quit and is not responding"
    or
"Logout has timed out" - "The application Acrobat failed to quit and is not responding"
If then I leave the Mac idle a few minutes and them try to shut down the Mac again, it shuts down (this time, immediately; in one second or so).
IN SUMMARY. Something is preventing Safari (and the same for Acrobat Pro) to shut down normally in a few seconds. Instead, they need minutes to shut down.

    Schade.
    Mit freundlichen Grüßen

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

This usually occurs if you use a browser that uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • SAP  6.00   and  Adobe Acrobat Reader 9

    Hi   gurus,
Can someone know why SAP 6.0  and Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 was not compatible ?
    Thanks a lot
    Soufiene

    Hi Soufiene,
The last homologated version by SAP was 8.2. There are already some people using v9 and working fine, but I cannot assure support on any issue on it.
You should refer to PAM (product matrix availability) site to know everything that is homologated and supported by SAP:
    http://service.sap.com/pam
    I hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Cristiano
