Android receiving jumbled texts

Hi,
About a year ago, my boyfriend and I both had Droids (different ones), and every so often he would get a text from me that was half of what I sent him and half of a text I sent him months earlier. I thought the problem was with my phone. I reset my operating system and deleted all my old texts. We broke up a few months ago, and I got an IPhone. The new person I'm dating has a Droid, and he suddenly is having the same problem. He is getting a text from me that is half of what I intended to send and half of a message I sent him a few weeks ago, messages that have long sense been deleted. On my phone, the text is intact, but if he forwards back to me what he got, it isn't what was on my screen. I'm reading online that the problem seems to be in the receiving Droid, not the sender. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix that you know of? Sometimes the texts can sound suspicious unless they remember you sending it to them long ago.

Yes, that is strange RunRachael!  I would love the opportunity to help.  How often is this happening?  What model Droid device does your boyfriend have?  Has he installed any type of "messaging" application?  If so, please have him uninstall and retest.  Keep us posted with the results.  Thanks!

When I send inline (embedded) photos, along with text; my recipients say they only receive a jumbled text file. Is there a setting within TB I can change to correct this? See below:

the fastest way is to call applecare and they can remove her number from iMessage/facetime.

  • The only person my mother's iphone 4 is unable to send text to.  She can receive my texts from android.

My mother has an iphone4; she is able to receive texts from me (android samsung galaxy s5) but I am unable to receive her texts.  I notice my phone number appears odd when my texts come in to her... we've deleted contacts and re-added.  She is able to text back and forth from my husband with his android without problem. ideas?

Try deleting your contact from her iPhone4 (but don't re-add it back).  Also delete her contact from your Galaxy.  Send her a text and see if she can reply.  If that works, the problem has to do with the nature of your contact info; try adding the contacts back, one at a time, supplying minimum information, testing each time.

It isn't your issue, it is his. He needs to make sure he has turned of iMessage and removed his number from the iMessage database. If he does not still have the device, he needs to contact Apple Care to take care of it.

You use Restore to get the latest firmware build, not the Update button. You can only use the Update button, if there is an iOS update, say iOS 5.1.
this link talks about updating to 9A406 to fix the "No Service" issue with iPhone 4S:

  • Help! Does anyone know have a solution for android phone to receive my text after I sent a lot of emoticons in a message?

Help! After sending a lot of emoticons through text from my iphone 3gs to galaxy s3 he can no longer receive my text message. I am able to receive his text but he can't receive my text message. We can both receive other peoples text messages fine. I tired deleting his number but that doesn't work. I rest my network and turn off/on on my phone that still doesn't work. If you had the same problem please help me thanks.

Are you able to text anyone else that does not have an iPhone since this occurred? My only other suggestion would be to contact your carriers, both of you, and see if there is an issue with your texting plans. The carriers may have to reset your account. The only things close to this that I have seen have been an iPhone locking up after receiving a message with multiple emoticons, or someone that used to have an iPhone but does not have one having issues receiving texts because of forgetting to sign out of iMessage.
You say that you reset your network settings and powered the phone off/on. Have you tried a reset. This will have no affect on your data. Hold the home and sleep/wake buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This will reboot the phone. If that doesn't work, then I would go the carrier route I described above.

  • Why can I no longer receive any text messages with my LG Lucid 2?

    Hi,
I have been using my phone for nearly a year now, and this problem started happening earlier this week. I can still send txt messages, but I can no longer receive any texts from anyone (no matter if the person who is sending me a text is using an Android or iphone). What should I do to solve this issue? Please help!

Hi Ho-Jun - Let's get those messages flowing again! Are you using the native messaging application or a 3rd party download? Have you restarted the phone since this began? I am eager to get this resolved once and for all!
    Thank you,

  • IPhone not receiving calls, and receiving double texts

I have read through these forums, and searched this on google and haven't found a solution to this problem, or anybody with a similar issue.
Over the last two to three weeks, I have had many people telling me they'll call, and it won't go to voicemail, but instead it'll state that # is not reciving calls at the moment, my phone will be turned on and will never ring. Also along with that I'll have an issue where I am receiving double text messages from time to time, it'll happen at least 5 times a day.
I would take my phone to Apple, but as it'll be hard to produce these results at the genius bar I'm not sure they'll be able to do much, and my iP4 is out of warranty.
So far I've tried these things:
    System Restore
    Reset All Settings
    Reset Network Settings
None of these work, the Restore will work for a day or two, but the issue will come back everytime.
Thanks for any help you all may be able to provide.

