Android Market Error

Every few days (or every few attempts) when I try to go to the market for some apps, I get a white screen that reads "Market needs background data to be enabled." The funny thing is, it's enabled and it will eventually correct itself without any help from me, however I don't want to wait a few days for it to go back to normal. I don't know what to do and it's kind of **bleep** me off. I never get anything like that on my ipad (and I was talked into getting the htc thunderbolt over the iphone4 by the sales girl at a best buy cell phone store in the mall, already found out she lied about so many freakin' things.)  I'm wondering if there's a way to fix this, if it's something the android market does frequently or if it's just my phone, and what I can do about it.
Thanks for any help. Sorry if it's been posted before, I didn't really know what to search for.

Good afternoon and thank you to the community for your suggestions!
elisha, I know you have tried several different things to resolve this issue, but I don't see you have tried to reset the Market application.  Have you already tried this?  If not, please follow the steps below.
1. From the Home screen, select the applications tab (lower-left corner).
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Applications.
4. Select Manage applications.
5. Select the application. (Market)
6. Select Force stop then select Clear data.
7. Select OK.
Once this is completed, please try restarting your device, and you should stop getting the error message when attempting to access the Market.
Reset device:
1. Press and hold down the Power button (upper-right corner).
2. Select Power off.
3. Press the Power key to power on the device.
If you need additional assistance, please send me a Private message and  I will be happy to help you!
Thank you,

  • Error message in Android Market

When i got the new android market now when i go into the market and then go to my app to check for updates i get an error message (a server error has occurred. Retry or cancel and then just crashes anyone seeing this need help.

On your device you will want to do a soft reset by powering the device off for 5 seconds then power back on. Once powered back on, you will dial *228 and press send. You will be provided with options to select and you will select option 1 to re-program your device. Your phone will then reboot after the process has been completed.

  • Android Market

Is anyone else having problems loading the Android Market? I am on the "worst phone ever" Droid Eris and I continue to get that a server error has occurred. I have tried rebooting phone, using both mobile data and wifi, and even a factory reset. 2.1 has completely killed my phone. I am just wondering if other people are having problems loading the market.

Hi.  I understand that you are having issues accessing the Android market and I can certainly look into this for you.   Have this been only going on after the 2.1 update?   Did you download any applications after the update?
    Waiting on your reply
    Thanks!

  • No downloads for android market

My market app downloads are in my droid but I am having intermittent problems having them show up on my Droid, I get the error, " no downloads for android market" I have taken out the battery and yet the downloads will not show up.
Why did is this happening all of a sudden and how do I  fixit?

You can try clearing the data from your market app, menu>settings>applications>manage applications, select the all tab at the top of the screen, scroll down to market and select it, then choose clear data (also clear cache if available).  Then restart your phone and go into the market app.  You will have to agree to the terms of service again, but hopefully it helps.

  • Multi Folio pricing in Android Market

    Hi,
I am a bit confused how I set the price for each edition of my magzine in the Android Market. I am working with DPS Pro. After I create my App with the Viewer Builder I upload it to the Android Market as free. Each of my folios I then publish as Public and Retail. At no point am I asked what I want to charge for those editions in my App. When they get pushed to my App there is a 'Buy' button but pressing that produces an error 'The item that you requested is not available for purchase' Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

On a related topic, am I right in saying Multifolio pricing is not yet available on the Amazon App store. That link you gave me Bob said "Details about setting up in-app purchases and subscriptions [for Amazon] are not yet available." I had a look around the Amazon App developer portal and while you can have a list price for the App I dont see in App pricing mentioned anywhere. Is the only current option to have a seperate build for each maagzine edition?

  • I have a htc wildfire, and if i try to install firefox from android market place it says that my device is not compatible with firefox. how can i install it ?

i have a htc wildfire, and if i try to install firefox from android market place it says that my device is not compatible with firefox. how can i install it ?

According to a random website... the HTC Wildfire S uses a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This processor unfortunately does not support the full ARM version 7 instruction set, so Firefox cannot run on it.

  • How can I publish a tablet size only app to the android market using Flash CS5.5?

