Angry to see my third Blackberry (curve, curve and Torch) out of order - Paris (France)

Bonjour,
from Paris - France

Can you please write in English in order to understand? And help thank you

  • Blackberry Curve and Facebook issues

I'm sure I'm not the only one...but I've finally decided to come here to see if anyone has an answer or solution to this problem.
I will post something via computer to my facebook page and then when I'm away from my computer I might get a response to a posting. I will then use my blackberry curve to send a response.  Most of the time it works just fine...but there are times (these are the ones I'm trying to figure what's going on and what the solution is) where the response I send goes through just fine but once it hits facebook two issues happen:
    1.   This appears on my message on Facebook Ô  when this happens it splits up the message into two seperate messages. I only see this on line.
    2.  when I view my Facebook page on my phone I get this message "Error encounterd during XML parse: Invalid character '&#x5' encountered. This pertty much prevents me from going any further down that particular posting on Facebook when looking on my phone.
What do I need to do to resolve this issue?  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I have updated to OS 4.5 for Blackberry and Desktop Manager 4.7 and have Documents to Go Premium on the Curve now.
I am used to the palm platform to manage documents on the laptop and syn to the handheld. I don't know how to organize documents on my laptop to syn with the Blackberry. I can email to my phone but I'm sure there is a  way to syn with desktop manager all documents I want to access on the Curve. Thanks for any help.
    Solved!

You can't sync documents to go with desktop manager, but you can send the files to the memory card with the desktop manager.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 shorting out

    Hi
I have a curve 8330 that the keyboard keeps shorting out.  verizon has replaced it at least 4 times in the last 3 months if not more.  basically my problem is that the keyboard shorts out and none of the buttons including the power button work.  the last tech i talked to  said its very common in that model blackberry.  so my question is has anyone else with a curve 8330 experienced it and what have you done to fix it?  im getting tired of going to verizon every month to get a new phone!

Since I posted i've looked at other websites and forums and it seems that i'm not the only one with this problem and its on all cariers too, not just verizon. Supposedly the 8300's have a problem with moisture
    Hi, Nick,
I obviously don't know what type of environment you use your Blackberry around, but if it is an environment that is prone to high humidity or moisture, you should consider not having your device around that environment.  All cell phones are susceptible to water or moisture damage, not just the 8330.  I am sorry you have had so much of a headache with your device.

  • Blackberry Curve and Microsoft Exchange

I'm not sure if I'm in the correct forum or not, but I have a question about Blackberry and Microsoft Exchange.
Do I need a Blackberry Server in order to synchronize to my MS Exchange Server?  I know I can get my email to synchronize using Outlook Web Access, but this doesn't help with my calendar.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ray

A BES would get the job done, but you could also use the desktop manager and just sync it over the wire. Also might want to look into the microsoft redirector
If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!

  • Contact software like Palm for Blackberry Curve?

I have been a Palm user for years. I now have a Blackberry Curve and want a contact type tool similiar to Palms. I want to be able to pull up a contact and see all the data in a better format than what is available on the blackberry today. Are there any software device and desktop solutions that are available? If so by who and where can I get them. Today I know that I can sync my palm data to my blackberry, but would like to be able to use only 1 product instead of 2.
    Please help?
    Thank you!

  • Error 523 on blackberry curve

my dad has had his blackberry for quite a while and has alot of important pictures and contacts in his phone. it now has the app error 523 popping up everytime we try to boot it up. there are a few secconds before it white screans to the error notice thing. all i can do is restart it and then it happens all over again. i dont know all the information for the model or whatever. i just know its a blackberry curve and hes on verizon wireless. is there anything i can do to save his information? he doesn't have a memory card (i should kick him for that) and everytime i try to connect the phone to the blackberry desktop software i cant get the phone to stay on long enough to connect before it errors. any help please?

Your best bet is really getting a backup made...
Or installing BlackBerry Protect to it, but for either, it must stay on.
For the 523 error, see below, but you WILL lose all data stored on the device.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • Blackberry Curve Drawbacks with Macbook Pros?

I am considering getting a Blackberry Curve(again). I got one about a week ago but wasn't able to use the Blackberry as a tethered device(basically use the internet on my macbook pro laptop through the blackberry. It would sign on for about 45 seconds then disconnect
I've been reading and seeing different programs you guys have mentioned. I was wondering if anybody has experience with a Blackberry Curve and a Macbook Pro and have some advice. Didn't know if I needed one of these programs to sync the connection between the two better.
I am going to get the unlimited tethered plan which gives me unlimited internet and the ability to connect my laptop to the internet through the Blackberry Curve Modem device.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

I tried this attempt thinking that yeah the airport needed to be turned off because it could've been causing interference but that didn't solve the issue either.
I know that when I talked to the support line at Cingular they looked it up(and also e-mailed me the link) showing that the Cingular Blackberry 8300 was only compatible with Windows vista, xp and so on, did not say Mac OSX but I didn't know if there were applications out there for Mac that could trick the phone or whatever into syncing up and allowing the internet. Does anybody have a 8300 and are able to get internet on their Macbook Pro? Thanks Rich though for the help. If ya got any other ideas definitely let me know, and Verizon may be a bit different then Cingular, not sure.

