Android updates

If you have been on the web during the last 48 hours, three Android Kit Kat updates got pushed out. What's not shocking is that none of these updates occurred on Verizon phones. Two were on AT&T and One was on Sprint.
As has been done in the past, I could sit here and bash Verizon for there lack of action, but that's not what this post is about.
The question I seek answers to is Verizon's lack of communication. Verizon could solve a lot of there problems with us and the various websites that communicate Android news if they would just talk to us.
If there are problem(s) with 4.4.2, then they need to open a dialogue with us. Tell us what's wrong and what's steps there taking.
Shareholders may own Verizon, but subscribers like you & me keep it a float and keep those dividend checks rolling out.
Constant alienation leads to eventual dissatisfaction. Dissatisfaction eventually leads to less subscribers. If your on a share plan with nothing to lose, then you will eventually vote with your pocket book and go where you can get the best price.
I only remain on verizon because I have the perk of unlimited data.

I am surprised it hasn't happened yet... Since the Motorola Droid has been released it has always been the same complaints from techies. Yet Verizon still has the lowest churn rates and still number one in total customers. I think because non techies outweigh the techies by a large margin where they don't care about updates as log as their phone works. I see it at my work place a lot often someone is on an older version not knowing there is an update. Some got mad when they went from 2.3 to 4.0 because the whole layout changed in a lot of places.

Google contact sync gets hung since 4.4.2 OTA android update

My S4 stopped completing Google contact syncs after the last Android update. All other Google tools complete the sync (App Data, Calendar, Drive, Gmail, etc), but the little arrow circle next to Sync Contacts stops spinning and gets hung. At the bottom of the screen, the Cancel Sync button stays on indefinitely.
Eventually, this error message shows:
"Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."
I've force stopped and Cleared Data on the "Contacts Storage" in Application Manager.
I've removed and re-added the Google account.
I've done a factory reset.
I've done multiple combinations of the above 3.
Can you get me a quick fix, put me on a beta Lolipop, or revert me back to the previous stable build of Android?

I'm sorry you can't sync your e-mail accounts with your Galaxy since the update CoolGeorge. I would be extremely frustrated if my accounts weren't syncing. Let's get this fixed. When did you get the update on your phone? Do other apps sync on the phone? (Such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.) Please try removing the accounts from your phone, clear the memory, http://bit.ly/R0eeM7 , then restart the phone. Once this is completed, turn phone back on, download the accounts again, and try to sync. Let's see if this helps. Please keep us posted.

Android Update makes things worse AGAIN??!!

I should have learned not to accept Android updates last time. This time it's causing my phone to crash and reboot. What the h#ll is the problem, can't they provide a stable system update for once?
This is a Galaxy S4 anyone else having a problem?
Should I back out the update or hope for a fix soon?

Oh no! Sorry to hear you're having problems with the update jrichview2. We want to get your device up and running smoothly again. Does this happen when you run a specific application? How often does this happen? Have you tried using Safe Mode http://vz.to/1ldHnPU for at least a few hours? If not, please do so and keep us posted.

My Note 2 will no longer recognize my SD card after 4.3 android update

After the 4.3 update my phone recieved yesterday my SD card will no longer work. I have a 32 GB ScanDisk Ultra SD card. I will either get the error messages that it is blank..which it isnt I can view the files on my computer using an adaper. Or i will get a message after I insert my card saying it is preparing my SD and checking for errors and then another message will come up saving I can safely remove my SD card. In the storage settings it gives me the option to mount my sd card and when I select it my phone freezes and then crashes. Any advice? This is really starting to get irritating..especially when i know there is ntohing wrong with the card.!

Adobe AIR for Android update FAILS

The most recent update for Adobe AIR for Android is failing on multiple users. Reading the reviews, I am having the same problem with running the update. Update runs, then stops and won't update? Why bother coming out with an update THAT WON'T LET YOU UPDATE AIR???????

Android update for note3

When will there be an update for the Samsung Note 3? The last update was May but ALL the bloat ware has been updated multiple times since then, Mu Microsoft has had multiple updates as well should I look for a windows phone instead???

This is not a VZW schedule so expect 4.3 some time about those dates. The S4 update to 4.3 was on the date that was on that schedule which shocked me. Remember though along with new updates to old phones and the SIII is an old phone today no matter how new it is to you comes problems/issues to some of them. I was luck with my S4 which is now old as well even though I did not purchase it until the 32gb model. This was well after VZW started selling the S4 - 16gb. I did have issues with my S4 and if you look through comments in the S4 forum and check other S4 forums you will see. When I owned the SIII and it was updated from 4.0.4 ICS to JB many owners could not even use their phone as a phone because of the update and it was more than 2 weeks passed before VZW released an OTA fix to that issue. I usually now don't let my phone update until after the update has been our for a few days and check the forums to see if there are issues others experience before I update my phone. YMMV Good Luck with your update to 4.3. It is in Samsungs/VZW interest to get 4.3 and 4.4 on as many phones as they can so they can so they can sell other gear with requires 4.3/4.4 to work with our phones.

