Animate composition not previewing in Dreamweaver browser (IE10)

I am developing an animated logo within Edge and inserting it into my web page in Dreamweaver CC.  It displays perfectly in Edge Animate's browser (IE10) but not in Dreamweaver's IE10 browser. It does play perfectly from DW if I use Chrome.  Any ideas as to why it will not play using Internet Explorer from within Dreamweaver?

Darrell,
I really appreciate your interest in this.  I am not too well versed in web design, so I hope I’m just doing or overlooking something silly.
Here is the link to the test I posted on my website.  I hope this is what you were asking for.
http://www.thehorneagency.com/test_site/test_index.html
It is an extremely simple page consisting of a short text and a very brief Edge composition.
Yes, I am referring to the in-app previews, Edge (preview) and DW (live mode).
I will be extremely grateful for any ideas or suggestions you might have.  I hope I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew with all of this.
Thanks,
Bob Horne

Upgraded to 3.6.11 today. Now the browser preview in Dreamweaver will not work with Firefox. I have to use browser preview nearly every day, so I need to go back to 3.6.10 - how can I do this?

Here's the fix. Dump Firefox 3.6.13 and Re-Install Firefox 3.5.16. Problem solved.

  • Edge animate composition not working properly on bc

    Hi,
I have placed an adge animate composition into the home page of a bc template site (www.w-o-o.me). When i view the home page in safari, the animation can take up to ten seconds before it loads. The business owner says they cannot see it at all. The same with a site i built in muse, (www.thisiscrap.co.uk) the home page marquee is an edge composition, this does not show at all sometimes and is just a blank space at the top of the screen.
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did you fix it?
    Thank you.

    Hi Liam,
Thank you very much   yes that what i thought too, sorry i can't leave a link out in the forum coz the client wants to keep the project confidential at this stage, but i can PM you a link...
So you mean i have to edit the links in edge animate too? at first i couldn't get the shop template's css to load in subcategories, so i changed the links like that (/filename.css) and it worked but the edge animation wouldn't load when changing the paths for the files referred in the edge code that you put inside the head tag. So i'm guessing there must be some other paths that can't find its way around... and i found the below link last night, maybe this will work but I'm not sure how to put the javascripts and how to add the variable declaration to the root of my website like how they have mention in the below article, I'm more of a designer then a programer, but I'm learning on it, it would be great if you could tell me exactly whats that code and how to do it properly.

  • Scene7 images not previewing in Dreamweaver

I am working with Dreamweaver CC 2014 on OSX and I would like to use Adobe Scene7 for hosting images in emails that my company sends out.  However, I am running into a huge problem.  The images do not show in preview nor live view.  The only way to see them is by opening the html file in a browser.
The odd thing is, Scene7 is the only service that this occurs with.  Other external images pull into to preview with any problems.  I did check make sure that Display External Files is checked.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I don' t normally post the HTML email online, however,
for this one I did, just to check and see if that would make a
difference. It didn't. The link to my HTML email is:
    HTML
    email example
I have tried getting ideas from other forums and this seems
to be common, once you set absolute links, you cannot preview the
images in Dreamweaver anymore. Some people don't seem to mind and
others find it annoying (like me), I guess I will just have to get
used to it. The images are mostly jpgs created in Photoshop or
Illustrator, saved for web. All the images are uploaded to the
    webserver.
In the local settings in the http box I now have:

    Thanks,

  • Page that is uploaded to the server looks different from the preview in Dreamweaver browser

Hi, I have a couple of questions.  Does anyone happen to know why my homepage looks different in Dreamweaver when I preview in browser then it does when I upload the page onto the server?  http://www.iewaterkeeper.org/  I see a join our mailing list button is intact when I preview in browser but is no where to be found when I view the uploaded page from the server.  Other weird things have been going on with Dreamweaver today like I wasn't able to absolute position a div tag in it's intended place and all the typography on my homepage looks very blurry in Dreamweaver but looks clearer when it's uploaded to the server.  Does anyone know what's going on?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  .... Could it be a virus?

That's so weird because I'm looking at the code in Dreamweaver and line 181 has a closing </body>.   Here's the code straight from Dreamweaver:

  • Edge Animate Content not working in DreamWeaver

I already insert>media>EdgeAnimateContent into the div I wanted it in. I uploaded all my supporting files to my server. Not showing up in preview or when I make the page live.

When I go to DW Live View It automatically logs me into the site and I don't get to see the index page that I am trying to put this on. This is what I see in design view...
When I publish it the An file doesn't show. When I refresh the page the "Log In" div is in the correct place for a fraction of a second and then snap up to the top (where the An should be).