I've developed an app to run on a tablet and would like to sell it in Googles Android Maket.    I uploaded the .apk file to the android market however, the settings indicate that the app will work on small to large screen sizes.
Is there anyway I can specify that the app is only suitable for large (tablet) size devices?  I believe there are some tags in the <manifest> section, which I think must be part of the .apk package Flash creates.
    <supports-screens
    android:smallScreens="true"
    android:normalScreens= "true"
    android:largeScreens="true"
    android:xlargeScreens="true"
    android:anyDensity="true" />
Can I alter these tags manually somewhere or is there some other way to specify the device size?

If you publish folio as Public/free then it will appear in app library and users can download folio and read folio content. You can test folio in ACV.
If you publish folio as Public/retail then it will only appear in library once associated in-apppurchase is approved by Apple. You can test folio in developer.ipa.
Woraround: You can create test app and keep title id as your application account in whch you published your folio and test developer.ipa. If folio is working fine in test app then publish it in LIve app.

i tryed downloading soldier boy on my iphone 4 useing android market but it says there are no android phone associated

The Android Market is for Android phones. To download apps for the iPhone, you need to use the iTunes App Store. Software for the Android OS is not compatible with the iPhone and vice versa.

  • Not finding Mozilla Firefox in android market place and site not found thru default browser either Feb. 11, 2011

I want to install Firefox on my htc droid. I searched market place; not found. When I use default browser on the phone (google) and type in url as instructed on website, I get site not found.

Firefox cannot be downloaded from the Android Market on phones with incompatible processors. For more information, and to check your phone's compatibility, see:

  • Download in the Android Market is not working Samsung Captivate

When trying to download in the market it says it is not found.

This problem appears to be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update and we continue to investigate the cause. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose Uninstall you can uninstall the update and then you should be able to search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.
Or, you can check if your phone is supported here:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
and then download the app directly from here:
    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/4.0b3/android-r7/multi/
(Note: If your phone is from AT&T, you will have to search for instructions on "sideloading" the APK file, since AT&T disables the option to install from non-Market sources.)

My oracle apex on a hosting company, so how can I publish on Android or Apple?Other than by using PhoneGap linked to above, it's not possible. The app stores only accept native apps developed using the relevant SDKs.
Developing a write-once, run anywhere web-based mobile app frees you from this and any other restrictions imposed by app store owners.

  • Firefox ftp download is not available? Where can I download latest version outside the Android market?

The ftp only provides 701 and 806beta but not the final release, please update, since there are still users out there with Android Market access like me on Toshiba AC 100.
    Thanks Frank

At teh following link you can have all versions build up by Mozilla: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/
You have nightly (birch+aurora+nightly ), release candidates (beta) final versions :)

  • K1 Android Market PLEASE UPDATE THIS!!!!

Please update the android market!! I am sick of finding incompatible apps, that if I download the apk from another market or site I can install and work fine. This device is being limited by Lenovo market from the sounds of it, which in turn google will not update to the current market. I really want movies and music via my google account. Why do you advertise the android market when it is limited.

I posted this in another thread but thought it would be more appropriate here.
So it gets more interesting. After manually installing the Market APK I've noticed the following:
    1. Going to Settings -> Manage Applications -> All, I can see two Market versions! The original one (v 1.0.28) as well as new. Ttere must be something unique about the original Lenovo version since there's no way to uninstall it and it's not being replaced.
    2. There's only one Market in the app drawer. That market always takes me to the original Market.
    3. To get to the new Market, I have to launch the old Market, click on 'My Apps'.
    4. You can set the PIN control from the new market.
    5. New Market has Apps, Music, and Books.
    6. But still no Videos...
    Builds:
    01/18/2012 - K1_A301_14_14_120109_US
    01//2012 - K1_A301_13_13_111209_US

  • Adobe Air is NOT at the android market

Hi, I'm having big problems when trying to install adobe air for android.
It's not at the android market. I tried scanning a bar code, searching with the phone, downloading an Air app that directs you to the market and searching in my pc in google, but all the links go to the same place: no Air.
I also tried installing the apk that comes with the Air SDK but it tells me that I have an older version of something.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong?
Thanks in advance, I'm quite desperate, I have a Motorola Droid and some games to make!

The Android Market only shows applications that are compatible with your phone. I don't know the history of the Droid, is it possible that you have an older version that doesn't meet the minimum system requirements?