The latest Android update stops FF working - it either gives a tiny portion of a webpage or a black screen

I updated Android to 3.2 yesterday on my Iconia A500. After this, Firefox will only show a small part of a webpage or, using the new Android "feature", a black screen.

You will need to select "stretch to fill" and then restart the tablet.
We are working on releasing a version of Firefox that is specifically tailored for tablets so that the Android OS will stop suggesting their zoom mode.

After downloading newest android update video won't play from within photos.

After updating to the latest Android software, the video playback will not work and the error message "Can't play video" appears when trying to access video from within the photos section, they are visible as thumbnails and first frames. .. They can still be played back from the videos section but it used to work on both. This has affected all videos that are on the phone. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

spoke to online help today, they told me to backup my phone carry out software repair using pc companion. it did nothing but wipe my apps, the problem on mine comes from it won't allow films to be downloaded to the memory card, it will however download to the phone, which is crap seeing how small the onboard memory is. i've submitted an email and no doubt in a week or 2 there will be another update to sort this. it seems that none of these updates are tested properely as when my xperia z updated once you lost loadspeaker till the came up with a patch file.
my xperia z1 will play vids but when i updated there was about 40gb from video unlimited saved on the memory card, which immediately came up out of rental.... which is a pile of crap seeing as they were bought films. lets keep fingers crossed this is fixed quick.

Sd card wont read after android update

Same issue as others already posted. Updated android 4.1.1 on my slate 7 yesterday. Micro sd card no longer reads. No error message but external storage does not read at all. Also, Spotify app does not run now, possibly other apps too - not yet tested. Please help!!!

You must be wait, for this.You can use alternativity, transfer to PC, across the apk File Manager HD, what you can downloaded and install from Google Play Store. Android Update -- now fails to recognize SD Card!

Android did an automatic update yesterday, and suddenly failed to recognize the SD Card. It keeps telling me the card has been removed and that I need to insert a new one.
This device has been rebooted, cache cleared, card viability verified. What gives?

SD card issues are no fun, I feel you! I also have a Galaxy S3 and when I received my software update I did a factory reset http://bit.ly/LfV00q after installation to prevent any system conflicts and post update issues, and I have not experienced any issues with my SD card. Is there a timeframe for the Android Update 4.2.2 or 4.3, or even 5.0?

I have been reading online how several other phones have the 4.2.2 update and have had some issues, a reason why there are rumors that the Galaxy s3 won't see it, but maybe jump to 4.3 or 5.0. If anyone has any answers, not rumors, can you let us know please. Thank you.

Earlier this week, Samsung not only confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, it detailed the update for its users, offering information on what the update will bring when it arrives. And while Android 4.3 Jelly Bean still figures to be next in line for the Galaxy S3, at least one carrier appears to be gearing up for a Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 update instead. For weeks now, all we’ve been hearing about is how the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is close to rolling out. Rumors about the timing have put the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out in November with a release date still unknown. And given that Samsung finally confirmed the update not once, but twice this week, it’s safe to assume that we’re close. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update could come in November. Earlier this week, Australian carrier Telstra released an updated version of its timeline for upcoming updates. On that page, the carrier confirmed a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for November but surprisingly, it had the Samsung Galaxy S3 listed with an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update. Concerned customers wrote in, asking if the update was a typo. We’ve seen carriers make mistakes in these timelines before so the questions were relevant. It appears that one person who asked did receive a response from Telstra and surprisingly, it’s not a typo. The carrier apparently plans to upgrade the Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean instead of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in November. Thus far, it’s the only carrier that has affirmed these intentions though it’s not clear if it will be the last. Remember, Samsung was rumored to be having problems with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update and it was labeled as a reason why it shifted to Android 4.3 instead. So this development is a bit surprising to say the least. The carrier expects to deliver the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 update on November 25th though that date is obviously subject to change. If the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update does roll out to some owners in November it will certainly make Telstra decision look strange. At this point, no U.S. carriers have confirmed Android 4.3 or Android 4.2 for their Galaxy S3 variants and we don’t expect them to confirm anything ahead of their arrival.

Android Update be reviersed?

Yesterday I installed an Android operatiing system upgrade to version 4.4.2. I HATE the keybaord and HATE HATE HATE that SWYPE is not an option. The rest so far seems the same.....Can I go back to my older version or is there a planed update to fix the keyboard (HUGE loss in functionality) and add SWYPE as an input method??

If VZW don't like hearing such! Then why does VZW constantly do things to its satisfied customers that make them want to leave...and give them no way to become a happy camper with VZW again. It is a never ending issue with VZW. Please VZW don't reply to this with one of your canned response as everyone here is tired of those. Go give those to your Superiors to collect your pay.