Well another issue I've been having with the phone, which I forgot to mention that leads me to think it's a phone issue, is it'll keep locking up in apps, and the home button will become non-responsive. I'll have to use the standby button to put the phone to sleep, then wake it up and then the home button will start working again.
The issues may be seperate, but it seemed to all start happening at the same time.

  • When talking through normal text(not imessage), my texts send fine however,I don't receive all texts.

When sending a text via normal texting ( I turn my mobile data off whilst out and not on WiFi so I am not using IMessage ) I can send the message without a problem. However when the text reaches the person ive sent it to and they reply,I don't always receive the text they have replied with. I have tried doing simple things like turning the mobile data on and off again and nothing has changed, still not receiving all the texts I get sent. Any idea why this could be happening?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
If the issues continue, you may need to consider restoring as new.

  • Can't send or receive SMS text

Purchased a Curve on Tuesday and simply extended my current plan which includes texting.
My Blackberry tells me I've sent SMS (check mark shows) but no one receives them, and I am not receiving their texts in return.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think the fastest way is to contact your carrier hotline.

  • HT5824 I switched over from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy S3 & I haven't been able to receive any text messages from iPhones. Please help with turning my iMessage completely off..

I switched over from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy S3 & I haven't been able to receive any text messages from iPhones. I have no problem sending the text messages but I'm not receivng any from iPhones at all. It has been about a week now that I'm having this problem. I've already tried fixing it myself and I also went into the sprint store, they tried everything as well. My last option was to contact Apple directly. Please help with turning my iMessage completely off so that I can receive my texts.

If you registered your iPhone with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it.  Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

  • Wife and I have an Iphone 4s, she receives my text, but the history on my IPhone disappears as soon as I send a text to her. I also do not receive any of her text messages. Any ideas how to fix this?

Both my wife and I have an IPhone 4s.  All of a sudden, when I text her, she receives my text, but the history on my IPhone disappears as soon as I send the text.  Also, I don’t receive any of her text messages.  Though while testing and trying to troubleshoot, I have sent a text message from her phone to my phone and I do hear the text sound message go off on my phone but no text.  Though I on my icon, I do see I have 1 new text message and as soon as I click on it, the text message will disappear if it’s from her. Now I have noticed when I call her the history also disappears now.  I can call her and she can call me from the phone successfully.  Just can’t receive any of her text message and no history is retrieve from my phone. Can anyone please help??? Just to share, I have hard booted both phones, deleted and re-added our contact information and in the ‘Message’ settings, we both have the message ‘on’, Send as SMS ‘on’, MMS Messaging ‘on’ and under the ‘send and Receive’ field, it has my number listed with a 1 and area code…1 (210) xxx-xxxx.

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage.   There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.
I would just wait it out - I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.

  • HT4436 Why is my daughter receiving my text messages on her itouch when I send them from my iphone? We are both on icloud so how can I separate the two? Do I need another icould or apple account??

Why is my daughter receiving my text messages on her itouch when I send them from my iphone? We are both on icloud so how can I separate the two? Do I need another icould or apple account??

It's happening because you are using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  You don't need to do anything with your iCloud account to fix this.  You should create a separate Apple ID for her device to use with iMessage and FaceTime.  (You can continue to share the same ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores if you wish; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID you use for other services.)  Once you've done this, on her device go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.  Do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
Another caution is that if you share and iCloud account with her, any data you both sync with the account such as contacts, will be merged and the merged data will appear on both devices.  If you don't want to end up with each other's contacts, calendars, etc. on your devices, you should have separate iCloud accounts to.  If you want to make this change, go to Settings>iCloud on her device and tap Delete Account.  (This only deletes the account from the device, not from iCloud.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data be sure to choose Keep On My iPod.  Then set up a new iCloud account with her new ID, turn on iCloud data syncing again, and when prompted choose Merge.