  • Blackberry Curve is worst phone ever

I upgraded to the Blackberry Curve less than a year ago.  Within that year, I have gone through 3 (THREE!!) Blackberry Curves.  The first phone stopped working after about 3 months and they sent me a "refurbished" replacement.  So I PAID for a new phone and was already using a used phone in 3 months.  Well that phone overheated and the battery fried the phone about 3 months later.  So in about 6 months, I was onto my third Blackberry Curve.  It is now about 5 months later and my phone has stopped working again.
But here is the best part- after the phone turned off and I pulled the battery out 3 different times, I realized the phone was broken.  So I had to wait the entire day to drive to a Verizon store to get ANOTHER phone.  Magically, as I was driving to Verizon, the phone cuts on and is now working.  I still went to Verizon, hoping they would be able to diagnose something so that I wouldn't need to go days without a working phone.  I was told that since the phone is currently working (mind you- it was broken for 10 hours and had now been working for about 10 mins), there was nothing that could be done to help me.  Instead, I was handed a PAMPHLET providing me with a number to call when (not if, but when) the phone broke down again, I could use this number to call and GET ANOTHER REFURBISHED PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I said, "So I literally have to get a new refurbished phone every 3-4 months until I'm allowed an upgrade?"  The Verizon store clerk said, "Yes, unless you want to pay for an upgrade."
Verizon has been NOTHING but a pain since I joined them.  And this Blackberry phone is worth more trouble than it's worth.  I have several friends who are also unfortunate Blackberry owners, and their phones are constantly breaking down and shutting off and the only thing Verizon has to offer is a refurbished phone.
I still don't understand how I paid for a new phone a year ago and was only able to use it for 3 months.  Since then, I have been forced to use refurbished phones since.  So why not just offer me a refurbished phone upfront, at a discounted price since you already know the Blackberry Curve sucks and is going to break down anyway?
Way to go Verizon!!!  I can't wait until my contract is up with you so I can switch to a network that offers phones that work.

Is it the curve 8530 by chance? My entire family is cancelling all of our verizon phones once our contact is up (ONE MORE YEAR cannot come soon enough). So basically I upgraded to that stupid phone last August. Little did I know that it would be the WORST PIECE OF SH*T i've ever had to deal with in my life!!!! My original phone was actually the best one i had, in perfect condition until the battery overheated one day. The verizon people said it was due to a bad software update that kills the battery so they sent me a refurbished curve. Of course they said they'd "overnight ship" but it didn't arrive for 3 days. Did i complain? NO. Now this "new" curve lasted maybe 2 months max, before the trackpad suddenly switched directions for absolutely no reason!!! So yet again I had to go deal with verizon store which is my worst nightmare because the customer service is so bad. They wasted like 2 hours of my time testing out the trackpad before they finally could conclude that YES it was backwards for no reason. SO they said they'd send me a new replacement and GUESS WHAT they send me the WRONG phone so i was without a phone for basically a week waiting for them to figure it out. THEN finally this new replacement came and literally i had it for 3 weeks when suddenly the charger stops working. First I take it in and the chick at the store tries to claim that i'll have to pay for a new replacement because there is this TINY scratch on the front CLEARLY having nothing to do with the phone's ability to charge!!! So I freaked out and left and sent my dad in later. He comes back and my phone is working perfectly and he said that they first tried to claim it was a pressure crack but then they switched the battery and found that it was working fine and the battery went bad. So i was like oh good at least i won't need to replace again... BUT THEN ONE WEEK LATER, i wake up and my phone's dead and won't charge AGAIN!!! So i take it back and try to explain that this happened last week blah blah and the guy at the store is SO rude and shows me that this tiny little prong in my phone charger port is bent, so that's why it won't charge. **bleep**? I've had this phone for THREE weeks and the charger can break when i've done NOTHING to damage it??!! ANyways i wanted to try another store so my dad and i go in and they basically confirm there's a chip in the charger and they claim that it's ALL my fault and it's physical damage and i'd have to pay $300 for a replacement. $300 for a f*cking refurbished Curve that has already broken on me THREE times???? IT's a joke. I'm sorry that this is so long but right now i'm using my FOUR YEAR OLD LG DARE that actually lasted me for 2 years with no problems. I just can't believe after being loyal Verizon customers and dealing with ALL the problems with my blackberry and their customer service that they would blame ME for breaking the charger when clearly everyone knows that refurbished phones are sketchy (GOOGLE IT, they all say that the charger ports are usually messed up!) And we WILL be cancelling our accounts as soon as our contracts are up, Verizon. I've also advised all of my friends and coworkers to NEVER sign up with VErizon due to the horrible service I've experienced. Hello AT&T!!! one more year and I will finally leave this horrible company!

  • Blackberry curve stucks

Recently took the blackberry curve and facing a serious problem. When ever i was in a call, suddenly the phone hangs/stucks and the whole screen becomes white for few (30) seconds or so and eventually call gets disconnected. This is happening quite frequently these days.
any idea how to fix  this issue?

Have you tried resetting your device by removing the battery for 1 minute. Afterwards the device will reboot (~1-3 mins). Try it afterwards

I have a Blackberry Curve and just inherited a Tour.  Which phone has the best features? The Tour does not have wi-fi. I wonder if its necessary?

There are about 4-5 versions of the Curve, which do you have?
Overall, I'd say the Tour ranks for memory and 3G speeds.