  • Responsive scaling of Edge Animate composition in Dreamweaver Fluid Grid Layout

I have created an animation in Edge Animate and have placed it in the header of a Dreamweaver Fluid Grid Layout. I have put it in a div by itself so it can be turned off in the mobile layout. When I test the layout in a browser, the Edge Animate composition scales responsively to the window size, but the height of the div it is in does not. The width of the div changes with the width of the window, but the height of the div remains the same. Because the height of the div doesn't change, as the animation responds and resizes it leaves a large empty space between the bottom of the animation and the content that follows it on the page.
The div itself does not have a rule for it's height associated with it. It seems to me that the div is getting its height from the original size of the html object which is the animation. I tried removing the height rule for the object, but then the div clips the bottom of the animation, and again, it doesn't resize with the window.
Is there a way I can get the div's height to resize with the size of the animation as it changes?

Thanks for your reply. You're right about most people not resizing their viewport during a session, but unfortunately the problem exists whether the screen is being resized or not. Refreshing the screen doesn't solve the problem.
The width of the div adjusts to the width of the screen as expected and the Edge Animate composition inside it does too, but the height of the div doesn't adjust. As the animation gets smaller to fit the width, the height of the div that contains it remains the same, leaving empty space at the bottom of the div. What is needed is for the div to scale to fit the page width proportionally. Instead, only the width is adjusting.
So I guess I need to know if there's either a way to force the div to scale proportionally or a way to tell it to adjust to the animation that it contains.

Up to the point where I upgraded, I never had a problem but now, when I go to preview/debug in browser, Firefox loads but it goes no farther than my home page ... it will not load the Dreamweaver page preview. Safari works fine. So I think there may be a problem loading 3.6.13 past the startup page.

Here's the fix. Dump Firefox 3.6.13 and Re-Install Firefox 3.5.16. Problem solved.

  • Bridge Delaying Dreamweaver Browser Preview

I have noticed that when Adobe Bridge is open, Dreamweaver
CS3 has trouble previewing in my Firefox browser (have not tried
other browsers). When I preview, the hour glass appears for 20-30
seconds and then, finally the preview appears in the browser.
With Bridge closed the preview displays immediately without
    delay.
I like to work with Photoshop, Bridge, and Dreamweaver open
at the same time so it is kind of a slow down to have to close
bridge when I do a lot of previews (and I do A LOT of previews).

Same problem in IE7 preview as well. Running Windows XP SP2
Other apps can be open (such as After Effects or Premiere
Pro) with no problem. I only get this with Bridge running.
Open Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Bridge. Then use the browser
preview globe button in Dreamweaver to preview to a browser. If you
don't get a long delay, then I have something else going on I
    guess.

  • Muse will not preview Edge Animate File

Once I have published my Edge content I place it in Muse and then try to preview it using the preview button.  It will not work.  I preview my work using the Edge Animate previewer and it plays just fine.  I play the HTML file in Firefox and it works.  I have scanned the web for two days without any luck to a solution.  Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 not previewing embedded YouTube Videos

I've created a simple page with a number of YouTube videos embedded on it but Dreamweaver CS6 will not preview the videos unless the page is uploaded to a web server first.
I've gotten the embed code from YouTube and pasted it into the code window (in split view).  A grey box indicating the player shows up in the design window, but after saving the page and attempting to view it in Live View or previewing in Safari, the YouTube players won't load.
I did manage to get the the players to show only after uploading to a temporary website (http://www.omnimediaservices.com/orionvideos.html) but there should be a way to preview this in a browser at least before having to upload.

I have the same problem as beerstine . I added the prefix as you suggested but for not.
This is the code I pasted and fixed:
    <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/P5C3sNTxsxU?rel=0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  • Image Preview not working in Dreamweaver CC

I recently switched from Dreamweaver CS5 to Dreamweaver CC and my images don't preview in Dreamweaver CC interface "Design" mode/tab at all. My images are hosted at an Adobe Scene7 URL that I know the image path is correct because it works when I preview using the image path URL.
I need to get these images to preview in Dreamweaver so that I can ad hotspot areas to them and also visualize what it looks like before making web pages live.

DW should automatically show you those files in Design View.
Unless you are using a firewall, that should not be checked. If you have not defined a site yet, that would never have come up to be checked.
Does View > Refresh Design View (F5) do anything for you?
What happens when you switch to Live View on the page(s) in question?

  • When I type a link to a page in my root directory in code view and I click on the link in live view it does not go to that page.  But if I preview in a browser it works fine.

When I type a link to a page in my root directory in code view and I click on the link in live view it does nothing.  When I then go to preview in a browser it works fine.  Can anybody help?

I am not sure however I suspect live view is for viewing the page you are working on. You would have to open the other page to see it in live view. The browser on the other hand is doing what it is designed to do. I jump back and forth all the time from live view to the browsers I have installed.
